It is exactly located in circle which connect metro station UB City in Bengaluru. One of the entrance to cubbon park popular called as Chamarajendra park. Visit once preferably early morning since you got to see people jogging doing yoga excercise and so on.The Statue of Queen Victoria, Bangalore, is located at Queens Park, next to Cubbon Park, Bangalore Cantonment, at the junction of 3 roads, at the border between the Cantonment and the Bangalore Pete. The statue was unveiled on 5 February 1906 by the then Prince of Wales, George Frederick Ernest Albert (who later became King George V).Queen Victoria statue erected in the year 1906. This is situated right at the entrance of Cubbon Park and difficult to notice due to extensive greenery covers around the area. Noticed this while walking after parking my car inside.Statue of Queen Victoria may be out of sorts in the free India and for some it may even a sour reminder of our slavery to England. But no one can deny it represent history. Most of the colonial statues were removed after Indian independence. Luckily in Bangalore we have these statues still erected. Queen Victoria, King Edward and Sir Mark Cubbons statue are located in the Cubbon Park area. These relics need to be preserved. Most of the colonial statues were removed after Indian independence. Queen Victoria statue stands at the edge of Cubbon park, also known as the lung space of Bangalore. This section called the Queen’s Park has been developed into a beautiful garden with avenues of Polyialthia longifolia trees on either side with a lawn at the centre. The Cubbon park is home to 5 historic statues of Lord Mark Cubbon (originally installed at Parade Grounds in 1866), Queen Victoria (installed in 1906), Dewan Seshadri Iyer (1913), King Edward VII (1919), Mysore Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar (1927)Queen Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria 1819 - 1901) was the monarch of the United Kingdom(Great Britain & Ireland) from 1837 until her death. She became the Empress of India after the dissolution of the East India Co, in 1876.The Queen, held the prestigious crown for the longest time from the age of 18 for almost 64 years. The diamond jubilee of Queen Victorias coronation in 1897 was first celebrated in Bangalore & Mysore, four months ahead of the event back in England. After the her death in 1901, 50 statues of the Queen were shipped from London, to be erected across India, in 1905.Sculpted by Thomas Brock in England, this 11ft marble statue, dressed in flowing robes, holding a scroll & an orb, was placed over a 13ft granite pedestal. It was inaugurated in 1906, by the Prince of Wales, who later became King George V.Nearby Cubbon Park police station was built to protect her statue. The statue today is more than 107 years old & this is one of the five remaining statues of the Empress in India.

Statue of Queen Victoria may be out of sorts in the free India and for some it may even a sour reminder of our slavery to England. But no one can deny it represent history. When the Statue of British Royalty were relegated to Museum in various Indian Cities, the fact Queens Statue has left untouched and still given a prime place in Cubbon Park clearly shows the Culture Tolerance and proud legacy of people of Karnataka.
