I have been coming to this spa for many years. It is always so tranquil and calm, I am put into a relaxed state as soon as I walk in! I have seen Twyla for massages for a very long time and honestly cant function physically as well without her exceptional treatments. I have seen others in the clinic too including Terry, and they were all also fantastic. I have had spa treatments as well and they were lovely and enjoyable. Highly recommend this spa.

Ive been coming here for years for massage and have always had great service from several different massage therapists there (Ashley, Terry, Karen and Adrien are my go tos)! The complimentary tea at the end is a nice touch. They have customer parking around back too!

I havent had many massages but I dont think Ill want to go anywhere else. Only downside is they dont let you pass out and spend the night after how relaxed they make you.

I had such a great experience with my skin specialist for a facial. She knew my skin, asked the requirements and gave effective tips to maintain a routine. They never came across pushy or “too fancy” for us vibe , which you normally you’d get at some spas. I’d recommend their services to anyone long to rejuvenate their skin for a special occasion.

My service was excellent from start to finish. First visit today, beautiful environment. Best massage Ive had and Ive had many massages, and would consider myself picky. I was so relaxed and the masseuse listened to exactly what I requested. I felt she went above and beyond with service. The lady on the phone and the front desk lady were both pleasent and friendly. I was actually very surprised to see some of the not so positive reviews because my experience was top notch.

Expensive for what they offer compared to better places Ive seen in town.Not impressed at all with the service and the time management; just watching the clock for the end...if a customer booked 1hr massage, please give him 1hr massage not 50min.I also question technical competency of the staff if the masseuses really know what they do!For your benefit and for the love of God, please stop prompting customers to pay tips once you hand them the machine to pay, you are putting them on the spot with...I had to book another massage 2 days later to get what Im looking for!

Clean, tranquil and relaxed environment. Friendly front desk staff, and warmly greeted by our masseuses. We had Karen & Lisa for our massages, and have no complaints. They asked which areas wed like to be focused on and they did just that. We were offered a warm tea in a to-go cup. We left very relaxed and left with a lot less tension in our shoulders.Prices are fair, a teeny bit on the expensive side.I will visit again soon!

I initially had chosen this spa because it was close to my house and work. However, that has changed! I can honestly say Ive never had a bad experience or massage at Inner Balance. I dont understand how consistent their therapists are in their skill levels. Walking into the spa is really tranquil and calming. Ive never felt anything but welcomed at Inner Balance. I 100% would recommend anyone to go here!

2 stars is for the clean and nice environment. I feel like she is touching me instead of massaging. I voice out to have more pressure a few times and I still felt like a touch instead of massage .When I walked out the place and look at the time I realized the service was like 10ish mins less. Booked for an hour and shes late for 10 mins...will not come back again.

I have been to the Inner Valance Spa a few times now. Each time trying a different therapist, and each time have an amazing experience. They have parking on site which is great in Kensington. You walk in and are able to refresh with a beautiful fruit/herbal infused water (most recently orange and rosemary). The music is relaxing, the massage therapists professional and are very in tune with their practice. Prices are very reasonable. And your experience is finished off with a herbal tea to take home of your choice. Their packages look amazing and cant wait to try them one by one! Thank you!

Inner Balance has become my go-to for my massages. From the moment I enter to when I leave, it’s always been a peaceful, restorative experience.The front desk staff are friendly, inviting, and easy going, and the spa staff are experienced and clearly very knowledgeable.After your massage, they also offer you a cup of tea to replenish your body. Such a nice touch!The family that runs this spa also own and operate Small Space Gallery (right next door). This is a beautiful, cozy space that features artists and hosts pop-ups. This studio prides itself on customer experience every step of the way. The woman at reception recommended a therapist based on my needs. She also recommended a chiropractor when the therapist and I were discussing that option. I love the welcoming ambiance of the studio, it is always clean and calm. This was my first appointment with Terri and she was great. She listened to all my concerns and ensured she was using the correct amount of pressure throughout my massage. The tea at the end is the loveliest way to leave. Thank you for providing a customer centred experience every time.

Bright and spacious interior, courteous and hospitable staff, and very informative massage therapy staff. I dont think they contact insurance companies so you may have to talk to them yourself, but they offered complimentary elixir drink before the appointment and a lovely cup of tea after. Margaret was extremely informative when explaining different types of massage therapy techniques and benefits, and listened carefully during the initial consult.

Couples wellness massage. I was not too impressed as we did not receive/barely received a head or face massage. For a 90 minute massage, itd be great to have more time spent on the head and face.Instead there was about 10 minutes spent with a few extra blankets placed over us. Which did not do a lot to enhance the massage.The sauna and shower were very small spaces, so there is nothing extravagant in terms of getting 30 min privacy in sauna and shower. The massage room was also small and cramped. You can probably get way more for that kind of price elsewhere.My partner was looking for a deep tissue massage, as he is very athletic and active. He did not receive that despite clearly stating his preferences on the info sheet.Despite that the staff were friendly and professional. I suppose we should have asked for more time on head or face prior to everything but Ive had good experiences elsewhere without having to ask. I also like to leave the spa feeling like my muscles have been worked on. It was just okay.

Inner Balance Spa has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The massage therapists are extremely good, especially for prenatal. At the end of your visit they offer you loose leaf tea! I would definitely recommend this spa - one of my favourites in Calgary!

As usual going to Inner Balance becomes a great experience. From the warm greetings and welcoming tea until the last point of massage the whole hour is relaxing and enhancing. You feel totally rejuvenated and at peace. I cant hardly wait for my next visit to Inner Balance!

Ive been going here for about a year and it is always a great experience! The customer service is excellent and it is such a welcoming environment. The massage therapists always ask what I need and I always leave feeling so much better. The only downside is that they book up really quick, so remember to book way in advance! :)

Ive been to Inner Balance Spa a couple times and so far the experience has been great! Just recently, however, I came for a 60 minute couples massage and by the end of it we only received about 50 minutes of massage. I paid for 60 minutes but the 10 minutes went to them preparing the room and waiting for us to get on to the massage table. So a little disappointed in that but overall my past experiences were better than the most recent one.

A friend recommended this place after Ive been having some back soreness. Great experience from when I first walked in. Great customer service from the receptionist to the relaxing aromas when you walk in to the cup of tea you get on the way out. Ive now been a few times and had a couple of different massage therapists. One for whatever reason seemed a little short tempered.

First time client and I loved it! I have never had a massage where the masseuse really got into the knots and tried to work them out (trust me I have rough ones). I left relaxed, happy and the areas where I carry tension felt great for the first time in months :) Thanks!!

I have had a fair number of relaxation massages and they have been the same until I met Ashley. I am sure that I am not the only person (guy) who does not articulate problems well, so I simply ask for a relaxation. This time was different in that Ashley kept digging information out of me until she understood what I do (driving all day) and what problems that can lead to. Then targeted into areas where she found some very tight muscles. What a difference I felt the next day compared to previous massages. I had a great first visit and look forward to coming back and trying some other techniques and services.

Susan was great. She gave me advice about how to deal with my foot trouble Ive been sporting lately, the massage gave me some relief, finally. She was friendly and thoughtful as I mentioned it was my birthday. Thanks again.

Was a very good massage. But I didnt get the therapist I booked in and expected to see. No prior notification. I think they expected me not to notice or something as this was my first visit.

My wife and I have been coming here consistently for over three years. While we originally started coming because its so close to our home, weve stayed for the friendly staff who always remember us, consistent experience, and friendly customer service.

This is my go-to spot for a good massage in Kensington. You can book a 30 min steam prior to a massage - heavenly. I have had massages with Felicitas and Kaitlyn and both are excellent!

I received a deep tissue massage by Lisa. The massage itself was good, but one day afterwards I started experiencing severe lower and upper back pain. Its possible that she massaged too close to the spine or used an unsafe technique. I suffered from this pain for about 10 days, and still have some slight lower back pain 2 weeks later. I will not be going back to that place again, and have learned my lesson that deep tissue massage carries a risk, and it is not worth it!

Booked a 90 min. massage with Lisa. Came 15 mins. before the appointment to prep. Lisa meandered out 5 mins after the appt. start time and stood around the counter chatting with her last customer. Got started 15 mins. late. She then finished promptly on the dot of the finish time. Thinking that I was dealing with a mature professional, I mentioned that my 90 min. massage was only 75 mins. and I had waited a half hour to get started.When I arrived for the next massage Id booked with Lisa, she was waiting at the counter and told me Id been moved to another masseuse. The two following massages I had at Inner Balance were too hard and were perfunctory rather than therapeutic. The staff also had a resentful, petulant attitude. Really, grow up. Youre running a business.

Ive had several massages here because its a convienent location and they have parking. But each time Im a little dissapointed. Massages are ok but not great and i always end up feeling like I waded through an oil slick.

I gave this a mediocre rating based on my experience with a facial. Lets start with what went well: The spa is clean, warm and inviting. The staff are friendly. They greet you when you walk in the door. Products are displayed on the shelving and pricing is clearly marked. They also have a good website denoting services. You can do an online booking once you set up a profile. I had a few online glitches but the receptionist resolved them.I walked in the door with high hopes for my facial. Lets be clear: I have had many facials from high end hotel spas to clinic appointments at esthetic schools.Here is my gold standard for a facial*: a warm, relaxing room (quiet and dim lighting), possibly with soft music. The client is given a terry cloth wrap and the hair is comfortably and securely wrapped away from the face. During the treatment the esthetician explains her service and does not try to up-sell you at every turn; a simple recommendation will do. Components: cleansing, pore clean and blackhead removal (with steam), mask application, hydration and facial/décolletage massage. Nice extras: a private room, aromatherapy, craniotomy-sacral and arm massage as well as foot/touch point massage, and finally time to linger before changing (a shower facility is a big bonus).*this is not an impossible list. I have found these criteria at a massage and esthetician school!So, this is what went poorly: my technician was a massage therapist not a trained esthetician. The 75 minute session consisted of several cleanses and applications of hot towels and a 35 minute mask application that was tight, uncomfortable and itchy (think egg whites). Interspersed with a 5 minute BRUTAL deep tissue arm massage - NOT relaxing at all. I thought that a massage therapist would at least be able to master the massage part of the facial but it was sadly lacking. No cranial-sacral (ok, that is a nice to have). Oh, I forgot to mention the uncomfortable towel wrapped around my head with the knot at the back that gave my head a bruise! I did not mention the horrible music soundtrack that keep changing volume and getting cut-off or the blaring overhead lights in the room. There should have been a work lamp with cotton balls or eye mask during cleansing and deep pore work but all of that was absent. No steamer in sight!The mask got all over my hair and the technician spent a few minutes wiping it with a dry towel (???) but I was finding mask flakes for 30 minutes after I left.I shall not return for a facial -- I use the term loosely --- as it was simply an application of DMK product. This was not worth my time or the $115 expense. I only do this 3 times a year and it should be a relaxing treat...Perhaps their massages are better?? Why are massage therapists doing facials?
