Delicious food, beautifully plated. Service was welcoming and efficient but unrushed. Interesting flavour combinations - perhaps a little bold and contrasting for some tastes but personally I enjoyed the experimentation and thought it all worked together well. More of a fine dining experience than you might expect from the location and even the menu perhaps. Would go again for sure!Update: I did go a second time and just as good on the second visit!
Lovely staff. Great vibes. Tasty food. Youve got to try the risotto!
Right in the heart of Bath, this is a lovely restaurant. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. Food was fantastic accompanied by some good wine choices. For starters we had crab scotch egg and the pork belly and mac cheese. Both were lovely. For the main I had curried halibut which I really enjoyed, my partner had the Beef fillet which was great. Highly recommend Raphaels.
Waitresses seem not to understand plain English while trying to explain reason for being unsatisfied with the food. On top of that had been accused of eating 75% of entire dish, whereas in fact 25% had been consumed in order to try. To the waitress who told me that situation was ridiculous, your approach was ridiculous, would highly recommend reaching for English vocabulary/dictionary textbooks. Thanks
Visited for a quick lunch and had duck. Excellent quality and very nicely presented dish. The wine was good and they have a varied menu. I believe it was the manager who served me and very friendly. Would return for a 3 course on next visit.
I booked a table at Raphael for my birthday dinner and I was really excited but must say that our experience was a little disappointing. The highlight was the Raphael Burger was delicious and the quality of the ingredients was evident. However, the service was cold and unfriendly from the beginning. Nobody smiled or welcomed us on arrival and interaction from our waitress felt like the bare minimum. Our table was treated quite differently to those seated around us and Im not going to speculate as to why that was but it was enough to dampen our time spent there.
Lovely atmosphere, incredible food and great service! Couldn’t stop talking about the food after we left! The wine selections were well paired for the food and they even made us a custom cocktail! Highly recommend if you are looking for delicious food! Great spot for a date night too! Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing!we both had fillet steak cooked to perfection!would definitely recommend
We had lunch here Friday July 16th. Not only did we have a taste sensation that was beautifully presented the price was reasonable too. We enjoyed 4 starters ( we prefer small plates of different tings ) which included the Potato Salad, Scotch Egg, Pork Belly and Chicken wings…. And a glass of fizz. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive and give us continuous service with a smile.
I went here with my boyfriend on a city break to Bath. It was our first “proper” date after lockdown and the relaxation of rules and it was definitely worth the wait. Food, wine and service was all fantastic. Everything cooked to perfection and a real highlight of our trip.Thank you so much!
Amazing food, michelin star quality meal. Astounding wine list and super lovely and helpful staff. For me the top spot to eat in Bath. We had our wedding anniversary meal there and it was a delightful experience.
We celebrated my dads 80th birthday with dinner for our family. The service was brilliant, and the food was truly wonderful. Cooked and presented beautifully. A real highlight to a lovely weekend Thank you.!
Really enjoyed a meal here. Excellent atmosphere and service and the food was perfect. Ill be trying to find opportunity for a return visit!
Great ambience and service. We had the duck breast and the risotto followed by a shared Eton mess. Was such a lovely tasting experience.
The food, wine and service is wonderful. Would highly recommend this restaurant as a place to eat relax and enjoy.
Fate took us to Raphaels when the restaurant we had booked was forced to close due to Covid. In short; unassuming and understated but truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by Paolo and made to feel very welcome. Wine (extremely well priced) was recommended with knowledge and understanding and from there the meal was nothing short of absolutely fantastic. The pork belly starter was a highlight but in truth everything we ate was delicious and far superior than many London highly rated restaurants. We could not have has a nicer meal and enjoyed every second we spent here. 6 stars would be fairer....it is faultless. We will be back !!
Amazing food, amazing service. Loads of gluten free options.
Great ambiance. The food was delicious. The wine selection is excellent and good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful. The highlight of our trip to Bath.
Great place! Amazing burger! Laid back atmosphere with great food and a good wine selection. Fully recommend!
Had to pre-book 🤔 no wonder the food and service is first class.
We were very well looked after, with the staff going above and beyond for us. the wine and food was amazing from insightful recommendations and passion for Italian wine. We will now always visit Raphaels when in Bath.
Nice, but seriously over-priced brasserie. This is a very nice brasserie serving good French classics. The atmosphere is good and the staff are expert and friendly. It would be four starts BUT its priced as though its haute cuisine, which it definitely isnt. The presentation isnt great and food is 30% more than it it ought to be, so three. If Côte comes to town, this place will be (French) toast!
Super restaurant, service was really nice staff, very attentive.Nice and interesting menu, really enjoyed our evening .
Had Crab scotch egg and cod with cous cous cockles and caviar was amazing definitely worth the money and service was spot on definitely will be back
Beautiful food, excellent service.
Amazing food. Lovely staff.
Wonderful little Restaurant, the food and service are outstanding and we had an amazing evening. We will be back!
Great service, fantastic food and amazing wine choice.
Visited Rapheal for dinner with my family the weekend. Beautiful restaurant and experience from start to finish! We had a mixture of starters which were all cooked beautifully and so tasty! The portion sizes were perfect, I had the beef fillet which was cooked to perfection, the staff were polite and very knowledgeable with regards to the menu and the very large wine list. Loved the little touches with the wine like the glass being tailored to the wine chosen and the service was great all round, cant wait to visit again, highly recommended to familys, couples, friends, amazing place!
Modern wine bar, great food
Wonderful Christmas lunch. So nice to go to a play that serves real food. Enjoyed all three courses. Definitely recommend.
Wonderful food and great service.
Turned up on a Tuesday night without a booking and was quickly found a table for two.The staff were polite and friendly but not that quick at sorting out our drinks. We shared the Camembert for starters (it’s only small so can do one). It was nice but nothing special (president brand). However when we went on to mains we were thoroughly impressed. The guinea fowl and rabbit were both excellent and could easily have been consumed twice!I had the lime and passion fruit panna cotta dessert and my wife the ice cream. The panna cotta was good but I’m comparing to one I had in Bologna which was exceptional and this didn’t match that but none I’ve ever had has done!If you’re in Bath and fancy a good meal for a special occasion then I’d recommend this place without hesitation.
Great atmosphere with friendly and attentive waiting staff. Perhaps slightly short staffed as service was a little slow, however. Starter of pea soup with bacon fried croutons was delicious. Sirloin steak was over cooked for a rare and veg and chips side was a little mediocre for £25. Good but room for improvement.
Very good especially the fish of the day.
Nice non franchise and hence individual restaurant. French/Italian focus. Very good wine selection at reasonable prices. Food nicely prepared and presented. Staff well informed and helpful without being intrusive. Will go back.
Very good food & the staff are lovely
Staff was super friendly. The food is delicious. Would highly recommend. Best culinary experience in Bath so far!!
Limited menu, but this allowed everything to be cooked excellently. Service was unobtrusive, but always present. Wine a bit pricey, but great selection. Will be back.
Absolutely gorgeous food, if you are looking for a beautiful steak that melts in your mouth, look no further. Amazing food, lovely customer service and nice ambiance. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely love it here. Atmosphere food and drink choices are wonderful. Will definitely return when in Bath.
Lovely heart Sunday roast. Top quality meat, very generous portions, great service!
The fillet of beef was fantastic. Great selection of wines and the white choc cheesecake was lovely. Lovely and very attentive staff.
Excellent meal, attentive service and even had scotch egg on the menu!
Good experience, took a bit too long for food to arrive but overall a nice staff and quality food.
Incredible food, great service. Cannot recommend more fully. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Good food and service
Outstanding food and an excellent range of fine wines! Our favourite Bath restaurant.
Lovely little restaurant, great food, attentive and friendly staff. Worth a visit!
Fantastic food top notch worth a visit. Friendly welcoming staff .Great.
Amazing food and wine, great service. Definitely coming back.
Excellent food and service
I wish the head chef was single 😔 great food great atmosphere everything was perfect
Lovely meal to celebrate a special day. Food was outstanding and the service from all staff was faultless.
If we were to rate our experience out of 6 for: service, wine, starter, main, dessert and music/ambience, it would get a 2/6 based on the mains (lamp rump and beef fillet) and pigeon starter. The service oscillated between pushy hovering and non-existant. At least 3 members of staff were pecking around us from the second we were seated for a wine order. In the end, merely to make it stop, we allowed them to make a suggestion based on our description of preferred wines. What we purchased was nothing like we described and was a £43 bottle of tannins, acid and heartburn. We made a note of the wine merely to ensure that we never drink it again. After we had ordered the wine we then waited a fair while before anyone returned to take our food order. The same happened once we requested the bill, to the point where we joked it would be quicker to leave, wait for them to call us and pay over the phone. The ambience asthetically is very nice, musically - Im not one to eat my dinner to Tina Turner. We found the music choice questionable at best.As starters, my husband ordered scallops and I pigeon. The pigeon was lovely but the scallops were tasteless and under-seasoned. There were also only 2 scallops and I dont feel it unreasonable to generally expect 3.The one saving factor was their lamb main with celeriac dauphinoise which was delicious. My husbands beef fillet was a little under-seasoned but okay overall. The desserts, well, we shouldnt have bothered. When a menu states profiteroles, traditionally, you expect more than the 1 my husband was served with a scoop of ice cream. I ordered the poached pear and, again, expected a whole poached pear, not 3 slices. I also expected soft, homemade meringue not 3 tiny domes of what I assume were shop purchased hard meringues. We booked Raphaels as a celebratory, romantic final night in Bath meal due to their seemingly good reviews on Tripadvisor. Sadly, our experience did not match expectations and we shall not be returning.
Super service and great food. Fillet steak and lemon tart were awesome.
Outstanding cuisine. Best beef Ive ever had!
Incredible wine list, attentive staff and a scintillating burger!
Great food, great wine, nice staff.
Lovely meal and environment, totally recommend the fillet of beef. Yum.
Food was gorgeous (the duck was heavenly), service relaxed and not too stuffy but the music choice was questionable. 80s love ballads the whole night whilst dining on modern French cuisine left me and my SO giggling but charmed. Beautiful filling fare for rarefied tastes.
Overpriced for such underwhelming food. Service was mediocre and they got the bill wrong twice. Not somewhere Id return to, Im afraid.
Welcoming bistro style restaurant with friendly, efficient service. Attractive a la carte menu. Had beautifully cooked turbot and hake dishes from the specials board. Coped well with coeliac diet. Will definitely continue to dine here.
We arrived without reservation and the host immediately welcomed us to his last open table . The food was outstanding, the cocktails were the best we had in Bath. We were never rushed by the staff . We finished the evening with an excellent dessert, apple crumble and the owner gave us a complimentary dessert wine to try. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable . Would definitely recommend to anyone that appreciates fine food .
Great atmosphere, good selections of Meat Fish & Vegeterian Starters + Main course + Desserts. Even better selection of Wines + cocktails. Choose this place when you feel like treating yourself or someone else, as the quality is reflected in the prices
Me and my husband went and loved it! We had pea pie and trio of salmon for starter and duck and lamb for mains. Food and wine were absolutely fantastic, staff were friendly and attention, cosy and welcoming atmosphere.
Havent been here for a number of years, but will be back again soon
Outstanding lunch. Friendly service. Recommend if you love well cooked food.
For the price, the cooking was mediocre, and I was left hungry. The chicken and pistachio terrine lacked any meaningful flavor, the duck breast was so small I found myself wondering if the reason they had cut it up for me was because it was only half a duck breast. I was still hungry by dessert but Id lost interest in spending money by that point.
Fabulous food, great service. We will be back.
Wonderful restaurant serving super food at reasonable prices. The food here is always a highpoint of a visit to Bath. Good range of wines and staff are attentive without being intrusive. Ideally located close to the main shops and the theatre. I cannot recommend it too highly
Simple but tasty, fresh and delicious food. Portions are not massive but the quality is great. Nicely decorated ideal for a romantic quiet dinner. Reccomended!
Food is good, venue is nice, staff are pleasant and accommodating. Cant give it more than 3 stars as it is too expensive for the experience.
Absolutely loved this place .. had the best veal Ive ever tasted.. and Ive had a lot .. thoroughly recommend this place .. just superb
Amazing food! Had one of the best meals in a restaurant ever! Highly recommended to anyone.
All 3 course were excellent. Lovely cosy atmosphere.
This is our favourite restaurant in Bath, always great food, lovely atmosphere and the service is second to none.
Restaurant itself was nice, we had the lunch set menu, the starter was lovely but the main meal wasnt that great. You could tell the chicken had been heated up again as it was very dry! We probably wouldnt come back. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to eating here :(
A very pleasant experience - £24 for the two-course Christmas menu seemed reasonable and the service and ambience was very good. I would return.
Food was amazing, attentive service with all members of staff anticipating all your needs and requirements. Great atmosphere
Lovely food great service. Highly recommend
Holy cow. Ive had a lot of steaks in my life, and this was possibly one of the best fillets Ive ever had. It was bathed in an incredibly sweet sauce, and was wonderful. The other 3 with me also left nothing on their plates, with everyone complimenting everything. If youre in the area, *go*. Just trust me.
Excellent and tasty food - the duck main was absolutely delicious. Champagne cocktails list is worth a try too
Wonderful
Food is delicious, great atmosphere and lovely house red!
Great value pre-theatre menu ( u dont have to be going to the theatre but u will need to sit before 7pm). Good service even when busy. Fish of the day was excellently done, tiramisu and eton mess good.
Brilliant European food. I had a mussels and tiger prawn linguine to start which was full of flavour. For main I had the ballotine of rabbit which was delicious. Great selection of local cheeses too. Felt very comfortable and would recommend a visit.
