I was always enticed by Mridangam and the divine rhythm it generates. When I finally decided to learn the art myself from Vidwan Sri. V. Shridhar, he referred us to Shantha Tabla Works. It was an uniquely gratifying experience by itself to meet and speak to Vidwan Sri. Srinivas at Shantha Tabla Works. His description of the centuries old legacy behind the art of producing classical percussion instruments was captivating. His own scholarly achievements in the art of classical percussion and his humbleness in maintaining that he has just touched tip of iceberg have left an indelible impression in my mind. I felt blessed to learn that invariably Mridangams used by every well known Maestro is either produced afresh or a old is retuned here to generate divine rhythmic vibes for all the music lovers out there. I felt most blessed when I collected my own Mridangam from Vidwan S. Srinivas with a message that No disciple has to worry if a goal is set aheadfor pursuit and when a Guru is backing up to achieve it (ಗುರಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಗುರು ಹಿಂದೆ). Im elated to be part of their proud legacy.

The owner was very respectful. I happened to visit the store at the end of the working day. He was almost closed but returned immediately on a call to address me. I noticed that hes very proficient speaking Kannada, Hindi and Telugu. He was very clear in conveying what he could offer and whats not from his shop. I am confident that one can like to visit the store over and again for the importance he pay for the customer irrespective if the customer purchased an item from him or not. This I find quite unique to notice from other stores that I visited in Bangalore. Kudos. 👍

The shop is in a market place , so avoid taking cars due to parking issue , you will have to park your car far away and walk all the way to this shop, The first impression that the shop keeper has on the customer is very blissful , he greets the customer with a joy to get your work done , he even does the same thing on phone , he works very fine and this shop is meant for Tabala Services and buying , the shop is located just near chandra musicals , please call him before visiting to have a feel of what his first impression is and to check whether he is available and timings of his availability ,Bringing a Two wheeler here is a good idea and parking can be done in front of this shop only , if you are not very fine with driving in small roads , please take an aut or a cab and arrive at his shop , he is very eager to get your work done with perfectness in every aspect , please wear mask properly covering the nose and mouth touching the chin , and please sanitize yourself before visiting the shop to avoid the spread of the pandemic , please save yourself and your surroundings from the pandemic , follow the guidelines given by the Health Ministry of India , hope this review helps the one reading it now , Thank you.

Bought a pair of copper dagga and dayan. Owner is really friendly. Very reasonable rates i would say. Most of all i liked the shopkeepers behavior. Instead of buy from a reseller i would say why not buy from the maker itself .

Seems like one of the oldest Percussion maker which was probably started by a lady. The present maker Mr. Srinivas speaks softly. I bought Mridangam from him and after reaching home noticed that the bigger side of the Mridangam was not producing the sound it should. I called him went to his shop. He was making a new one and he replaced it with that one after 20 mins. His moms and his articles have been published in many of the news papers and he has a bunch collection of those paper cuttings.

Finally I found a place in Bengaluru where I can get my tabla repaired. This shop has a great service, owner is guides you well and doesnt charge you hefty money.
