I have ordered their onam sadhya after seeing all the hypes on the internet , but it is a waste of money.. They gave spoiled rice in the package. and no action has been taken care by them till now even after complaining to their branch Manager Mr Vinoth and its very surprising to see that he is irresponsible and least bothered to pay attentionSuch a nasty experience ever on the auspicious day . Their employees look so shabby and pathetic cleanliness maintained. So be alert and do not waste your money ,adding photos for your reference.
It is located in Kodambakkam High road in the Nungambakkam area. Opposite to KFC and brside the Cake shop. They have parking in the front space of the restaurant. A very quiet, decent place with good interior. Wooden table and chairs, dim lights, souvenir, tried to give a Kerela touch as the name of the restaurant suggests. The only drawback is the Restroom. It can be much better with proper doors and hygiene protocols. Disappointed.Lets come to food part. Serves Kerelian cuisine. So if u love food cooked in kerelian style then do visit this place. They have many options in the menu card,I chose to have 1. Puttu with chicken curry. It was so tasty food served. Puttu was so fresh and hot. Even the chicken gravy was yummy. Recommend to try this combo.2. Fish Tawa Fry. They have a size cart along with prices. Fish was fresh and juicy. It was prepared perfectly with good amount of spices.Very reasonable price with good food quality and quantity. I enjoyed the place.
No many varaities available... Kerala foods are good.
Food was okay,I ordered ghee rice, but got it like a pulao/North Indian style with long rice,The fish curry had a bit more of tamarind and it had a bitter after-taste.Most importantly, the restaurant was warm inside(no air-conditioning) and couldnt enjoy my meal as expected. May be my expectation was high or wrong.
Very good experience. Good food Good Ambience. Loved it.
We had the traditional meal, tasted good. Not sure if it is due to the Covid restrictions, service was slow and poor communication.Karimeen polichathu was inconsistent. Somehow did not taste the way it used to regularly taste.Still rating them better as I believe this was just a one off experience
One of best Kerala resturent in Chennai. Traditional Kerala food avavilable
Ambience is good.. Courtegeous staffs..Clean tables..Then whats wrong...Wait..Wait..The dish ..Really pathetic almost on all items that we have ordered... Kili paratta is worst and even one can get a good quality in a roadside shop itself...The appam that they served is worst of its kind and the batter was outdated and not fit to eat...The chicken pieces are exact replacement of rubber... Overall worst experience...Never visit this place if you want to taste quality food...
Best hotel for malayalis if they want to get taste of kerala but service not too good
Good choice of Kerala Food. The Karimeen is highly recommend
Ordered appam and egg roast. Tasty but expensive. Egg roast costs 150 and appam 28 INR. Idk whether the price is reasonable, but for me it was somewhat expensive.
Place was good but Worst service.Parota lovers can try here.other foods not sathisfied.
Meals is limited. even if extra rice ordered(rs 70), they dont provide poriyal or the curries. The curries are also limited, not enough.Beef is like rubber.. not worth the price
Onam sadhya was disappointing ... very less content for 700 rs...
Nothing to brag about this place as they have faded in recent times in all aspects.
Food was excellent. But for service they have taken a long time.
Parotta and beef fry amazing combo and would suggest everyone to try it.
Traditional Kerala restaurant...Its One of the best Kerala restaurant in Chennai.Food menu are very unique style and u can find the authenticity of Kerala. Its included kids menus also.Restaurant have very good ambiance and the seating arrangement also good.Dining hall is very even but in peak hours and weekend u need to wait for sometime to dine there.Price of food are affordable and its worth the quality and the quantity of the food. For big group dining its a very good place.Service also very good and i enjoy it.
Average one, ordered meals and different fish fry and gravy items. Didnt feel great. Heard good reviews long before, but now its not great.
Guys dont get cheated here. They dont serve authentic kerala taste. Ordered meals. Just got some kerala rice with basic 2.. 3 curries and was limited. Fish fry i ordered was instantly fried and the masala was raw. Never order chicken pepper fry which will look like a chinese dish and much lesser quantity. It was one of the worst kerala restaurant i ever visited. I even doubt that whether they have a kerala cook.
Kumarakom used to be a good Kerala restaurant before lock down but sadly now, the food quality is not worth for the money.
Paratto with Beef Fry should be the good combination. Fish is not good. Price vs Product positioned too costly because of name. Reducing prize may attract more consumers.
The restaurant is worst in terms of customer service , I didnt want any spicy dishes so I had asked for coconut milk or any other less spicy alternative which I was denied in a very rude, they claim to be a Kerala restaurant but they do not have any idea of what their favorite ingredients are or their warmth in terms of handling customers. Will never order from here again, will not recommend this restaurant even for my worst enemy.
Ordered food through swiggy, Karimeen Pollichathu, literally the fish they provided for the cost they charged werent matching, for such a small fish, which was spice-less, salt-less, they charged 500/-.I am still wondering whether they sent the proper item. Basically, its expensive and cost they provide is way too much.
Good response at Avadi restaurant.
Delicious kerala food at reasonable rates
Nice enjoyed kerala food
Had really bad experience. Not even match with original taste. Also the quantity is very low for gravies. karimeen Polichathu is expensive and not upto level
Many times I ordered through Swiggy app..This time the worst food I get Beaf ularthiyathu From Nungambakkam. It is old food..They remake and give..Bad experience
Nice place for Kerala food. Parotta & Appam is very good. Speciality is non-veg items. Lots of items available. The ambience also is nice.
I found the service very poor. I ordered the food items at 12noon and at 1.30pm I was informed that the items I had ordered were over.
Superb food!Ambience is a little old. But nice clean place
Super Kerala food in Chennai. Must visit again
I have had meals before howver now thinhs are a little different. Food i would rate below average. We order fish curry, chicken masala , uppams and somethng in veg overall rating below average. And yes whatever we wantex to eat was not availble.
Not many options for vegetarians, but taste was ok. Ambience is dull and you can see a couple of guys from NE. They dont serve beverages.. both hot and cold. Not a great occupancy.
The legendary Mallu joint ....beef 🍖 fry is a must try ....
Not a authentic kerla, seems Chinese mixed, and morucurry which smells bad and I asked they said its normal only and saying nobody complainted before, actually I was the first person who entered on that day then how can other complaints about this, and ordered fish fry it looks like Marina beach side u will find those type of fish fry with bright red colour, again its not a Kerala style, simply waste
Cant reserve as they never take calls
Lighting are not like other Restaurants. Why they are keeping small yellow bulbs. It is for only Bars. Food is OK
Was a good resturant before. But now quality of food is bad and pricing is very high
Time waste.Poor food quality.Poor service .It can be a negative scoring resturant
Except meals. All dish worst and high price. 250 rs chicken meals i got 4 chicken ribs🤮
Perfect place for Kerala Food
No change in taste despite the lockdown.. excellent quality
Good Kerala food. Not the best though.
The interior light settings were as like candle dinner lights....
I ordered Kappa, Palappam, Karimmeen fry and pollichathu all typical Kerala items. The order was ready for pickup in 20 minutes. The taste was excellent for all of the dishes. Will recommend to any Malayalee coming near Gemini fly over
The food is good. Service is good
Very bad experience daylight robbery is what i would call it.
Had kerala meals(limited). Good , tasty.
Beef fry was good. Kadai Chicken was OK. Fish fry was pathetic. It was the kerala style Karimeen fry, which was not good.
Ordered parotta with chicken curry. They delivered parotta with Kadala curry. Not worth for money... taste is not so good. Over prized for less quantity. Stingy behaviour..We may have to ask three to four times to get anything delivered while dinning in.
Awesome food.. Must try dish Palappam and ur favorite curry.
I like kumarakom
Good mallu food ,but need to recheck on their ambience
Awesome looking restaurants of wooden crafts
A pleasant place to visit if you end up craving kerala style food. Good food great service... often ends up being a blessing for those who miss home food too much
They need to work on their ambience. We visited looking at the pictures of the dishes served there but the whole place looked run down old building. Food was ok. I seriously doubt the cleanliness of the restaurant. Staff were very courteous.
Tasty...
Good food.
Food not up to the standard. Number of dishes are also very less
Absolutely loved this place. Their crab soup and fish fry is to die for!. The ambience is so peaceful. Best place for second dates and family night....
Love the place. The best restaurant to get authentic Kerala food. Biriyani tastes extremely delicious. The ambience is good. Staff and service too good.
Simple ambience.. Calm place. Food is not up to the level... It is best to visit once.
Best kerala restaurant in Chennai. Service is very slow. But good food.
Average rating. We had beef biriyani which was nice. But the chicken curry, fried chicken were not up to the mark. Pomfret, chicken roast and most of non veg items were not there. Avoidable place.
Wonderful ambiance and good food at a reasonable price
A wonderful place for Kerala meals... A good place for family lunch.Must try beef and kari meen.Ambience is bit outdated but if you need good food ignore that.
Some sort of Dusty and closed furniture smell ,to improve good smell and washroom and toilet lighting poor to improve mod bright
Good place for Kerala cuisine... The irachi items deserve special mention. The Kerala-meals experience is a bit inconsistent with side dishes changing on rotational basis and lunch only items get over in a hurry...Ambience is good. But a bit more in the field of fly control would be good say a few more of those zappers... Not that its a deal breaker....
Beef ularthiyathu....very tasty and soft.
Great food, affordable prices. If you love Kerala food, you would love this place. Tried Kerala meals, fish fry, kappa, puttu.
Good Kerala style restaurant, expect a little wait for the food to arrive. The quality is nice though.
Absolutely zero (pathetic) experience... You have to remind them multiple time to get you onions along with the food ordered and that never comes till the meal is over... Absolute let down.. 0/10 ... Nobody in the restaurant takes the onus..
Great place for Kerala food.
All Kerala foods available hereGreat taste and fast servicesGood feeing....
All food is spicy and salty bed service also
Loved the starters. Most of the sea food starters were great. If you are a fish lover you must visit kumarakom.
Few dishes were good and few were ok types.Had car parking for 3 to 4 carsServers know hindi only and English language was average.
