I see why this place is rated so well. Excellent margaritas that finally arent frozen. Amazing share platters. Heavily stacked tacos of a brilliant range. Well priced. Top service. Fun atmosphere in a beautiful location. Would 100%come back in a group of 4+ amigos to be fed anyway! Zero complaints ♡

I wanted to like this place but the burrito was so average. The biggest disappointment was the lack of flavour in everything. Mexican is full or richness, heat and spice.This was almost the exact opposite, just salty and mushy.Chargrilled chicken has almost no seasoning or char. Zero salsa taste. Almost no garlic in the guacamole, tinned beans. Not even a sauce was added to try and save the taste. The size was generous but honestly the buck stops there. If you’re hung over I’d say do it but if you’re looking for taste I’d say don’t bother.

🌮 Taco and Totopos Box - Prawn, Fish, Pulled Pork, Pork Belly, ChickenI recently saw Village Cantina’s advertised deal of $55 for 10x tacos and totopos and absolutely could not resist - I had to get it that night! We were blown away by the value, all of the tacos were generously sized and filled. That was also however a slight downfall, some just had TOO much filling. It would be best shared between 3-4 people. The totopos and dips were great, as were the prawn tacos which had a nice barbecued char on them. The rest sadly lacked seasoning, flavour and all of the meats were dry. My friend ordered the cauliflower tacos and raves about how good they were, so I suggest giving them a try. Also not pictured were the Jalepeno Poppers, which were delicious and really packed some heat🔥Even though there were some negatives to this feast, I will definitely give them the benefit of the doubt being that it was a delivery, the quality may have been affected and not travelled well. Will try again once dine-in is back!

Village CantinaDinner 11/04/2021Great atmosphere and great food.Had a lovely night here the staff were pretty friendly considering our table of 7 were incredibly loud.Most of the food was great but the corn (Elote) was incredible will definitely go back just for that dish!It was a cold night & with the doors open it was absolutely freezing in their but I was also a little underprepared for the cold night.I had the calamari salad which was also great but the jalapeño poppers were a bit of a let down not being a filled half jalapeños but rather a combined mixture crumbed and deep fried, just not what I was expecting!Overall a great place and love Yarraville!Food - 8/10Staff - 9/10Environment - 9/10Location - 10/10Overall Combined - 9/10

Ive had food here a few times and it never disappoints! Im vegetarian and there are so many great vegan / vegetarian options. So obsessed with the food and the customer service was great, the people were friendly and approachable.

Mexican food with a master chef flare... treat your taste buds, you and your taste buds wont be disappointed. The atmosphere was fun and the delicious margaritas added to the great vibe! Friendly and cheerful staff completed our night out...it was a nice way to end our last night before entering into anotherlock down :( but the good news is...we will be back once restrictions are over :)

If you like spicy food, then you should try their home brand hot sauce (they have mild, medium and hot). The hot hot sauce is amazing

An excellent spot to get some delicious Mexican cuisine.Had a burrito bowl with the choice of pulled pork. The ingredients are tastily fresh, the fish was well balanced and the pulled pork serving was generous.The staff were very friendly and accommodating to my table’s needs (which was quite difficult) in terms of dietary requirements.Will definitely be returning for meals in the future.

Ordered burritos, fries and wings….. and unfortunately was the most bland food I have ever taste. Literally tasted of nothing. Fries were stale and inedible. Won’t be coming back.

We have been enjoying the Village Cantina for years now. There was a short period after the change of Management a few years ago but they seem to have nailed the quality of their food. The Burritos are spectacular.

Had to stop into Yarraville and went for a walk for some food at the local shops. Came across a small Mexican place called Village Cantina... My partner and I ordered the Beef Nachos and a jug of Pomegranate Margarita which was amazing! The nachos were yummy and the service was great.

This places is UNBELIEVABLE, the staff was very kind with us all the time.We ordered a shared platter as entry and was formidable, the guacamole was really good and the calamari very yummy.Then we ordered some tacos ( fish, beef and Carnitas) and some beef nachos ( extremely big) all of them very tasty. But the best thing of this marvelous are the margaritas. Give a tip to the bartender cause he puts his heart on every single beverage.PS: order their beer WITH LEMON. you gonna have a mix of flavours in your tongue that you cant explain to others.I definitely will come back in the near future.Thanks for everything villa cantina team.

Village Cantina does the best Jalapeno Poppers around and the rest of their menu is just as tasty. Really well priced, great service and they always have a nightly special on the chalkboard outside that makes you stop in the street...then decide to grab a meal with a friend.

Food was delicious, but customer service was shocking our order was forgotten and we still paid full price for the meal. Never coming back again, not waiting 45 mins for food let alone our drinks to come out! Need to lift your game guys really...

When this baby is enjoying her meal at Village Cantina this much, you know the food is delicious!! Great place, lovely owners running it and exceptionally great Mexican food! Was my dads first Mexican restaurant meal and he couldnt say enough good things about it he was especially a fan of the pineapple chipotle and my Palermo was amazing. The food presentation is great and servings are so generous and though Im not usually a fan of nachos, here I will eat a whole bowl to myself ! And then theres the churros... drool worthy.Best Ive had.Inside the artwork is great and makes for awesome instaposts ! Highly recommend heading here and enjoying a feast and then taking a wander around Yarraville whilst you chat about the great food youve just eaten 😋

Great food, the poppers were cheesy and spicy, the burrito was tasty and filling especially with a bit of the habanero sauce they had there. The traditional margaritas were the best Ive had in Melbourne. The decor in this place is great, I especially like the saloon doors out the back.Best Mexican joint in the western suburbs? Have been to Village Cantina many times and cannot fault it. The food is always delicious, well priced and arrives promptly. An ideal spot for a quick bite before heading to the movies. The service is wonderful, attentive but not intrusive. The cocktails are amazing and the espresso martini is a stand out. Fantastic spot in the village.

First time ordering and I was blown away! I was getting sick of guzman and decided to try mexican somewhere else. I ordered through DoorDash and the food was delivered promptly and was hot and fresh.I got the chips and burrito (as a little friday night treat) and was really pleased/impressed with the flavour of the food. The burrito was so hearty and the perfect amount of flavour with simple yet elevated ingredients.The chips were nicely seasoned and crunchy.I youre a fan of good, delicious, hearty mexican food definitely give this place a shot!

We have been really enjoying the fast Mexican food from Village Cantina. A small and easy to navigate menu gives enough options to keep it interesting, tacos, burritos, nachos, enchiladas, you name it.The food is really well priced and the staff is very friendly. Really bad experience and not worth the time and money. Waited 90 minutes in total for the food to come out and didn’t receive any explanation nor apology from the staff. The food was below average as it was bland (we got different taco flavours and it was all bland) and didn’t taste freshly cooked. Overall an unpleasant dining experience.

The food is delicious and fresh! The staff are genuinely friendly and we loved the hot sauce so much that they gave us a free sample. Happy to cater to food preferences - ie. gluten free etc. Definitely recommend and will be back soon!

We had dinner tonight to celebrate my sisters bday and it was really good. Service was great, the food delicious, great value (portion size vs price) and nice margaritas! Highly recommended and will definitely come back.

Great, fresh food and a lot of options for vegetarians/vegans. I liked that the ingredients were a little different to what you would normally see in chain Mexican places. The BBQ tofu taco was excellent! Staff were very friendly and prices were reasonable given the quality of the food.

Had an amazing first experience here. Ordered the tofu burrito and was asked if I was vegetarian/vegan (I am not) which was lovely that they cared enough to ensure that my dietary needs were catered to.The servings were amazing, great value for money and the cocktails are just as great. I definitely look forward to coming back and trying more.

Delicious burritos every week, the two for $20 on a Thursday is our household ritual.

We ordered dinner through Uber Eats from Village Cantina and unfortunately no Uber driver came to pick the food up. Village Cantina very kindly made our order for us again and we received BOTH lots of food from them upon delivery! Very kind of them. I do hope Uber reimburses you for this. Great food and excellent customer service from Village!

We are here at least weekly to fortnight.Food is great for vegetarian, vegan and carnivores. Never bored of the menu selection as there’s so much to choose from and reasonably priced.Do yourself a favour and come and try!

Quick and very friendly service even thru dinner rush, tasty food, and proper Mexican beer we havent found since Mexico. The kitchen staff all looked to be Hispanic, which helps to explain the authentic, appealing flavours - that team knows what theyre about. Shame we dont live nearby, or wed definitely be back regularly.

Service was good and fast. Wine selection good, well priced. Food awful. pulled pork was just dried out and woody. Ditto chicken. Dried out and tough lettuce didnt add to the experience. Can do much better.

Very disappointed with this restaurant. Food was tasteless, with no flavour. I had the Lamb Ribs and Cutlets, and they were just cooked in a pan, very boring. As well, there was 50% fat on the meat. I couldn’t eat it. The rice was ordinary. In short, everything is very bland. Not recommended. Staff friendly, but I went there for the food. Taco Bill, is by far the best option.

I took my family for a 72 km return trip to try this restaurant and we were all enjoyed it. The food was good and staff were efficient. I have been to many Mexican restaurants in Melbourne and this is the most athentic. We certainly will return.
