We Went to Yataii for a celebratory dinner ,This place was amazing & outstanding πThe view from the skylounge on the 18th floor, the sakee served in cauviars andsmall sake cups and light Japanese music playing in the background gives you the vibes of a authentic izakaya.Tried the Kiku, a multi course meal, equivalent to a taster menu to get a whole range of Japanese flavours. Was thoroughly pleased with the experience. We ordered the sushi platter ,even gave us some extra veggie stuff without compromising on the non veg. (i didnβt want the platter if he was going to reduce the seafood).the pork i had (the slow roasted)was nice but i should have ordered the pork belly instead.crispy avaocado roll was amazing and best iβve had in bangalore,so soft and creamy ,the noodles we get were okay tho probably should have opted for the ramen instead ,highlight was the platter though πThe service is excellent only topped by the food.one of the best in in city you must try the tempura πThe ebi maki rolls, &the maki avacado andsalmon is superb. Also their yaki meshi rice is fantastic in prawn & veg.We were served many different kinds of Sushi, seafood salads,Mouth watering prawn & chicken Tempuras, Miso soup,Japanese Curry & many more.We had one of there 7 course menus to try as many things as possible and was not disappointed.Everything tasted great to perfect, even the things I was sceptical about at first.Authentic Japanese Cuisine.A must in Bangalore, great ambience, highly hospitable staff &the Chefs got some skills...!The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food,as expected from a restaurant in a high end hotel. The ambience is very relaxed & cozy, perfect for taking family and friends.Definitely recommend the place for the experience of the Japanese flavours. One of the lovely authentic Japanese restaurants &Extremely friendly ,courteous staff, great food ,great staff enjoyed dinning in yataii ,this Japanese restaurant has one of the-best Japanese varieties among the city π₯°πππ€©5/5
A posh Japanese restaurant in the magnificent Shangri-La hotel . Besides the exotic view of the city from 18 th floor the restaurant offers some mouth watering japanese dishes. Our maitre de Vijay , was very hospitable and helped me through the selection of various dishes ( me being new to the cuisine). He not only explained the various dishes but also helped choose the best.He also suggested few modifications based on personal taste, which made dishes more delicious . I had ordered vegetarian ume and my husband ordered non veg matsu. Ume and Matsu are basically 7 course meals including appetizer , salad , main course , soup , dessert etc. Portion size is also good to accommodate all 7 courses , flavours bang on japanese . Veg appetizer was picked cucumber and radish , ladys fingers in soy , one mixed veg croquette , salad was a a mix of greens with pickled cucumber, carrot , radish in a seaweed tampura crunchy base , absolutely mouth watering. I also had veg dumplings , spicy noodles , and tofu in the following meals . Dessert was a super silky absolutely lip smacking panna cota with tempura ice cream. We ordered on cocktail Gari shu - pickled ginger and pomegranate beautifully muddled in a exquisite drink.Sake - Senjyu Kyubota Sake bottle which was really good but more pleasing to people with those taste flavours , my husband liked it a lot , I thought it was different .;)They also have an elaborate bar with drinks from all around the world .On the cons side , its fine dining , in Shangri-La , be ready to shed some extra bucks for this.A must try for an authentic Japanese cuisine and flavours.
Very nice and stylish place. The service is excellent only topped by the food. I had one of there 7 course menus to try as many things as possible and was not disappointed. Everything tasted great to perfect, even the things I was sceptical about at first. You also have a nice view over parts of Bangalore if you sit on the window side because we are at the 18th floor of the Shangri-la Hotel. For me a clear 5 out of 5.
I had a good experience here for my wifeβs bday.place was pretty quiet when we got there friday at 830 but they knew my reservation from ez diner (i like making a booking without talking to anyone) and the last minute note i jotted down saying wife bday. so they even gave us a cake which was cool.please do get the sushi platter; my wife is veg, iβm a carnivore and they hooked it up and even gave us some extra veggie stuff without compromising on the non veg. (i didnβt want the platter if he was going to reduce the seafood).not cheap but not small quantity either so itβs pretty good if you want proper sushi. manager was also nice.the pork i had (the slow roasted) was nice but i should have ordered the pork belly instead. crispy avaocado roll was amazing and best iβve had in bangalore, so soft and creamy. the noodles we get were okay tho probably should have opted for the ramen instead. highlight was def the platter tho π»π
Things I liked :Good service. Friendly staff. Chef home n other chef actually are really nice n attentive. Really Nice ambiance.Well trained n Knowledgeable chefsThey tell u in detail how to eat or wt kind of dish u are trying. Chef home is really nice n funny. He will make ur day πThings I didnt like :Food is average, not bad. But, bit Expensive. Not a right place to try ramen. Actually staff could HV been more attentive to each costumer. As soon as u go, they ask what kind of water u prefer mineral water or sprinkled water. Prefer mineral water cz they charge a lot for that sprinkled water or wtever they call. I didnt like the fact that they charge for even drinking water. It should always be complimentary. They didnt even provide a finger bowl after the meal.Lastly they didnt have any online payment methods, that was disappointing. But, later somehow we got managed.
This place was amazing asf. The view from the skylounge on the 18th floor, the sake served in cauviars and small sake cups and light Japanese music playing in the background gives you the vibes of a authentic izakaya. The food is amazing although a bit on the pricier side which is to be expected from this kinda place. And they have a very good collection of drinks including several types of sake.
Went to Yataii for a celebratory dinner. Was given a lovely little cake, courtesy of the restaurant, for the occasion. Tried the Kiku, a multi course meal, equivalent to a taster menu to get a whole range of Japanese flavours. Was thoroughly pleased with the experience. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food, as expected from a restaurant in a high end hotel. The ambience is very relaxed and cozy, perfect for taking older family and friends. Definitely recommend the place for the experience of the Japanese flavours.
It was very good with good dishes and service. The curry was really good almost same as korean style. All menu will serve as their own order but if you want more you can request. The chicken was really crispy and juicy inside. highly recommended.
Wow. Great food. Perhaps the best Japanese food in Bangalore. Wonderful ambiance and service. Obliging staff. Reasonable prices. Definitely recommend.
Wonderful place.. wide variety of food. Out should be called as a food gallery instead, not only a tummy treat also a treat for eyes.. so colorful and artistic. A worth buffet it was. Everything looks so yummy.Service staffs are absolutely at their best with their hospitality. A great place for your family get away. They also have a roof top party place to host conventional events.

I have been here a few times, and the last time I have to say that the quality of the food wasnt as satisfactory as its has been before. I asked for Japanese green tea and the taste was very bad, it tasted old and was not hot enough. The second time we got green tea was the taste completely different... I ask them to try the tea by the way...the first one.I am not sure I want to go back again. I need some time to forget this experience.
Sushi is really awesome! Very authentic and good quality! Loved the place and went to have dinner there almost every day. Service was also great.
Food is authentic japanese with few raw materials sourced locally and most from Japan. The staff pays attention to fine details. View is good from the 18th floor of Shangri-La.
We celebrated our anniversary yesterday at Yataii and it was truly a wonderful experience. The food was well presented and we were impressed with Mr.Vijay who was very helpful in suggesting and explaining the dishes to us. The ambience was also great!!!
Good service ...but food not worth the money....
I think less is more for this restaurant, one of the best in in city you must try a tampura. They also serve you amazing vegetarian options which most of us would think is not possible for a Japanese restaurant. π
One of the best places for Japanese cuisine. Great service and amazing food. A must go
Wonderful Japanese gourmet. Nice ambience in fancy hotel. Kind and quiet staffs. Enjoyed a lot.
One of the best Japanese so far in India. Definitely staying in this hotel next time just because of the restaurant. Full credit for the chef and such a wonderf staff!!!
AMAZING FOOD! do not hesitate to book a reservation your life will be better for it
This place at the shangrila hotel is truly a great Japanese experience in Bangalore city. The ebi maki rolls, and the maki avacado and salmon is superb. Also their yaki meshi rice is fantastic in prawn and veg. This place will not fail to impress and check all the boxes your looking for.On value level is slightly expensive but worth it for sure.
Hospitality is great...I wanted to try out sushi..I liked the veg more because of its crunchy taste..non-veg is good too..
Awesome food. Lovely ambience. Friendly staff. Great experience.
Chef Richards cooking and his skills are amazing... He n his staff was so friendly n warming...
Sunday afternoon menu is pretty restricted. Prices are on the higher Side.
I enjoyed amazing Japanese Buffet at the Restaurant with my husband. Being on the 18th floor, the View was beautiful. We were served many different kinds of Sushi, seafood salads, Mouth watering prawn and chicken Tempuras, Miso soup, Japanese Curry and many more. Our attendant Sushmita was very attentive and prompt. She had through knowledge about the cuisine, and also suggested what else should we try more. Will definitely suggest friends and families to enjoy the buffet, and thank Sushmita for the enjoyable lunch experience. Will love to go back there again soon..
Authentic Japanese delicacies are served. Vegetarian like me has a only few option. Place is meant for sea food and Japanese cuisine lover
Food was great. A bit pricey though.
Hmm... Good food but not value for the money spent... Stand alones are doing as well as 5 stars these days, that hotels need to do something more experiential to make and maintain the difference π
Set atop the 18th floor of the magnificent Shangrila Hotel. Two spectacular but contrasting views unfold on either side . Panaromas depicting the old and the new avatars of Bangalore. No prizes for guessing the winner.
Amazing restaurant cuisine and service .Sushi and tempura were good quality
Lovely place and really good food alongwith one of the best customer service.
It was quite fine, but they put a bit too much of a rosemary tinge to their poulet mignon.
Booked a table for dinner on the 14th. Waited for an hour just for the menu which we eventually did not get and had to leave without any food or service cause they were so severely understaffed. Bad management. Very disappointing experience.
Food is really good...must try...good ambience ....and staff is very polite and friendly.
Lovely hotel great staff enjoyed dinning in yataii the japanese restaurant one of thebest japanese among the city
Good food...but I think they can improve sushis Lil more ...and the soya sauce they give with it is way too salty...one of the best sushis I had in bangalore is in sizhuan Phoenix mall
Extremely friendly & courteous staff, great food !
