Very nice place

This place is my favourite guest house in Bangalore. Although it hosts a lot of Guests from Microsoft. The place has been a place for me to host a couple of people. The best thing here is service by the staff. They are very warm. The food here is fresh, the chef is open to prepare the food according to your liking. They have a cozy place.

This is a Microsoft guest house. The palace is nice, rooms are good and the service is excellent. Staff is also very helpful. Food is also good. The only thing with food with is that they have the same kind of gravy for whatever vegetables you order. Same even for veg and non veg dishes. So dont be surprised if you find the gravy of egg curry and aloo palak to be same.

Amazing and happy with service and food

I stayed in Shivam Homes for 3 months in the summer of 2019 during my internship with Microsoft Research. My experience had been quite fantastic and it almost felt like a home away from home for me. There are many factors which helped in making my stay comfortable. In this review, Im going to elaborate a little about each of them.Id say the biggest thing among all is the people, who are incredibly friendly and warm. Two persons deserve a particular mention here: (1) Manjunath Pujari: He takes care of the front-desk/reception. He always greets people with a pleasant smile, which was a great stress buster whenever I used to return from office. Aside from that, he is an extremely friendly and a jovial person. I had very nice conversations with him almost everyday on a variety of topics. I learnt a little about Kannada culture/cuisine from him. I think hes a great asset to Shivam Homes and hes the apt person to be at the reception.(2) Vasudev Pujari: He manages the kitchen and hes the main chef. The thing I like the most about him is that he is extremely sensitive to peoples tastes and cuisines. He tries to understand my requirements and used to cook in the style that I want. Aside from that, he also helped me with the planning for Kodachadri trip as he is from a nearby place called Kollur.Overall, these Pujari brothers are a bunch of wonderful people. They are supported by support staff members, who are very courteous.Next thing Id like to talk about is food, which is very homely. More importantly, I never had any problems after consuming that food anytime during my stay. My favorite dishes are Egg Bhurji, Egg masala, Dal, Kundapura-style chicken curry, bread omlet with ketchup, and sweet lassi. Also, they had a complimentary breakfast option and it was pretty decent. My favorite breakfast item is Idli, Neer Dosa and Aloo/Gobhi Paratha. The sambar they serve with breakfast is really delicious.Moving on, the facilities in the guest house are decent. There used to be glitches in the WiFi connectivity, but thats manageable. The air conditioner equipped in my room is a little bit old, it stopped working once, but they promptly fixed it. Anyways, I really didnt feel the need to turn on the air conditioner many times because Bangalore weather is extremely pleasant. There is a continuous hot water facility, which is good.This is a pretty safe place with a watchman looking after the premises during the night and an always-alert Manjunath to look after us. Therefore, Id recommend this place to all female-interns.Finally, the guest house is located at the heart of Domlur area and its pretty accessible to other areas in Bangalore. Airport Vayu Vajra bus stop is at a walkable distance from this facility. Also, there are a good number of grocery store options such as More, Family Mall, and also a bunch of saloon options. If youre into Yoga, there are a good number of Yoga studios near-by, which you can check-out.All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay during my summer internship. I thank all the staff members and the management (Mr. Shetty) for making my stay enjoyable and memorable.
