Lunch menu ok for £13 . Staff service execllent and warming Go for the grilled fish takes 10mins beautiful spicy I had it with peppers. Beef stir fry not the best but the sweet n sour chicken makes up for that disappoint 😊. Veg spring rolls better then most Chinese places, and the beef pepperoni pizzas and plain cheese one delicious. BBQ chicken wings nice but alil tuff. Steamed fish with veg not nice too bland. Grilled chicken strips could off been seasoned better

We went to visit Christmas market and after that decided to have some hot food as it was really chilly Friday night. Decided to check out Jimmy Spices and was totally worth to visit.Food was really good and the grill options was vivid and you can have as much as you like. There were vegiterian option which was adequate and some Indian Street food was delicious. If you have a big family or office outing or any birthday celebration worth to go there because its quite a party place. Not very quiet for romantic date night.Though the service was average and not very special but the price was really good considering a Friday night. Totally recommend the restaurant.

Well after not coming for a number of years thought Id give it a shot. Wasnt happy about the food on my last visit but that said this time round the food wasnt bad all. The starters could do with some improvement in terms of heat. From the counter to the table the chicken wings werent hot. Thats 3 different variations. Other starters were in the same boat not hot at all. I went into the area where the chef will cook your food. I opted to have the masala fish... Lovely flavour and cooked just right. Had a mixture of mains all of which was much better. Hear and flavour. Not too spicy and not too mild either.Staff were friendly enough and price was reasonable. Would I go back again? Yup but not in a rush

Highly recommend Jimmys Spices to any fan of Asian food visiting Birmingham, there is a great range on offer in the buffet really something for everyone! Everything seemed to be clean and there were plenty of staff around to help if need be. Our plates were cleared from the table quickly whenever we went up for another course. The place could do with a bit of a tidy up in places with the decor being a little tired but over all the food made up for it. Will happily return on next visit to the area!

I’ve been going to Jimmy Spices in Birmingham for almost 15 years now. It has changed through the years but overall it has maintained a good variety of dishes, including Indian, Chinese, Italian & Mexican. The quality of the food is good. This place is suitable for vegetarians. There is a huge selection of drinks, including cocktails. We had a jug of the pina colada during our last visit & we thoroughly enjoyed it.It is an all you can eat buffet so you can be sure that you’ll leave with a full stomach. It is good value for money. The waiters are friendly and polite. You do not usually need a reservation as the seating capacity is pretty big. This place is ideal for birthday parties. It is also child-friendly.

If you are very hungry and want to taste a wide range of cuisines, this is the place for you. Its a buffet - offering a wide range of dishes from veg & nonveg curries, starters, dosas, indian breads, pastas, pizzas, momos, salads, cakes, pastries, ice creams and more. Drinks are also available, which is outside of the buffet cost. Buffet cost ranges from 10 GBP to 15 GBP depending on the day and time you visit. Nice ambience. Will surely recommend this place.

I attended the restaurant with my friend yesterday. We arrived with 4 minutes to spare before the 241 cocktail deal ended so we ordered 8 cocktails in total. One of the cocktails was incorrect so we sent it back but a replacement cocktail never arrived. We ordered our food and advised the waiter that the noodles needed to be mushroom free as my friend is allergic and if she eats a mushroom she will be hospitalised. The 1st round of food arrived and before we could even finish a plate it was swiped away quicker than a seagull after chips at the beach! The next round of food arrived, which contained the noodle dishes. My friend went to tuck into her noodles and spotted a mushroom hiding, I called the Waiter over & explained the issue who just nodded and took the plate away. No apology or anything was made. We asked for the bill, and upon checking we noticed we had been charged for the cocktail that you had taken away at the start of the night, we also pointed out that the issue with had with the mushroom incident. The waiter said he would give us one free cocktail andΒ  a glass of water for my friend to rectify the discrepancies with our bill. This was unsatisfactory, therefore you removed the cocktail we didnt have from our bill. You had then cheekily added a Β£3 service charge - which wouldnt normally be an issue, however with all of the above in mind. No tip was being given. Before we exited the premises we used the bathroom facilities, where we witnessed a female staff member attend the toilet, pick a spot on her forehead AND not wash her hands, and all this happened whilst she was wearing her gloves! She then proceeded to head back downstairs and serve food from the hot counters. We brought this issue to the attention of a so called Manager, who was taking note of everything we had said, bearing in mind we are in a global pandemic, the Manager was wearing a facial mask UNDERNEATH his nose... Alot of the Staff were also doing this. Much to our disgust we will not be returning here! We do not feel that what you done to compensate us was satisfactory enough, and the whole incident in the toilet is another matter on its own. That is a major breach of Health and Safety in which running a restaurant and serving food your staff should have known better, however they are clearly uneducated and need some serious training on these unprecedented times.

Unpleasant experience. The help yourself buffet no longer exists due to ongoing covid19 situation and instead you are given a sheet of paper for starter main noodles and dessert. You can mark your selection and it’s delivered to your table. It is mentioned that you can choose up to 3 options from each sheet and we thought up to three for each person but the waiter advice up to three per person but not more than 5 per table. That was unpleasant as we were 4 people and we had to pick no more than one for each. The other issue was the long waiting time between courses which make it tricky to vacate the table withing two hours and had to cancel the Deseret.

The pizzas tasted like the Β£1 Iceland ones and they dont wipe the wok after making food for people so your food just tastes like the last persons. Me and my 2 sisters all got different variations of noodles but they all tasted the same with varying levels of spice. Appallingly slow and very poor service, not one staff member asked if the food was okay, if we were happy, would we like another drink, would we like more food, the food was just stone cold, end of, the only slightly warmer food was the chicken wings, the Lamb Lasagne especially made my stomach upset because it was so cold. As was the Meat Feast Pizza although why that was spicy too, when it didnt say so on the order slip, I dont know, it was simply inedible, my sons piece since the portion served wouldnt constitute as a decent sized whole slice, let alone one cut in half as was attempted, his portion such as it was, was clearly burnt. The Butter Chicken, too cold too, and over added to with cream I believe making it colder still unnecessary addition. This is food thats supposed to be prepared and served in front of You. My son and I had a perfect vantage table, yet despite being front and centre directly in front of the bar therefore in staff eyeline at all times. It took an hour and a half for our meal to be served in its poor entirety consumed and unfortunately paid for. Ive been twice since theyve reopened after the lockdown and its not a pleasant experience. I only tried a second time to give them the benefit of the doubt, but no they insist on playing not only Pop Songs but different cover artists singing the songs, and its so loud that as a Hard of Hearing customer I had not only problems hearing the staff but communicating with my son. The Onion Rings werent even warm nor the Chicken Tikka bite portions. The dessert slip states clearly a selection of fresh cream cakes. What a lie ! We had one miniscule piece each of a single cake only and two paltry sized scoops of strawberry and chocolate ice creams. Save Your Hearing Patience Stomach from Upset and Your Money. Steer clear. The service is terrible. The food was hotter and better quality by far therefore clearly more enjoyable when One could use the Buffet and help Oneself. One now feels victimised at their mercy to keep You waiting for ages for service and then they serve cold dishes.

I had read the sign outside that food was going to be more expensive, but then I had about three members of staff - literally one after the other - reiterating the price, as if they wanted to get rid of me or me be intimidated by the price (I wasnt). Then when I asked for a napkin the person said she would get one but ten minutes later slowly walked passed me and smiled. I ended up getting one from the bar at the end. Same person above, when I asked for a drink didnt get me a drink so someone else had to be asked. They also sit adults with families, so please bare that in mind if you dont like sitting next to screaming children.

I like the concept of these world dish restaurants but its usually the case of too many dishes not enough authentic chefs or time. This Jimmy Spices on Broad Street has mainly Indian chefs and dishes with a few other choices of Chinese, Italian and fresh to cook foods. The fresh fish choices are uninteresting with either just a Cajun coating or nothing at all to go with them. They offer fresh prawns and mussels which is a nice touch but with no sauces they are a bit odd to eat on their own and not very enjoyable cold. My daughter enjoyed the sushi on offer and a lot of the Indian food was very tasty but the rest of the hot food lacked flavour, love and zazz. They have a clay oven for pizzas but The base somehow still ended up soggy!? The staff are rude and have no customer service training what so ever but if the manager we met on our day was anything to go by he had no customer service himself so its no surprise his staff havent. The work station chefs would chat in other languages between themselves and seemed completley uninterested in the customers needs. The Tapanakyi was for me the best live station but still lacked feeling or care. The saving grace of this restaurant has to be its pudding choices and location, right on the canal. We enjoyed a lovely view from our table of moored boats and the cube whilst tucking in to Candy floss, sweets, ice cream and marshmallows. We visited on a Sunday when children under 10 eat free but 3 Adults and soft drinks still totalled around Β£50. Oh and they tryed adding a 10% tip of Β£5 to the bill too which my husband told them to take straight off! If the food and service had been good we wouldnt of had a problem with it. Overall, we wont be visiting again. Ive been to much, much better for less money and better service. Samosas were off, with strong sour smell. I felt sick. Sweet and sour chicken tasted as a microwaved frozen dish. Desserts very limited with funny taste and extremely messy. Not coming back.

Great place for a quick lunch. Plenty of choice on the buffet menu and at a great price. Good variety of starters and mains as well as different cuisines. Nice selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non. The live section they have around the Xmas time is worth a try.

From the outside, its not much to look at but inside its a very roomy and modern building. The selection of food is exquisite, offering dishes from any region you can think of. The quality of the food is consistent and delicious- only downside is that it often gets quite busy, leading to some queues waiting for food, especially some of the dishes that get cooked up for you.

We - my host and his lovely family, my wife and I - dined at Jimmy Spices on 19 September 2019. The place was nice, spacious and well arranged and there were good varieties of food to choose from. It was a great place to be.

Place is good... Less vegetarian options... people who eat non vegetarian loved it as I went with a big group.... they have a big grill section where they grill stuff u want eat in front of you... however they grill the veg and non veg stuff on the same grill which was disappointing as a vegetarian person wont be willing to eat it then...

The food here is really good. Especially the grill station where you can pick which meat or fish you want and the chef will grill it for you! Also the food is really fresh and tasty. The only bad thing is that the desserts here are not as good as I would like to.

Great price for an all you can eat.We come here as a large group whenever we come to Birmingham and love it every time.I was a little sad that the minute steaks were swapped with burger patties last time but its not the end of the world. I just hope that it isnt a permanent change.
