The bath bun is a nice and cosy tea house, with nice interiors and some seats outside. Sitting outside in the afternoon was the perfect way for us to enjoy the complete afternoon tea at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed with a nice view on the bath cathedral too.

Oh so quaint and charming. I enjoyed my time in this tearoom. It was like going back in time. Delicious cake and tea and friendly staff. Try and get a table upstairs.

This is a little hidden gem, set in a beautiful square. Serving tea and cake.Different types of cake, scones and bath buns as well as savoury treats.Nice tea choices too.

We stopped for tea at The Bath Bun today and had an accident where my baby daughter was splashed with scalding tea (our fault entirely). The lovely Vicky helped me run her leg under cold water and change her wet clothes. The quick thinking actions of the whole team meant no real damage was done - they looked after our baby and a worried mum and dad so well. Cannot recommend this kind group of people enough. And the buns were delicious!

Quaint and pleasant cafe situated in a courtyard off the famous Bath Abbey. Sitting outside the setting was both relaxed and scenic amongst the old Bath buildings.Despite the popularity and only two visible staff, we were seated and served promptly with a smile and a welcome by a lovely older lady in traditional costume.The tea and coffee were locally sourced and the Bath Buns were fresh; soft and not to sweet and an essential order for any visitor to this splendid city.Unfortunately the shop was closed on our visit but I very much look forward to a further visit in the not to distant future.

An excellent tea shop specialising in Dr Olivers famous Bath Bun and a fine selection of teas. Quick and efficient service. Near the Roman Baths in a quiet courtyard shaded by a huge old London Plane tree.

Fabulous place to stop and take in all the history of this area, whilst supping tea and eating a moist slice of carrot cake. Tables outside are great, in the shade of an awesome London Plane Tree, planted in 1793.Service is quick and very friendly.Totally recommend.

Went there with my partner during our tour of Bath. Such a cute very traditional British tea room. The scones were even better than any other tea rooms I have gone to.

From the outside this tea room looks like a quintessential old English tea room. But, inside it has no character, its cold and has no good vibes to it. Sadly, the herbal teas were served in horrible stainless steel teapots and my scone ( they dont do fruit ones ! ) was probably the worst I have ever had. And to top it all the blackcurrant jam didnt come in a little dish, but in a miniature jar. Not impressive at all. Service was ok but it just lacked any sort of ambience and joy.

Tasty Bath bun set for a fiver, worth coming in the morning when it’s less crowded! Friendly and helpful staffs always on service. Five star! With additional relaxing environment at off peak timing.

Nice place. Nice buns. But hello!? We’re in 2019, and this place is cash only. Does my bloody head in. Would have been a strong 4 stars but places that don’t take card are avoiding tax on profits in my opinion. Duly awarded 3 stars.

Really nice little venue. The food is good and we were served very quickly. The venue doesnt accept cards which in a city like bath and in the city centre is very odd. We had a High Tea which is a classic sandwich sliced in 4, 1 scone and 1 Bath bun + 1 tiny tea pot all for £18. Its clearly overpriced but in terms of quantity you will struggle to eat more. Quality is there so its a nice treat.

Nice, little place and. Wet wide choice of teas (bough all tea bag even where it says lose tea). Scone was more average and service was a bit slow.

Wanted to buy some bath buns to take home to family, was told that they didnt have any more left for takeaway, and yet they kept coming out for people eating in. Perplexing when theres a takeaway sign outside.

Long wait time, the manager was brusque and am sad to say very disrespectful to some of the younger staff working there. We were served what can only be described as over-priced sub-standard buns. Overall, not impressed with the experience...save your time and money and go to Sally Lunn’s across the road.

We had really lovely tea. The Bath bun itself wasn’t something extraordinary (taste-wise), but we quite enjoyed having our tea there. Stuff was really friendly and toilet was clean.

I really loved this place, it’s very cosy and the decoration is really nice. The service is great, the waiters are dressed up in line with the decoration of the place. The food was awesome, it’s totally worth it. The only thing is you can’t pay by card so before going there make sure you have enough cash.

A nice spot near the baths for a cuppa and a Bath Bun! Service was a little slow though, despite not being particularly busy.

Lovely quaint little cafe in the Abbey area of Bath. We went to try a Bath Bun and we werent disappointed (I never knew they had a sugar cube in). Pleasant setting and nice food and drink.

Popped in here for afternoon tea with my girlfriend.Its lucky I was carrying cash for once or they would have lost our business straight away.A Russian lady served us, she was lovely and polite, seemed rushed off her feet.The bath bun was like a plain bread bun with a bit of sugar and currents shoved on the top and a whole uncrumbled sugar cube baked in the middle of it?The tea was ok, it was from a standard tea bag.My girlfriends cream tea was quite nice, not the best for the price (and we live in Devon).The Bath Buns arent baked on the premesis any more, but bought in which is a pity.For a much more authentic dining experience with true tastes and history, cross the road to Sally Lunns!

Lovely tea room, good value, accommodate food allergies. L shaped building on 2 street corners. Pleasant female staff but ignore older man whos grumpy & turns people away.

The food here was nice but I felt their Covid standards let them down: Our table still had food on prom the previous customer and customers kept getting up and walking around without face masks.They do have track and trace and employ table service.

We tried the famous Bath Buns here, along with caramel pastry, a latte and a cappuccino; which were all delicious. Great service!

Amazing cream tea

Nice fresh scones, OK coffee, nice spot in the square under the big old oak tree.

After the waitress had walked past us several times we thought perhaps you have to go inside to order. In I went to be told it was table service and they would come out to take our order. To our bemusement the waitress then managed to clear and wipe down 2 other tables, never looking in our direction. Our table was not wiped down flowing the previous customer. We left. We went over to the park and had a cream tea for half the price having been served in minutes.

The young staff hardly have a clue what is going on. Do you chose cakes from the menu or do you see them?. They dont know !! Cakes came well before any drinks so the scones went cold. Cake portions are tiny. I dont mind paying but paying for something. Massive disappointment. Lets real tea rooms down

Such a delight to find on a wet and rainy afternoon in Bath. This charming little tea shoppe has a wonderful selection of teas. This was hands down the best scone with clotted cream and strawberry preserves I have had all year! The bath bun was okay though a bit disappointing, but the scone more than made up for it. Shout out to the waitress who was all alone juggling orders and never rested for a minute.

Central location was handy. I was disappointed with the bath bun itself. I was hoping for something a little different but the bun was a bit dull as a cake and despite its original recipe I would go for the toasted sandwich in future. They were generous and looked tasty.

Extremely disappointing visit to the Bath Bun, the eggs benedict sounded great on the menu however in reality were a huge disappointment.Imagine being given the task of finding the cheapest muffins, the thinnest processed ham, rubbery eggs cooked in a mould because it’s to inconvenient to properly poach them, then top with the cheapest hollandaise sauce you can find, you now have The Bath Buns eggs benedict. Maximum profit, minimum taste ! Wetherspoons do the same dish ten times better for the same price.I can only assume that this place operates as a tourist trap and doesn’t have to rely on repeat business.The only saving grace was they were on the new eat out to help out scheme.

A pleasant little tea room tucked away among Baths historic back streets close to the abbey. It dates from the Georgian era and has a lovely period feel with an old grandfather clock, decorative china on display and the original recipe for the bath bun on the wall. Really nice waitress who managed to serve me quickly despite being on her own and rushed off her feet. You can get sandwiches and light meals as well as afternoon teas. Had a lovely warm fresh scone with clotted cream and jam. Lots of different teas to choose from, settled for the house tea and it was good. A nice place to take a break from all the sightseeing!

I love these quaint olde world tea shops! They have a great variety of herbal teas, although I miss the loose leaf ones. It is nice to sit by the window and watch the World go by outside in Abbey Square. Polite staff. They keep running out of Bath buns lately though! Take cash with u as its cash only but that just adds to the quaintness of the tea room.

Had tea and scones here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sat at the table outside, which was a little serene spot, just a ways away from the crowds bursting the seams at the Sally Lunn Museum.

Lovely tea although my rating would go up a star if it was loose leaf.I had the baguette with Wiltshire ham and whole grain mustard. The baguette was nicely warmed and the serving of ham was very generous and delicious. One baguette will happily serve two people leaving room for cake or a bun - neither of which I had room for.This is a cash only cafe which is annoying and frankly outdated in these days of a cashless society.The service was friendly although could have been a little attentive at times.

Just as youd hope for a quaint little back alley tea room. Food was a good standard. I had a jacket potato that was well loaded and came with lots of salad. Girlfriend had cream tea - lovely warm scone with ample cream and jam. And all for under £20. Very happy all in all.

Wonderful food, amazing place and and really lovely staff! Suggested. And if you havent booked, get there a bit early to avoid queueing!

I found these buns better than the Sally Lynn buns. Unfortunately we had these first and thought wed buy some to take hone... and went to Sally Lynn. Will definitely come back when next in Bath

A very quaint and cosy tea room in the heart of bath. A great selection of teas and food at reasonable prices, with a lovely view into the square at some tables. Can get quite busy as there isnt a huge amount of space so plan ahead.

Went in for a late lunch. Very friendly and helpful staff. I had a ham and mustard baguette which was a good size with plenty of ham (could have had some more mustard but probably designed for tourists). The two proper fill teas were great plenty of good cream for the scone tasty cakes and the bath buns are good.

Friendly, fun and full of character. Good food. Reasonable prices

CASH ONLY! Worth noting as I never had cash on me. They didnt have any bath buns, unfortunately, due to not expecting the influx of customers that particular snowy weekend. But the scones were delicious, you get adorable little tea cups and the staff were friendly.

A lovely quaint tea house to visit while in historic Bath, amazing buns and delicious teas, the Dorst tea is the best...well worth a call in to rest your feet.

Place is pleasant, nice big windows, but buns - I didnt like it actually, some sort of dry and not delicious bakery. Although others may like probably)

An authentic English afternoon tea experience with tasty sandwiches, great cake, and a satisfying range of teas. The windows overlook the square outside with an enormous old chestnut(?) tree growing in the centre. It complements the history and atmosphere of Bath very well (not to mention offering the famous Bath bun).

Overall not impressed.Cons:Senior waitresss was extremely rude. At one point, some customers walked in, they were stood at the door waiting when one did a subtle little wave (emphasis on subtle) to get her attention. She responded with something like “don’t wave at me, we don’t wave here”. She was rude the entire time and it made me and my friends very uncomfortable.Scones were not that great.Pros:Savoury food that we had was pretty good and so was the tea.Would not recommend. There are tons of nice, afternoon tea options. Your time and money would be better spent elsewhere.

Great setting, tasty cream tea. Service was a downside: Cutlery and cups had tea stains all over. One girl was nice, but the other was making faces and rolling her eyes when I asked for another cup and tea spoon. I was a waitress once... thats unprofessional.
