Best place for Diploma and iti. This is a government organization at Dhadka Road in Asansol. The students from different parts of our country join this organization specially from West Bengal. It is well equipped with all the necessary educational tools.

Its a good place to learn technical but surrounding boundries are not up to mark.

Its a nice place for morning and evening walk. Plus a huge play ground for kinds and youngstars. It hosts one of the oldest polytechnics in west bengal. One of the best streams out here is diploma(mining)

Education system is good. Talking about Infrastructure, which is very Bad. Campus and infrastructures are not maintained.Lecturers are friendly to students. Subjects taught by them are well explained.Regularity of students are poor. Attendance r very poor to some students.Lab equipments available are somewhat good. But some of the equipments are very poor in condition.Work shop is available. It is regularly used. Even though some of the equipments are left to decay. Not proper care is given.This college is known for its good campusing.

This college established on 1950 and its the first enginnering college asansol has,and also the first college of westbengal, who offered Mining Stream in later fiftees.this polytechnic affiliated by West Bengal State Council of Technical Education(W.B.S.C.T.E) and recognised by All India Council for Technical Education(A.I.C.T.E),before 2013 this college offers Diploma in Mining,Mining Serveying,Metallurgy,Electrical,and Mechanical Streams,on 2013 they add Civil Engineering to their stream.

It was a great college campus once upon a time. The hopeless management has destroy it completely. It became the largest cattle field in railpar area. Local cattle owners feel this huge land as their own property and damaging the campus buildings, roads and environment regularly with proud and unfortunately no one to stop them even the colleges own securities are very much less bother to stop this. Not only the cattle owners, some youngsters from the local areas feel polytechnic as their ancestral property and feels very glad to destroy the college buildings , breaking tree branches , using abusing language openly in public, tounting females, using this place for having drugs and alcohol on a regular basis and no one to stop them. State government should take some strong steps to prevent polytechnic from these unsocial activities.

The main plus point of ASANSOL Polytechnic is Metallurgy. Others Polytechnic colleges in this belt do not offer for Diploma in Metallurgycal Engineering .
