A busy night with only one outdoor table available when we arrived and the same night as the Chiefs v Crusaders final. My wife and I were looking for a meal, a drink and a place to watch the rugby and this fit the bill. I have been here several times over the years and will continue coming back - food and drink prices are about average, and the food was good.

Best place to watch the game in the viaduct and they dont sting you for a beer think my sol was 9 bucks food is perfect for the venue all types welcome

A pulsating atmosphere when major sporting events are happening. Great staff, very friendly surroundings and decent priced drinks and food. The bar manager was very helpful and accommodating when I arranged an event there last year and its a place I always nip into when Im in the CBD.

Dont bother trying to watch big games here unless you turn up 1 hour in advance. They purposefully let people in slowly so people have time to buy drinks. Go there at 7am for champions league and only got in at halftime. There was still LOTS of space inside the bar.

Watched the first game of the NBA finals here. Affordable drinks and big screens to watch on. My pot of mussels and wedges were pretty good. Happy with the service, food and drink.

We had a great meal with friends, good value and clean ,enjoyed a few drinks and watched sports on the television.we had the share platter seafood and a meat platter,, it was yum.it is in the viaduct precinct,hidden in the corner, but great. I highly recommended this place.

Its the kind of place where you would like to hang out with your boys/girls to watch sports on the television and with beer jugs on the side. I went there with my mom to have dinner around 5:30ish. We were made to wait for longer with the menu provided to our table until I went to the counter to know if we were ever going to be served. That is when the waitress said that we need to place the order at the counter and they dont take the orders at the customer table. That was bit of a disappointment because its their duty to let the customers know how they operate. Their peri-peri chicken was good and the steak was average. But the meal was abundant. You will be left with no space in the tummy. A few photos are attached underneath.

Me and my friends been at this place last weekend. The steak was on top and was perfectly cooked. We were really pleased with all the meals we had there. I would highly recommend everyone to visit at this place once if they wanna have something best to eat 🙂

This place is awesome the food is fabulous and the selection of beers is very nice I found it was a great place to sit and watch the different sporting events on the televisions and the staff took care of you like you were first rate. A nice outdoor area also and the bathrooms were clean. Dont be afraid to ask the bartenders for some advice on their beers

Sirloin steak extremely salty. Feeling intake one year amount of sodium. I never had had the salty stuff like that. No Wi-Fi connected.Chicken burger and Seafood platter fine but the steak is too bad. However, if you are salty fans, I’ll high recommend you order the sirloin steak.Anyhow, rated it disappointed.

We came as a couple looking to enjoy an evening in a sports bar following the Americas Cup. We found The Fox practically empty which seemed strange for a Viaduct restaurant on a Saturday evening but the menu appeared tempting so we took a leap of faith.We ordered two tasty-sounding Philly Steak Sandwiches which promised grilled steak, capsicum, caramelized onion, salsa gravy, and melted cheese. Delectable!They arrived surprisingly quickly and what we saw was ... disappointing? Horrifying? You decide.The capsicum was simply not present, the salsa gravy was little more than thickened tomato sauce, the melted cheese was half a slice of processed chesedale swiss slapped brazenly against the ciabatta. And the caramelized onion? Between the two of us we managed to find one inch-long shred!The shreds of steak were the only redeeming feature of the entire sandwich, all 50 grams of it!Tasteless, inconsistent, and arguably outright false advertising. Avoid at all costs!The atmosphere, despite lacking patronage, seemed welcoming and the facilities are all there for your typical sports bar. If youre looking for a meal however... lets just say theres plenty of other restaurants along the Viaduct more deserving of your patronage.In all my years Ive never once had an urge to write a review beyond simply rating the good ones. Congrats Fox, you wasted my money and even inspired me to waste my time on this fun little rant. Thanks!

Delicious food for groups or individuals and amazing atmosphere plus the staff are some of the best I have encountered in Auckland. And to top it all off it is the home of UFC in Aucklands CBD. Sold!

Everyone that works here is an absolute gem, was in a spot of trouble last night, they helped me out and ordered a taxi. All the staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. A good bunch of people :)

We came here Sunday morning for a game of two best rugby teams and this place was seriously understaffed. I am talking 3 lines of people waiting on the bar to get served. We had a box reserved and ordered food when there was only 5 people in the bar and an hour later we had no food and our order was lost so we had to reorder. Lesson to learn for the management. You cant make good money if you dont have enough staff. With one extra person at the bar they would probably 1,5x they revenue not to mention the shocking customer service. We wont be repeating this experience.

We hired the back function room for a birthday celebration. We had the best time and the host and his staff were the best! Thank you so much, everyone LOVED the food and the DJ was awesome! Venue and service was perfect, couldnt of been any better. Thank you Shanky! :)

This has got to be the most over priced food we have ever eaten. It was $25 for a steak meal the pieces of steak were a little smaller than my hand and the Veges beans carrots and peas, were frozen veges with a bit of sauce added. It cost us $64 for a meal and a drink each and we both left feeling unsatisfied. I should have gone to the supermarket and bought steak and made a meal in our hotel room, would have been cheaper and we would have felt like we ate

I like the bar and the vibe but I dont appreciate some of the bouncers attitudes sometimes

Nice staff. Nice venue. Music a little too loud. They used to play old classic rock here but have changed to modern pop. Being a Sports Bar they should revert back to Classic Rock. Food was nice and pretty quick to come out. I ordered Pizza and Fries. It was yum as.

Been coming here on and off for years. The staff are fantastic, friendly and the booze is not too expensive, However, the food isnt great. I think youd be ok if you ordered fries or weges but anything more than that is a challenge for the chef that doesnt end well. Either save up a bit more to eat somewhere else or just stick to weges and fries.

Love Foxs! Great location! Right in the heart of viaduct. Good food menu. Expect great atmosphere on sporting days, service does take a significant hit during that time though. Better arrangements could be made for such events (more seats, more staff?) But its an unmatched sports bar experience nonetheless.

After much debate between my friend and I, The Fox won over Giraffe due to the noticeable change in popularity we had to see what the fuss was about and was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing, a definite improvement on a visit earlier in the year. Atmosphere spot on. Service still a bit slow but all in all a great experience. Can definitely see why they are rivalling some of the more well known spots in the Viaduct of late.

The place was good and staff very friendly

Came in a bit late at night for one drink with a friend, all I had that entire night was one beer an hour before coming here. The bartender was friendly and we looked at the menu for one minute and then another staff member/security guard comes up. There mustve been some miscommunication as I have hearing loss after all because he mistook me as too intoxicated and only allowed me to have water.

Service was good, however, the food was forgettable in my mind. We got both a meat sampler and a sea food sampler.On the meat sampler, chicken was borderline cold with almost what appeared to be under cooked portions. Ribs unfortunately can hardly be called ribs, but more so bones with sauce.Seafood platter was the typical fried seafood dish, but what can you expect. It’s bar atmosphere with bar food, just don’t get your hopes up with the fancy names. On a drunken night, you’d probably love this place.

I ordered the Customhouse Sirloin, after reading the description I said to the person with me “I hope the vegetables aren’t from a Watties frozen packet”Well what do ya know? I was right.For a $25 meal I would’ve expected a bit of thought into it not something I could’ve gone home for my Mum to cook. I left my boiled mixed veggies on my plate.My friend had the Philly Cheese Stake Sandwich. Processed cheese from a wrapper that hadn’t melted and that was due to the steak being stone cold. Only good thing was they took that off the bill.Could I suggest you take a look at a few other bars with similar price and check out how they execute and deliver their food.

Was there on a Friday night. Very spacious, a bit lacking in people, though there were 18 of us so that suited. Platters were filling.

Arrived at 9:30 at night where most places at the harbor will only make snack food. The Fox was great and had the full menu ready and available. I know I only ordered the classics, but my got was that one of the best burgers Id ever had. Also had their delicious garlic and cheese pizza. That pizza was something else man. Wash it all down with a pint of Fox IPA and I was a happy man. Will happily return.

They are very nice here, and its a great (but very crowded) place to watch a big game. Prices are almost double some others in the area though.

What a disappointment.. Order the Korean Pork Ribs x3.. Unfortunately they tasted like were pulled directly out of the freezer and cooked.. Very tough and chewy too eat.. Not impressed at all..We, along with a few other patrons asked too have the loud music turned down so that we could watch the Footy Game.. Unfortunately this was refused.. The employee became unreasonable and refused..A fairly disappointing night out altogether.. We would have enjoyed the meal if it was cooked properly and too watch the game..I certainly would not like anyone too go through this.. It was our first time at this venue, and fortunately for our patronage we will not be returning..

Waited an hour for Breakfast on a Saturday Morning. Yes it was busy and the staff where doing what they could but some warning of the wait time would have been nice. Just took our money and left us waiting.On the plus side the food was nice. But then again we were so hungry anything would have tasted good.

The best place in Auckland CBD and possibly the most friendly staff I have ever seen.Such amazing place is perfect for sports and event lovers.A chilled out weekend get away is one of the best thing I have experienced here.

I searched online for a place to watch American football in Auckland and The Fox popped up first. The Fox is in a great location by the water with seating outside and comfy seating inside. Ton of tvs and the staff are willing to change them to accommodate the sport/event you are looking for at the time. Ordered one of the daily specials and off the bar snacks menu. Food was served quickly with good portion sizes and flavorful. The daily special was an open face steak sandwich with mushroom gravy and French fries for $15 NZD. It was delicious. Great beer and cocktail selection too. This place is great for big groups, special occasions or just solo. Enjoy!

I just stopped in for a beer on a Saturday afternoon so not much was happening. The little casino area was busy just as I could imagine the whole bar would be during a match.

5 stars lost at pool while drunk 10/10 would do it again.

The Fox Sporting Bar offers great food and service. The venue is inviting and has a good ambience.Food and drinks are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this venue.

Amazing service, great food - Shanky (one of the owners) was working with the staff due to high number of people at Foxes. Great guy, passionate and honest. A lot of tourist go there and expect the same service at home. Which is based on tips payments - but they wont tip and expect a waiter or service to come to them. Sorry this isnt America lol staff are friendly dont be afraid to ask for assistance on arrival. I will definitely go return, the food was amazing

We were a party of eight. Only one person enjoyed their meal. The rest of us thought the meal was the worst we’d had in a while. Very disappointing.

On 30th of December we went for dinner. The place wasnt busy yet we waited almost an hour for our 3 parmas. The chicken and chips were terribly over cooked, if it wasnt for the cheap tomato paste it was drowning in it would have been totally tastless. Undoubtedly the worst pub meal I have ever had... Do yourself a favour and avoid this venue.

Its in the Viaduct but not of it. Feels more like the quiet hotel restaurant on the lake but nestled on the doorstep of Friday night madness. Staff are friendly and not totally dumb at the same time. Compare that to how many places you know. Yes, it has a pool table too.

If you want to watch an All Blacks game with screens all around and people standing shoulder to shoulder, then for all of those expectations, the Fox will have you covered. Very basic beer menu but it is a sports bar. I cant really tell how much I like interacting with the bar staff because even 2 hours before the game when it was half empty, they still seemed to be a bit standoffish; some of them at least. Theyre signage around the place was pretty funny though.

Good bar for watching sports usually decent crowds for big games. Food is ok but not as good as used to be in my opinion. Worth a visit if wanting to watch a game and have a few drinks.

Went there as a group for brunch. After an hour, we were still waiting for our food. We had asked a few times how long it would be, and kept being told it was cooking. Just as we had had enough and about to demand our money back and leave, our food came out. It was cold when it arrived, however I was starving by then, so ate it. The flavour was there. Just a shame that it was so cold and I was to hungry to enjoy it after over an hours wait. Very disappointing

Whats not to like at a harbourside pub that sells great food and drink and shows sports all day? Having come from England the best bit for me were the signed Spurs shirt and the room which the note on the door said Spurs fans only. Brilliant.

Wanting a good meal, a bit of sport, a few drinks in the Viaduct then heres perfect. An ideal place to meet, either to stay or pre mix before moving on. Good wines, even the house types, great seafood platter for two and other reliable choices. A great spot in the Viaduct
