From the idols of the Sun God found in Barsur region, it can be easily guessed that Lord Shri Rama lived in this zone for about 10 years during his exile. And also kept the temple of their total god Lord Surya established. Today, statues of the Sun God are found at dozens of places in the surrounding areas including Barsoor.
