ICF railway museum is a beautiful and a must visit place. The hotel and the outer factory area is an entertainment area.Inside the factory, the manufacturing of all the parts like engine, coaches, seats, were done with high precautions. The factory contains highly equipped machines also few are technology based.Educational Field trips to this place will provide lots of exposure. In each section the is explaining the routines clearly.Starting from manufacturing of different parts, different coaches, and different trains, assembling them and testing patterns were clearly explained to students.

Got to learn a lot about IR in the museum and they predominantly have decommissioned SR and SECR coaches and locos.Cost is 50 per person (for Kids its 25)including tea/snacks and 2 rounds in the toy train. The museum is closed on Mondays

Blissful experience. Must visit for kids, not only for fun but also for study purpose. Though an adult, I enjoyed the Toy train ride.Entry Fee as on July 2021- Adult Fee is ₹50- Children Fee is ₹20- DSLR Camera Fee is ₹100For that ₹50 token, we will get a tea or a samosa as complimentary. So, dont forget to ask about this. For kids, there are these slides, marry go round and swings. So, they will surely enjoy the whole Museum. Now, due to the pandemic effect, theatre hall is not open. So, that was dissapointing.Expected only 1 round of train ride, but unexpectedly got 2 rounds.I visited during the weekdays, so no crowd and had an enough space for parking my car.My personal opinion is there is no need of getting dslr. Because, there is no such scenic experince. But, found many statues out of scraps, which was really worth watching and taking photos in our own phones camera.

This is a must visit if you’re visiting Chennai irrespective of your age. The property is next to the ICF(Integral Coach Factory) in New Avadi Road. It has ample space for parking your 2/4 wheelers. I was there today & witnessed could of school buses & couple of college buses as well. For kids, it was an excursion but for the college students, it was an industrial visit. They charge ₹50 for adults as an entry & ₹15 for kids (per person). For adults, you’re also entitled for a snack(Samosa) or drink(Tea/Coffee) which is prices at ₹10.They have massive halls which exhibits their products and the evolution of Indian railways. They also have a Park where kids can play. Water & Toilet facilities are also available.Do not miss taking the ride on a toy train which is fee of cost. It goes inside a small tunnel as well apart from taking you around the property which will last for 2-3 minutes. There is also a fully air conditioned movie theatre which shows the video(around 30 minutes) about various aspects of railways including the world’s longest & fastest trains. They also have a restaurant inside. I did not go there since this visit was a sudden one.You can spend a good 3-4 hours in this place at a nominal cost.

But some people are not come in that time so already sitting peoples are wait for that time ..... ( toy ride have multiple timing pls ask that time come quickly in the bell sound it not necessary to wait already sitting people but train is have below 10 members it have nearly 30 seats that the man wait to max full the seats )Good place to spet time must try these place .....Foodcourt tea or coffee or samosa not good average taste..

A lengthy review. Read it, youll find it good I hope...This place is very good. There are lots of engines and coaches which are real scale models. Theres a lot to see both outdoor and indoor and a small train ride which runs through the perimeter. The ride is very awesome especially at night it has a small tunnel and the sound is like the same as we travel in a real train through tunnel. But beware there are mosquitoes all over the place. Old trains such as Nilgiris hill train and trains having cranes over them are sight to see. Some of them has lost their sheen due to corrosion in paint. Coming to indoor, the indoor museum has a lot to show about the legacy of the Integrated Coach Factory(ICF) at Chennai, such as introduction of first class and medical rakes etc. The different types of engines and rakes are photographed and a detailed explanation has been given for the particular engines and rakes as well. There is also the motors on display such as dc motor and parts like armature and yokes are kept on display. The parts used in making the coaches are also on display. While going through indoor museum just read everything thats written at display boards. Youll find it very interesting to know about the legacy of the ICF which has played an important role in building the railway infrastructure in and around Chennai and parts of other places.

A very nice place for kids to spend time. Courteous staff, clean place. They also have a Nursing Room which is an added advantage for nursing mothers. They also have a gallery which has train models made in wooden, a stamp collection.Mini play areas all over the place which has swing, slide and merry go round. The toy train ride is the main attraction there. All in all, a good 2-3 hours can be spent here. They also allow outside food and give the place for birthday parties as well.
