Its not everyday I would rate a place so low. Visited here on a Saturday afternoon. Chose this place only because they serve Jain cuisine in this area.It was crowded and took us some time to get seat, which is okay. However, there was no COVID appropriate guidelines followed. Seating was 100% of the capacity in a jam packed space. There was no proper leg room or even stomach room I can say when seated.The table was not clean as well and had to nudge twice to get it cleaned. We ordered a starter - Jain Baby Corn Manchurian, a main course - Jain Paneer Butter Masala along with Butter Roti and Butter Naan. It took more than 40 mins approx to serve the starter. And the plate used to serve - was not clean, and the second plate was also the same.We had to wait for another 15 more minutes to get the main course.We wanted lassi and the staff didnt know if it was available. We asked it when we first ordered and it took them almost an hour to confirm if it was available.The only reason I am giving 2 star was because the food was of good taste.When we were leaving, there was a big queue waiting to get in. There was a BBMP official too and I didnt understand what he was doing in the queue. Failed in performing his duty as well. I would not visit this place again for such a good experience I had.

Its been a childhood memory for me. I have been going to this place since I was a child. Its very inexpensive and quintessential south india food is available at all times. Yummy in my tummy 😋

Tried Bharjari oota. Taste is second to none. The price quoted on menu is very affordable for the taste, quantity, hospitality and ambience.

Always wanted to visit this place for some good food.As all the items where very fresh and tasty with value for money.We ordered, Idly and Vada, Open dosa, Masala Dosa and Chole bhatora. All tasted superb 😋.Must visit place for Bangaloreans for Breakfast.

Cuisines here are delicious, everytime I visit the restaurant, I just prefer North meals.

Food is good but the dining hall has unbearable smell which cant have food. Really how the restaurant didnt know this, it is something that need to be look in.

Outstanding customer service and very friendly staff. Too many options to choose from and the food is delicious too. Well prepared and freshly served. As a visitor the staff took time to explain to us the food and gave us some recommendations too.I highly recommend it if you are looking for rich food menu and satisfactory service..

Restaurant is present in 1st floor. Ground floor they have sweets and snacks. This place is very crowded in weekend. Food taste and quality both are good.

The food is very very nice. You get good quantity and quality is very good. Mushroom manchurian is a must try dish. Yummy juicy crispy hot mushroom was just magic to your taste buds.

We visited Upahara darshini on a family dinner,Taste is was excellent.They offer unique and wide varieties of menu , definetly will be liked by all.Prices are not much expensive, kitchen is so clean and tidy.Both fast food as well as service option is available.They accept card payment.Highly recommended!

Went for a dinner and starter were tasty and warm. Tandoor rotis were baked to perfection and curries were spicy enough for rainy day. Overall good place.

Good Veg restaurant at Jayanagar. Both South & North Indian dishes. Sweets, snacks, chocolate, icecream...You ask are available. Both sit in and stand and eat. Parking may be a challenge sometimes...as its a main road. Good place to have quick eat. I have been coming here for many years... Service remains good .. people are good. Recommend for all types of veg dishes.

Had been for breakfast here today after a long time especially after watching one of the food blogger post recently. Was completely disappointed with the experience.At times like these, all the restaurants are trying to improve their cleanliness and hygiene. But there is this restaurant which is least bothered about their cleanliness. From table cloth to crockeries everything looked dirty.The taste of the food was at par, but the attitude of the staff was equally pathetic as their cleanliness.Iconic Hotels like these shoul be more professional and customer friendly, but I guess they are really not bothered about the customer satisfaction but they are only here for the money.Note:This review is for the Service hall on the first floor

Bharjari bhojana @Upahara Darshini (UD) priced at 190rs gives you a run for money! If you are craving to have a marriage meal n have been missing it, then this is your place. Right from salt pickle, chutney, palya, kosambri as sides to curd rice... They will serve you until u say stop. Do try it.

Food is very very nice.Tried Idli-Vada for breakfast.They serve great quality dishes here.Seating facility is not available.Happy with visit to Upahara Darshini, Jayanagar.Staffs are good, we have to take coupon first for any Meals, Breakfast or Snacks.Party hall situated in first floor ( Its closed as of now 29/09/2020).Parking spaces are available for Two wheeler, four wheeler parking space is limited.

A good place to have South Indian breakfast dishes such as set dosa, puri, open masala dosa, idli, vada.The place is usually crowded.

We eat and have been eating in almost ALL South Indian Restaurants in Bangalore.This restaurant makes Bangalores one of the finest Vegetable Palov.One should try it here.

Before it was the best place to hav North Indian dishes but now the taste and quality has gone down

The Service section, the North Indian, Chinese and the Bharjari Oota all are okay.. .. except the South Indian self service section, there is something wrong.. either the idli or sambar or the tea, etc..It was not like this in the past.It is not upto the mark of the great and famous UD Brand (Group).

We ordered masala puri, pani puri and dahi vada.None of them were good enough

There are four section if I am correct. One self service fresh south indian & north indian dishes, reasonably priced. Another section in the ground floor exclusively north indian & chat parcel counter, high tariff. Above there are two sections one AC restaurant serving tasty south & north indian dishes with service. The other side of the first floor is full special meals under caption Bharjari Oota unlimited meals for a reasonable price. Parking finding is a major issue. Located in the central place at Jayanagar near BDA complex.

I loved barjari Oota here, its worth it... So many things like dosa, roti, soups, different varieties of rices and obbatoo... OMG.. Seriously it is paysa wasool deal...

Worst behaviour of each person in this hotel since from 2008 as a UD its starting eventually earlier it was nice 👍treat. But today after 2 years of gap I have visited i felted truly bad treatments with this hotel staffs...kindly dont Go 2nd time this hotel 😑

This is the first time Im visiting this restaurant after the pandemic struck.The experience for me was very bad.The main reason for giving this rating is food was not of good taste like before and the service was horrible.I came to this restaurant today with my friends as I had previous experience of good tasty good here.I had to wait almost 30mins after my order to get my starter and again 30mins to get my main course, in the mean time I would see other table orders being served who came late after me.So it was almost 1hr after my order I got the main course.I had to repeat 5 times requesting for hot water.I had to wait 10mins in the end to get finger bowl.Was really upset waiting and thought to cancel the order and leave.I would never this place again and recommend not to visit.

Upahara Darshini is a nice, quick and kinda healthy option for a snack or meal when youre in the area. This probably is the quickest and best bet for if youre at Cloudnine for a visit.They have a pay and eat standing option thats pretty quick or there is also a service hall one level above the street.The food is pretty decent and nominally priced too.

Dishes are tasty, chapati and roti are compromising. Crowded place, one has to wait for 30 min for food services. Waiters would attend other customers keeping old customers awaiting. ONLY TO VISITED WHEN LESS CROWD IS THERE.

I really like the Gobi manchurian! But the interior needs an update its showing its age

Though quality of food is ok and taste is ok.Ambience is horrible. Tables are not keep well., Floor is not swept properly.Staff tell there is labour shortage., But in these susceptible times of Covid hygeine should be given paramount importance and that is completely missing.They have deliberately switched off all ACs and operating only wall mounted fans.Lighting condition is also pathetic., Most of South Indian food not available except Dosa. Even basic soups like Tomato soup not available.We visited at around 6:00 pm in evening and such is the pathetic condition of this 3rd block Jayanagar restaurant.Jayanagar 9th block Upahara Darshini is much better.

WORST FOOD.. ordered masala dose and mini filter coffee from here. It was a tiny one with just one spoon of masala. The chutney was so watery they shouldve given it in a glass instead of a plastic bag. The mini filter coffee so mini that it was difficult to hold. The coffee was dilute and not upto the mark.

Decent outlet for vegetarian dishes and fast food. South Indian food is great. North Indian is just about okay. Not too many dessert options. Coffee is good too. Worth a try.

Bharjari bhojana as its name it will be Bharjari, food tastes healthy. If you guys have confusion what to order from menu then just go for Bharjari.

Good south Indian food. Have tried this place several times. Their Gobi chilly is one of the best. Their masala puri is on the spicier side but was delicious. The coffee was good too. Will definitely go again to try other dishes. Have not tried their service dining hall.

Few years back their hotel catched fire I believe its accumulation of people curse on them for serving worst quality foodToday I had been with my family around 2.45Dining area we were asked to sit quite next to toiletSo I came to self service area and decided to have food there. The place was horribly stinking. Due to the odd timings 3pm along with my aged mother I didnt want to roam around searching for another hotel hence we ordered food itemsRoti given in North meals is very special its upahara darshini black roasted roti . We managed to eat half roti and cant take more we left itWhen complained why theyre maintaining the place unhygienic with used plates tray in middle of eating area with all left over plates piled up one on another you get to see that while eating itAnd also about food qualityOne good thing the person is atleast humble one one query on food quality he said take some other item.. It should be appreciated but its not the way the hotel should operate . We didnt accept any other items we lost the mood and patience to have lunchFamily with kids aged people when were hungry coming outside with the belief a decent hotel that can be trusted to have lunch with brand name.. When they cheat people like this with worst garbage type dining. No cleanliness. No food quality..... We had bharjari uta here twice. The taste is super yummy like home food. No masala , no oily, and such a simple food with great taste and Unlimited too . From soup to rice items everything thing is tasty.

For quick bites of daily south Indian dosas, idli, coffee UD does the job in Jayanagar 3rd block, they have chats and other thindis too

Please do not visit this place. It unhygienic in all aspects. They served stale chatni and refused to replace it when asked.Most importantly cashier on the self service counter needs some serious behavior correction.

The quality of this place is more like the monsoon rains - unpredictable. Sometimes they amaze me with their culinary offerings, and when I recommend it to friends, Ive been let down a few times. Overall the quality of North Indian curries is average. A few which have not disappointed include veg Kolhapuri, kaju masala and matar paneer. Few starters like chinese bhel and Spanish manchurian are good. Requires better supervision of the culinary choices and quality of the food which hotel offers.

The food quality has decreased post covid. There is a scarcity of basic food items at odd timings. They also do not accept upi payments and other most non cash payments. However, it does compete with your average darshini.
