I have been a very regular customer to this franchisee since they started in BTM and then moved to Jayanagar 4th block.I visited this place after almost 7-8 years with hopes of having same old masala dosa and superb coffee. It pains a lot to share the news that dosa is no longer what it was, but still bearable.Coffee on other hand was so flat and bad - for the first time in really long time I left it unfinished. I never do that to a coffee..Service was really bad and rude, cleanliness was not up to expected standards from Maiyas. With heavy heart I would like to say that I may never return again here, so long to memories of amazing dosas and coffee here..
There is separate fan base for Maiyas coffee, all I have tasted at this place is coffee. Trust me you love to sip some strong coffee then you must definitely try this place. Nothing can beat it. Let me know if anyone have cracked how maiyas such coffee😛 please do share share with me on Instagram 🙏🏻
Excellent place for buying ready to serve and use vegetarian snacks and breakfast dishes, sweets available, situated on the main road, temp is checked and hands are sanitised and allowed inside for shopping, other covid19 protocol followed, masks are a must, credit cards and NCP payments accepted, no wheelchair access, parking on the road, friendly staff, fresh products available,
Food is not to the expected level. I fail to understand why people flock this place. There are much better places.
Maiyas make food with love ....there is no doubt .It has less oil and Ghee in Dosha.sweets are pure and little, so that you dont cheat too much.Better than other famous brands.
Coffee and tea both the beverages are the bestOther than that their bonda soup is good and they have a variety of ready to eat/cook food items
Redefining self service which includes self washing spoons and vessels. Found a Darkroom instead of washroom wow amazing. That is where mayyas has their photo studio I guess. On a serious note not worth going non hygienic, dont know why there was a long queue and waiting for this. Used to be good a long time ago but not anymore. RIP to people visiting during corona.
Decent food. Service could be better and quicker. Staff didnt pay attention to us many times.
Bought 2 plates of pooris today at 7.p.m for my dinner @ home. Chutney was stale and spoiled. Even Bombay sagu was not upto their standard and it was tasteless. Not expected such a nasty food from so called famous Maiyas.
Employees are very rude when you visit at 9pmThey either have to say its closed or they have to serve properly if they are letting us inThey insult on face as if we are at their mercy!!Poor customer experience
Simply horrible management food is not at all good, I recommend not to go, hospitality is horrible, attitude of the managemt is hopeless , this is what happens when something become really famous , they forget their roots
Good place to have a South meal. Very economical compared to other options in the vicinity.Place also serves other options, but best known for South dishes. People can visit once.
Maiyas signature food is south Indian and one should try it.. North Indian thaali is kind of ok ok.. person who takes orders should tell customers so that they can try.. otherwise experience wont be good..
Priced at rupees 25, by far the best filter coffee that you get in south bangalore.
The best place to have a Cup of Hot Filter Coffee in Bangalore. This place is infact famous for their Filter Coffee than for their Tasty food being served. A good place to take your family or friends over a lunch or dinner in Jayanagar.
Quality has deteriorated.. Bombay mixture and aloo bhujia were unbelievably bad
One of the best places for vegetarian Karnataka style meals. You can go for full unlimited meals or grab a quick bite of dosa and top it with coffee. Its usually crowded with coffee lovers.
Taste to hold their name and fame. The pricetag could have been reduced sothat hundreds of people who sip famous coffee could have tasted other food also.
Name and fame are big, however i felt everything average. Just to feel the legacy we visited empty stomach so that we can feel the real taste of Maiyas, but was big time disappointed. Masala dosa tasted was just like the ones we get from other local restaurants. There was no sambar with dosa. I had to eat it with coconut chutney only. Local road side restaurants make ragi dosa which is much tastier than the ones from this restaurant. Only coffee was above avg.
Maiyas has lost its charm. Never order North Indian food here. The coffee is awesome and so are south Indian dishes
No old charm of having coffee.. Taste is absolutely down trend
I recently had lunch there its decent, nothing special.
Food is tasty but nothing exceptional. Its a good restaurant no doubt, but the hype surrounding it is not justified. If you are planning to go there, be worried about the car parking situation.
Good coffee but bad presentation. The coffee invariably spills over because it is filled to the brim and the ceramic Cup is small thus splashing over customers clothes.management please look into this and find a remedy fit for your reputation.
Maiyyas combines work with pleasure. You can have authentic coffee served in a silver tumbler. Conduct your meetings over a plate of Masala dosa served with ghee and chutney. And it is very reasonable. A must for a foodie
South Indian food is at its best but North Indian is above average
Nice place for quick coffee and snacks. Variety of snacks and sweets to take home. Good service. Customer friendly staff 😍
Maiyas was once v famous and food was v tasty, when I visited last time ,had rava idli but to my surprise was not to its original taste, coffee was not upto the mark, there are self service restaurants which gives tasty items with a cheaper rates.
I had South Indian meals and it was a very good bargain for the food that is served there...with 2 type of palya saagu...unlimited poori,Rice Baath(vaangi bath on that day), Rice with sambar and rasam and curd at the end was satisfying and worth every penny..Try the Masala dosa, Akki rotti and the special Bisibele Baath...it will be really mouth watering..
Please avoid North Indian thaali.South Indian is also not that good. Dont go by the menu listed in Google.its utter waste.Avoid Maiyas restaurant at jayanagar
Food was healthy and hot. Raagi rotti and akki rotti in the evenings are awesome. Services are okay. Hygenic hot water is available on your table. Bisibele bath was also awesome.
Not as it was! Insted of going to this place after waiting for hours together we can go to any other place to enjoy the same menu -- of course with lesser price n good service
The Rava Idli was ok ok. I did not like the potato curry with it .
Dosa is excellent. Giving 3 stars only coz I had to wait for 30 mins, after we got the table almost nothing was available. They could have informed the customers during waiting time. W could have looked for other place instead if waiting for nothing
No value for money, taste is also not good. Worst experience ever had. Careless service too. Utter waste of time and money.
Not very happy with the menu and the taste. Ordered Ala carte food. Masala dose was ok ok. Poori was oily and the saagu didnt help to enhance its taste. Hara bhara kabab was not worth the money.
Food quality is good had south indian Thali..service needs improvement not all complete stuff was served..had to insist for rice sambhar papad etc...normaly in South Indian thali they keep asking for refills but here one had to ask for it even when restaurant was not crowded
Too crowdy no wheel chair accessible but eatables are good clean n tidy, affordable price
Need to wait to get seated.Similar to mtr taste and variety of food is great
Dosa, chow chow bath and akki rotti is so tasty here
Excellent and clean place. Ultimate breakfast n lunch. Nice place to go with families
Hell with your coffee .. that too over priced! No taste, not refreshing. Kindly put expert coffee maker in your hotel.
Authentic namma Bengaluru food.Clean and hygienic, delicious. Gets crowded at peak hours with a long queue. Off peak times, fantastic 👌. Coffee is strong, no chicory, so for authentic coffee taste folks its a delight.Slightly on the expensive side compared to darshinis but worth the money 👍👍If you love to indulge in traditional food and an ambience that takes you to the olden times, this place is worth it. If you are coming with your own four wheeler, you might have to think of where to park. Rest is good. Weekend luncheons are crazy with more waiting time. But worth it.
Good food typical south indian fair but wait times a big donwer.
Its one of the best South Indian restaurants in Bangalore located in the heart of Jayanagar. Very clean and hygenic. There are some specialties such as the masala dosa, lunch thali and cofee which are excellent, while the rest of the items are decent but not outstanding as such. Its a great place to go with family as everyone can get what they want and none of the dishes are going to be too bad.The food is slightly on the expensive side, especially for a South Indian restaurant, but if you want a dine-in, hygenic and good tasting Karnataka food itll be worth the price.A definite must-try.
Nice. Reasonable price and authentic south indian and vegetarian food. Gujarati and Rajasthani thali not served these days due to covid pandemic. So are bakery items wont be available. Must visit for tiffin though.
Veg meals. This is a five floor vegetarian restaurant.Ground floor: Sweets, and coffee. Maiyas coffee is very famous.First floor: Tiffin itemsSecond floor: south mealsThird: north itemsFourth: kitchenFifth: StoreQuality of food is very very good. Service is also good. Meals was of Rs 222. It was a multi-course meals with many items.Ambience of floor 2 was not too great. But the way they deal with customers is good.
Hyped up and not living up to the expectations. The dining area is dirty
I dont need to say anything about Maiyas thy serve best south n north meals good to visit with families n frns.... Enjoyed a lot!!!!
Coffee ultimate. Havent tasted better coffee yet.
Coffee super, all food of good quality, they sell their own Brand food items, all are good quality.everybody like it,I used to visit on the way almost twice a week.
Good Spacious Seating, Excellent service and Decent Servings. Satisfied.
Best place for nice family breakfast or lunch. Good clean and teasty food
If you are out of sambar, idli etc, inform the costumer waiting outside. It was frustrating to wait for 30 mins only to know nothing is available.
The quality of the south meals has gone down. The food was cold and rice was low quality. Taste wise its good also they have ready to eat packaged food on ground floor.
South meals is ok but north meal is robbery. for 2 roti of nrml size, 3 small cup curry 1 cup rice etc for which is not even worth for 100rs is at 200rs
Its so nice to b there... M dosa....+ Coffee =~happiness
Very delicious and tasty food. waiters are not attentive. You need to keep waving at them to get anything after order..Pudi masala dosa is worth trying! Its very good.Ghee roast dosa is also amazing...Rava idli superb, and bonda soup is divine.Well spaced and lot of room for people to sit.Hygienic!Except for the waiters its a great place to go!!
Maiyaas @ Jayanagar is one the best restaurants in Bangalore. My friend Arun is a die hard fan of this restaurant. From past 10 years we are going to this restaurant....really amazing....must try food is Masala Dosa with coffee....
Quite a pleasant experience today morning. Ambience is quite jaded now which created a doubt in us on food quality. However all the dishes we ordered were great stuff & quite yummy with a touch of extra friendly staff. Rush one of the weekends if have not been there in a long time specially for breakfast. Cost ₹300 for us couple which is quite easy on the wallet but a satisfying experience for the tummy.
Authentic Bangalorean - Amazing Rava idli
Food is awesome always, nevertheless they are not following any covid regulations other than making people to sit apart in the tables. No temperature check, no force sanitization method and no wiping of the table with some sanitization solution.
Worst meals. Only idli is good and bakery iteam is good. Rather than all south and north dish is bhakavas.
Excellent options for vegetarians. Locations is in middle of Jaynagar and you can easily commute to reach restaurant via all modes. You have variety of options in breakfast and unlimited dosa lunch with snacks and chats. In ground floor you have variety of options to buy maiyas ready made food products like dosa batter, various rice bath power, ready to eat food with many options of sweets and spicy food. Outside there is Pani Puri count and coffee counter. Service is excellent and staff of very helpful in guiding and explaining about food. Overall its a good place for family outing to enjoy food.
Being a south indian restaurant, it is running out of south indian thaalis, n guess we had to wait for 40 minutes for a mere north indian meals which was like kichidi... Wyaak...
Nothing fancy or extraordinary here. Masala dosa and rava idlis were average. Coffee too wasnt upto the mark. The only thing that was good was that cup of hot badam milk. I dont understand why people visit this place and stand in queues to get a seat! Avoid this place, not worth the wait.
No ice cream Or bakery products. Mostly they sell packed ready to eat food in stores.
Popular hangout place for coffee and south indian food.Very crowded.Parking always full.
Has maintained good quality, but selection of sweets for example has come down.
Very popular outlet in the area, conveniently located slightly away from heart of crowded 4th block.Service section upstairs but unfortunately they are closed on every Monday-only self service section is open on Mondays. Lunch was supposed to be ready at 12 noon as per display but we were asked to come back at 12.30Good place for quick south Indian food. Parking available on street
Very bad service. Tindi very bland. Poor choice of Menu. Very bland. Tasteless. So very disappointing.
Not worthy to put so much of money, taste was ok, masala dosa tasted sour
Wow wow wow all items were awesome and tasty too 😊.We went to South Indian meals which is at 3th floor, inside its very less space and everything food served was too good in quality and quantity wise 😊😊😊.Please dont forget to have all items, empty your stomach so that u can have more food here 😊.He will serve one by one, dont worry if u going with kids, he will wait n serve you. Until you finish your stuff they wont serve the next one ☺.Enjoy the South Indian dishes 😀.
Lunch Review——————This the place for people who enjoy South Indian food. Staff are very friendly and food is very delicious. When you compare with other places like BBQ Nation and AB’s, this is much better place, it’s cheaper in price and light on stomach. Must try after a heavy lunch is their coffee(ground floor). You also get egg less cakes and pastries, which looks yummy( haven’t tried those). Waiting time during weekend is long, but it’s worth the wait. Overall it’s a good experience. 👍Tiffin review————-We went in the evening around 8 pm, we tried besi Belle bath, masala dosa, Kara bath and bonda soup. Besi belle bath was best. Evenings normal idli and sambar is not available. Only chutney & Sagu is available in the evenings no sambar in the evenings. Over all its good and service and servers are good.
Good food... the bonda soup, masala dosa and coffee.
Outerlook is fine. But basic facilities like wash rooms is very bad
Love their crispy masala dosa topped with ghee and their super strong coffee. Their bisi bele bhath and rava idly are good too. A must visit for all idly and dosa lovers. The only thing they need to improvise on is the maintainance of social distancing keeping COVID in mind but otherwise a great place.
Wide variety of thalis from the house of Maiyas... A best place to grab lunch and dinner with family.
Food lovers can have a visit for authentic south Indian food to maiyas...
One could get the best version of the Coffee and yummy evening snacks here. One must try the crispy Mosaru kodubale here. If you are craving for Mosaru kodubale, avoid on Monday since they dont prepare on Mondays. The restaurant services are closed on Mondays but the fast food and snacks counter is open. One could find the ready to eat dishes from Soup till the Dosa batter. There are lot of instant mix available to make cooking life simple.
I had purchased samosas and they were pathetic, because what is projected on the cover and what is inside are totally different and it as hard as a rock. This is cheating customers , having such a good brand. Request you to improve the quality and the filling should be tasty with potato etc , else dont do samosas / do limited frozen samosas , else everything like Bakarwadi, Kachori and Samosas are all the same and has no diff and this is fooling public.
Service was average..huge crowd at cofee counter at the entrance because of floating population. For two people ₹400/- was costly for average service.
Poor quality of food and not comparable to MTR Special Meals. The items are bare minimum and tasteless. Mr.Sadanand Maiya founder of MTR but maiya is a tragic
