Absolutely delicious food. Most of the items that we tried turned out to be great. Ambience was very good too. Designated parking area, spacious waiting hall, cleanly maintained place and comfortable seating. The only negative was the speed of service. Servers were courteous but failed to bring the dishes on time. They even forgot a couple of dishes and we had to end up cancelling them. Definitely worth the visit for the quality of food served!

Great food !! If you want to enjoy traditional South Indian food this is the place for you. The food was really good however the service wasn’t great. It’s pretty easy to locate. I would suggest don’t give your car for the valet parking, not because they damaged my car in any way but when you go back to collect your car they take so long to return it was standing there waiting for literally ten minutes ! Otherwise it was a great experience.

This restrarunt is mainly suited for NV lovers. Both a-la-carte and Buffet available. Many varieties available under NV menu. Nandu rasam, fish, Briyani were nice. But veggies will be certainly disappointed limited varieties and very average taste.Prices of the dishes are bit high. Went for a dinner party (a-la-carte) with 15 people, costed around 14k

Amazing food with authentic South Indian taste!

It was like a foreign territory for me when i saw the menu because the menu was unique but the good thing is that i had people with me who knew the game. After going through the options multiple times we ended up ordering the Maplai Thaali. For non-vegetarians, they have a lot of options. Now coming to the food, it was my first proper south indian meal and it was a great experience. The thing which stood out for me has to be Vazhapoo Kola Urundai it was different and tasted great but that is subjective and depends upon your personal taste.This place definitely deserve a visit if you want to try good south indian food (Although the staff is really helpful but it would do wonders if you bring your south indian friends along)

Chettinad cuisine for non veg lover is Maplai. You also get other cuisine variety here. It is well known for its unlimited Briyani virunthu.OrderedVeg Briyani - Kerala style only thats available. Not the best but good .Vazhaipoo kola urundai - must tryThen few Indian 🍞 breads and country chicken curry .Visit for Chettinad cuisine .May be will visit again

Its a chettinad style restaurant, the kola urundai dishes and coin parotta are so good. If you are good eater prefer for special combo lunch offered here.

Excellent South Indian food. Service is top knotch. Theeran was efficient, helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes. His recommendations were spot on.Thanjavur kair katti gola urundai, a must try, is a mutton dish where the meat melts in your mouth.Chicken kotthu parotta has the right amount of spice and is a great dish and so is the Mutton chukka dosa.Reservations recommended, especially on weekends. This restaurant is a must try for all doing Indian non vegetation food lovers.

Excellent food. I was surprised to see a lot of varieties of food that you do not usually see at other places. Really a breath of fresh air. The quality is absolutely awesome. The Travancore Chicken was great and is real authentic kerala style chicken fry. Biriyani was also very good. The speciality Vattalappam dessert was smashing, and so was the Maplai falooda.Hats off to the Maplai team, including Bogan who served us and made us feel right at home. Loved the service.

A wonderful place in Ecr to have some quality food. I tried their famous Maplai Virundhu and I was blown away by taste, quality and quantity and mind you i am a pure vegetarian. Yet, they had plenty of dishes that I couldnt even go past the 8 starters served. It was so filling. The guys who had Non Veg also loved it like anytn and I would definitely recommend the place. This is pretty close to Neelangarai police station

Sipcy food lovers, here is the place which offers great Chettinad style spicy dishes. Tried south indian biriyani(Chiken/Mutton) which is good, but upon my expectations kerala prawn biriyani is not good(also very spicy). Theepoori chicken starter is the one I would suggest for the people who wish to die by green chillies(delicious).

Long time in the list, visited last week. It was a weekday so it wasnt crowded much.Ambience - Was good ,since it wasnt crowded we felt very cold and asked to switch off the AC.Service- was very nice. They were polite and served everything bit faster.Food - we ordered Madurai mutton Briyani,Karuvepillai chicken, Naatukozhi chicken gravy ,Coin parotta, Kola urundai, Paanagam, Jigarthanda. Mutton Briyani was ok and not great. Karuvepillai and Naatukozhi were excellent. First set of coin parotta was just ok but later the second plate was good. Kola urundai nice but very expensive . Jigarthanda wasnt like famous Jigarthanda but it was different and nice.Overall nice experience but price is on higher side . Kola urundai doesnt deserve such a high price.

Best Thalaserry Briyani and The starters are amazing, pricing is on the costlier side.. But worth every penny.. Prepare to tingle your tongue. Staffs are courteous. Service is fast. Thanks to Mr Theeran who made our visit more awesome. Kudos Guys.

Superb food, great service

Outstanding Tamilan food, with a few dishes from other cuisines of South India. The fish curry with mango and drumsticks was fantastic, as was the mutton curry. They have a lamb meatball starter which is superb. They have a few varieties of South Indian biryanis, very good. This place is very popular, and they dont accept reservations on the weekends, so be prepared to wait up to an hour. Its worth the wait!

Nice place with good ambience, food quality is good, you can get authentic south Indian dishes. Prize is little bit on heavier size, but worth food taste is worth the prize.Deserts are must try. Brownie with ice-cream faluda and jigarthanda(too sweet since it included palm sugar)

Food and service was superb. We had been to Maplai on ECR road. Our server Puli was great in his professionalism. A group of 5 guests came to next table which eventually forced to move the table bit closer to ours to accommodate the 5 th person; and Puli was apologetic and moved our table a bit further. There was another situation where he took our permission to clear the unused covers on our table.Coming to food, the menu had some superb options. We had learnt about their non veg thali so we tried that. It had barota (the typical Malabari Paratha) rice, rasam, one vegetable, 2 chicken preparations, one mutton preparation, one fish preparation. All of it were good. However mutton felt little tough, seemed like it was not well marinated. The meal ended with a desert and a Mini Kulfi.One thing I forgot to share is the welcome drink. There were two of them out of which one was butter milk and other one was a sweet one dont know the name but it was superb.Over all it was a Sunday lunch. Price could have been a little but lesser by 10-15%.

We, so much liked the taste of it.Then we just ordered a Chicken Biryani and two falooda.Eventhough we ordered very less number of dishes, Kabali was keep on asking us whether he needs to refill the complimentary chips and biryani as well.His service was so pleasing and we felt so comfortable unlike anyother restaurant in OMR or ECR.He also enquired us whether we liked the food or not and requested to provide suggestions for improvement in taste which majority of the restaurants dont do.Kabali was very professional and his kind service impressed us a lot.Overall, its a very good experience for us and we plan to visit this place again and again with our friends/family :)

When the restaurant started it got a variety of dishes which tasted really good. But now a days we can find only limited dishes. And I should say they didnt do any compromise to the taste. Food is really good there even though we cannot find varieties. Due to the limited varieties giving 4 star

Visited Maplai on a Sunday ... And there was a huge like of people waiting ! Took us almost 45 minutes to get a table but it was absolutely worth it! Tried their non veg thali, fish curry and tandoori roti!Great taste and ambience ! Even though the restaurant was packed , the staff were smiling and curteous , looking into every little detail

I visited this place with my family for dinner. I am new in Chennai so I selected this place based on ratings. I must say I was not disappointed at all. The twist they offer to traditional dishes will make your taste buds whirl. What impressed me is they have ample options for vegetarians too. We had never more for drinks. Podi Panniyaram, parotta , mushroom chettinad.Everything was great about this restaurant, I want to go back and try their very popular Biryanis.

Had such a wonderful experience in this restaurant but on my last visit i saw a complete change. Ambience was in bad shape, menu card changed , signature dishes missing. More over in the name if biryani they served white rice on top of chicken curry. Even you cannot tell the difference between their starters because they were more or less made in same manner.I used to rave about this food joint to my friends but not any more.

Good food options, very tasty. But after our lunch when we reached our place then only noticed, that they include some other food which was not eaten by us. So I paid about 300rs more than we ate. Are they cheating? Please check your bill properly before you leave the restaurant.

Good place to have lunch

A wonderfully located restaurant with great ambience. The food is tasty, and the unique thing is a variety of top-shelf South-Indian delicacies. However, the price is a bit on the higher side, and the service takes time if your order is big or if you go with large groups. Its still a great spot for a satisfactory team dinner or a treat for your friends, if you arent worried about the price too much.

Dishes were good. A bit too spicy. I usually tolerate spice well but I myself felt the need to stop at a certain point. Service and ambience are great. No issues with that.

Nice place for dining with family and friends. A very cosy and comfortable place. The menu is exhaustive and contains cuisine of all the South Indian states. Unfortunately the Vegetarians have very few items to choose for in the menu. Especially during Dinner the Vegetarians will face a huge disappointment.

Food was awesome. But costly.

Good place which has variety of traditional dishes. Even though the taste of dishes are amusing, the rates are comparatively high and minimal in quantity. In brief, No buffet, no non-veg soup, less variety in vegetarian dishes, soothing music of old tamil songs in background and the ambience of the place which are noticeable to be appreciated. A commodious parking space is available for 2 wheelers but maximum of 3 four wheelers could be parked at a time. Costing comes around 5-6k for a clique of 10 people by lunch.

Food good but the waiter s giving False promise.. today I just went to have our dinner .for welcoming usually they will provide fry items this time I asked whether its available ha.. the waiter said s but he didnt even talk about that later.. if the hotel s not provide that food item then they should say we didnt have that item y false promises... Just to attract kids they had that.... That too false statements...very bad...

The food is authentic South Indian cuisine. The place is well set up and has good ambience. Though the price is a little on the up side, is worth a try.

Food was very tasty and portion sizes was good value for money.We had asked for lime soda take away and was shocked to see that it was given to us in a gravy container. I please ask the management to make arrangements for such situations

Customer service is at its worst. They will not pick up your call or even if you reach there they will not answer you properly... Food might be good, variety may be excellent and popular but without decent customer service they will not survive. I am sure if they dont improve customer care, they will close down soon.
