We had gone to Sama Street on a torrential downpour day and seating outside was out of question. We also had our 22 month old with us and learnt that usually, Sama Street doesnt allow kids inside their restaurant. The host though was happy to make an exception due to torrential downpour and we got a very nice table inside for the 4.5 of us!We ordered a few cocktails and I got the Orion lager which was served in a can. For snacks, we ordered an extremely delicious (and a must try) Fries ($6) which has chaat masala powdered over it. For those who love strong flavors, chaat masala is a must try ingredient! We also ordered Baby Bok Choy ($8) which was good.For mains, I got the Fried Rice ($7) which without additions is a Vegetarian dish. Other dishes included Chicken Curry ($15), Chicken Gua Bao ($12), and Beef Koi ($15).Service overall was fantastic and we had a great time here. Will definitely visit again!

Came here last week with a couple of my friends and had the best time! They have new drink specials that are really good. For the hot summers day I highly recommend their frozen cocktail! Our group shared the fried chicken, grilled octopus, BBQ ribs, & flat noodles. All cooked perfectly. For drinks I would definitely suggest the Major Tom, 7 Long years, and to finish off with the Long Kiss Goodnight! Thank you Sama Street for a wonderful evening. Will definitely be back.

This place was superb on every level. It’s a “cocktail bar” in the description and the cocktails were amazing but the FOOD!!Eat and drink everything and anything. You will not be disappointed.

We were the only people in the restaurant and they ignored us for over 20 minutes and then served us the most vile drinks I’ve ever had . Feels like a bunch or teenagers running this place with daddy’s money.They openly laughed and were entertained by serving us those drinks. 40 dollars I’ll never get back.

Awesome new cocktail bar with great, sharable, interesting Asian inspired food. Cocktails are all strong and unique and the food puts unique spins on some classics like beef tartare. The outdoor seating area is very comfortable and inviting and the inside looks cool, too. They could do a little better with clearing plates and taking away dirty utensils (they left a lot of empty glasses and plates on our table for a while) and the table was a mess when dessert came, but those things can be improved. The large format fried chicken was just alright, not up to the standard of the other dishes. But I cant wait to go back and try more food and drinks.

Across the board excellent. We had the 7 long years drink which is a slightly spicy asian margarita with a complex twist. Very delicious and cant wait to bring others just to try this drink! The deviled eggs were delicious as well and even the attention to detail with the plates makes this place stand out. Give this place a try and you wont regret it!

Absolutely loving this new menu - both cocktails and food. I’m glad they kept some of the delicious mainstays from before- octopus and beef koi - but loving the pork rice roll, flat noodles and sabzi. My favorite cocktail remains the Major Tom but I have to say the Water Malone is absolutely delicious!!! Also love the Muay Thai. Service is always so nice and friendly. Even when they’re packed, they’re paying attention to everyone. Vibe is just right. Love this spot.

Great drinks. Fresh and enlightening

Finally a place in Greenpoint where the food is as good as the drinks. The chef at Sama Street can really make some delicious dishes and the bartender knows how to prepare and serve some awesome drinks.I enjoyed my time here recently one evening to cool down from the warm weather. The design has a great mix of different tables and chairs depending on your mood with a laid back and relaxed atmosphere.I started with the 7 Long Years cocktail thats made with tequila, green chili, pineapple, lime and I had the marinated cucumbers with miso, dashi, sesame and chili oil to go with it. Then I had something sweeter with the Pandana Coloda with pandan rum, coconut, pineapple and lime, to balance with the crispy prawns with spicy Thai chili sauce.I loved the My Thai Guy with mango rum, lorgeat, curaçao and lime, as it was an exciting combination for me and enjoyed it even more with the chicken gua bao. For my final drink I went with the Primal Instinct with rye, aged rum, tepache, pineapple gum and smoke, it was also the strongest drink so I took my time with this one and enjoyed two more plates as I sipped it down. The steak salad with gochujang marinade, popped tamaki, mint, cilantro, shallots and dried chili was definitely the spiciest dish of the night but so good I didnt mind the heat. The tender grilled octopus was also great with charred cauliflower, sweet sriracha, white aioli and bonito flakes it was a subtle mix and flavours and textures and a great way to end the night.Cant wait to go back and try more of the menu!

It was amazing! Took some of my friends and we all enjoyed every drink and entree. Each rocked my palate in its own way! Both owners (Rishi and Avi) were present and made sure our experience was memorable. Basic cocktails had a twist to them that I had never tasted before! The food had texture and style. Consistancy, blowing my mind with each item we ordered at the table. I know I will be back and you should check it out also! The experience was outstanding and very personal.

First time here and although they’re onlyOffering outdoor dining due to the pandemic I was blown away. I felt very safe with the experience As it was my first time dining Out again since the pandemic started.The food and drink were so on point and perfectly well balanced. If you could taste passion then I would imagine that is what Sama Streets food and drink tasted like.Check them out if you’re looking for great food, drink and customer service. It’s a rarity to find all three these days especially in what is considered the new norm in dining and hospitality.Keep it up Sama Street!

These cocktails are too good, you must try one! The Coconut Companion comes in a whole coconut: what a great surprise! The 7 Long Years is savory in a way where it tastes like a whole meal. It was very fragrant and interesting to try.The fries are the thin shoestring fries, which are my favorite, and topped with Indian chutney spices. They taste like bikaneri bhujia snacks, which transported me back India. It’s a large enough portion to comfortably split with someone over drinks.It was my first time dining out post-quarantine and I felt very safe because there are high plastic barriers between each table. You don’t overhear the conversation of another table and it protects you while people remove their masks to eat. There are no menus used, just QR code scan on your phone to their website. Very cool! Definitely coming back to try more dishes on the menu.NOTE: Seated App only applies for deliveries or takeout.

Great food and craft cocktails

The cocktails and food are delicious. Last time I visited I was at the bar with my wife. The bartender did a great job with service and the drinks. Im a big fan of getting a mixture of small plates to share and this is an ideal spot for that. Good atmosphere and simple decor. Highly recommend.

This is one of the best cocktail bar in NYC. It’s hidden in Greenpoint brooklyn. We almost had all the cocktails from the menu. Foster is the bartender of the day. He is a very cook guy and knowledgeable. None of the cocktail is disappointed. Every cocktail is unique and well balanced. I would say this is more like a relax mixology bar than your regular cocktail bar. Definitely will come back again!

Amazing drinks

A gem in Brooklyn and worthy of a short trip over the bridge. The food is excellent but the drinks are out of this world. The drinks put a fun play on well known cuisines, dishes, flavors and spices. Put this on your list

So so good. Came for drinks and food. Lets just say, pants were unbuttoned to allocate more room for more food. Ordered 5 dishes ($50) and 3 drinks ($50) for two of us. Our favorites were the buns with crab and the steak salad. If I could eat these daily I would. I wish I could. If only they published their recipes online....Also, as a note, in the back there is a lounge area with couches/comfy seating. Great place to grab (albeit, expensive) cocktails w friends.

I highly recommend this place if you havent been here. Its the perfect spot if you want to chill with a couple of friends on a night out or even take a date there. I dont really drink, but looking at the menu I definitely had to try just one. I had the Major Tom which was excellent. Paired it with the pho. It was the perfect meal.

Came here on a date with my wife recently and had the best time ever. Cocktails were out of this world and definitely don’t skip out on the food. We shared the octopus, fried chicken, and loatian sausage. Amazing! That’s all I can say.

Genuinely some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had and an incredible atmosphere. Between our party we made it through probably 10 cocktails, each worth writing home about, and immediately started planning our next visit. The menu is extensive with a great variety but every drink is complex and considered. We asked about the menu and were told every one is original to the restaurant and designed by the bartender David. It was a wonderfully comfortable place to spend the evening. We had no issues hearing one another to talk, but also enjoyed lounging back, enjoying the music, and getting lost in the cocktails. If you have an opportunity, I can’t recommend Sama Street highly enough.

Wow. Yes. Finally. Greenpoint needs a place like this with a good vibe, great drinks, and excellent food. I came here with friends and will be coming back for some dates. I have A LOT of dietary restrictions and still had such good options to choose from. I LOVED the mushrooms, cucumbers and veggie bun. My table ordered the octopus and mussels and were delighted with their food.I live around the corner and havent been this excited about a new restaurant in a while. Keep it up Sama Street. Look forward to exploring the menu and also coming here for brunch on the weekends.

Best cocktail bar Ive ever been too.... Hands down. I tried the octopus and lamb chops, honestly, one of the best things Ive eaten in a long time. Very rarely do I come across a place that has amazing food and cocktails. But Sama Street has both.

Cocktails are inventive and so delicious! Service also very attentive. I loved the bao buns and the papaya salad. I think the fries were a little stale but the flavour was great - my wife has spent a lot of time in India and she said the taste took her back to India, so in that regard the fries succeeded.Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Fantastic experience. I had the peppers, spiced fries, Gua Bao, and crab salad. It was all wonderful! (We were sharing with a large group, but def wanted it all for myself). Ambiance is beautiful and the owners are warm and welcoming. Drinks are well balanced and delicious. I drank a “Slow Boat to China” and thoroughly enjoyed it. Planning on going back soon!

Sama Street is definitely my new favorite bar to frequent in the greenpoint area. Their ambiance mixed with amazing cocktails and food are the perfect ingredients for a great night with friends. They have perfected an Asian menu that takes me back to my travels in Asia. Some highlights from my night there were trying the Eastern Medicine, 7 Long Years, chicken lollipop, and Gun Bao.

Awesome spot! really interesting cocktails and a great menu. i love the concept. they really have captured the asian streetfood vibe, and then brooklyn bougified it in the best way possible.ive spent a lot of time traveling around asia, and for many of the dishes at sama i could tell exactly where the inspiration came from. their reinterpretations of all these classics really are creative and delicious while keeping true to the originals character. my personal fav was the grilled octopus inspired by japanese takoyaki.also +1 for having beerlao!
