Good Place for concentration for study and work. I love this place and all the facilities provided by Central Government. Totally silent and cool environment. Timing 8am to 6pm. Books Facilities, newspapers all things available here.

T S Central State Library is a place where you need to be the member of first and then you can issue books for a minimum of 14 days and I also joined as I have a reading habit and you will find every type of book to choose from your interest and improve your knowledge. Membership fees is one time fees and it was 526 rupee for me in 2021. I recommend to be the member of this library who have the habit of reading books. Children library is on the ground floor and for adults library is on the 1st floor and the next floor offers a section for you to reading place. There is entrance for wheelchair bound people also.

Government library situated in sector 17 Market chandigarh, good facility but timings are not good for students who wants read at early morning or late night.

Have been coming here since 2005. Great place for kids, teenagers and adults alike who enjoy reading. They even organised summer, winter and spring camps for kids before the pandemic.

Though it is government library but it is highly well maintained. Worthy not only for adults but for kids also.They organise different workshops for kids above age 8yrs.You can get book issued and also you can use study hall for studying .

Good place for study, Its located in sector 17 near DC office. Good infrastructure, every type of facility available here. Every type of book available here like Upsc exam book, pcs books, ssc, novels, newspaper, computer lab, Ielts books, all types of book there. Its AC library and staff is very helpful. Its membership card price only 500 rupees for life time. I recommend to everyone visit there.

Really a good place to go, there is a 500 rupees deposit for membership and 26 rupees extra for registration etc. And you can issue 2 books for 14 days (extension allowed once) and read as many books as u wish. Good atmosphere and facilities.

Peaceful place to studyLibrary is always crowded. Try to reach before 9 am to get seat of your choice.The reading room has no seat hogging policy so it is rare to reacquire a seat once you have left the place.The seats and table are in good condition with a few cubilcles for more privacy.Has lush gardens outside with seating.Timings are 8 to 8 on all days except gazetted holidays.Staff is very cooperative.ACs are not very effective though

Biggest library of Chandigarh having more than 50,000 books on each and every topic of interest. Excellent with central air conditioning system.Seperate reference section where you can read some rare books inside the hall. Seperate arrangements for senior citizens.

Problem is in timing..timing for reading hall should br 24*7. It will help everyone. Because present time due to covid is 10-6pm and before covid it was 8am-8pm for reading hall. Reading hall time should be 24*7 and if they cant do that then it should be 7am-10pm

Good place to study and prepare for exams, with free wifi and lots of books, newspapers, magazines to refer.I have been going to this library from last 10-12 years when reading place was just a small room, now 3 floor is fully dedicated to reading room, still crowded though. Secure your seat on first come first serve basis!

It is located in the middle of the sector 17 chandigarh. The library has a very good infrastructure and there are many sections in the library as Circular section, Reference section, Reading room etc. The library is always crowded and full as many students come here to study. It is heaven for the students who want a good environment for studying. You will need to take membership for studying in this library.

Really a very nice library. Books of all subjects are available here. A good range of books for competitive exams is available here. There is a large collection of novels here. If you are a student and doing graduation or post graduation then this library is a good place to find books. You can also issue books for a couple of weeks.

Great place to borrow and read books. You can also carry your books here and study. However to enter this library it is must to have a membership card. When getting membership you are charged ₹500/- and is fully refundable at the time of getting your membership cancelled.

The best place to study, equipped with all the latest books no matter the publication, exam or subjects. Proper led lights and air conditions make this place the best spot to study. The reference section has an american corner which has the best in class magazines and books, a readers delight.

Good place to study in peace...Environment is what makes u study urself..But there is a problem of seating arrangement, seats are usually full so sometimes we have to sit outside the reading section...But environment is just awesome for studying...Even u can bring laptops here as laptop charging ports are just near the study tables...

Earlier It was quite peaceful and great place for study....Even if u were so much stressed but as u entered the library premises u felt relaxed, motivated...Even now the feeling is same....But now it is changed into a gossip hub....Everywhere 3-4 people sit and start chit chat in aloud voice.Staff dont do anything.....They either sit for gossip or quiet....Now its a great disturbing area.....

Fully furnished ac with nearly enough sitting capacity. Sometimes overcrowded during University exams or others. Wifi available. Washroom good and great atmosphere for studying.

My favorite place to be in Chandigarh. Relatively peaceful but at times, those kids prepping for bank papers etc.cause nuisance..murmuring, discussing in a hushed tone or talking on phones. It would be very helpful if Library can add more books to Religion section- western religions, ancient Hindu, Buddhist and Jain scriptures

Perfect place to study

Place is very good and peaceful. Heaven for students, readers or competitive exam preparators. A wide range of books, magazines, newspapers are available. Children sections is stalled with wide variety of story books and kindergarten stuff. Ambience is good and location is bit puzzled. Also there can be a bit of parking problem or you have to park far away. Special sitting area for senior citizens as well as overall sitting capacity is good. Reference section is stalled with updates editions of books.

Good place, staff is also good, best time to get a seat is 9am to 11am in reading room, usually students are here for competitive exam preparations. If u want to spend some productive time - must visit n be an active member!! Thnx

Not responsive to your request for new books i placed a request for a book and they will take whole one- year and still it is not available. it seems, They dont get funds to get new books. Overcrowded place for last 4-5 years. Poor Wifi network.

This place is a heaven for reader and the students preparing for various competitive examinations. You will find all sort of books here but its little crowded but peaceful

I will not be surprised if someone calls it- the second shanti kunj of chandigarh.It is so disappointing to see couples having a hangout here and try to distract the studious children.The lamest way to start a conversation here is to ask a girl in library for which exam you are preparing and then ask for her help in the preparation. With time the mutual bonding between them overpowers the bonding for the books.

Nice place for book worms. Many have cleared UPSC examination studying here. It is a 3 storey building. Ground floor is for children library. First floor is for book referral and issues. 2nd floor is computer operator and book collection. 3rd floor is thereading room and magazine section.Most of the times seats fall short for students so come early to grab a seat.It is Air conditioned. Wifi facility available.500 is lifetime subscription charge which is refundable.

I am the senior mambers of this library since 1992. This library is the situated in the heart of the city beautiful Sector 17.all the hindi, Punjabi ,Urdu, English news papers and magazines are available in the reading section.An audio-video Aids Educational Media has been set up in the library for which infrastructure like Internet, LCD, VCR , audio visual aids with relevant accessories, smart Video Projector and cassettes on various educational subjects are played for the comprehension of the subject like science, geography etc. for  school students.Separate section for childrens below the age of 12 years.The library is already  providing service to senior citizen e.g no`q’ for issue/return of books. The library has planned to start a new service “Library at your doorstep” for senior citizens, who are members of the library.The library personnel shall deliver/collect the books from the residence of the senior citizen. They can also make requisition on phone about particular books information.

I was actually quite reluctant at first to go there for personal reasons only. It had nothing to do with the library itself. When I started going there, I got into the habit of arriving early to secure a seat. My friend and I studied there together. But as time passed, their rules became a bit suffocating (especially the new sitting arrangements) as did the reading room with loads of people who have no respect for your space and solace. If you study alone and seeing loads of people everday dont irritate you, then I would recommend this library over others. It comes with the option of sitting outside in the lawn in winters. I did like going to this place. But I have to caution you that some of the staff might not be what you expect, or maybe thats just me being me.

Not as many books of science as expected. And most of them are old. The staff is cold. And they pushed me out @6pm. So, I guess timing written on this page has issues. The thing which impressed me was the unending supply of cold drinking water. Some people were even coming just to fill their water bottles.

Sitting area is very neat and clean with all kind of facilities ,in addition all kinds of books are available here.
