Very nice food , but they put coconut oil, which North Indian people less like, but I like very much .....nice packaging and polite behaviour.
Best place in the locality, pocket friendly, great taste amount all the other restaurants with Kerala cuisine. Must try . Chicken pepper masala, Kerala parota and crab kebab
Bad experience. Rude and unclean. Received old meat. Wasnt sure if it was really beef or not. And very rude to customers. Pathetic behaviour.
Good for breakfast food. Malabar style curries are the highlight. Conventional dosais and roasts are also available.Enjoy the food at a better ambience. The wall of the restaurant is painted with the history of Calicut, the place in Kerala by which the restaurant itself is named after. The restaurant has an open kitchen, you are always welcome to watch your order being cooked.Various Kerala style lunch is also available with chicken and fish biriyani on the menu. Fish fry meals is also available.
I went to calicut restaurant for a take away few days ago and they gave us stale food. Now i do understand that its not upto any one to keep food fresh forever but checking if it is good to be served would be a good idea when you are running a restaurant. We called them up to inform that the food was spoiled and they said they will check and call us back and they never did. We werent expecting a refund or anything but a simple acknowledgement of mistake would have been a good thing to do.
If you guys dont know how to prepare food please stop running the business rather than fooling people.Months back I have ordered 2 varieties of chicken and Biriyani, the food was pathetic and I complaint in Swiggy and got some refund amount.During this lockdown, Since I am unable to get meat in the market, so orders beef from this hotel again because there was no other option. Again the story is same, beef was not cooked properly and all the meat seems decayed.I would like tell one point to Calicut Restaurant Owner : Pani ariyillel verae valla panikkum podo...
Placed an order through Zomato! Ordered 2 Chicken biryanis - large. The quantity provided is a joke. God save customers who order their small version of it. Not worth for what they charge. Disappointed! Please spend your money elsewhere.
The best Kerala food in town, must try is kizhi parota
Very bad experience.Dont buy fish from this restaurant.
A great place to have Kerala food.....
Good varieties of Kerala style foods... 👍🏻Excellent hospitality
The place serves reasonably good kerala food. I have tried Appam, kerala porota and putt along with beef varattiyath and prawns masala. Prawns masala was too spicy and beef was not exceptionally tastey but altogether they gave an okayish experience. The ambience there is of a small eatery and its not a place where you can have a formal date or something but you can visit the place for food. It worth going there and trying out the kerala food there.
Nice Kerala style food.. Their aappam and puttu is very nice.. You can have instant made food from there.. I tried more than 5 times with different dishes and all are good...
Being a malayali I went 2 times .ordered beef n prawns first time. First of all bill was around 470 and prawns was just red chilly marinated and handful of onions. No taste at all. And beef was not fresh it was from previous day and simply we can feel tht coz you are a malayali. Also the guy who was delivering the food was like he s gvng us the food for free. He was kind of rude n no smile at all.he had beared And he was collecting the bill amount. Dnt knw he ws the owner or not. Still I thought everyone has a bad day. So I went another day morning and ordered our traditional puttu and kadala. Be honest kadala curry quantity was very less but it was tasty n delicious. Puttu had 1gram or 2 gram coconut athum meleyum yhazeyum. Peera enniyal 10 allenkil 15 Peera kaanum. And nothing else. Be honest first time I am reviewing one food from restaurant and I only knw how sad i felt when I was eating puttu . Later I saw the price of tht puttu 45rs fr piece of rice powder i felt crazy and speechless. Plz to the owner my kind request 60 or 70 percent people will be malayalies tht cmng to your hotel. Tk the amount as you wish bcz nobody will complain. Coz they will be missing their home food here. But please serve our traditional taste n quality. Soree i felt bad writing this.
Tasty and feeling to vist again
Visited this place after lockdown. Food was pathetic and the prices were increased like anything. We have ordered squid and it wasnt cooked well. Only relief was the Kerala porotta which was good. Please avoid going to this place.
Good restaurant and good foods not over priced. Recommended for having traditional Kerala food. Good staff also👍✌️
Calicut special chicken biryani was awesome and even the chicken curry (chicken varatharachathu ).
Food is fine (3-3.5), but what we didnt like is service. My advice to you if you want a better experience here is: 1. Never look at the menu, ask what is available first...that way you wont be disappointed. 2. Quantity is very less, so be prepared plan your portion even before you order.
Today had Chettinad beat and koonthal fryChettinad beaf : feel like tomato curryKoonthal fry : better we can say as onion fry
Simple elegant Kerala cuisine, lots of coconut, beautifully spicy, just the way God wanted Malabar cuisine to be
Kerala food available
Good place to visit and Delicious food in kerala taste.
Very nice experience. They always deliver food to us. I enjoy it very much. They are also very friendly unlike their neighbours like Thalassery Restaurant.
Friendly waiters, consistent food. Its a place where you can have a nice Biriyani.
This place is always crowdedI tried the apam, parota, beef fry and chicken from this place. The food is good as well as inexpensive.
I dont want to give even one star rating also, Bcz we found a cockroach in an item we ordered today. The food item was beef pepper ordered via swiggy . It is such a disgusting thing from an established restaurant to show such carelessness what kind of hygiene they are looking into .
Nice service and friendly staff. One of the good place in MSR nagar for Kerala food.
This was my first and, definetely last experience. If you want to see a cat, theyll show you a dog, and then very politely they argue that it is the real cat you asked for, and if you say it is not a cat, they will argue you that you are wrong.Yesterday I went to this hotel for dinner, i ordered beef fry and wheat porata. They drained me a beef curry and said, This is beef fry. Anyone who has eaten beef fry in Kerala, will not accept that they served real beef fry. When I went there with the desire to eat porata and beef fry, they told me brilliantly that they were served real beef fry. Very cleverly they made me stupid and i didnt get what i wanted, and i lost my money too.I never recommended to anyone for Calicut restaurant.
A budget restaurant for authentic Kerala food. Its always crowded. Therefore the food is freshly made. Unfortunately, they dont serve warm water with pink herbes but the rest is Malabar style. Their portions are generous and their service quite prompt. Try their fish curry and rice.
I have never seen my dad eat so much ever. I took my family here and ordered like 10 different dishes all of which were praised highly. Now for this might not mean much but for me whos family is from Mangalore (home to best food in the world) and very judgemental about all restaurant food, meant that this was one of the best restaurant going experience ever. Try meat varattiyad and parota. Also aapam, chicken biriyani kutthu parota etc etc are amazing as well
Never expected that food quality will go this bad. Price also has increased like anything. Worst experience.
This is the restaurant placed in banglore with good kerala food, especially in calicut foodThis is one of the good family restaurant in banglore
Good Kerala style restaurant. Moderate rate.
One of the best restaurants in mathikere.
Worst. May be only for me, coz it was very poor experience for me. I ordered beef fry and wheat Porota, they served me drained beef curry. And they argued me this is the beef fry, I was surprised, coz Im the fan of beef food stuffs, my expectations are killed by them. So I never reccomet for anyone.
Good Kerala meals. The fish gravy wasnt tasty but all others were. The gravies have pieces in them which you dont find at other places
Recently revamped... I love the new looks... Great varieties of sea food... Try out the kallamukkai fry or roast... Tastes delicious... Not a great place for vegetarian though... Even the meals here is more towards the non veg side as they serve a very few veg items with it...
One of a best restaurant in the area if you are expecting a Thani Malayalee Food
Good place to have your dinner...fast service and clean ambience will make your dining experience richer.
Generally okay. Though expensive side means not worth it. Guys tend to charge more than stipulated prices on the menu. Fight it out should you happen to visit. Buy only egg roti ... 30/- bucks worth it though have check if its the same of the past.
Tried and appam and egg curry here. Would never suggest to any one. Service is also not good. Delays unnecessarily.. Felt Rs. 95/- little expensive for 3appam and egg curry.
4 out of 7 days they serve old stock chicken..Identify it by the color of the meat.. It looks mildly dark.Have a look inside kitchen next time. They price premium but quality is average..
Nice food. I had Chicken dry biriyani and Erachi fry. Biriyani is good but fry is not that fine. One issue is like space. Its very less as compared to other restaurants. They also provides snacks
Good kerala cuisine in Bangalore. Prompt service with courteous behavior
Good place to have the authentic Kerala food. Almost all non veg items are excellent.
The samosa here is not good. The tea had strong dicoction. I didnt tasted any food items so dont know abt that.
Kerala Parathas to Biriyani.. Hell yeah.. This is good place.. High rushing people, corner place near MS Ramaiah.. Very quick serve. But loads of Tasty Mixture is added.. You feel full in one serving.
Orders are too late. And person who prepares was drunk when i had order for the food in their hotel, he mix ups the order and gives our food to other customer and their food to another customer and again they take time to prepare our order
Food is great..so is the tea and condiments.. parking is a difficult.. but worth it..they have online payment..take away..also they have a washroom..
Good place for Kerala style delicacies.. However, a bit crowded at times
Good. There appam and beaf is too good. Kappa biryani also good.
The hotel is also an attraction for the Malayalees living in Bangalore. For those who love to eat delicious food, its a good place for those who love a good biryani. This hotel is good for a meal together with family and friends.
Average food taste..if u want kerala food badly visit this place..but there is other restaurants just neat to it which offers Better kerala food
Food tastes Blant and as they endorse it to be taste of Calicut. Price also quite high I would say. But yea u can go once for a change thats all.
If youre craving for some typical Kerala dishes this is the place without any doubt. obviously pocket friendly too
Food taste is awesome. But many times the waiter says some main dishes are not available :(
For Kerala cuisine, it is a decent place. Kerala porotta is especially good. But the Chinese items are particularly bad
Amazing Kerala style food! Mouth watering seafood
Great Kerala food. Slow service
Awesome food , great staff and quality ambience. Rates are very reasonable and their Kerala cuisine is just mind blowing.
Good destination for kerala food. Will get authentic kerala cuisine. But parking is a problem. The road is narrow and congested. Food is delicious
This is a pocket friendly place. Food doesn’t taste authentic. But worth a try. The name is only calicut. But the biriyani doesn’t have the kozhikodan touch. They have variety of breakfast. Service is quick and food is served hot and fresh. No space for car parking near by.
Love the Food and very good service...Take away is fast too....They have lot of variates of Kerala food... Send all of them are superb...
There are a lot of places nearby but only Calicut has maintained the quality and taste in the last five years I have been eating here. Morning masala dosa, appam egg roast are amazing. Biriyani is really tasty and so is all their chicken main courses
I ordered the parcel 2 chicken biriyani, but they delivered one beef biriyani and one chicken biriyani. Even the both chicken and beef pieces quality is too bad. Looking is too old and getting bad smell.... same informed them and even send the photos through whatsapp... but no response from them and no actionSo pls dont prefer this hotel..... however near by lot of kerala style hotels available with good quality foods.
Plates were not properly clean and usually the taste of meat on Sunday is fresh but on other day I felt the meat is not fresh.
Neat, good and cheap. Staff were good. Will be a good experience esp. for malayalees.
Great taste, fast serving and cheap! Ambience is very average.
Im a regular customer here.Sometimes they serve old meat. Which they charge for even if you did not to eat.2 out of 4 times you get decent food.Suggestion: if you find yourself there anyway, go for vegetarian food.
Best for breakfast. Love their puttu and kadala also Kappa and fish curry is a must try.
Im a regular customer. Sometimes they serve old meat. Which they charge for even if you choose not to eat.2 out of 4 times you get decent food.Suggestion: if you find yourself there anyway, go for vegetarian.
Tried Kappa biriyani from here. It was nice.
Auperb taste.. U love it
Good food at very affordable prices. Quick service, and friendly staff. Would want to go there again.
Nice place with great varieties of food, ask for their day special; thats really worthy.
