A museum, which is enormous in size. It has display of types of huts/residential area of various tribes of India. They all are built by people/artists of that area. So also there are in door exhibitions. Highly educational but it is so big that you need a car to visit each and every area. The road signs are confusing, you feel as if trapped in some maze! The exhibits are accompanied with information boards (they are also in Braille! I wonder if any blind person will come to WATCH the exhibits!!) Guide are not available. It pours such a great amount of information, that after some time your brain fails to register and understand it, you will leave it after getting 🥱 bored!If you are a student of anthropology do visit it, if not, dont even think of entering it!!

Huts belonging to many tribes are well built on nice little hills. But paths between huts are not good, dont go with sandals, shoes are needed. Bike/bicycle is also needed. And it has 2 entrances/exits. 1 near boat club, another the opposite way.

One of Indias best museums which showcases human evolution in various parts of the country. Its a very well managed space. It has a number of large galleries displaying artifacts from the past. You can easily spend an entire day here. Along with indoor museum it also displays life size tribal houses from various parts of the country. There is a canteen and a museum artifact shop. And washrooms offcourse ☺.

I think MP tourism board has not promoted it well. I feel it deserves many more visitors. A must visit place in Bhopal, It is spread in a very huge area, if you have your own vehicle its good or you can hire an auto ricksaw which will charge some Rs 300 for complete trip with waiting time of 1-2 hours (please bargain well and set the expectation right with Auto guy) Enrty ticket is also there. Lots of things to see there. Amazing place.

This part is Indoor Museum or Vithi Sankul. It contains 12 galleries and an auditorium. You need a full day to see it thoroughly and about 2-3 hours otherwise. There are several outdoor exhibits and sections as well and a person in hurry is likely to miss many jewels. This museum is certainly one of the best and worth visiting museums for those interested in anthropology of India, history, traditional art and paintings, musical instruments, etc. There is a very basic canteen, though not attached to Sankul, where you can get tea, biscuits and thali(plain rice, Dal, sabji and 4 puris-fried bread). Price of thali is just rs 30! There are two approach roads to reach the Vithi Sankul. Please note that there are many open air areas scattered in the premises so you may miss many if you dont explore carefully.

This is very nice place for outing and includes the facilities like drinking water , car parking and washroom. You can also carry your vehicles inside the museum with a nominal charge . There is a canteen inside the park where you can get beverages and snacks .

A must visit. It is generally ignored because of the sprawling and imposing zoo/ Van Vihar next to it. But, this place provides a wholesome experience. The amicable staff is very friendly. A small canteen is also there at the hilltop. It takes 3 to 4 hours to fully visit all the dwellings. It is good that management allows visitors to enter most of the huts. Aquaguard filtered cold water dispensers are available at every few meters. But, because of the hilly landscape, feel exhausted towards the end. Children also enjoy a lot.
