Terrible online customer service.Placed an order to then receive notification that half the order is cancelled. Logged with customer service and no response.Escalated to the senior management and still no response.Half the order arrived and it still contained the security tags so I couldnt wear the clothing even if I wanted to.Worst experience of online shopping ever

Wow. We are ok delivery of a smashed dinner set that the lovely lady from Hermes had taped and Matalan refused the help us, charged for the full amount and left us with 60%of the goods . Refused to replace or refund. Even with pictures. Disgrace! They really do not care and just want your money .

Tried phoning & emailing ordered polo shirts on line paid for them, had an email to say out off stock & would be refunded still waiting happy to take my money though !!

The staff in charge are absolutely useless and dont care about people at the Knowsley distribution centre. I strongly recommend you not to work for these incompetant people, and they only care about themselves,very poor work place,atmosphere and moral.

Head office are friendly. and able to sort out your query.

Not a bad tip pretty quick, but ruined by an over zealous security guard who wants to search your cab on the way in. Now the only way they can legally search your cab even if you are on there property is with the police there. They cannot even stand on your step and look in however they can use a stepladder by climbing up it. They can refuse you entry to the site with say so from goods in office. I was willing to allow them to call the police and search my cab or be turned away, they decided as they needed my product ( Halloween costumes) they would allow me in. The same process is then repeated on way out. Threaten to drive through gate if he does not open it

Never , never, never, shop on line with this company. Customer Service is none existent. They never answer the phone , I was cut off after 20 minutes with no answer. I have been waiting for a refund for 7 weeks . Disgusting, Disgusting, Disgusting.

Been working here for a year :) the job is very easy to do, but like all places, you need to master your skills to deal with middle management, not all are difficult though, also a few floor staff with lack of intelligence, but once you learn to ignore them, the place becomes your second house, like it did for me :)

Matalan is the worst company to work for and the people in human resources and pay roll should be ashamed of themselves. I have recently emailed head office about things and because I have recently left the company doesnt look like they can be bothered doing anything about my recent complaints. just seams like whatever you complain about head office dont seam to care. I cant give positive feed back over the 15 years that I have worked for the company but what I can say is the last 4 years and after I have left have been hell thanks to the way I have been treated by both the store that I worked at and head office.mso thanks for nothing

Im re-reviewing this as they deleted my previous review. Worst place i have ever worked. Messed me around for 3 weeks of unpaid interviews and training. When it finally came to my first day i was taken to the canteen with around 50 other employees. We got told they will have to let us all go as they dont have enough work for us. Complete and utter joke. They advised we stay on the dole until they contact us again. Problem was i had left a job to come here as i was promised 12 weeks work with a chance of full time employment afterwards if i proved myself which i was willing to do. Got a call a month earlier to start again but i would have to go back through the training process as i was laid off during the first day of employment and might forget how to use a pump truck etc. Even though i have a full FLT license and warehouse management experience. The managers are completely clueless i told them to get lost id rather work for a company that actually supplies work.

Has gone downhill. I see very little in there that I would want to buy now either for myself or others. Very difficult to find what you want, especially in the mens department as all the sizes are hung up at random and some items are on the wrong hangers. The whole place needs a complete reorganisation. You often have to wait a long time at the tills too as the staff are quite slow.

Its a big warehouse what more to say really. The main office and canteen next door are ok and there are probably plenty worse places to work than here.
