Kaveri Mahabushkara Festival from Bhavani

Bhavani Co-operative Sangameshwarar Temple, also known as ThirunanaIt is located at a distance of 56 km from Salem and about 15 km from Erode. The lord here is Sangameshwarar and Ambika is Vedanayaki. It is also known as the ‘Coalition’ as it is the confluence of three rivers, the Cauvery, the Bhavani and the invisible Amirtha. Bhavani is the name given to the three goddesses, the river and the site. The mythical name of the place is Thirunana, which means no harm (does not come close) to those who come and bathe in it and see the Lord.Amuta urnThe bitterness left over from the milky way was left to be given to the gods. Subsequently when the Parasara sage took the jug of amuda, there was a lingam in it. It is said that Eesan merged with Bhavani and Cauvery to form an amulet theertham there.
