I visited The Old Madras Baking Company on Khader Nawaz Khan road. It is a cozy cafe with delectable sandwiches and desserts. Coffee was an average affair.I also came across some interesting varieties of cheese and bread for sale.

One of the best places in Madras for fresh baked breads and loaves. You will find all types of bread here, along with pastries, desserts and other baked goods. Taste is great, prices are also not too extravagant.

Old Madras Baking Company welcomed us with a warm ambience and smelt of freshly baked items. What better way to welcome someone? The place is well lit, and they have an array of items displayed, like the danish, donuts, croissants, cupcakes and what not! They also have sandwiches to go with your meal, and taste really good. Both the Danish and the chocolate muffin that we tried out tasted pretty good, despite it being a little over priced. They also have slabs of cake you can take home - the carrot cake undoubtedly is my favourite. The Banana walnut and the Choco muffin flavours are also relishing, and worth a try. They also sell a variety of breads and other bakery items that can be bought. It shares its space with Ox and Tomato, so you can always complete your meal with some pasta and dessert from Sandys! Overall, great place for some cake and muffins, with friendly staff and quick service.

This place is hands down one of the best in Chennai. The food tastes awesome and everythings fresh here. Theyve got bagels which are kind of tough to find in Chennai. They use only organic ingredients, and they have a great variety of breads. You can buy different cheeses here, the uncommon ones too. Everyone whos been to the place on my recommendation, has been all praise for it, and Id definitely recommend it to everyone.

Had chocolate cake and cheese danish. Cheese danish was sour, could be better. Chocolate cake wasnt Misty it was dry, tatsted different and was nice.

The place offers lot of European style brunch with reasonable price. The only issue is that it is too small and therefore cannot accomodate many people. The bakeries are freshly made and taste delicious. Actually there are many options available; be it veg or non-veg.

This is our favorite bakery. Their dark choco chip cookie and brownie are way too good. We buy their bread every week and its freshly made without preservatives. We have tried the coconut bun and focaccia and buy them frequently as well. I love visiting this place. They also let you preorder items in bulk for the next day so you get freshly prepared baked items for your home needs / party.

In Chennai I found this bakery to be one of the best. There are very limited options for bakeries in terms of quality hence Old Madras should be your number one stop shop :)You will not be disappointed.However, they dont have donuts :(

Very bad experienceI ordered from this place through UBEREATS ,a pan pizza slice.The delivered pizza was cold and tasted awful.I call the outlet and their reply was lame and said they will send cold pizza and we have microwave the pizza at home....I was like what the.....Stupid reply for their laziness ,they didnt even reheat the food before send..

I used work near this place and I would end up going to this place for small bites and relaxing for a couple of hours. Very quaint bakery. It has a Lovely collection of breads and savoury food. It has a very cosy vibe. Very good for meeting with friends or hanging out or for a quick bite.

Great ambience, smart working employees scored poorly for awkward product. Bought a couple of bagels (to my understanding bagel had nothing to do with oil). the two different styles of bagels i bought were so greasy, the paper bag turned oily within a few min. By the time i reached home the bags were fully soaked. Either they should not call that a bagel or give the real thing. My first experience with the old madras.....was not what i anticipated to be.

Okay. Confession, Im a huge baking nerd. I love good bread and its one of my biggest gripes about Chennai that we dont have many good bakeries.Ombc is incredible. The cakes are nice, and the sweets are tasty. But the bread is absolutely incredible. Its soft but has a solid crust. The croissant tastes of actual butter. Its finally lets me see how some people can have just a croissant and a juice for breakfast. The butter is filling.The sourdough is fantastic. Its sharp and has an incredible smell.Bread here does cost much more than just plain wonderbread but you will not regret buying your bread from ombc. Its just so much better, youll actually not want to eat the commercial stuff anymore.

Its crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, nice and warm with that delicate garlic flavor.Their coffees are OK, nothing to rave about.Do try their multigrain and whole wheat bread as well.Its definitely an upmarket place with neat and pretty interiors.Definitely on the expensive side but everything is freshly baked with authentic ingredients!Like, do do do try their garlic bread!! (my mouth is watering already!)

One place to get freshly baked bread. They have several varieties like country loaf, which is normal bread, whole wheat bread, multigrain bread, Ragi bread etc. in addition you get a variety of cupcakes and muffins, puffs, lots of cheese and butter. Different preserves and jams.They also have fresh coffee. Prices are a bit on the higher side but the quality of the products are worth it. I do wish they do more publicity as one does not realise that this is a cafe and bakery.

They told me that will cost 10rupees.I told ok.They started packing in a paper made paper bag which one will get in the mkt for 1/-rupee .when eat outs are providing non plastic bags when the purchase isbeyond rs100/-. Why you want to do such day robbery by providing a Filthy bag when already your baked items are at sky rocketing price.hope changes will take place.
