I love this place, its almost a hidden gem within the city, its quiet, you can loose yourself for hours looking at the art and the architecture of this wonderful building.

Free entry (with optional donation point)Ive been visiting this art gallery for over 18 years.It has a mix of traditional, modern to current exhibitions (that change often), also a whole space dedicated to childrens interactive creativity.They have a cafe & toiletsThey also have a lift to get to the different floors.One of my favorite small rooms was exhibiting local artists work small and large for sale.

Lovely day today at Wolverhampton art gallery great for Lego fans as they have got a special exhibition on upstairs and activities at a small cost Lego exhibition on until early September called Fantasy Kingdom good for younger children and older kids alike! Ticket cost around £15 for 2 adults 2 children activity packs £2.00 each for younger children which have colouring, cutting and sticking activities it comes with a handy bag! To build a small Lego chest is extra cost for £4 each worth it for a nice treat, lovely helpful staff around building with a very reasonable cafe with sausage rolls samosa, baked potatoes and sandwiches all freshly made, they will even warm sausage rolls up if asked, hope this helps!

Excellent place to visit. They have some of the areas open now but still not fully functional like pre covid.

The arts are excellently well put together. The message on the arts are knowledgeable and extremely very educational with instructions to discover insight knowledge of artists.It was great and fascinating experience outing with the children.

An excellent little gallery. Really great to bring beautiful art to the people free of charge. Very pleasant cafe with a mezzanine level in the roof where you can tuck yourself away for a few hours with reasonably priced food and free WiFi.

We went to see bricklive. The sculptures themselves were brilliant craftsmanship however the gallery was a bit of a disappointment, not too dissimilar to a few years ago when we visited last. The sculptures were poorly displayed, no attention paid to the atmosphere of the rooms; sculptures almost just plonked in rooms. Unhelpful and not very passionate staff whom I think just made matters more confusing. Very muddled layout too. A creative space which has got so much more potential.

This gallery illustrates best practice in a small collection. It is well-presented throughout and well worth a detour to visit, or indeed to be made a destination by those interested in painting. I would have made the journey to see the Gainsborough alone, but there is much else of interest. The Curators, and all who support this collection, are to be congratulated on their work. Entrance, admirably, is free. The chargeable wildlife photography exhibition is stunning so fork out, its worth it!

The gallery is not big but it was about the only place that attracted me and my husband in the town. Ive enjoyed the ground floor pictures more than the ones on the top. The staff is lovely. Jorden and classical art both are present in the gallery. We spent about 45 minutes there and enjoyed it.

Great gallery right in the centre of the city. Always have something interesting going on. Very friendly. Canteen is good too. You can tell by the menu pricing structure that the place is run by the council. :)

Excellent gallery with a mix of the old and new. Wonderful old entrance but with beautifully modern rooms. Modern art isnt normally for me but I appreciated the creatively designed displays. There is also a lovely cafe and shop.

A real gem in the heart of Wolverhampton. There are the usual traditional Georgian and Victorian paintings but also some excellent and interesting modern art, including a notable pop art section. There are regular touring and one-off exhibitions. From the front, this is a provincial Victorian gallery but behind the facade, the gallery has been much extended and modernised and is vastly better for it. There is also a reasonable cafe on the first floor.

Great Day, staff always willing to help you, went to Special event Day. With Wolverhampton Amateur radio society.

Love the art gallery & the fantasy brick world was amazing, unfortunately we didnt realize the story telling was on headphones / phone untill the end so missed that part.

Spent a few hours here, exhibitions were very good, loved the puppets from 1970s childrens TV. Had coffee in morning and lunch in the cafe. Staff were all very helpful.Website had mentioned exhibition of Gainsborough painting but the staff said they only had two Gainsborough paintings One portrait on display, and a landscape in store which we could book to view.

Really enjoyed an hour wandering around the gallery. Great temporary exhibition and some lovely old pieces too. All free to see. I wouldve stayed longer than an hour if Id had time!

Good art spaces, as ever some exhibits are very subjective. My main purpose was to visit the exhibition of childrens tv puppets and animation which was nostalgic and very enjoyable.

Very good art gallery and its free. Theres a coffee shop inside the building where you will get very good cheese cake and coffee

Went for brick live bit pricey for 3 rooms but rest of gallery was closed so not a good visit this time

Underrated art gallery. Treat local art the same as international art.Always something good to see.Have recently had both the Lego exhibition and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

Very nice and elegant place

Staff are friendly and courteous, a one way system in place. Interesting exhibition detailing the experienced of people of colour in the NHS. An exhibition of Indian culture focused on dance and the arts. Not all of the exhibition halls are open, but on the whole an interesting visit.

Brilliant place free entry bit please give atleast £2 a person or £1 a child if you can spare it! Staff are so lovely and helpful and also alot to see and learn

What a local art gallery should be.

We visited specifically to see the international wildlife photography exhibition that is open until October 17. It was £4 entrance each adult to see the photos which were exceptional. Worth every penny of the entrance cost but sadly with just three seats available to watch an interesting continuous playing video. The cafe had some very good pakora with a large cup of lovely coffee each afterwards ☺️

Visited to get a beat the street card, took 4 year old daughter, wouldnt recommend for younger kids unless there is something specific for them to see, otherwise nice place and some fab stuff to look at too

Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is amazing, well worth the £4 ticket price. The rest of the gallery is free to visit and I really enjoyed the other displays, in particular the puppetry and This Way Up exhibition.

Tim Mara exhibition is great. Nice little art gallery in the middle of town. A mixture of old and new architecture and, of course, a good cafe serving hot drinks and cake.

The access to the art gallery is free.I particularly enjoyed the videos showing artists producing their pieces of art and the exposition about the work of young photographers. The exposition about Belfast was a bit disappointing.Overall, it was a nice visit a d it took me a little bit more than one hour to visit the gallery.There is a cafe inside, on the top floor.Worth to say that there isnt much more to see in Wolverhampton about culture.

All nicely accessible. The disabled entrance need better sign posting. The staff were charming. All in all quite a small venue as two galleries are being developed.

Real shame. Used to love the Cafe with its Indian platter and great salads. Now its got one salad, some Luke warm jacket potatoes and some really rude staff who just grunt when you ask them if they do other food. Real disappointment

Nice big very attractive place. Went there to see theatre play, bus connectivty n metro is near by... but car parking is bit problem there. U must be lucky to find place to park (its paid).

Smashing art gallery. A wide range of permanent exhibitions and temporary pieces. The Georgian collection is wonderful as are some of the contemporary works.

Fabulous little gem of a gallery. Diverse range of artwork in and a perfect venue for a wedding. Guides were helpfuland friendly but not intrusive would definitely recommend a visit.

The art gallery is located in the city centre and is free. The building is spacious and well maintained. The facilities are good including cafe, shop and toilets. Some really varied exhibitions have showcased here. Highly recommended.

Its really commendable how a relatively small city council gives such importance to art. Good stuff on display -- mostly by upcoming artists... quiet atmosphere... good cafeteria on the first floor. A rather heartwarming statue of Gandhi, perhaps the tallest figure of Indian Freedom Movement, on display.

Fantastic customer service. Got to Wolverhampton and found out the train station had no bag storage. Carried my bags to this museum since it was a stop I wanted to make. The gentleman I spoke with was extremely understanding and said we could keep our bags in the lockers all day so long as we contribute what we can to the museum. I only had two £1 coins and he said that was totally fine. Great location- right near tons of local attractions and it is clean, well kept and very well curated. Lots of wonderful national and local art!!

Where are all the works of art disappearing to? Everytime we go theres less and less, all the fun things for kids have disappeared, too much cafe not enough art! Except for some questionable bits of modern art... Shame

Fine exhibition of watercolours from Queen Victoria

I loved it. There where loads of exhibits. I went to see the Painted Ladies exhibition. Although smaller than i thought it would be, it was still excellent. Dont forget to visit the coffee shop.

A good way to spend an hour or so of an afternoon in Wolverhampton. The pieces are varied, thought-provoking and well laid out.Would definitely recommend!

Really enjoyed my visit. Lots to look at. Lots of information about every piece and very interesting local history pieces. Entrance is free. Cafe available for drinks and snacks. Toilets were clean. Definitely plan on a return visit.

Real nice place for just hanging out for quiet time. The coffee is decent which helps. I like the way its arranged also, with seating on the top level.

Really good art gallery with lots of interesting exhibitions that circulate throughout the year. The range of art is excellent and they have many different mediums represented throughout.We go often for childrens workshops (run by SCARF) that are well resourced and the prices are fair. There are workshops for children aged 0 months - teenagers which is fantastic as many places often begin at 5 years old. Great for sensory play and getting children interested in art from a young age.The Animal Man company were there today and had lots of different species (including owls, tarantulas, snakes and geckos) that were free to hold and view. They also had paid art activities and talks with other animals.Worth a peruse if you are in the area or search their upcoming events for exciting activities.

Beautiful Gallery for such a small town

Am absolute gem in the heart of Wolverhampton city centre. The gallery is an oasis of calm seemlessly mixing mixture of classic and modern art to inspire all. Well worth a visit and then a return visit or two.

One of the best collections of Pop Art in the country! Excellent modern wing, plus the beautiful Victorian original building, great cafe, lovely, pleasant, helpful staff & St. Peters gardens to relax in after your visit.

Went to see a wildlife photography exhibition and followed up with a nice light lunch. Enjoyed my visit and would go again.

Worth a visit

We had a lovely visit there, it was all very interesting & I was allowed to photograph a much admired picture. Fantastic cafe, delicious scones.

Well laid out, interesting displays and the cafe is a nice extra.

Not child friendly, ushers were quite rude and aggressive. Had to cut short a visit due to the attitude of the museum staff. Cafe staff were lovely though.

This is a very impressive medium sized museum. It contains a very interesting collection of traditional and modern art. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere warm and inclusive.

Great place to visit with the family. I attended a craft event with my 5 yr old and both loved it. Brilliant exhibitions too.
