The krishna restaurant....very nice ambience. My favourite.Good southindian food.Avoid north indian food.Suprb service.Awesome idlies.Very well maintained.Quality and taste consistency.Neat and clean.Fully hygenic place.Ample car parking.1 star less for northindian food . They really need to improve the taste of that....
Best! But they cost a simple lime juice ₹104. Which is just ₹10 - ₹50 in local that has same taste.
Today, we had lunch. Totally unhappy, poor service. Dishes served for Meals very very poor. Quality of rice very very poor. They take 30 minutes to serve the meals. When asked for d delay in serving Meals, the Manager informed that rice is being boiled. Highly dissatisfied.
Fairly good food. Bit crowded as no other joint nearby. Great opportunity for some entrepreneurs to start a better place nearby.
Good service. Customer friendly staffs. Coffee is authentic filter coffee taste. Happy that Woodlands Krishna restaurant is back for service after lockdown period.👍
Yummy tasty food. This is the only restaurant in Chennai where South Indian meal is available even at night. The only downside is that the food here is a tad expensive.
Ordered 4 items overall -Medhu vadaiIdliPodi oothappamPooriIdli and the Podi oothappam were good.Sambar was good too.Onion chutney was a major letdown; it had coconut in it and the taste was just way off the mark.I went specifically to have a good vadai, and the vadai was averagePoori was thick and not great either. I dont think Ill consider eating here again :(
Woodlands did not let me down. We went there this Sunday at 7.30 am for breakfastAs usual the food was excellent. Their sambar and chutney still hold their swayHad traditional tiffin items like mysore masala dosa, sambar vada and Poori. One noteworthy point that I should definitely mention is the courteous service by their bearers which made our dining experience more enjoyable.Overall a lovely place definitely recommended
Worst service and waste of money! Full meals was not at all good. Not to go in our good moods and leisure times
Located inside Woodlands hotel, Krishna Restaurant serves South Indian food. It is a little on the pricey side but the food is very tasty and the portion size is good. Must try dishes include - Mysore masala dosa, special meals, cassata ice cream and coffee. There’s ample free two wheeler and four wheeler parking available.
Authentic south Indian Restaurant bit costly. Very good taste and ambience.
Very old restaurant in the cityNice food
Yummy food reminds of drivein woodlands
Absolutely SUPERB!! Affordable, tasty, fast EVEN on peak hours and hygienically prepared. What more could one ask of a restaurant? Though its veg, the food taste will make you wanna come again and again! The waiters arent intrusive, come only when called/needed and give you space and privacy. Overall, based on my experience, I would say this is the best south indian restaurant in chennai.
The best traditional, authentic South Indian restaurant in Chennai near to Gandhi Beach. Great to have aromatic Coffee after morning walk, or like we had old friends meet at beach and drop for delicious breakfast , also famous for family get together for sumptuous lunch/dinner. Bharat Modi with 1975 batch SSV school .
Awkward, Uncomfortable and tasteless experience coupled with expensive food and rude service.
One of the best south Indian food available in chennai. Clean tasty traditional and harmless. Very historical place. Our first priority for food is this hotel either in Chennai or Bangalore. Despite I am eligible to stay at any 7 star or suites, I prefer this hotel for food and ambiance and tasty cultural and traditional and very clean. Great food.
Tiffen items r good. Lunch is better..
Great food, Good service, Good ambience...
Excellent breakfast items.
Very good breakfast and sambar was very delicious surely would recommend but bit expensive
Methu Vada, Poori & potato, plain n ghee dosa was good. Coffee taste was bad n needs to be improved a lot..
Good. Taste is better.. Must try. But a pinch of salt is less in all dishes. Coz this is a meeting place for more older ppl? I dunno.
Excellent location, easy to access, parking facilities are good and easily Locatable.Great service and tasty food, comfortable seating facilities and clean wash rooms. Food is not too spicy and stomach friendly.Good place to take kids, the backyard is spacious for them for a warm up😋Been here couple of times and still loving it
Excellent food. We can get hot idli any time. Nice ambiance. Ample car parking in the heart of the city.
Good food
We have always had great experience at this establishment. The food is splendid, ambience is right, decent family atmosphere and delicious food. Overall the experience is great and we have been going here for so many years now for the above reasons. This restaurant is a must visit for anyone wanting to enjoy good food. The location is great and the parking is well managed. The facility overall is well managed and there are times when things get crowded especially when there are other parties being held on the premises. The one big thing to consider and improve is around cleanliness in the washroom areas which is not at par with basic cleanliness requirements, at times. I am giving a 4 star rating just to highlight this and I hope this gets relayed across for the right people to take notice and action it.
Nice restaurant. Good and tasty food. Courteous staff. But had a bad experience this time as the supervisor or manager who was supposed to allocate a table, forgot and did not even bother to find a place. Had to sort it out on my own, which was not expected. Maybe one off and individual related. Food and service were great.
Mysore dosa the best dish available.
Good food, great service ..lots of parking and helpful parking attendants. This is not a place to be missed. The Thali meals are tasty and reasonably priced. They used to end the meal with a banana which seems to have stopped these days - I dont know why. But the ice-cream and betel is still there ! Keep it up!
I have been here so many times. This place is warm and cosy and has remained same and unchanged from past 15-20 years. Yes its a old restaurant and i have been coming here from the time i was toddler. The best dishes here are1. Idli2. Mysore masala dosa3. South Indian meals4. Chana bhatura5. Basundi.Dont try any other stuff here as they are just average. These are the best and must have items.Food is not spicy at all and is palatable for most of the people. Someone looking for spicy stay away as food is not all spicy and is on a sweeter side.Overall ratings:-1. Taste: 4/52. Ambience: 4/53. Quantity: 4/54. Hygiene: 3/55. Price: 4/5Overall a good place, but certainly need to improve hygiene as the toilets are dirty and smelly and waiters many times dip their hands in the glasses and serve them us to drink otherwise a nice experience every time i go.
Clean and hygenic restaurant. Has good room facility. Also got a lawn party hall. Ample parking facility available for both two wheeler and four wheelers. Security personals available all time. Restaurant accepts only cash and card and no paytm or any other mode of payment accepted as of now. Food price is reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food offered.
Been here atleast a thousand times over the last 40 years. Reviewing for the first time. Reviewing Krishna is like reviewing my home food. Thank you Krishna for your consistently tasty food and for the continued warmth in your service.
Loved the place , ambience , food ,service and everythingGreat for a family casual lunchTastes like home
We all had meals and it was great. You need to plan well ahead and reach by 12:30, it gets crowded later on. Due to people waiting, the cleaner took my plate while eating ice cream and did not get to enjoy the sweet.
Krishna Restaurant is the worst place to buy food. Cheating people. Taste very poor. 80ml curd 47.5 rupees with tax 3.00 rupees. Total 50 rupees. How cheated is? I never heard this price for curd? Cheated..
For Vegetarians. Choose from South Indian, North Indian, Chinese or Continental. Place is bustling specially on weekends and holidays. Best time to be there before 12.45 pm for lunch and around 7.45 pm for dinner otherwise make sure you have a reservation. The food is consistent the cuisine is a bit Indian taste bud friendly. Service is prompt. But if you are ordering a Dosa ask the waiter to get it hot to the table. Their take on Sundaes is fun my favorite is the American Beauty, just figure it out. Excellent Coffee to end your meal The Madras Coffee at its best. Good for two or a group of about ten to twelve. Very good value.
Cleanliness is a big problem and prompt service is also missing. I felt I was giving food orders to four different waiters and consistency was an issue. Food was good but not upto my expectations.
Excellent family restaurant serving food in a very good ambience. Pricing though little high for quality and ambience its worth. Adequate parking facility available. Only disadvantage is you can book table in advance which leads to longer waiting period.
Good food, location and ambience. Customer service was good. The only down side is the price, it is bit too expensive.
Wonderful food, especially tiffin items, and service.I left my reading glass in the morning at the restaurant, and completely forgot about it.called to check if its there, they had kept it very carefully, and after checking if it was mine , returned it to me. Im very thankful for that.
Good and decent south indian food
Whenever we visit Chennai, this one is a must restaurant. Food quality is very good. The staff are super courteous.
The south Indian food here is consistently good. They never compromise on the quality. The service is prompt, sambar refills are generous. Their service is also quick. So if you have some place to be you can quickly finish food and leave.
Had the South Indian thali. It was delicious and substantial. The staff are lovely. Exceptional value for money, don’t be put off by the hotel thing.
Ambience is above average. Service and parking facilities are exceptional. But food standards needs improvement.
Nice homely food, as long as you get a table... Quite crowded most of the time. Meals are quite filling. Some of the curries can be quite oily.
For years I am eating here, the food suits my taste. And the service is great. You need not look for the staff but they attend to your needs
The variety and quality of the dishes and the service quality is generally good. Billing seems to be including double tax. The odd cost of dishes are not explained. No finger bowls while the wash basin is miles away.
Luxury south Indian vegetarian restaurant, nice location, food and staff. This restaurant is a reference for Chennai and vegetarian foodies. Dont miss it!
It was more like asking for free food at the weddingOne has to find his seat like in wedding -
I love eating in Woodlands hotel, Chennai. The thali is amazing. What makes it brilliant is that it tastes like home made food and no stomach upsets after eating.
Good restaurant. Udipi chefs. Tasty food. Slightly costlier for average middle class. Good food and fast service
One of the finest vegetarian restaurants in Chennai serving quality and tasty food though the prices are a bit on the higher side.
Good place to have food. Very good ambience. Very good place to spend family time.
Couple of years back, this place was the first go to option for family dinners or luncheons. Now the place has become old and worn out. The food isnt that great as it used to be. South Indian served is palpable, but any other food cuisine barely makes the cut. This place most definitely needs a revamp!
A very good veg restaurant in the heart of Chennai with a soothing ambience. Great food. Approx cost- Rs 600/- for 2 pax
Place is clean. Service is courteous. Food is tasty and prices are reasonable. Car parking is an added bonus
Excellent variety of vegetarian food at affordable rates. Well mannered staff is an added happiness
For outsiders one of the best place for food.
Good vegetarian Restaurant, food was delicious. Price reasonable. Very Good ambience and service.
Good food, good ambience.. nice location
One of the oldest restaurant in Chennai. High class vegetarian restaurant. Must try.. try out vegetarian meals. Try out Dosa varieties
Good decent hotel, slightly expensive, good taste, good ambience, excellent parking, good service, during weekends very crowded.
Nice South Indian food, good ambience and good service and parking makes this place a worth a visit
One of our favorite Sunday breakfast place. Good South Indian food. Miniature cars are an attraction here.
Mouthwatering tasty food delivered hot. Very nice ambience. Price Just fit your pocket
Tasty food, good service. Enough parking space. South Indian breakfast items available in the morning time (idli, Dosa, pongal etc)
This is the standard restaurant that I visit regularly with my family. The cooking style is very much homely and so far, there have been no tummy related problems after eating at this place. The ambiance is great and strangely enough, it is a place where most of the visitors are brahmins (may be because most of the food items are cooked with minimal spice!)
Nice Restaurant, catering to the Taste buds of typical South Indian customers. They do serve North-Indian food also. The taste of traditional fares Idly, Dosa, Oothappam etc are awesome. Fully Air-conditioned and clean Ambience. They also have a Tanjore Restaurant for South Indian Traditional Banana Leaf Lunch / Dinner. Good parking Space, on Cathedral Road, Chennai.
We went there for a small discussion along with coffee. We took a corner seat for our discussion. We were not disturbed by the service person and the ambience was good but not so pleasing. As the place was little cozy I felt a little noisy for the discussion. Also, I felt the food was little overpriced.
Over hyped Restaurant ...Not worthy waste of money....Chennai people must visit Annaporna hotels in Coimbatore for good tastey food
Not a great place to dine. Food was mediocre. Paneer was very sour. Service was decent.
Perfect location.. Courteous staff.. Vast variety of dishes..superb taste.. What more do you want..Special mention: falooda.. It was out of the world.. So magical taste.. U will fall into some other world.. Oh my God.. Such an incredible dish..I have been there manyyy times and hv tried almost all cuisines.. Everything on spot..
New Woodlands the standing remainder of the drive in woodlands. Great place for an authentic south indian tiffin. Ive been here mostly after an early morning visit to the Marina. Driving after having their pongal should be made illegal : D. It is very sad to hear that this great place is going to be shutdown soon(i havent verified if this is a fact though) for an apartment complex. Service is great so is the ambience.
Good sumptuous food. Takeaways too. Snacks are good.
Best service, meals is very yummy. Adept quantity, quality, taste. Clean. Worth the price.
Nice place to feed your hunger by beginning with a breakfast. Lots varieties of Dosas available from across the south indian region. Good food, nice staff members & overall wonderful ambience.
This is one of the famous and best restaurant for authentic south and north indian. Hygiene food.Ample car parking available.
The food we ate and the service we got were very good.
Taste was good but price is too high. I feel price can be reduced for the snacks.
Good food at a reasonable price . But service needs to improve..
Great food, excellent service, nice ambiance no delay for orders
Tasty and quality food and the prices are moderate. We had pongal and Butter Dosa which are really good. No combos available. Efficient service and clean environment. Car and two wheeler parking available. Situated inside woodlands hotel area. Worth visiting, if you are crossing RK Salai.
Tasty and yummy food . Restaurant was over crowded on Sunday . Dining is fine.
Nice place to enjoy south Indian authentic food. Nice environment. Service is also prompt.
This is my favourite restaurant in Chennai. It serves vegetarian South Indian food. Good for all day meal and snacks. It is located at Royapettah near TTK road. Dosa is the highlight of this place.
Hospitality very good but food taste and quality not upto the mark
Being a Mylaporian for more than 3 decades, Woodlands is a regular feature in our household from young and no difference in taste. My favorites are idlies, masala dosa their north Indian cuisine !
