The new bridge has started for traffic coming from Bareilly to Badaun Higway.The barrage being constructed near the bridge on Ramganga river is also nearing completion. Water quality of the river has slightly improved but still not ideal for taking bath.

Dried up River belt gives any traveller a sad Experience!Government should preserve its basin by appropriate steps but in india you cant expect execution of proper action any soon.So Guys come forward and forward any petition to district magistrate or collector so that government can look over its condition..

Earlier there were two bridges, one railway bridge - common for broad n meter gauge, now its for broad gauge only. Other bridge was for motor vehicles. It is under maintenance at present, otherwise now its two lane one way bridge. An other bridge is newly constructed and is in use. It is wider than the old bridge. Here the name also exist for the Railway Station just on the bank of The Holy River Ramganga. The Ghats at both banks of The Holy River Ramganga are Not properly maintained. There is a lot of Marsh (दल-दल) towards upper side of the river but no cautious signages are there. A Dam is being prepared just downside of the bridges. I hope it will be developed as a better picnic spot soon. 🙂

Ramganga West River originates from Doodhatoli ranges in the district of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand state of India. The Ramganga River flows to south east from Kumaun Himalaya. It is a tributary of the river Ganges, originates from the high altitude zone of Namik Glacier(3600 m). Ramganga flows by the Corbett National Park near Ramnagar of Nainital district from where it descends upon the plains. Bijnor, Moradabad, Bareilly, Badaun, Shahjahanpur and Hardoi cities of Uttar Pradesh are situated on its banks. The Ramganga Dam crosses the river at Kalagarh (Partially in Bijnor District & Pauri Garhwal District) for irrigation and hydroelectric generation. An annual festival of Ganga Dassahra is organised on its banks annually during the months of September and October at Chaubari village near Bareilly. It has a drainage basin of 30,641 km2. I hate the way its always jammed with cars n trucks.. transport auth shud see into it to make it clear so that people shud cruise uninterrupted through the way.. also the pots n holes should be filled as soon the road gets them..

I went there for visarjan. While coming from Bareilly side there are some setups and boats u can find for snan before the bridge starts.Do not expect any developed infra as there are some construction work is going on another bridge.

River Ramganga is Lifeline of Bareilly and Moradabad cities. Near this Bridge RamGanga crosses and moves towards its next destination Shahjahanpur ki Katri. During Snan and Mela days this becomes a very crowdy place . RamGanga Railway station is exactly adjacent to this. Trains to Bareilly, Kasganj, Badaun, Chandausi, Aonla can be catch here. In past the Bridge had Broad gauge and Meter Gauge both type rail lines , now converted to BG only. One Dam is under construction since last few years. Earlier this 110+ Years bridge was declared expiry dated in 2005 , but provided concrete jacketing around each pillars to make it stronger back.
