The gate was constructed in 2020 in due celebration of completion of 100 years of Aligarh Muslim University (however the university was there even before 100 years but got the tag of University in 1920)A gate like that was very necessary since a long time because after the Bab e Syed it was also an important entrance gate to the University and channel a large trafficThis gate has increased the beauty of the University.

This is the new guardian of the university from either side. It stands directly opposite to Bab e syed the entrance gate of AMU. Centenary gate was constructed by the same contractor as of the old one. However its much taller than that and celebrates the 100 glorious years of the Aligarh Muslim University.

In two days, AMU will reach a landmark that only a few universities in India have achieved by completing 100 years of existence.“President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind is likely to grace the centenary celebrations via video link. The date of the online event to be broadcast live on social media platforms may be announced soon,” confirmed AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor.
