An excellent joint in Indra Nagar 80 feet road for an Authentic Kerala food with an decent ambience n environment
Great food.Kallu not available on all days.
Good for mallu foodies.. n beef lovers...
Amazing and tasty nostalgic Kerala food for Malayalis missing native/nadan food, as the name of the restaurant itself suggests. I have ordered from this restaurant several times. Just love it each time. Most popular orders - Kappa, pothichoru served in Banana leaf which is so fulfilling with good amount of quantity. Food has the Kerala taste. All available at a good price compared to other Kerala restaurant in Bangalore. If youre a non Malayali I definitely recommend you to try it out once. There are other varieties (seafood) as well, the place has a good ambience.
Good experience. Nice atmosphere. Nostalgic kerala atmosphere.
Food is just lips smacking awesome!! The red fish curry is bit too spicy but I cant still stop ordering it everytime with the delcious Kappa! And the beef is superb!Even a simple ghee rice is just unrealistically good. A must re-visit place!
Food was fantastic. Absolutely loved the dining experience. Reminded me of Kerala which was all that was required. I would highly recommend this place.
I am not sure if it is covid but the taste has totally changed and we did not enjoy the food. We had dinner and ordered regular stuff like parotta and accompany dish. This however was one of the places I loved to eat out at..
There is nothing more to describe other than expensive. Quality and Quantity is really appreciated but these doesnt outweigh the costs. Though it says its situated in a porsh area, it isnt easily noticable from the main roads and doesnt provide any star facilities to expect anyone to pay for the food this high. Service isnt upto the mark and people who visit this restaurant doesnt expect this.
Onam sadhya was a huge scam. Not at all worth it, bad service, okayish food and extremely high price.
Must try the chatti choru... Yummy food
Its ok. Good food. But slow service
Average food and highly priced. Onam sadhya was a scam. Service is not upto level. Disappointed.
Had pothichor fish fry. Tastes good. Little bit overpriced. The restaurant has a Toddy Shop Theme. They have written TS no. on the board😃😃 and have displayed malayalam movie dialogues on the wall as well. But it being a shaap theme, they have missed some most important things. There is no mention or photograph of the uncrowned Abkari King who ruled central Travancore ranges for 40 years, the legend Shri Aanakkaattil Eeppachan or his son Irattachankan Chackochi. If they are in the opposite team, then also there is no mention about ആണുങ്ങളിൽ ആണായ അബ്കാരി പ്രമാണി കടയാടി രാഘവൻ, upcoming terror കടയാടി തമ്പി , The cruel cold blooded കുന്നേൽ ഔതക്കുട്ടി, the aging but fearless booze tycoon കുന്നേൽ മത്തച്ചൻ. പിന്നെ കള്ളു കച്ചവടക്കാർക്കിടയിലെ catastrophic don, the most dreaded self styled valor കടയാടി ബേബി.
The food taste was very nice but the quantity is very less. Even the price is also too much(personal opinion)
The Kerala style local toddy bar-themed restaurant serves many of the signature Kerala dishes but at higher prices. Dishes like chicken fry and chicken biriyani tastes really good though I cannot say the same for some other dishes. They also serve their own signature dishes that are termed Shaap style, but Im quite sure that the style wont suit everyone. Sulaimani is a must try albeit overpriced. Since the restaurant is understaffed during the lunch time rush, the order might take some time to be prepared. The staffs are friendly and the vibe is good. The quantity of the dishes are good. Cost for 2 heads can range anywhere from 250-550
Great food... Loved what they have done with the ambience... Their pothi choru and chatti choru are must try from. Their menu, infact you can eat anything from their menu and its guaranteed to taste good but for fish items, the fish you see in the picture was ordered and later cancelled since it wasnt fresh and you really cant blame the restaurant for that but bangalore itself since you hardly get any fresh fish out here in bangalore... Otherwise its a must visit restaurant to dig on some authentic NADAN Kerala food!!!
Shaap serves the best tapioca fry in Indiranagar along with a delicious red chutney made of chilli, salt and vinegar. They also serve really good lemon tea. (Just mention less sugar, if you prefer your tea not to be excessively sweet)
When we heard of Shaap, we were reminded of the Shaap kada in Cochin and obviously took that as our cue to visit the place. Its not very often that you hear of kappa biryani (its more of a khichdi in consistency and is usually made with slivers of beef and a flavorful tapioca mash) in Bangalore. The Kappa Biryani, accompanied with some irachi fry (beef fry) at Shaap is *the* combination to order here! We also tried the meen polichadhu (fish wrapped in banana leaf) and the duck roast. While the fish was average, the duck was fresh, super succulent and loaded with pepper, quite like the duck youre served in Alappey or Kumarakom and it was absolutely delicious! For dessert we ordered the bananas fried in jaggery and coconut which was the much-needed, sweet finish to a meal that set our mouth fire.
Just a hype, food is below average, highly priced for the quality of food and ambience. Disappointed
Good place to taste Kerala authentic food
Good food. Kerala cuisine
Best place to try Kerala cuisine around Indira Nagar
Good place to dine out for kerala food
Authentic Kerala local food ,loved every bit of it
I wouldnt say exceptional, but still any mallu around would definitely want to go here atleast once, for you get the nostalgia striking with the authentic Kerala shaapp cuisine. If youre a mallu, definitely go for the pothichoru with beef fry.For others Id just say not a bad place to eat. Although an interesting fact is there is no gst
Its takes quite some time for your order to be prepared and given to you in the table. But even on my second visit I am fully satisfied with the taste. Both times i ordered different dishes.
The chatti choru is excellent. It has very unique taste
This is a great place to eat. Lovely and delicious food. If you are a foodie, you should actually check out this restaurant. Shaap is basically a kerala restaurant where you get to taste and enjoy spicy, tasty and hot kerala dishes. The Naimeen Curry, Nadan Chicken Curry, Chemmeen Curry, with Puttu, Appam, Iddiyappam, Egg Pappam, Pathiri will take your soul away with its spice and taste.
Chatti choru is a must try. Simple and good place
Worst Kerala restaurant in Bangalore.Had a waiting period of around 1 and a half hours and the food was really bad. Too salty food and fish wasnt fresh. Sambar was spoiledGot stomach upset too.Highly disappointed.
Powerful students comes from powerful school . we are here play lot of games like khokukabadi valley ball and allhumdullah from our batch we had bring more then 20 madal and shield .. Teacher are so much kind ... May Allah bless them the all our beloved teacher.. May Allah free from hell. 😘😘
Average food,Service can be better.Dont mistake to the Shaaps in Kerala. This Name is just towards the ambiance, not towards food & drink.
Very bad service and heavy rate😡😡😡😡
Best Kerala Beef Fry
Amazing place to chill. Proper adda. Authentic kerla style restaurant great tea and coffee. Very friendly service.personal fav lemon tea.
DELICIOUS FOOD, very friendly courteous staff, everything is made fresh as and when you order.Best in Indiranagar. Loads of vegetarian and vegan options as well.
Wonderful choices of authentic Kerala food. Very tasty and delicious. Podhe Chor (mini Kerala meal) on plantain leaf is a must try. Apart from this there are a lot of mouth watering dishes - fries, roasted, etc. Finish with a Suleimani tea. Courteous staff and management. Must try once place.
A non fancy Kerala cuisine restaurant, which serves banana leaf wrapped meal, pothichor and chattichor(earthen potmeal) too.the Kerala parota is really crispy goes well with any chicken gravy. Their kappa chicken biriyani is also worth trying. Appam with allepey fish curry was yummy when I tried last time. Their eggcurry is also delicious goes, well with parota or appam.
Nice n good. real taste of Kerala
Decent food and good price. Like the ambience too as a malayali. Nothing mind-blowing though.
Best place to have tea, snacks they also serve lunch and dinner too
It was just explosion of tastes in the taste buds. The pothi choru is a speciality here with a handful of side dishes. The restaurent is decorated in authentic Kerala shaapu theme. Another speciality item here is neera which really cool and refreshing. The menu has a special corner for shappu items. You will love it.
Chicken fry really bad taste.. waste of money
Place is awesome.Nice ambienceFood quality is also appreciable..Cost is little high...Service is good though
Had the worst experience . They served spoiled food and had to wait for 1.5hrs . Nothing for the hype
Must visit guys... amazing food
I have waited 45 minutes for getting biriyani. Worst experience. Not recommended to have dine in.
Biriyani is very unique and one of a kind here, it’s a combination of fried rice with some mint,Coriander leaf and thickened gravy of the meat 😂..
Nice porota and chicken
Good Costly kanchi..
Even though its more towards the spicy side you will enjoy the authentic kerala style food.. delivery is comparatively a little slow...
Sad food. Dont ever go to this restaurant. Earlier it was good, recently I had been and food is so worst there. Cooks are all new they dont even know how to boil red rice. It was so hard.. service is also pathetic
