We had a mixed experience here. Went on Sunday evening craving for some Chole Bhature. Unfortunately, this punjabi place was not serving Chole Bhature. This was super disappointing. We ended up ordering Makkai Roti+ Sarsoon da Saag. It turned to be decent! The next order was a paneer paratha, which was really bad and had no taste at all.The starters we ordered took a lot of time but were cold when they finally arrived. The waiter didnt care at all when we brought this to his notice.Overall this was a downer. The ambience is decent. The service wasnt that great and the food was mixed, more bad than good!
Punjabi Times Is A Good Restaurant with the best ambiance. The ambience here is of punjab style hotelsOne can easily guess the ambience makes feel like sitting in Punjab. All the dishes NamesThe way they have deaigned their menu card, the way they made their ambience, the taste for all the food dishes.
Naan was very much similar to a rubber. One bite of the naan and a mouthful of exercise.I think this restaurant is taking care of people in there busy schedule because they know the temporal and mouth exercise is rarely taken care by people these days.Loved it.I will recommend this restaurant over cult.
Had nonveg dinner there. Quality is good but looking at high prices i felt quantity wasnt much. Also service is really slow. While ordering food one can keep that in mind.
Starter or main course both was awesome taste in my first visit but dont know about second visit taste may differ
Taste of the food is ok. Except paratha and roti nothing else is meeting the Punjabi style and taste. Ambience is average. But the good news is they have buffet for lunch and it has lot of varieties. Tastes above average. Moderately priced. Plates and other items needs improvement. Valet parking is available.
Ambiance wise restaurant is good, food is just ok, not too many varieties. We went there very late around 2.15 pm, we all are very hungry, so it tasted good initially but later we realised the real taste. Mocktails are not at all tasty, which they gave as complementary. I am a vegetarian, so all this review is only for veg food. Main course is just average. Curd rice was not at all good. They have a live chaat counter too. Staff are quick and helpful.
Punjabi timesFor sure a mix bag for meFinally went to this restaurant with family for dinner .We were seated promptlyThen we choose to order the followingFood 2/5Tandoori veg platterThis has paneer tikka - not so Soft paneer for sure this is the regular refrigerated one.Tandoori aloo pretty okTandoori baby corn - burnt was sadFruit roll like pineapple pretty averageVeg sheekh was good perfectly cookedPriced at 550 this was a bit sad .Would say do not try the platter !Main coursePaneer Lahori - paneer curry cooked in cashew nut gravy on sweeter side but was descentMutton Nihari - this was the only saving grace - mutton shanks Cooke’s in spicy gravyWe choose 2 sets of phulkaAnd two tandoori Roti .Vegetable biryani( fun part the phulkaaaas second set never arrived - server started biryani and we only asked where us the second set of phulkaaaa they say it’s almost ready - choose your cancel it )Veg biryani was spicy and too mushy and a mix of par boiled veggies - beans and carrots are undercooked .The rice used was not of fine quality it was more of kuchdii to me than a Biyani .( they are not clear in few things - we ordered for Roti curry and phulkaaas and one biryani , they got biryani first along with Roti curry -Who on earth does this ?)When asked they just ran away !Service -1/5The staff needs clear cut training , clueless and not active .Just they work coz they are supposed to be there .We had to remind them for water too n times !Live music -5/5This was the saving grace the person singing has real good voice which is for sure soothing and adds charm to this place .Ambience -3/3Descent one with pretty good seating optionsDull lighting and some matkas and some bangles on roof elevate the ambiance.VFM - 3/5Prices are a bit expensive for fewNot impressive foodAnd chaotic service results in a NO for me.Will I come back - NO until unless they buckle up .
I visited this place on a Friday night to have dinner. The place is located on Outer Ring Road and is easily accessible. They do have a valet parking as well. Here is my perspective about the place.Food (4 out of 5) - Since, I visited in a big group, I was able to try many different dishes. In starters, my personal favorites were Khumb Dilwale (Mushroom stuffed with Paneer/Cheese and deep fried), Aloo Makai Sev Ki Tikki (The addition of sev gave it a unique and amazing taste). In Main Course, Dal Makhani and Kulchas were the highlight. Coming to desserts, Gulab Jamun with Rabdi and Kulfi stole the show. These are a must try if you are visiting this place.Ambience (4.5 out of 5) - As the name suggests, the ambience tries to depict Punjabi culture. They have dhols hanging on the wall and different alphabets of Punjabi language being imprinted on one wall. But the best part was the inhouse singer who sings retro melodious songs. So, you can enjoy old retro songs while having your dinner.Service (4 out of 5) - The staff was quite polite and courteous and took great care of us.I had a great time here. Those who would love to have some good punjabi food and drinks while listening to retro Bollywood songs should give this place a try.
Really the food is fabulous. All the chicken varieties are very very good. Expect that Briyani. I think its not pure Punjabi Briyani, thats a mess from them. Apart from dessert options are very less. And ice cream too. We can enjoy a meal not a complete Buffet. Its good for low budget Person with bulk peoples treat.
I only went for the restaurant part, The food tasted horrible, Murg lababdar kebab was not so good. Egg biryani was horrible, too spicy and green chillies burned my mouth while eating, expected Hyderabadi style biryani at this price, but it was plain, which you can get in cheap dhabas also.Only ambience is good, and the live singing concept and his Singing was Good.In terms of food, wouldnt prefer it, but then whats a restaurant without good food !
Food was good , we enjoyed punjabi food..
Awesome desi tadka to the lunch plan! This place takes you to the rich & glorious land of Punjab by its ambience and desi vibe! Even though the food doesn’t have the 100% authentic punjabi cuisine flavour but it’s still leaves you content and is far better than a lot of restaurants promising to deliver that. They make your dining planning absolutely hassle free by providing a nice spacious valet parking facility. Complimentary beer with the buffet just sets the mood high!
Punjabi Times, Bellandur.Being a Punjabi, I tend to find best Punjabi food in every Location I go and thus my choice for this restaurant..So we ordered the following here:1. Non Veg Punjabi Thali2. Veg Punjabi Thali.Non-Veg Thali had: Mutton Gravy, Chicken Gravy, Dal Tadka, Dry chicken, masala salad, raita, gulab jamun, papad, chicken biryani and 2 tandoori rotis.Veg thali had: Shahi Paneer, Dal Tadka, Jeera Aloo, Raita, Masala salad, gulab jamun, cheese balls, veg pulao, papad and 2 tandoori rotis..- were served with - Soup and Paan ice cream too..My Ratings:Food: Excellent quality, quantity and taste: 4/5Ambience: Perfect place to dine in: 4/5Music: Nice Punjabi Music: 4/5Service: Good service: Kuber was very hospitable: 4/5Presentation: The food looks good. 4/5.I will overall rate this place 4/5.With LoveThetechnifoodie
It was a team lunch on Thursday with 9 of us including our trainer who is from USA and started liking Naan a lot. This lunch was our hospitality that will be a good memory When he thinks of India. Hmmm too much story....Dont mind 😉------Food------ 4 🌟We ordered a lot of veg and nonveg items such asPaneer tikka masala, Mutter paneer, Dhingri mutter, Punjabi murg curry, Lahori murg. All were tasty. From Indian bread, we ordered Naan and butter naan. Naan was little thik but good in taste. At last we were served with Mango Shake, Mango lassi, sweet lassi and water melon juice.Mango lassi is a must try beverage.------Ambience----- 4.5 🌟I liked the place. It has nice pictures with Punjabi writings all over the wall. It has decorations with Punjabi village touch, specially the ancient crop watering tool.-----Service----- 4 🌟Service was as usually and good.-----Value for Money----- 3.5 🌟I find this restaurant costlier than others in same category.I recommend all food lovers to try out Punjabi Times for a different and good experience.
|| Sunday Dinner ||Went there last night in a group of 5 people for quick dinner.Ambience/Music: The ambience is nice. Gives a full Punjabi touch. The special part here is the live music. The singer is awesome and I loved his music. I just wish the lights were a bit bright.Staff/Service: The staff is extremely nice and polite. Quick in their service.Food: In food we ordered Chicken Tikka Alisan, Veg Seekh Kabab in starters. Liked the chicken starter but the veg starter was just okay. In main course we ordered Butter Naan, Chicken Rara and Chicken Tikka Lababdar along with Lassi, Coke and Jaljeera. I wish the chickens were a bit more tasty. I did not like the main course here much. Though starters and lassi were good.#PhoneCameraFoodLife #ChickenTikkaLababdar #ButterNaan #ChickenTikka #ChickenRara #VegSeekhKabab
Food is good. But servicing is slow. We went during lunch time. There was no rush but still slow service.
The food is having amazing taste however the order takes very very long time to come after ordering...
It is really good for ala carte. Well maintained though being old. I was woth my teammates and it wasnt costlier either. Just 4k with food and drinks. Visited thrice to the same place
A nice North Indian restaurant. As the name suggests, Punjabi theme based. Ambience is very nice. Service is good. Live music was there. Food is delicious in apt price. Overall, a nice place.
Its a punjabi restaurant. Taste is good for both veg and non veg. Sometimes there would be additional dishes of chats may be based on any occasions. Buffets are also available. Corporate lunch and dinner are available. If you are fan of non veg and lassi, must try this restaurant once.
I really really love this place. Its my goto place for food when in Bangalore. Affordable prices and amazing interior. And the singer adds the soothe. Would highly recommend butter chicken of this place.
I visited this place for the first time with my loved ones.I loved the live music and food as well.the singer is so nice and sings really well.We requested two songs and he made us so happy...We enjoyed food and music.they serve good veg and nonveg food .we had fish tikka and chicken curry with kulcha and some starters.starters are must try .I would suggest everyone to have a glass of lassi whenever you visit here.
Nice food and ambience.Shorba is especially nice. Gulab jamun is very good as well. Nice live music is there too
We went there on Saturday night and it was not very crowded. We tried all chicken dishes - chicken malai kebab was the best.Live music was awesome, guy was really singing well. For 3 adults and 2 kids it costed us 1500 RS.
Good place to eat, near for eaco space.
This has been our Goto place whenever we want to eat North Indian food in Bangalore.
The food was good. Ambience was also good
I had a lovely end to a beautiful weekend with dinner at Punjabi Times. The live music is so good. The decor is pleasing and inviting and the staff is very attentive. The food was good and my craving for great Punjabi cuisine was satisfied beyond my expectations. All in all, I would definitely give this place another try.
The food is good, and I mean really good! Both veg and non-veg options rock! The quantity is pretty amazing as well, and I definitely recommend the biryani despite it being a Punjabi place. Theres singing involved which can be quite pleasurable and buffet is also available (specific timings). While not strictly related, bars are also available pretty close by which makes this an ideal place to visit. Go check it out!
Great place to eat North Indian Punjabi food
Not good food as expected for North Indian
Starters and veg menu is awesome.. Nonveg needs to be improved..
Food is definitely Good. A known problem of this place is waiting to get served. A long waiting outside is cool.. but after you placed your order you expect them to be quick.
Good tasty food, nice service & best part is live hindi old songs karaoke
I liked starters and dinner with limited budget....food is tasty
Overall good👍👍
Good for north Indian food, cost is little more as per quality. When name comes Punjabi, expectation is also more, some items need to be improved, like fish Tikka, chicken bhatinda reduce tomato it was little sweet, sarson da saag was average, fry in sarson oil with garlic. Live music with old melodies. Service tax 7.5% can be removed after too costly price menu.
Best North Indian food in the nearby area. Also, they have amazing live music. Have visited the place multiple times. Never disappoints
Dining experience spoiled by obnoxiously loud live music. Food was quite good, true Punjabi taste. The live music singers voice and choice of songs were good too. Problem was the loudness of his singing. We couldnt talk. When we complained to the manager, he plainly declined the request, stating that the singer wont be able to sing at any lower sound. Bad experience overall. I dont think Ill ever go back again there. I can order food online though. Food was tasty.
I like this place for dinners. I have visited this place multiple times and whatever food I tried is good over here. Nice ambiance and good live music available over here. I would recommend this place for nice evening dinners.
The food is good. But the buffet is not worth for the price of 599. Apart from that, loved the food and ambience. One minus is that the same music on loop will make you a little irritated
Nice place for dinner..Food is tasty and have variety of North Indian delicacies. They have live music which is a plus point. However, songs were quite old and did not match the mood or tone of the younger generation. You can also demand a song of choice.Place includes parking facility for 2 and 4 wheeler.Theres a ramp so wheelchair can be accommodated. Additionally the restaurant is located on the 3rd floor and has lift for convenience. The overall look of the restaurant seems to be traditional.
We went on a team lunch to this place on 19th of February, 2020. The first thing which I noticed after entering the restaurant is that it reeked of pesticide smell. Thats scary! Coming down to the food, the starters were okay at best. The fish was the best among all the mediocre non veg starters. Veg starters were relatively better. There were two welcome drinks which were good. The main course was pretty average too. Nothing out of the world. There were limited options for desserts as well. I would definitely advise against visitng this restaurant. There are better options nearby that too at a better price.
Just one word... Satisfaction at its best... Sometimes you invest a lot of money and feel cheated in terms of quality and quantity.. But this one... Really great...
Good food good service
Ordered Tandoori Chicken on 12 dec 2019. Chicken was raw and did not tasted fresh as well. Had to throw almost all of it.Did not expect this from Punjabi Times. It used to be pretty good some 4 yrs back.
Food taste was pathetic. We ordered Mushroom masala which is medium spicy but they delivered the dish with sweet curry. When we complained, the service boy got it back and fried with red chilly and served again. Really??A very bad experience. Though singer was good with good voice and choice of songs but volume was quite high which will give you a headache.
Good food with Punjabi music
Good ambience and lime light place. Located in 3rd Floor. Food is pricey and quantity is limited. Service charges are very high. Quality food is provided.
Punjabi times is pretty easy to locate. The interiors of the restaurant is pretty neat with a few installations here and there. The staff is friendly and the service is great. The food is priced a little on the higher side, but the quantity justifies it. And the taste is fairly good. The only draw back I felt was that the place was really mind numbingly loud. They had karaoke where people came in and sang songs which was actually irritating.
Excellent north Indian food. Dont miss the live performance every night. Make sure to send him your classic requests.
We went to lunch here. Service was not up to the mark. We tried basic starters and they were not bad. But the shorba was simply pathetic and we couldnt drink anything more than a spoon. The main course was okay though the service was a bit slow. The music selection could be better.
Good food.. avg ambiance..space is good... If you like old songs they have live music sometimes ...
Good food with nice ambience...
Good food and good ambience . The price is very reasonable and food is authentic Punjabi. Dining and takeway options available. Highly recommended
Im a regular ar ordering from this place and I like the food quite a bit. Its rich in flavour, so you cant have it every day, but pretty good once or twice a week. Visited the place in person recently and was surprised to see that they had live music! Service was decent and the food tasted better while hot. Would recommend
Worst quality food and bit costly .. not worth for the money
Food is excellent. Ambience is very good. Service was also great
They have nice ambience. There was live music when we were there. Food was tasty. But service was very slow. There are better retaurants in this area, if you are looking for punjabi food.
Punjabi times has become a regular stop for me. Their dishes taste like home food and the live music is soothing to hear. The service is also incredibly good. Definitely must try the Amritsari Kulcha.
Starter is good ... main course is avg.
Ambience is good... Good place to spend time with family and friends.. Live music is available... Food is ok ok....
The worst experience ever. Very bad smell and completely cold food. A very strong Noooooo
Live Music. 80s / early 90s. Food is good. Service needs to be little organized. We ordered 4-5 starters. All starters were served in one shot as if they were in some kind of hurry. Although on 3 tables were occupied in entire restaurant.
The buffet here is very good for the price. It offers around 10 starters both vegetarian and non vegetarian. They even offer a complimentary beer along with the buffet which was very nice. The price is moderate compared to other restaurants which offer the same level of quality.
Good place and accessible by all ways of communication.
The live music during the evenings is the attractive aspect of this restro. The food any like any other Punjabi restaurant. The bathrooms are Ill maintained.
I dont like the food that much..expected much from dal makhni in bangalore I guess... Glad to get aam tasty panna there.
Very nice place for enjoying the evening with friends and family. Food is good. Ambience is great. Service is also good.
Pros: not that costly, good service, good music (golden era Bollywood)Cons : food taste strictly okCheers!
Good evening time will old live on demand music to dip into old memories with good friends. You will feel like a wave with dip in past and crest of present. Feel like a time machine..
I love the veg starters and food here. Ambiance is also good and live old song on your demand is extra bonus.
Stinky smell of pest control spray all around!Food with bland taste!Waste of time!
Food was good. They had live music. Person was singing all old songs, that too at a very loud volume. So we had to shout to talk
Good taste/ambiance/staff... With buffet, u can have veg and non veg... Only problem is, being a punjabi style they dont have butter milk or lassi in the menu...
A decent hotel on the Sajjapur Ring Road. Clean and well maintained hotel. Courteous staff. Cost not very high. Pleasant ambience. Nice place for lunch with and family
The vegetarian options are very less and the taste is not up to the mark . . Had ordered soup nd veg seekh kebab but the soup was too sour . The kebabs were fine.
Good food. Awesome music. Very nice ambience. A must go place.
By name of Punjabi I went with my colleagues for lunch. I can say we all had delicious food and spent nice times there. Though, place is small but in budget its nice place for dining with friends and family.
Good ambience and service, especially if you dine in for the lunch. Very less crowd and food portion here is good for its cost. Overall a good place for masala food hoggers :P
As far as food is concerned service is very slow. We are group of 8 friend and with order of starter we ordered main course but we got our main course served after one hour of finish of our starter. I am giving one more star only for singer was there.
Very nice. Well maintained. Veg and non veg available. Interiors are unique. Customer service is very good. Good menu options. Very good to spend with families and friends.
Will suggest others not to go this place the buffet was so disgusting. No variety in starter. Main course state was so rubbish.
