Finding this place was easy, despite it having no flashy storefront signs or decorations. As you enter you are greeted by a clean and spatious restaurant floor, with backyard seating, bar area and an open kitchen. The waiting staff were very efficient and courteous, being there at exact times when youd need them. The Thai cuisine is probably not 100% authentic, judging by the level of spiciness of dishes, but its pretty close in terms of the variety on the menu. The quality of the ingredients and sauces was fantastic. Given a chance, Ill definitely stop here again for a good warming lunch on a gloomy cool day.
Ive been to Thailand and this food was all delicious. We went on a Monday evening and there was a decent crowd at this warm, ambient space. I, especially, liked their music wasnt pounding, so I was able to have a lovely conversation without yelling. The sticky wings had a wonderful flavor and it was one the most memorable Ive tried. The shrimp dumplings were delightfully tasty. The pad see yue was also perfectly seasoned along with fresh ingredients in the stir-fried rice.I highly recommend this well-established restaurant as they have a fully authentic Thai chef and kitchen along with staff, who were all quite welcoming as expected in Thailand.
Always a great meal at Joya!! Our waiter was awesome tonight as well. Cant wait to come back!
Love this place. Food is delicious, amazing prices, and always great service.
Best food on the planet, try the specials, and the staff is very accommodating and welcoming!
We went here for Mothers Day and what an amazing time. The food is full of flavor and very authentic. The portions are very generous in size and the prices are very affordable. Our service was amazing, very attentive, timely, and the waitress was on top of everything. The restaurant is beautiful inside and they have an open kitchen. Joya is located on Court St by Warren St. I highly recommend Joya if you are looking for great Thai cuisine.
Really great place and a very unique looking restaurant. The food was great and the prices are extremely reasonable. If you want a low cost but extremely satisfying date night meal. I would highly recommend.
JOYA Thailand Food is by far some of the Best Tasting Cuisine on this Side Of Town. Downtown Brooklyn on Court Street is a Pricey Neighborhood with Rent and Shopping is like Manhattan Prices. No Waiting to be served Inside/Outside Dinning Family Friendly
Outdoor seating was nice, but it took 10 mins for water...food came quick but my boyfriends broccoli was under cooked and didnt finish it because of that..my dish was great but I didnt think it justified the price point given the serving size. Would not come again
The food here is excellent. My friend exclaimed that he had never tasted noodles this good. The staff is attentive and nice. This would have been a five star review but Im pulling one start because of two things. They have only four less than exciting beers on tap, and if you order something at the bar you cant charge it to your table.
My husband took me to Joya for Mothers Day he knows Thai food is my favorite and the best choice is here. The ambience the service and the food never cease to amaze me! 10 thumbs up. You have to try them!
Been going here for years! Always good food, nice ambiance, and affordable. New commers should know its cash only though
Amazing food and service. I remember coming here for the first time 12 years ago as a kid and had to come again because it was such a great experience then and still is now.
Protocols in place, wait for 2 was not bad. Food was delicious! Dont be afraid of the spice. Flavor is there and the portions are perfect. Service was fantastic. Good luck
This is one of the best Thai places on Court St (there is a lot of competition in that area) AND one of the best in BK. Definitely worth your time and money. Has a cool vibe with an open kitchen so you are immediately hit with all the smells you want in your culinary experience. They also have a very cute yard out back, which is where we decided to sit on a beautiful April day. Tom Ka soup was extremely good, this was actually my first time experiencing it and it’s now in my all time top 5 soups. My friend had Red Curry Noodles - the dish was delicious and the vegetables smelled beautifully fresh. I had the Pad See Ew with Chicken. Amazing. Portions are quite large so I actually took the rest to go. Also noticed that the pour for all the drinks are also very generous so keep that in mind. Really fantastic experience and will highly recommend.
The food is delicious and tastes so fresh! Very price friendly and a great atmosphere.
This will always be my go to Thai restaurant. I’ve been coming here for 10 years and the quality has never decreased. Every dish on the menu is great, and I’ve had a lot of them. The place is always busy but you’ll never have to wait long for a table. The owners and waitstaff are also amazing. Will always recommend this place to anyone looking for a Thai restaurant in Brooklyn.
Service was good. Ate out doors. Food had just the right amount of spice
Joya is wonderful, great food, always constant. Decided to have lunch at Joya today because the space is big enough to socially distance; the ambiance is simple but beautiful.Non of the tables are distanced 6 or compliant with NYS regulations for indoor dining. Granted you can sit tables far apart and still comply.Sat at a table because we were the only guest there. Halfway through the meal they decide to sit a table right next to us. The table was less than an arms length away. With an empty space why would you sit guests onto of one another?Stick to takeout, the health of their guests isnt a concern.
REALLY IS THIS WHAT YOU “CHEFS” Go to culinary school for?! The first time the inside was RAW and mushy. I own a food business I know the difference. I asked them for it to be slightly a little bit more done for them to give literally a piece of burnt salmon that you couldn’t even break into. It looked even worse in person. I ordered the salmon, panagang coconut curry with White Rice. The CURRY WAS BLAND. It needed more salt and more curry paste. I will never return.August 8th, 2020
Great food, prices are good especially for the area and staff is always friendly.
Delicious food. Beautiful outdoor setting!
Highly recommend this place! I live in Manhattan so i have to make a trip to go to Brooklyn which is sometimes annoying because I get super lazy especially in the winter time. Anyways, went to Joya and had a great experience! It was my second time visiting Joya. Last time me and my boyfriend were drunk but we remembered that the food was awesome so we thought if we love this time again, it should be on our lists! Love the vibes and food. we had pad Thai, padseeyue and friend rice. Everything was soooo good. Haha the price was good, good vibes!! But the service was slow. Highly recommend!!!! I am not that thai food lover but I would love to try Joya again!!
One of my favorite places to visit all year round. I have been coming here since I was a little boy. Always an pleasant experience.
This place used to be good. Last time I was there food was okay, last time I was there (a week ago) there was blood on my napkins and plates. I bought it up to the manager and all I got to do was a sorry.
Best Thai restaurant around 100% would recommend
Food is always fresh, service is top notch. You can never go wrong at this place
Had a great lunch at this spot...the cocktail drinks was on point and the food was on point. Cant wait to go back there again.
Food was very good. Best spring rolls i had in a very long time. Customer service is pretty good
Love Joya! Especially their Pad Thai and mango salad. Tons of tasty options and a great back garden.
Excellent Thai, beautiful garden, reasonable prices.
Excellent food and good value. Service could be improved, but overall still a good spot.
I’ve been a customer for 10 years now. I have never been able to find another Thai food place that’s half as good as Joyas. Best dishes on the menu is shrimp pad Thai and the curry massaman. The calamari and curry puffs are the best appetizers on the menu. I recommend taking a look at their daily specials , they always switch it up to offer customers something new.
The restaurant is beautiful and the food is absolutely amazing. However the last time I went the guy working the register was not wearing a mask and was rude to the other employees when giving commands, so I’m guessing he was the one in charged. The other employees where very polite.
Joya is a great place to meet your friends for great food and a great glass of wine 🍷. Even better fora date night. The decor is beautifully made up of dim lighting and candles, really trendy. Everything we had was delious, our appitizers were curry chicken puff, glad noodle setting rolls, and calamari. For dinner i had the spicy flat noodles with shrimp and vegetables. My companions had, a catfish dish, pork loin with broccoli dish and a shrimp dish all served with white rice. Everyone raved about how good their meal was. They wouldve gotten a hand down 5 star rating but when i asked for a Mule cocktail the bartender said they dont have ginger beer. Super sad given that they were a fully stocked bar serving Lychee martinis. I wonder if they dont think Mules are fancy or trendy enough😱. I hope not
Been eating here for years before I met my wife and now we do with our kids!. The food is 2nd to NONE ! We are NEVER disappointed! The service is great and the atmosphere is very comfortable! My favorite restaurant.
Love, love, love this place!!!! The ambiance of this restaurant is so romantic and quaint. My friend and I come here whenever were in Brooklyn for work. The food is always fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!
First time dining today, but already a favorite! Heard great things about Joya before I came and boy were they on point. Everything was fresh, tasty, and generous portions. Happened to chat with the owner Andrew who was extremely helpful and made ordering and pickup so easy, I can tell this will be on our weekly rotation. Highly recommend!
Authentic Thai food with a hipster zing. When you walk in, it doesnt feel like a Thai restaurant with the open bar and lighting. However the food is on point, the pad Thai must be handled by chefs straight from Thailand. Its a perfect little restaurant to have date night, casual and not too quiet in case it gets awkward...I ordered the kang nuur (green curry) with brown rice at no extra charge. My girlfriend ordered the pad Thai. We also started the night with papaya salad and some fried calamari which makes every meal better. The servers were also very friendly and welcoming throughout the entire meal.
Nice ambiance, food is ok had better thai food
Perfect food, excellent service, good value.
Love Joya food always fresh and delicious reasonable prices
I get the same thing every time and it never fails: glass noodles with shrimp. It’s loaded with veggies so you feel healthy and satisfied afterwards
Cant say enough about this beautiful restaurant. Absolutely the best service around. The food is special and the serving is more than you can ask for
My favorite Thai restaurant but my experience today was the worst! The host at the front wasn’t welcoming at all! I used to be a hostess and customer service is everything that makes a guest want to come back if the customer service is great! The host at the front (Caucasian Guy) the first thing he screams is wait! you have to wait in the front! He had my son and I standing in the front of the restaurant for 15 mins. It was so annoying only thing that made me wait that long was the food. But the customer service was horrible today. He came to the table once and asked if I needed anything but never came back. Horrible all this man did was scream and was no help at all.
The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the courtyard is super cute. The dishes are very well-proportioned. But to be honest, it’s a little hard to believe a restaurant like this get such height review in a city like New York / Brooklyn. This is an American Thai restaurant and it’s really not about being diverse or authentic. It’s mostly just the dishes you can get from anywhere in the US. And the papaya salad, I’m afraid I have to say that is the worst papaya salad I had in my life.I mean, it’s ok, but it shouldn’t be a 4 start above restaurant.
Best Chai Ice Tea ever
Amazing Thai food. It is always delicious and very affordable. Must try the fried calamari and the mango salad.
Great experience
Fantastic vibes and super welcoming service. The meals were fresh and enchanting. Will definitely recommend this spot to others. Affordable rates and large meals. Great job.
We had a wonderful time eating here. Beautiful and warm ambiance. The food was delicious. I ordered two entrees and both were great. I look forward to coming back here again especially in the summer to eat outside.
If you want a tasty veggie meal, you can order any of their delicious entrees and request no meats or eggs. The plates are big enough for two people. I always enjoy eating here. The service is pleasant and the short wait for the meal is worthwhile However, I find that the seating to be a bit cramped.
Food is good. Service not to great. I waited a while for a server during the covid and it wasnt crowded.
I grew up eating Joya as a teenager when they opened, love the food and love the owners! Unfortunately I dont live in Brooklyn anymore and I miss Joya every time I eat Thai elsewhere
Great food and super cool little place theyve got. They can accommodate big groups but it might be best to go with smaller group. Service was pretty quick too. Only thing is they dont really split checks, they do a weird thing and will only divide it up between either 3 or 4 cards. Otherwise, really nice place with good pricing for how much food you get
My absolute favorite spot to eat at! Ive gone so many times and order the same dish (chicken thai fried rice) and it never fails. The amazing flavor and high quality dish is consistent every single time. Question, Will you guys still be open for take out for now?? please stay open!
Best Tai food in N.Y.
Always good. The food and sauce. Always cravings satisfied 😊 Friendly staff too.
Never disappointed! The food is consistent, hot and delicious. I love the calamari its light, crispy and never greasy. The sweet chili sauce served with it is so perfect I CANNOT go back to anything else. Main dish Portions are generous with tons of flavor. I have had the Pad Thai with skirt steak, shrimp or salmon all equally delightful. Be prepared to wait on a Saturday night, but its well worth it. Drinks are a mixed bag but still good.
Not a cheap Thai place.
Love always consistently good tasting food, quick service and great prices
If you want good Thai food for hefty portions at an affordable price this is the place. The food here is flavorful and the service is quick. They even have a backyard for outside dining when the weather is nice.
I have been going here since 2008! Same gr eww at tasting food through out the years! Seating options available front of store on weekends and back of store. Get there early to get the seating if your choice!
