We visited Machan restaurant (outdoor /alfresco ) lunch buffet on a weekday for our anniversary . This was our maiden outing in 2021 and since lockdown started sometime in March 2020 . We ware a little apprehensive about hygiene and social distancing . But this place is spotless clean , lots of place to move around and they make sure that we do not forget to put our masks on .The Staff was extremely courteous attentive and customer centric . I had requested for a cake (I wanted a fruit cake , without any milk products .) They made a fresh cake and delivered within on hour . They set up a lovely table with flowers and decorations etc. and made us feel very special . Thanks a TON TO VENKATESH and BAREEN for everything . (attached few pics) .Have not taken any food photos .But there is huge spread of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes , deserts , starters etc.I would recommend everyone looking to be treated like royalty do visit this place .

The food is the primary focus! We loved the ‘Chicken Onion Soup’ to get your palate started and if you just love Chicken do not forget to try the chicken marinated in buttermilk and crispy fried to provide you a delectable combination of juicy and crispy! The ‘Wild mushroom ragout’ is for people who love Italian flavours. A nice dish that’s subtle and yet not so filling. For main course there are a host of scrumptious options like the ‘Maori’s Lamb Chops’ (New Zealand Lamb chops with root vegetable puree’, crispy fried kale, Tomato and leek confit) or the ‘Tonga Reef’ if you love salmon. Among these delectable international dishes, you shall also find Indian highlights such as the ‘Kabini Lamb Chops’ or the ‘Kottayam Fish Curry’. There is a selection of Pastas and Pizzas in case that’s what you are looking for. And keep some space for the Signature ‘Bullseye’ a luscious chocolate and ice cream dessert that hits the right notes! The flavours are on point and each dish represents a sophisticate cooking technique by the chefs. How’s the Ambience? The restaurant has ample dining areas that include indoor, partially covered and open air spaces. You may choose what works best for you. The seating is pretty well spaced and offers much privacy. The greenery of the Taj Westend property provides the perfect backdrop to the ‘Machan’ experience. We particularly love the seating in the lawn.

I went there for an experience on weekend. The experience was the worst experience I ever had. I ordered a simple Margherita pizza, but their Pizza oven was not working. Here we are talking about The TAJ & it was a weekend. Post that I ordered a latte, a watermelon juice & pav bhaji. I am explaining how it was.The latte:First of all its not a latte. Its the same Rs. 5/- coffee u can get in general class compartment of Indian railway. Beleive me roadside coffee will be far better than that. In Taj they might charge you Rs. 900/- for that. The watermelon juice:Go to any local juice shop pay 30 rs. You can save more than 250 bucks. The pav bhaji:Finally some things delicious. The taste was good but the salad I got with it, that was not fresh for sure. Pls refer the images for the clarification.Inshort: Naam bade, but darshan chote.

Absolute disappointment. Didnt expect from Taj group. We went for a weekend lunch buffet. Hardly has any options for vegetarians. Wondering if all the vegetarians have disappeared from the world. Literally had two veg starters and out of 6-7 varieties of cakes in desert none were eggless. Had three indian sweet options in the whole desert spread. We travelled all the way to celebrate our childs Bday lunch and the child didnt get to eat a single desert. Really surprising. Waste of time and money.

I have dined at Machan couple of times. Its food quality / variety always surprises me. Upasana, the manager, deserves a special mention. She would ensure that everything is taken care of and she is extremely polite and responsive. We usually celebrate most of our family special occasions here. Located at Taj West End, Mynt is popular for its buffet lunch and dinner, though the a la carte is in no way disappointing. Beautifully lit with indoor and outdoor seating, it sure is one of the better gourmet restaurants in Bangalore. Perfect for a date or a gourmet dinner. Was here for our anniversary dinner, the fillet mignon was perfectly done and the staff courteous enough to get us a cake as well.

Have been to the Mynt restaurant at Taj west end and my experience is:FOOD:Average 6/10 didnt enjoy few food items, the fruits and watermelon juice were good but not the other juices and some of the food items are tasty and some are not at all tasty such as veg biryani (its just waste to eat biryani there)Ambience:Satisfactory 7/10 the ambience was good and they used lot of ceiling lights with a natural skylight which couldnt bring the natural light at all.Service:Average 6/10 their service is actually good but the waiters just take away plates and waste a lot of food if you take your hands off the plate. So be careful before taking your hands off.The washrooms were neat and clean but didnt have natural light inside. They felt completely enclosed with only artificial lighting.

Was staying at Taj West End for the weekend, the buffet breakfast is hosted at Mynt. There are vast options and variety of every kind of food you would want to eat from Continenetal to South Indian breakfast. The restraunt opens in to the garden which has pitched tents to sit and eat as your bask in sunshine. The hospitality and service is as good as expected from Taj.

Looking for a place to take your special ones for a memorable experience, no need to look for options TAJ is the perfect place to take them for dining. So I decided to take my inlaws for a dinner in Taj and we opted for Masala kraft since it was a north Indian restaurant, the ambience the decor of taj requires no description, just the name is enough. Though we have been to restaurants that have better interiors than masala kraft and better food, but the TAJ experience is all that matters and you should definitely take your loved ones atleast once for the experience.Food - 4/5The food was good in taste, nothing extraordinary.Price -You pay price for the experience here rather than the food 😉 It is quite expensive, but then again its TAJ!!

Booked a table for 3..Ambience is quite ok overall.. The music is very pedestrian and felt like I am sitting in a local taxi, which I have no issues with but given the ambience it could be better.Cocktails were refreshing.. The Rum Along Captain was citrusy and refreshing. The Lucknowi Seekh was lightly spiced and perfect, as was the doodhwaley Kebab. The Tandoori jhinga was the star of the show.. Spicy and each prawn the size of a small fist. For the mains, the Namkeen Gosht was light, with cashews and cream. Mutton could be more tender. Indian salmon was good too.Desserts were pretty run of the mill.Overall a good place but some slight tweaking can bring them up to their own Taj standards.

We just got back from Dubai and can clearly see these waiters are not trained top notch.Yet Taj ambience justifies $30-85 menu prices. The Kebabs as appetizer were mushed gooey 4 sticks. Not busy but long wait inbetween and no one refilled our drinks. The waiters run around like chickens with their heads cut off.All annoying when you have enjoyed best service in the world for similar price.Definitely wont be returning here.I wrote all of above at Masala Kraft waiting to be served 😞

We purchased four tickets for the NYE 2018 event at the Masala Kraft. While the entertainment and the drinks were of reasonable quality, the food was poor. The food lacked the premium ingredients and sophistication which would have justified the high price for the event. Unfortunately, even given the basic nature of the menu it was poorly executed. The starters were dry, the main courses lacked flavour, the naan breads were poor imitations. It was all really below par given that it is in the flagship Taj hotel.

Had the honor and privilege of visiting ‘Mynt’ this Saturday when my best friends family invited me for a brunch, celebrating her farewell as she left for college. You know that the experience is going to be no less that awesome, when you are going to a ‘Taj’ property, but the experience goes many notches higher when you are in company of warm, nice and amiable people. If I look back, I would certainly call the brunch at Taj West End, the best brunch in Bengaluru so far.Located in one of the best areas of Bengaluru, in close proximity to Vidhan Soudha, Freedom Park, Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park, Cubbon Park, Chinnaswamy Stadium etc., this oldest property of Taj in Bengaluru is a delight for eyes. It’s so serene and green that you will fall in love with it and start dreaming of settling down in the property for ever :) :) In a conversation with my friend’s family, I was told that the property is a heritage site with more than 125 years of history and was frequented by Sir Winston Churchill, Prince Charles, Rock and rollers Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith and the vivacious and beautiful Devika Rani. In the recent past, was told that Greg Chappel used to stay in the property when he was coaching the Indian Team.Lunch at ‘Mynt’ was a delightful experience to say the least. Mynt has a wide range of food options, starting from an exhaustive selection of salads, a selection of gourmet cheeses served with prunes and pistachio biscotti, basilica, lettuce, olives, humus, sun dried tomatoes etc. To add to the appetite were available a choice of veg / non-veg soups, along with a section of fresh fruit juices – fruit punch, water melon juice etc. The comprehensive buffet also had a snacking counter with a variety of options like live Spaghetti, fresh thin crust pizza, exotic veggies and Paneer Tikkas (yes, I am a Punjabi and there is no meal complete for us, without Paneer :P )There was no place left in tummy for main course, though there was a big menu waiting for us. Had eaten so much by then and obviously had to keep space for the tempting range of desserts, but did try ‘Appam’ with ‘Stew based in Coconut Milk’. My friend had insisted me to try it and I must say that it was worth the try :) :)Desserts were the showstopper, with a range of mouth-watering delicacies like ‘Anguri Jamuns’, ‘Ice Creams’, Cheese Cake etc.Loved the place and would recommend everyone to visit it at least once. There is no doubt that you are going to love it :) :)

The food however, is astonishingly good. The Kabuli Channa Chaat is one of the best dishes Ive ever eaten - the prefect blend of crunchy and spicy topped with fresh yougurt. The chickpeas main course had an insane amount of texture, thet combined an Indian staple with a lot of soft and crunchy textures to make the dish truly stand out. The roomali roti was really soft and cooked to perfection. Is it expensive? Yeah, goes with the territory. Would I go again? Probably. Do I recommend you try them once? BIASED!Thats the only word that comes to mymind when I reflect upon the entire experience.quite clearly we being normal Indian dinner guests, the treatment was in a lot of ways derogatory....PLEASE MIND THAT I HAVE NOT EVEN REVIEWED THE FOOD/AMBIENCE ANYTHING AS SUCH, YET!It being my birthday, my husband and I decided to go here, considering the status it has for a 5 star restaurant.clearly, we were extremely depressed by the service, I was in right mind to complaint straightaway there & then, but I didnt as I did not want to ruin my special day.The areas and issues we faced which I thought were biased and belittleling:1. When we ordered, Papad, we said, 1 roasted papad. The waiter brought a plate full, with 6-7 papads in it. I told him, I asked only for a generic dish - 1 Papad please. He totally asnwered in a way which reflected - surely you cant afford to eat here- - his precise words were Oh, dont worry its on us- you are not payinmg for it! CHRIST! Are you guys donating food?????? I clearly told then, doesnt matter if you are giving entire meal for free, wasting something is against my ethics and we do not require so many papads as we wouldnt eat them and they will be wasted. He said - khaa sako utna khao baaki ka waapis e jaunga... WHAAAT???? So thats either still waste, someones half eaten food or clearly the restaurant doesnt have standards.2. The Chef, was going around tables, asking EVERY SINGLE FOREIGNER DINING IN THE RESTAURANT, about how the food was, how was the exerience blah blah... BEHOLD... EXPCT JUST 2 TABLES - OUR TABLE & ANOTHER TABLE WITH YOUNGER INDIAN GUYS & GIRL DINING. So we are clearly not the worthy enough guests, right??????????????3. On finishing the dinner, the manager/server/desk guy clearly offered Paan to every single diner - again - foreigner!!!! AND NOW THE IMPORTANT PART - We and another 2 people - a foreign couple, were leaving the restaurant together, the manager, specially came and handed them paan and gestured them out - and as soon as he saw us, right behind them, HE TURNED AWAY HIS FACE AND HELD THE PAAN DISH CLOSE TO HIM AND JUST SLYLY IGNORING WALKED AWAY!!!!! Completely avoided us, even after seeing us leaving almost in parallel to the foreign couple. And again, only those younger group of another Indian diners - 2 guys & the girl, probably some college going bunch who saved up a lot to come and experience this place too- were given the exact same treatment.4. My husband just went up politely to one of the servers, and requested him, can you play something romantic or a birthday song or can just anything be done to make this special for my wife, its her birthday today. the Answer was - not even any explanation, forget about a 5 star restaurant making effort to make even a normal meal special for you- they actually spoilt our remaining desire to finish the dinner too by just a big fat blunt NO. I mean, even a normal restaurant would atleast give a reason or ask the manager/desk guy and normally 5 stars go out of their way to make even non-celebratory dinners for their guest special - these people went out of their way to make even a special occassion less than normally bearable. Now clearly note that for 2 of us, the bill mounted to some 4600, its not exactly a small amount - we ordered starter, main course, naans, buttermilks for 2 people. And being Londoners, having come to our own country and experiencing this is beyond expressable. We felt that we could belong to elite group, go to some other place next time, and forget this experience - but imagine what if such thing would happen to someone who can only dream of TAJ, and would be spending to go there and experience hospitality once in a lifetime?THEY SHOULD TREAT EVERY CUSTOMER AT PAR - Remember Taj was set up as an answer to Britishers demeaning behaviour towards Indians in their hotels, and this same bloody place now behaving as if they care for the foreigners and their own people are backward or something??????
