After waiting 3 hours and no sign of delivery drove to collect order. Got the food home to find raw lamb in one dish, one dish had so much cinnamon you couldnt taste the food, the third dish prawns all stuck together. Phoned to complain and told couldnt do a refund because ordered through umber eats. They said theyd redo the order but didnt fancy waiting another 3 hours. No apology. Poor customer service. Will complain to food standards agency. Will never order from there again, If youre thinking of ordering from here i suggest you dont. Plenty of other curry places nearby.

Best curry in the area, when you order online it does take a long time to be delivered, but if you visit them youll see why, they are SO unbelievably busy due to them being so popular....in other words its worth waiting for. Their kitchen has so many staff working hard

Surprised at some of the bad reviews so thought I would leave a review.Food from here is outstanding, the portion sizes are on American scale, food tonight we was missing a dish, within 5minutes the dish plus extra arrived, cant fault that at all. Couple weeks back we had big order from here as family moved back from Canada and they are still raving about how good the food was. Keep up the good work guys 👍

Best in south west Brum!! Vast choice of dishes. Portion sizes are really generous. Great lads taking the orders over the phone. Loads of other take aways closer to home but well worth the 2 / 3 miles travel from my house to pick up (they do deliver btw)

They were so patient as I kept messing up my orderProfessional staff and I will add more when delivered and tasted but so far perfect had now still 5 stars delivered in the time stated food was hot delivery driver very nice only down side the ticka masala was too sweet for my mrs but thats a pallet choice but over all best Ive had for years food, phone service and delivery guySo pat your self on your back all of you

Food is great, but theres been a fair few occasions where theyve delivered late. Ive stopped coming in for collection as Id often be waiting more than 20 minutes after the collection time, and today we were waiting 2.5 hours for our delivery

Big portions always busy varies in heat i gave madras sometimes really hot 10 next time 6 on the heat table lovely consistency sauce,nans really nice

Been going to simla for ages now and though they had problems at one time they are amazing their food is nice, their delivery is always on time or early and food is always cooked nicely and never cold.

We just love the food from Simla! We have a number of food allergies and have never had a problem with the food. They take our special requests in their stride and manage to omit coconut without affecting the flavour of the food produced. My favourite is one of their chefsSpecials is chicken apricot Murphy. A very mild flavoursome dish. They have an amazingly vast takeaway menu. We wouldnt go anywhere else for a delivered takeaway!

Ive ordered through Uber Eats based on the good reviews, however rice was burnt, chicken & lamb - driest meat Ive ever tasted. Let alone more than 3 hours waiting time. Disappointing.

Bought a meal for the family and traveled 4 miles to collect as they had such good reviews. Got the food home only to find no rice 😡 meal completely ruined and when I tried to cal there was no reply. Will not return now out of principle. Review left to advise if you collect check before you leave to avoid disappointment

PLEASE DONT order from here!!We waited over 3 hours for our food to arrive. Called the shop plenty of times and when we did get through the man was very rude telling us we had our food when we didnt then hung up the phone. The whole was order was wrong as I got a korma which we didnt order and missing items as well. We ordered a chicken madras and received some random dish, onion bhajis were missing completely and got plain naan Instead of garlic. Shame as we was new customers.

A regular user of this take away and just can not find a fault with it, absolutely amazing, delicious, hot, fresh food, and loads of it.. would not hesitate to reccomend it to all. 👌👌👌👌

Food has got worse over time we ordered last week first time in 5 months and we can see why we havent ordered in that time defo wont be going back, also always check your order when I gets delivered as they seem to forget parts of the meal. No care taken which is a shame because it was one of the best in the area

Iv been eating Indian food for over 40 years and the food from simla is very poor and will not be ordering again I found a piece of plastic from the container within the starter. I did order a Madras but it wasnt spicy at all just meat in gloop I didnt want to add a star but it will not let me post without one.

The upsetting thing is the food is amazing however this is an appalling lack of customer service. I ordered at 18:21 I was then given a 20:10 delivery time. That is not a problem if the restaurant is busy fair enough. However 20:10 comes and goes. At 20:15 when I phone I get an engaged line and attempt phoning every 5 mins: engaged line no answer, engaged line no answer. When I drive to the shop at 20:50 40 minutes after my delivery window. I wait in a queue and explain the situation. They argue the problem is with Just Eats unreasonable delivery periods?!? (They only had nearly 2 hours to make and deliver a meal for two). I ask why I received no phone call, no update, nothing. Not even as much as an apology offered, no offer of a discount. Or well take some money off next time. So paid Ive £3 for delivery collected myself due to being 40 mins late with no contact and an unreachable phone line and not even a apology. Wont be using again!

Food is always fresh,tasty & good portions but don’t order from here if you are hungry - you will have a long wait for delivery . Ordered at 6.05pm arrived at 8.40 😳 after being told 50 mins to an hour !!! 3 stars simply for long delivery time , food was 5 star

Hair found in the starter, mould found in the middle of the chicken. Asked for a refund....told me they would resend the order.......why would we want the same food when we question the hygiene?....will not be ordering from here again. I suggest you save yourself disappointment and dont order from here either - still no refund received. Appalled by the customer service of this place. Hence the poor review.

Really nice curries not just thrown together like some curry outlets . If you know your curries and even if you dont . You will not regret ordering from this one .

Simla is by far the best Indian that I have ever come across. Any other meal is a toss up but Ive tried to find better than Simla and failed repeatedly. There can be a bit of a wait at peak times but the food is well worth waiting for. I dont even think about other places to order from when I fancy an Indian. This place is on speed dial.

Driver didn’t ring doorbell but instead left a voicemail saying ‘come outside and get your food’, which we only listened to10 minutes later. At which point, food was back in the restaurant. Then called the restaurant and they denied it...Previous curries have been pretty dry and tasteless but we’ve given them the benefit out the doubt. Not anymore...

Never received order after waiting three hours. Ordered through uber eats. He stated they apparently knocked a few times. I live above a shop and you have to buzz in so no he never. He was arsy on the phone. Wont be using again. Hungry and money down!!!!!

Great food, this is not your standard Indian takeaway where everything is cooked in variations of the same sauce. Dishes are distinct and have real fresh herbs and spices. Delivery can be slow but its worth it as the food is fresh

Have used simla for a long time now. Always found to be excellent but due to isolation ordered through just eat. Ordered 5 main meals and 4 nan breads. Dissaponointingly the containers were only half full. The onion salad we had 2 small pots between 5 and same with yoghurt dip. 5 poppadoms all smashed to pieces.To say i was disappointed is a bit of an understatement. Definately not the value for money I am used to from them.

For a few years now I’ve experienced good service from this restaurant and really enjoyed the food and spent a lot of money with Simla, but last few months the service as fallen, each week I order a takeaway and they say a time for collection and it’s always late, and don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind waiting 10-20 minutes but when you order 1hour before, then you arrive to collect and you wait another 40 minutes as well to witness the kitchen staff being broken up from a fight by a delivery guy & reception staff turning away customers because of the waiting time.So when my food finally arrived, I said to the reception man, sorry don’t know his name, he always where’s tight long sleeve tops, it’s pretty shocking really, His reply was if you don’t ! Like it ! Go to other restaurants as he pointed me out of the door ! Very badly managed !So Unfortunately i won’t be spending my money with this company again.Gary Wilson

Food is fantastic. Delivery orders can sometimes miss extras off in my experience but its because theyre so busy being so popular. Delivery time can be slow again due to being so popular. Would recommend picking up.

Ordered online via Simla website. Was informed a 75 minute waiting time. Website does a countdown 15 minutes after eta I called and was told I should ring after placing online order as delivery times are 2+ hours safe to say this defeats the object of ordering online if you still need to ring. After call I had an email to say order confirmed so they hadn’t actually began preparing my food. 2 hours + delivery time I personally don’t think is acceptable and should be stated when ordering as I would of taken my custom elsewhere. Still waiting for my food now. Will not use again.

Ordered the food at 7.45pm still waiting at 10.45pm...Phoned shop twice only to be told ‘were busy, it’s on its way’. Clearly lying because we’re still waiting 3 hours later 🤬🤬🤬

Simla has to be one of, if not THE best Indian takeaway that I have ever been to!Ive eaten here quite a lot since moving to the local area, they cater for every level of spice intensity ability, and have a small selection of English dishes for those children who just wont eat any food with even the slightest hint of spice!The food that they cook is delicious, you can tell it has been freshly cooked and the flavours that come through really compliment their cooking ability.Little wonder then that it had been voted the 6th best takeaway in the UK and the 1st in Birmingham.A little tip though, if you do decide to try out this wonderful restaurant, try and call in and collect, not only do you get a discount but you will get your food a lot quicker than ordering and waiting for delivery.

Tells me 2 hours for my delivery 2 HOURS still never turned up !!!! Rang and said 3 hours!!! Please dont waste your time , bad food and bad service only ordered cus we were in the area !!! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Reviews seemed good and we ordered some stuff on Uber eats. The restaurant called back 20 mins later and told us off for ordering from a place that was too far for them to deliver. Really horrible and rude customer service and we won’t be ordering from them again!

So disappointed used simla for 6 yrs plus .Tonight curry was over an hour late , starter was cold, naan was very doey and cold and curry sauce was very thick and no poppadoms.It was the worst curry we have ever had if it was the 1st time ordering it would be the last..I hope this was a one off!.....

After seeing all the good reviews decided to order. Where do i start the scampi starter described as nuggets of lobster in batter is nothing more than the cheapest scampi in breadcrumbs. Ordered a mixed biryani veg sauce was fine the meat i could have use for the soles of my shoes. Phoned before ordering as the butter chicken isnt online but said to order a chicken tikka masala as its the same price and to put in notes change to butter chicken still sent a masala. Pakora was dry as a nuns c**t. But poppapdoms was bang on.

Saag Paneer was quite dry,Tikka Masala was incredibly sweet and not really enjoyable.Naan was kinda tough too.I’ve heard great things about this place but it just didn’t do it for me this time; sorry guys!Would still be willing to try it again and order different items, review will be amended accordingly if it’s better next time.

Plain and boing, lamb in my curry was overcooked and dry as bones Stuffed naan was barely stuffed with anything at all and best of all I was woken at 4am being sick.
