What comes to mind when you say a homely experience? Authentic, simple food. Warm hospitality. And most importantly, someone feeding you like your favorite aunt/granny/friends mom who thinks youre never going to eat again :-) The ambience is so warm and inviting, the service is exemplary (hi Harry) and the food is incredible. All the meat, perfectly cooked. Flavors, banging! Portions, ample. But they customized my meal to remove dairy (too sweet) even though I was a lone diner. Divya was an incredible host and took me through all components of the meal. A must, must do!
Came for the food. Stayed for the experience. Left with a satiated appetite, belly laughs and a whole bunch of reasons to come back. Divya and Vishal made the entire experience lovely. Good banter. And they engaged with everyone...asked about our preferences and got us to try different combinations for that extra gastronomical experience. We were fully taken care of and allowed to truly taste and savour each morsel. Highly recommend it.
I was taken by surprise with the simplicity of the place. Probably one of my best meals i have had in a very very long time. Food is not too complicated. Flavourful, sumptous and worth every bit of time spent. Cant have asked for a better meal. Keep it up. Retain the lost recipes.
The best food with the best hostess!Truly loved the coffee at the end :)A must try for sure!
It was not a restaurant.....It was an experience in itself! Wow. Heavily impressed by the attention you get from the owners and the approach towards the food. They explain the ingredients, the history and the way to eat the particular dish and its combinations. Though you are paying a premium for this, the experience more than makes up for the value. The food was fresh and delicious.
Outstanding food and hospitality. If it is your first time, you may be initially underwhelmed by the sizeof the place and its location but this quickly disapoers once you meet your host and the various courses of your meal start being served.
It was nice & homely. We met Ms Divya Prabhakar, the owner of this place. What an amazing host, we could actually taste the authentic South Indian delicacies. It was indeed an experience to remember. A word of caution... please book in advance as it only serves food on request. Dont cancel the booking as they take lot of pride in preparing the food for you & they dont want to waste it. This is something which I found to be unique & I absolutely support the cause. Look forward to visit this place again. Cheers 👌🏻
Very different ambience. Excellent cuisine particularly the fried fish preparations. And the owner Vishal Shetty gives her customers a nice brief on how it all started and nuggets on their various food offerings.
Fantastic food and even more fantastic host in Divya. Must try place again and again.
I’ve been ordering the Habba Oota dabbas from the Oota Company since an year, and each one of them has wowed me. Their quantities are value for money and all of them taste amazing. And the little touches ( the tambula) in each habba box is a nice touch. I’m a vegetarian and while the impression I initially got was a place that specialises in meat preparations, each dabba has convinced me that this place cooks wonderful food, whatever be your preference.
Amazing and authentic food. Had a great experience overall!
This isn’t your typical restaurant mealIt is much much more than thatTucked away in a cosy corner of old Bangalore and run by two of the most gracious hosts you can meet, this is a rare gem in Bangalore’s bustling culinary landscape. The meal is curated based on your dietary preferences -a set menu that keeps your taste buds electrified for the two hours that you will end up spending there. The food is simply outstanding but what’s even more heartening is the bonhomie and the hospitalityThis is not just a meal, it’s an entire experienceReservations are a mustThis one is not to be missed
Amazing experience! Highly recommended. Quite a unique concept. Enjoyed the food, service and the overall time out. Of course, will go again, soon!
Its Good but takeing too much time for food
I decided to celebrate my 28th birthday here with my immediate family including a one-year-old and two month old. The food was delicious, the service impeccable, but Divya and Vishal’s hospitality is unmatched. Vishal calmed my two month old niece miraculously. They also surprised me with a cake for my birthday along with an amazing payasam and filter coffee. We loved our first experience with Mangalorean and Gowda food. We’ll be back the next time we visit Bangalore. Thank you for the hospitality.
Vishal and Divya, with their superb staff, make this restaurant a must-visit in Bangalore. The food is fresh and scrumptious, the ambiance is authentic and the hosts make you feel like family. It’s a unique experience for even the most seasoned diner. If you dig authentic regional Kannadiga food, don’t forget to make an appointment. recommend
Visited Bengaluru oota company today for lunch.I have written about things to be done before visit, good, and bad experience about my visit.Things to be taken care before visit:1. Book a prior appointment before visiting the restaurant.2. Theres no walk-in, so book it atleast 2 days prior to visit.3. Once booking confirmed, make sure to share the list all the food items you need during your visit.Images or menu in Zomato is not reliable, as the main items in menu changes as per availability.4. This is a buffet(not self service) or all you can eat or eat as you wish type restaurant.5. Confirm the price prior appointment (Ill tell why it is important). Todays visit made a big hole in my wallet.Good:1. This is a typical house type restaurant. You have to enter by ringing the doorbell (yes I know, different).2. Youll receive a warm welcome from House (restaurant) host. It can be Divya or her partner. Theyll show you the table and make you comfortable.3. Food menu includes Gowdara style and Mangaluru/Karavali style. So, youll get both ragi ball with mutton gravy as well as fish fried in coconut oil with items having Jackfruit.4. Once the menu is fixed and written on the blackboard. Youll be served with items one after the other.Remember, its eat as you wish. So, Make sure to ask for one more serving if you like any food item!!We had 3 servings of Kaane fish fry and we were served with a joy face each time we asked for additional servings.Bad experience:1. First and foremost bad experience is the amount charged per pax.Dont believe the Zomato or other price mention as its not correct. We were charged 1732.5/person inclusive of tax for nonveg menu which doesnt match the food items served and varieties in menu. Please make sure to confirm the price before you visit the location. The food and service can amount to 800/- to 1000/- but 1700/- is way too much for simple food menu:Kaane fish fry, Jackfruit idly, chicken gravy, mutton pallav, prawns ghee roast, curd rice, salads, rasam, brinjal fry, hot beverage.I paid 7000/- for 4 people which is way beyond for the food and service2. I specifically mentioned that we are strict non-vegetarian and need items of Mangaluru/Karavali style but was not satisfied as Neeru Dose is expected but not served.Fish fry and prawn ghee roast alone cannot be considered Karavali style.3. Bannur mutton pallav was good but the meat was hard to eat.4. No parking space available, the entire area is surrounded by defence compound and strict no parking.Consider yourself lucky if you find a parking space that doesnt attract Bengaluru traffic police and fine or towing.I would have given 4 stars but the cons made me give 3 stars.
Amazing meal. It was so great learning about different regional food. I think this is probably our best dining experience in Bangalore. Highly recommended.
An amazing culinary experience, absolutely delicious and exceptional food. Be ready with a 7+ course meal but the gastronomic experience is just out of the world. I would say it is a must try and you should experience it if you are in Bengaluru. Highly recommend.
Excellent Karnataka home type food, great service , a Lovely gourmet experience
We took the 5 days tiffin option and the food was amazing. Its really homely and its not a food you could get bored easily. If it was not for the distance I would have loved to continue from them.
Had a wonderful evening. The food was as always..... excellent. The chicken ghee roast was something to die for. The ghee rice, mutton curry and the ladyfish were out of this world. Every one enjoyed the food. Thank you Vishal for an unforgettable experience. Look forward to many many more visits to Bengaluru Oota company.
In a unique dining experience! And the food was delicious and versatile too. The ladies who own the place were also with us throughout to help us understand the cuisine better.
Such a great space in a beautifully painted old Bangalore house, and such warm people. The all-women team of cooks is great to see, and their love for food and engagement comes through in everything. I especially liked the concept of booking in advance to reduce waste and to experience the sense of visiting a friends house for dinner; you come in and sit at a dining table, eat whatever is put in front of you and leave with a sense of warmth and friendship. Truly dining with a difference! I would love to return regularly.
Delicious food. Fantastic service. The hostess who is also a founder of the establishment, presented each dish with a flourish and explained the origin and content in detail to our foreign guests in our partyThe service was impeccable. They only take in limited number of guests on a day. Advance reservations are needed. The food is cooked in authentic home style recipes with dishes unique to Bangalore/Mysore and Dakshina Kannada regions. Highly recommend the place for a fabulous dining experience
Best place recently visited... Great food and great host explaining each dish with insight. Loved the experience and had great time with friends.... Must visit
Genuine home cooked food. Very exclusive. Set menu of different kind every day. Reservation is a must. No valet parking.
If trying underrated regional cuisines is your thing, then this is the place for it. We ate a multi-course meal with dishes from Mangalorian and Gowda cuisines. Every dish was flawlessly executed, and presented in a manner and surroundings that will instantly make you feel at home. The hospitality of the hosts is top- notch as well.
Amazing food with homely feel, ambiance is amazing and so is staff
Lovely experience. We went in a big group of 11 with from 5 to 55 years old. Everyone loved the food and the way it was served with lots of Love and care. Beautiful experience. Will be there soon again to try other mouth watering dishes :)Must go if you are looking for a non rushy non pushy authentic eating experience.

Parking:Preferably take your own driver. Parking here can be tricky.Food:Outstanding local fare. You will need to book in advance though.Service:Excellent personalised service. This is a go to place if you want to experienceExperiential Dining
Well, this a small cozy place to dine. So much homely feel. Being from Karnataka, if someone serves me Karnataka style food, wouldnt I love it ? Big thumbs up for this place. Only thing I regretted here was being a vegetarian. But , what they served for vegetarian was also superb. Homely feeling, unlike any restaurant, food is not just service+taste here, its also an experience. Recommend calling them up before hand to get reservations here.
Best place i have known so far i recently visited...they have a Great food and great staff which explain every each of dish with insight. Loved the way they serve and rally had great time there with my friends....
Its a must go for any Mangalorean & Gowda food lover. This place has an amazing ambience and friendly staff. The owners are too nice and lovely. Youre treated more like a guest than a customer. If given a chance would give 10 stars. Great team
A fabulous meal with great service. The food was delicious and the service was very good, especially considering we were a group of around 15 people. Very impressed! The mutton pullao was just sensational.
May be slightly expensive for many. But ideal for people who want to explore the lost cusine of Karnataka. Friendly owner and staff who are happy to educate you about the cuisine. The place accepts reservations only. The food is very fresh and is exclusively prepared for you. Ideal for a cozy dinner or lunch with a small group.
Loved this place. Friendly hosts.. Great food...homely experience... Would recommend going on a empty stomach to enjoy the 5 course meal and finish with a good filter coffee! Booking ahead is required
Local cuisine served with a lot of class. Great experience; hosts are very gracious. Book a day in advance. (A bit expensive)
Good Gowda and Mangalore cuisine. Awesome ambience! Loved the girls who run the place. They had their interesting stories to share. Can seat only minimum people. Food is great! Will be going for more..😍
Had heard a lot about this place and finally organised a lunch with colleagues! This asking experience was a gastronomic delight for! Had a sampling of ethnic Mangalorean and good cuisine freshly cooked and absolutely flavourful!! Each course was well thought of and I would strongly recommend to go along with the recommendations offered by the restaurant! Will definitely come back again! Congratulations to the team at Bangalore Oota Company for maintaining such high standards and understanding the essence or regional cuisine!
Amazing food and great hosts. Vegetarian options couldve been better though
Nice food great environment. Loved the fried fish and ghee roasted prawn.
We had a wonderful dinner here, with Kosambari served with rice crisps, prawn gussy with neer dosa, Bannur Mamsa pulao with raita and mint chutney and pork cooked Kodava style and mango curry, followed by curd rice, rasam and beans poriyal, jackfruit masala and Khushi Khushi payasam. There were extra options for the vegetarian palate as well. Beware of the tasty starters, as there are so many delicious dishes to follow that you should conserve your stomach space. Definitely worth several repeats.
Still in a happy trance after a blissful evening with friends on a Friday evening. Subtly spiced, beautifully cooked Mangalorean and Gouda food, superb service and a feeling of eating in a warm, loving friends home.
We had a fantastic experience here. You need to book several days in advance. Dietary requirements are catered to. Fresh produce is bought daily, cooked fresh and served like a degustation menu showcasing the best of local cuisine.
A very different and special experience. Great food and soothing environment. Interactive and friendly hosts.
Amazing cuisine and hospitality. A unique symphony of delightful flavors.
The foods fit for a King !Subtlely spiced course after course of deliciousness !Simply superb !Dig in and then work out !No problem😀
Love this place. Super fresh, always delicious. Warm and friendly service.
Lipsmacking stuff. Perfect for small cozy get-togethers .. three hours of gupshup and streaming line up of authentic Mangalorean cuisine.
Authentic Mangalorean and Gowda cuisine that reminds you of your roots and provides the uninitiated a taste of the delectable food specials from this region. Loved the simple decor and the warm host as well.
Great (local) fare and conversations in a lovely, homely setup.
Really nice course meal in south Karnataka style. The meat and ingredients used are excellent. The place is expensive and the food is a bit too much. Not too many can do justice to all the food served. I wish they had a mini meals option
Authentic manglorean and gowda food. Every dish has a story to tell. Lip-smacking food, homely ambience and above all the hosts. Dont forget to try Bannur mamsa pulav, manchi kori and rasam. At the end of the meal, a hot filter coffee takes you to the heaven from where you dont want to come back. A must visit to this award winning place. I am sure you wont get disappointed.
It was an experience in itself, great company, great food, greater generous host. What else does one need for Nirvana.
Good for a one off experience where you get a private space but if are not into conversation and are looking for great food, you may be a little unhappy about it. Food tastes good in portions and in some cases may be an acquired taste, because it is not the regular mangalorean or traditional Gowda fare. It is more designed for an experience rather than taste.
What can one say about this place - the spread, variety and the taste - out of this world! Normally one tends to have some discomfort or heart burn after eating a 4 course traditional and an authentic South Indian spread, however since this is as good as homemade, all the goodness (morsels) just goes down smoothly. The only drawback or I would say a constraint is the size of one’s stomach - because everything served here is so so good! Even the two hosts are warm and friendly making one feel at home. Parking is a slight challenge knowing the location, but one can always take a metro till Ulsoor or a cab. Must visit especially if you are looking for some serious gastronomic adventure! Tip: skip your breakfast or any meal prior to your visit to ensure there’s sufficient space in your stomach :P
No fuss, focused only on the food. Went there for lunch, ate so much could not even think of dinner.
This place is too good. Food is sumptuous and mouth watering. Good concept. Keep it up.
Really authentic. Booking ahead mandatory. Great value for money. Wonderful service. Genuine hospitality.
Should you be looking for authentic food from the Karnataka & boarder region then this is the place to check out. You need to book a table first and discuss the menu you’d like to try, though. Due the limited seats and that personal attention to both the food and you n your guests the experience is beyond excellence and makes you want to come back for more. Also Price depends on the Menu and very pocket friendly.
Good taste
Good home cooked food if you are looking for head to this place..good food and nice ambiance
Its a must go for any Mangalorean & Gowda food lover. This place has an amazing ambience and friendly staff. The owners are too nice and lovely. Youre treated more like a guest than a customer. If given a chance would give 10 stars. Great team 👍

Truely an amazing experience to taste authentic traditional southern Indian cuisine in a home-style restaurant setting. A must see/taste. Required to book ahead.

Oota company was really good and there is a good service
Authentic coastal karnataka cuisine. Excellent service and welcoming staff.
Yummy is the word - the spread, variety and the taste - out of this world! as good as homemade, warm and friendly hosts and staff.
It is closed
Quality good, personally hand crafted, and hygienic. Very friendly and professional service.
Absolutely love this place. Just make sure u get there early to enjoy the spread peacefully.
My favourites were avarikai playa, pineapple curry, mamsa pulav and the badam halwa. The first curry is a type of flat bean that tastes healthy and tasty. Pineapple curry is like a pickle or relish, I am going to order that in bulk for consumption, truly a discovery. Pulav is typical to Karnataka style biryani but the mint chutney adds zing. Lastly though I dont eat sweets the madam halwa was rich in taste, a must try. The concept of food from local cuisines of Bangalore and gowda is new. Considering gowda is the mysuru to kolar belt region where Bangalore is nestled in the heart, it was refreshing to know and taste this cuisine. Vishal was an amazing host and gracious to accomodate us at short notice. Even the ones not mentioned here were a good to give it a try folks. Overall a thumbs up for regional experience above par.
If you are looking at most authentic Karnataka food Experience look no where else. The concept of asking for a customized menu preordered for you - really pushes this gastronomic expanse - must try to realize the wonders of this cuisine.
One of a kind experience. Authentic mangalorean and gowda food is served in banana leaves. Call them couple days in advance to pick your dishes. This is a must try in Bangalore!
Over hyped and over priced for a normal home cooked food
Great food, awesome concept, lovely friendly hostesses. You book a day in advance and say how many of you and your good preferences. Then you go in the next day for an excellent freshly prepared menu of delectable Manglorean and Gowda food...Yummy!
It was nice&homely, we met Priya kumar, what an amazing host.
Amazing amazing amazing food ! Friendly staff .. must try !
The best lunch Ive ever had. Book a seat in advance and customize your menu. The mutton pulav is to die for.
Quite disappointing, this is a private kirchen andnot a restaurant, we keep calling the number they dont pickup, land at location and turned away...
Authentic. Delicious. Warm. 5 star food and service. Must visit place. Again and again.
Amazing experience of dining and most authentic food ! Kudos to the 2 ladies for bringing the home food feel ...
Bengali lunch. Cooked by Iti Mishra. WHATAMEAL!
Good... They take students for training too
We had a wonderful dinner here, with Kosambari served with rice crisps, prawn gussy with neer dosa, Bannur Mamsa pulao with raita and mint chutney and pork cooked Kodava style and mango curry, followed by curd rice, rasam and beans poriyal, jackfruit masala and Khushi Khushi payasam. Great warmth, food, hospitality.. Personalized service. Unique menu.
