Firstly, the mango, butter, cashew curry was very tasty. It was my first time trying such a dish 😋. The pakoras didnt last long 😋, and the chicken vindaloo was very nice 😋! The service was very nice. Certainly for the lunch buffet, which worked out to be $17.80 which was more than it should probably be. While the food was pretty tasty, the selection of dishes was pretty limited. The service was non existent, so we didnt end up ordering anything to drink as we couldnt find any server to ask. We only spoke to someone when we were seated and when we finally got someones attention to pay.Maybe dinner here is better, but lunch was pretty lack luster. Food was worth another visit, hopefully dinner is better.

Good Indian food and great service. The buffet is Bit small but varied selection: vegetarian, beef, lamb, chicken and salad. The butter chicken and tofu dish was quite good. The mango lassi was amazing! Probably best Ive had so far, highly recommend you get one. The restaurant is a decent size so good for small and semi large groups.

I and my husband were walking to go to copper brunch right across this Namskar restuarant. Smell of the food was so tempting that we ended up goin to Namskara restaurant. I am glad we went here, food was amazing. Food fills fresh and good quality. Service and staff was amazing as well. Oy one thing i didnt like much was there nana and roti. They were not as good as there other food. But overall food was amazing I would totally go back.Its close ti downtown. Parking is no isse here.

Last night was the first time we visited this fine restaurant. But It is surely not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the efficient service, with the magnificent food and wine and with the decent price. We will definitely come back in a short time.

After trying it and seeing there several Indian families I am 100% sure that it is true.We came exactly at 2pm when Namskar opens and the place got busy very soon. Namskar is beautiful bright place with simple but appealing nicely decorated and welcoming interior.We were served by our friend Arif.Knowing Arif I knew that he will be very warm and friendly because that is simply his nature. However I was very surprised that on top of that he was highly professional. Arif did not take our friendship for granted.He answered all my questions about their menu, served us promptly and he regularly checked our table the same way as any other tables.The food was supreme and served in beautiful dishes.We ordered appetizer, two vegetarian dishes and one dish with lamb.The menu contains many options and the meals are freshly cooked every day. I do not like too spicy so I asked what are the options. On top of non spicy choices Arif also let us know that they can make some other dishes medium so we had even more options to choose from.The three of us were not even able to finish this super delicious food because of a very generous amount.The prices are surprisingly affordable.We all agreed that Namskar definitely deserves 5 stars.We will be back for sure.Go there and enjoy ❣💥☕🍹

Wow. This place has exceptional food. The butter chicken was full of chicken! The coconut rice had real slivers of coconut. I was very impressed with that as it shows the details, care and authenticity that goes into the food. Definitely coming back for more!Highly recommended.

Namscar is open!!! We just returned this evening and it was absolutely delicious. We had the Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala, the meat was tender and moist with no gristle or fat. The Garlic Naan is by far the best I’ve had and their Mango Margarita was also a hit. I can’t recommend it enough and was shocked to see it nearly empty! Please go for a meal and help keep this amazing restaurant going strong.

Food quality was okay, but it was very expensive. I have eaten in all indian restaurants in Surrey and Vancouver but rates were never that high.

Ordered off of Doordash. The butter chicken was the worst ive ever had. It had no spices or heat (think bland tomato sauce). Also, the rice had zero seasoning, super bland and the mushrooms tasted like they came out a can. Not sure how they have a 4.7 rating on Doordash. Disappointed.Update: Was 2 stars but now it’s a one star based off the terrible owners response. Normally if your customers complain about your food, you try to fix it or make it right, not chastise them.

Friendly people and outstanding food. The baingan patiala is a unique dish that Ive never seen anywhere else and its so damn good, itll change your mind about eggplant forever. If you dont try it, youre missing out.

This place has excellent food with very good portions. We have tried this place 3-4 times during the COVID and every time the take out system has been exceptional. Some of the dishes are slightly sweeter than what we are used to, but that can be balanced out with the garlic rice or nan. Overall great value for the money and they don’t go cheap on the meat. Will repeat again...

Buffet or no? Some of the pictures that pop up show a buffet. You go on to their website and it mentions a lunch buffet but then goes on to say that opening is at 2 in the afternoon. And who knows what the lunch buffet costs since their is no mention of the price on their website. Anyway I passed on this place due to the inconsistencies of their website.

Hands down one of the best Indian spots in the city. Visited several times with friends and family. It’s the first place I recommends when I get asked for Indian recommendations in the city. Their kadhai chicken and dal makhni are particularly noteworthy. Excellent spot, I hope to see their business full after the pandemic :)

So, it was my birthday and ordered food from this place .it was a really frustrating experience and I totally regret it.The papdi chaat was not good, no yogurt in it and the chutney provided was very watery. The paneer butter Masala had hardly any paneer, it was 90% pepper with few cubes of cottage cheese. The vege mix hardly had any flavor. Will never order food from there.

There should be warning signs. The food at Namskar is so delicious- so vibrantly flavored- chewing too fast is a tragedy.*Peerless* Chicken Curry, steaming fresh Naan, and easy lunch buffet take out makes Namskar my favorite NE food spot.Budget some time and eat slow, this food is worth it.

When you come here, try not to fill up on the delicious warm, fresh naan bread (as hard as that might be) because everything else on their menu is fabulous. My “go-to” spot for East Indian cuisine in Calgary.

Today I need to update my review and give all my praises because Namskar deserves all of them.The food here is AMAZING. Consistently. I have been here plenty of times and have not ever once thought, “huh, that tasted better the last time.” Nope! The most consistently delicious dishes I’ve ever had at any restaurant. And the best coconut rice ever!!!!The staff are friendly, very polite, and knowledgeable about the dishes. The restaurant is clean and decorated with all sorts of cool things to look at. The beadwork wall art is gorgeous!Never change!!!

Dont waste your time ordering from Namskar. They even agree, they dont want your business.We ordered through Ubereats and after almost 2 hours of tracking our order and seeing an Uber driver assigned, our order was cancelled. I called to tell them that wed been waiting for almost 2 hours and told them we wouldnt order again and they said please dont. No problem!

The place is very hyped and overpriced. The food was very very sweet. We actually didnt really even ate the food and had to throw it away. Paid 25 bucks just on veg biryani expecting a lot and totally disappointed. The shahi paneer just tasted like sugar. Totally not worth it.

First of all their customer service was the worst. We ordered food with given special instruction to make spicy. But still food was too sweet. When we complained about that they were angry on us and behaved in very rude language. Please give some respect to customer who complained about food and learn how to talk with them.

I have been there many times and the food has always stood up for it self it’s always been first class went last night and quite frankly was very disappointed some of the dishes were ok but the butter chicken was the worst I have ever had Usually it’s awesome here it’s like the sauce was a soup the nan was ok the rice was ok I will wait a few months before going back perhaps the regular cook was not there but not a great hooefully it goes back to the way it was

I been a regular customer of Namaskar from many years and love their delicious Indian food each time I go and crave for more. The service is good, and good staff and cozy ambience. I was happy to go there today after two months lockdown and enjoyed eating the Goan fish curry, saffaron rice, aloo palak and gulab jamuns. Best Indian restaurant in Calgary for me.

Best Butter Chicken/Paneer in the city! When I lived in Renfrew, I visited here often. Now that we live in the deep south we still visit occasionally but it is worth it every time!

Always delicious - each and every time! A wonderful treat, and kid-friendly as well. I like the vegan options, and that it is not too greasy!

Conveniently located on 16th ave. By far one of my favourite places for Indian food, however they are on the pricey side. They serve a lunch buffet during lunch for around $18 per person but the food isn’t as good or as hot compared to when you order them el la carte. Their butter chicken is super creamy and more on the sweet side. They also have parking in the back.

The veggie manchurian is amazing. I really appreciate that they explicitly label vegan foods, it makes eating out so much easier. Most Indian restaurants seem to label vegetarian only, and its a pain having to ask about every item.
