I ordered for a take away masal dosa in which the masal and dosa was separate. Anyone who knows masal dosa wouldnt do it. The sambhar was fine but chutney was too bad. The dishes were either lil over priced and also wasnt spicy. May be goes well for Germans but still the Indian taste is compromised. The service was also not that great. We had to wait for 5 mins to ask the waiter something though there was only one another customer was in the restaurant.Only the pakora starter was nice.

Great service, priceworthy, comfortable environment and huge selection of vegan and vegetarian food. The vegan platter and the samosas are amazing! I can recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Had a really good selection of delicious vegan and gluten free goodies on the buffet the night we visited - and it was all you could eat for just a little over €10! Also got to taste vegan fudge coated in dark chocolate for the first time — oh my, I could have eaten box loads of it!

This place is excellent for their lunch specials! I cant think of another place in Charlottenburg where you get this many choices on one plate for so cheap. I havent tried the rest of the menu but it looks excellent, especially if you can share stuff with a large group. Staff are extremely nice :)

Vegetarian/vegan place. Main dishes are either marked as vegetarian or vegan (or veganising possible). Foods aren’t marked so make sure to ask before ordering. Can highly recommend the vegan platter! Food is very affordable for the amount you get (7,90€ for the platter). Staff is nice and helpful. Try their brunch!

The Satyam is mainly vegetarian and therefore a must for vegetarians and those who love Indian food. Super delicious, friendly staff despite the sometimes rising hustle and bustle and very pleasant atmosphere. I was amazed at the variety and the number of vegetarian dishes. The colorful lunch offer was a real eye-catcher. It was a pleasure.

Good value! Great selection of curries and tasty bites. Ayurvedic menu is super - the flavors are balanced though perhaps not as spicy as I’d like. Really simple fixings and not usually busy so good for the weekends. Unpretentious and no contrived “hippie” atmosphere like most Berlin veggie joints. Volume at a good level for a chat. Altogether great experience :)

Worst food till today in my life. I request every indian to go any other restaurant. To all other people too, if you want to get Indian taste in proper way then visit other restaurant Not this one please. Dosa was worst although they call them as south indian. All curry was so much sweet with only sahne. Paneer was directly put into curry from freeze and no fry. Not at all good service. No hygiene any. From rice smell of mosquito killer powder smell was coming. I Simply want to say, just dont go this restaurant. I feel pretty bad for German, that they really dont get chance to eat proper right taste of Indian food.

One of worst experience in Berlin with Indian restaurant. Food was pathetic. Overly sweet. Staff was rude. They make fun of guests in native languageHindi. I understand Hindi so I heard how they served an under cooked dish to a German guest by making fun that he wont understand that it is not cooked well because its his fist time with Indian food. How bad it is.

Best Indian food Ive ever had. Ive taken oodles of friends there (most of them arent vegetarian or vegan) and again & again, they say the same thing. Even the most seasoned (no pun intended) Indian food buffs love this place. The buffet on Sundays is incredible. They also label which items are gluten-free. Warm, cozy atmosphere.

I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good food. We ordered 3 different dishes and all 3 of them had the same sauce/gravy. If you just need to fill your stomach the food is ok but if you want genuine Indian dishes cooked from scratch this is not for you.

Absolutely wonderful. I was in Berlin for one week and I visited Satyam twice, because the food was so good. You might wait a while for your first drinks to arrive, but have a little patience; it will be worth it. The friendly waiters will soon serve you good, honest food with flavour explosions. Very reasonably priced too.

The Sunday brunch all day long always is a highlight I can recommend - they offer an authentically Indian, vegan and vegetarian choice. The service for drinks is not the fastest but this isn’t really a major drawback.

They have extremely big portions and prepare the tastiest soup ever (almond one). BUT NOTICE! They sell tap water for a looot of money. Shame.

Decent food; terrible service!The food here is decent enough to fill your tummy and that is why I give it a 2 star rating and it is the only saving grace. The service is horrible. I went on a Tuesday afternoon during lunch and there was only 1 waitress serving 12 tables. She was impolite and rude. I did not feel welcomed at this place. I found it to be a waste of money and time. Never again!

Most exquisite veg Indian dishes (from North to South) with Ayurvedic healthy twist. Everything is at the top of freshness. Service is quite irregular but friendly.

It is the worst thing that happened to me in Berlin. It is not a South Indian restaurant, the service was pathetic.. I just wanted to get the hell out of there once I realized that I am in such a awful place.

We got our order in 95 minutes from the time we ordered ( two masala dosa and two paneer dosa).The food was not authentic and taste of coconut chutney was yuck.

Pleasantly surprised about the authentic taste and flavors of the dishes, and that too Vegan. Will be visiting again!

Improved all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch buffet, BUT the older bespectacled man (owner?) tried to double-charge me (only €25 instead of €50)!!I know this is the fourth time this has happened - and instead of apologising, he twice stated that he hadnt known me, attempting to justify this brazen daylight ripoffery! Worst restaurant we have visited. Service is extremely poor. Food was not cooked properlyvand raw batter on Pakora, channa batura, uthhappam and Rava Dosai. Rava dosai batter is very thick and was not cooked in parts. Cocunut chutney is a joke. Does not taste like coconut chutney. The service person argued like hell and the excuse was over worked. Tasteless channa dal, banigan curry. In short if you like to eat an authentic Indian food do not go here.

The food is very average and the service is poor. Being an indian we know how indian restaurants abroad are, and this is definitely not a great one! And to top it up, the staff inside was fighting with each other in Hindi language, the kitchen steam is not clean, and they actually have a a Fanta mixed with a local beer, in the name of Raddler beer! 🤨

Very high quality food every time I visit

Roties were raw.. everything had awkward Smell and oily and foul tasting food at cost of what!? Not recommended at all! I heard about it from my friend and took my parents when they were visiting me and had most embarrassing experience. :(

Food was okay. Nicely presented but not everything was delivered. Simple things like the basmati rice was undercooked, dry and flavorless. Their fried pakora (tempura) with yogurt and tamarind sauce was not extremely hot when served. The service was good but when we went it was only a server attending and the restaurant had many customers. It overall seems to attract many locals. I wish the food was as good as it seemed in the many images.

Best Indien food in Berlin, nice people too!

Totally unprofessional service. I went to this restaurant couple of times but useless service. He is treating his customer at least Asians non important. For example 1) multiple times he ask for cash instead of card payment 2) when I asked for tap water he sarcastically said who is providing tap water in Germany. Totally disgusting answer. 3) once I went with my friends he denied sitting on cushion seats instead forced us to seat on wooden bench. 4) whatever chutney he provides for dosa is very cold. Looks like taken out of refrigeratorI would like to tell this owner I am not taking free service from him and paying money for his service and trust me he is not doing ‘upkar’ by providing Indian food to me . But I am doing upkar on his restaurant by visiting it when multiple other good restaurants available and n this area

Food and service was very average. Vadai was really hard even with sambar and panner-beans gravy was very mild, lacking traditional Indian flavor. The girl in the service was a bit rude and didnt care about us.

Best vegan Indian food experience I had

Just letting international tourist know this place accepts only local German Bank cards or cash. So I could not eat there. But I will surely return.

The food was okay. The dahl and naan bread was delicious, but the rest were plain. The mango lassi was not cold, but it was tasty.The service was slow and not good. She didnt even look at us when we entered the restaurant and when we ordered from her. It took ages for us to get to pay. Too busy for one waitress.

Two stars for the price and quantity. Not authentic South Indian.. simply the same creamy, boring curries as every other Indian restaurant in Berlin, arranged in a slightly different way. The paneer dosa was too thick and not crispy at all, overfilled and mostly potatoes. Sambar wasnt good, and coconut chutney tasted sour and downright bad. Combined with the unfriendly service, I unfortunately cant recommend this place at all

I am from South India and I have traveled a lot in South India and this DOES NOT represent south Indian food. The chutney which is served with most South Indian food is something that defines the quality of the chef for me. Here the chutney was just grated coconut, just bland tasteless grated coconut, no other flavour. The dosa was very similar to the once I prepare using the MTR dosa mix, I dont have to pay so much for instant dosa and tasteless coconut. The sambar was good. The Chole Batura was also good. But the so called south Indian food were very bad.

The pros: plenty of vegetarian and can make many items vegan, food presented is great. The cons: not that authentic tasting to be honest. Dal tarka was very bland and biryani as well. Still worth a try, maybe these arent their best dishes.

Its not possible to give zero stars here on Google reviews else I would have given these guys a very BIG zero. Absolutely pathetic food and its not even traditional south Indian food. We ordered samosas and it was completely roasted; best part was to find a piece of plastic stick in it. Yes, you read it right; there was a plastic stick inside the samosa. Masala dosa were thick as idli and it was not even close to normal dosa as well. Yes, please dont order vadai. They have no clue what south Indian vadai is. If you have money to spend and no intention to eat good indian food then Satyam is your restaurant else just go somewhere else.

Good value for small money, quick service and friendly if shy staff. Pay at the counter and have small bills and change ready.

TL;DR:Very poor quality food, good service, decent appetizers.We had the paneer Tikka and veg pakora appetizers, both of which were quite good.We got our hopes upIt was all downhill from there.While the paneer burjia was good and alu Gobi decent, and the sambar not bad, the rest -- rava masala dosa, upma, dal tadka, uthappam, chole butura -- were all uninspired and bland. The spices just didnt combine well in the right proportions, and nothing tasted right.The waitress was friendly and nothing tasted downright awful or spoiled, but almost nothing tasted good, never mind great.
