Great food, but when we checked to see if the service charge went to the staff the owner was very cagey. If the owner changed the service charge policy and tips went to the staff this would have 5 star review. I cannot support businesses that take advantage of their employees, restaurant servers are generally underpaid and their tips make a big difference to their income.

Delivery took 3 hours, food was cold and when I contacted Raj Bari they refused a refund…. Definitely would not order from them again

Regardless of the food the service on our evening here was dreadful.We were given seats next to the door where all the collections happen. Its cold.Asked when we arrived for a better seat within the restaurant but request was declined. And yet there were many tables left empty all throughout our visit. That was annoying.Poppadoms served after 10mins but no other food. How long should one wait? 1hr 58 mins it took! And then all together, starters and mains!Food, some was ok some was excellent. Pity about the service.

Just enjoyed another takeaway! Poppodums light and crispy, vegetable Dhansak the best Indian meal I can find. The chicken curries we also ordered were just brilliant. Always an excellent meal.Driver apologised for being late - only 10 minutes, no problem. Thank you.

My best experience of an Indian restaurant... we had Hussain and Meghana as our waiter/waitress... you could not get better. So attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you for everything.

I’ve enjoyed many curries in the Raj Bari over the years. It’s a Yarm institution really and has always been the leading curry restaurant whilst others have come and gone. Nice service and a good menu to choose from. No complaints and have always felt welcome there. Very happy to recommend the Raj Bari if you’re looking for a curry in Yarm.

So we have had many mead from Raj Bari, but tonight was dreadful.Firstly the call to them was hard work. We simply wanted basic things from the menu but the person who took the call struggled with the order and was adding items we had not asked for.Eventually we thought we had the order right and asked for us to collect.Once collected and home, we were presented with incorrect food and to be honest it was tasteless.Chicken tikka off the bone was on the bone... a dreadful experience. Dry tasteless chicken.A Madras sauce tasted like gravy with no spice.Onion Baji’s were like rocks.Just a dreadful experience and we have now decided that they clearly don’t want our business any more, therefore we won’t give it to them.Obviously just our experience tonight. No doubt many had a good meal tonight and we have before.But you can only judge a place based on your last experience and therefore it’s time to cut ties.In a time where take out is the new norm, you have to try harder.

Not bad but not the best for what I like. Very nice pleasant staff but get rather close considering the current situation and social distancing is not very well adhered to.

My favorite Indian in Teeside really good authentic curry house. Brilliant fish dishes I would recommend the goan fish curry or whole curried sea bass but everything Ive had here is good. A bit dated inside but I think that just adds to the atmosphere. Vegan and gluten free friendly as well.

My meal was very good but 3 lads had the same choice - lamb railway special and it was very poor and bland. Not happy lads. Service was very good as usual.

Service was shocking. Half the staff were grumpy. The young lady behind the bar was great though.Took over 45 minutes before we got a drink delivered to the table and over an hour before food started to arrive, after waiting an hour for our order to be taken. Eating at 10 pm when wed booked for 8pm is a bit of a drag.Starter was delivered on a sizzling platter, but half of it was cold, and the dining experience from there carried on in that trend with some food piping hot and other dishes like warm.Certainly wont be going there again.

No problems at all, visited at 7:30 on a Tuesday evening. Food and service was excellent. Nan bread was spot on, always a good indicator of a restaurant.

The first time we ate in and wasnt impressed. But later on we order takeaways it has never been disappointed. We since order takeaways at least 1 - 2 times a month and we never find any better Indians than Raj Bari.

Visited on a Saturday evening. Service was a little slow but food was good. My medium spiced curry was very mild so bear in mind when ordering

As per my previous post I have eaten here on a number of weekly occasions this year and as always the food was tastey & piping hot. Lamb balti tonight, absolutely delicious. Friendly staff & the prices very reasonable for a high street. I will definitely be calling back.

We have visited Raj Bari as a family a few times and I have enjoyed it, the staff are friendly and attentive and the food is well prepared.The restaurant inside is deceptively larger than it appears and there is plenty of room for families being seated away from couples which is really excellent and they seem to actually have this as a procedure when being seated as each time we go were along side other families leaving the couples in peace.The only detraction is that owing to some of the seating being out of eye catching distance of the bar where the staff congregate it can be a bit difficult to get another round of drinks or get a waiter without going to the bar on occasion however they were fairly attentive throughout our meal.Overall its a nice place to have a reasonable cost meal on the high street. Wouldnt hesistate to go back.

Ordered the chicken passanda. The chicken was dry and tough, clearly not marinated. Would rather get a takeout at the Bengal Lancer in future.

The food is great but the interior could use a spruce up. The biggest drawback is that half the guests are facing a dull wall. More mirrors to open the place up would be great.
