We had a great day out with our toddler who is obsessed with all cars and planes! It was a special mini event on the Sunday we went which made it even more fun. We liked it so much that we have bought a years membership as couldnt get round everything in a day. Staff are really friendly and everything felt nice and safe in these covid times.
This place for me is easily getting a 5 star and anyone who gives it less then that honestly I don’t see why or how??? Firstly £17 entry! That’s decent and fairly cheap and let’s not forget how many exhibits they have on site which is a ton from vintage cars to the most modern of sports cars to some classic war planes and again to even some more recent ones! Also the old brooklands track is still there to see which has a very cool steep banking! And furthermore the is a London Bus museum on site which you can check out completely free!Plus they do bus tours/rides kinda of the town of working and yeah that’s literally not kidding a very cool 😎 trip on a old route master or whatever it is. But it’s a real travel almost back in time I’d say and if I’m being honest with Benz world across the road from me or from Brooklands the museum and having seen the two within last 2 of 3 days the big question is that which one do I prefer? Benz world or Brooklands? Put it this way they both have a lot to do but if I could only pick one to explore again! It’d have to be Brooklands! The staff there are more I found at least knowledgeable of what they’re talking about and the history of the surrounding area and more friendly people I found! That’s not to say I found Mercedes Benz world bad or anything but I do think Brooklands tops it for me given that’s the area it originally was and that they have more heritage at the site. And I can see why this museum is world famous like was described to me by many.
This is one of those old-skool places that needs to be visited & supported. Even if you’re not that into cars & racing it’s a nice place to come for a day out especially if you have young kids as there is the bus museum and planes to be enjoyed. Not only that but you can pop on over to Mercedes after and enjoy that. The bar is members only or you need to be with/invited by a member. A nice dining experience, although the hospitality manager could have a better attitude!Obviously there are toilet facilities on site including the old racing driver urinals which is interesting to see!!I would visit when there is a car show of some description on as then you get more for your entrance fee.Ice creams and other refreshments were available on the day I went.
Great museum, far more here than expected cars/ planes/ race track and stratospheric chamber. If staff are available there is the opportunity to sit in some aircraft. All staff are very welcoming as you enter each exhibition and will ask if you have been before and if not will give you a quick run down of what you are about to see.
Great volunteers who bring the whole museum to life. I could spend days there so easily, and probably will in the future now we know where you are. I absolutely love the place. If we lived nearer, I would definitely be one of the volunteers who welcome new visitors to the museum.Thank you for an excellent day out, and soon may it be repeated. Kindest wishes, Dave and Ja Weaver
A very good day out plenty to see and do. Cafe with limited menu, outdoor seating and kiddies play area. Well informed volunteers willing to inform on any of the exhibits.
Fantastic day out, lots of history in brooklands. The team of volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Adult £16.30,Child £8.95
This was a great visit with a 100 years of history from motor racing to planes. Will return for a while day in the future.
4 x 60+ year old men arrived for 1000 opening time and left at 1700 closing time totally exhausted after a fantastic day out looking at aircraft developed by Vickers on the site; old cars, bicycles, motorcycles and buses. On arrival make sure to buy the extra tickets for the Concorde experience. In reality you need more time and could pair it with the Mercedes Museum next door maybe staying at the Brooklands Hotel nearby. Thanks to all the very informative stewards for making the day so informative.
First time here despite living close by for years! I had no idea of the scale, the entrance price is incredibly cheap given all the things to see and do. The staff are just so lovely and knowledgable. Highly recommend! Only one photo to show as I was too busy enjoying it all.
A brilliant and interesting way to spend a good few hours. Loads of amazing exhibits and the guys everywhere are friendly, interesting and knowledgeable. The bikes were of great interest to dad. Well, it was a treat for him after all 😁
Amazing I have never seen anything to compare I would travel the world to visit
Fabulous place with well informed staff on hand to make history come alive for the kids!
A fab day for all ages. A wonderful jam packed day out. Dont miss out on getting an aeroplane made for the children! Only one small criticism, there was only one choice of sandwich for the childrens lunch box which was cheese. I did ask the staff for tuna or ham but no alternative available. So we spent more getting individual items.
Amazing history ... cars, planes and bikes... just feel the past under your feet
Great day out. The staff were amazing with the kids and the whole site is very well laid out
Great place to see the history of motorsport. With cars, bikes, planes and transportation at the famous Brooklands banked race track. The planes outside could do with a clean up and a lick of paint and the exhibits would be better if spaced out more but all in all a great place to spend a day...
Excellent place to visit, so many interesting transport related items. Very good value and super staff / volunteers
Perfect place to visit as a family i love it i even made member ship
Fantastic day, so much to see, the volunteers were incredibly knowledge and were so willing to tell you great facts. The restaurant was great value for money. Highly recommend.
An absolute gem of a museum with something for transport buffs everywhere. I visited for the Brooklands Relived event which, surprisingly was the same cost as a normal admittance. The added bonus of seeing Grand Prix cars for the 95th anniversary of the first one in the UK at Brooklands was a delight. The volunteers are a credit to the museum with their knowledge and approachability. Im an aviation fan and the ability on this event day to board a BAC 1-11 and a Vickers Viscount was the highlight for me.The only negative was that I didnt manage to get a tour of the Concorde but thats my own fault for not booking it well beforehand. The cafe was a little pricey but on par with similar other London venues. Im glad I took my brolly on such a changeable day.If you get chance to go on an event day its well worth it. Be sure to speak to the guides as they have insights that you probably wont find in any books/websites.
Really fun day out everything’s really good and interesting You can also go in some of the planes
It good for family and friends. The have a f1 simulator which is cool
Great opportunity to go on a Concord. Impressive displays of aircraft and some cars. Disappointed that the bus museum was closed for refurbishment, without warning when booking tickets. Nice cafe.
Plenty of interesting exhibits showing the history of aviation, motor racing and bikes. Also the London bus museum
Discover the pioneers of speed, flight and adventure at the birthplace of British motorsport, aviation and home of Concorde.
Excellent thought it would be a 2 hour visit turned into 5! Knowledgable volunteers to help.
Very interesting displays and good value. Well worth a visit
My wife and I had wanted to visit Brooklands Museum for twenty years, and finally attended last Saturday 10 July 2021. We had an amazing day (and will almost certainly go again). The Museum site is in four main parts: 1. An introduction to the site, its history, its motorsports, including a small F1 museum. 2. Brooklands aircraft factory, which includes the Wellington bomber recovered from Loch Ness. 3. Aircraft Park with seven full size planes, including Concorde and 4. London Bus Museum. All were very interesting. There is a small extra charge (£3) to tour Concorde, and we recommend this. Walk along the former finishing straight to see the banked over, built in 9 months in 1907. It is very steep, and so take real care if you walk up the slope. We thought we know all of the major motorsport names, bit some new ones certainly cropped up. How about Percy Lambert - the first person to drive 100 miles in one hour? While you are at Brooklands, walk (or drive) over to the Mercedes Benz World. It is very close, and with free parking and entry, too good to miss.
Great show today looking forward to next time
Fantastic place to visit along with the bus museum
Great day out really enjoyed it. Well worth a visit
Lovely family day out. The staff and volunteers were very helpful and knowledgeable. From a covid point of view they were really on the ball. Temperature s taken on entry and one way systems in place. The cafe were very organised and politely kept customers right regarding covid regs.We enjoyed seeing the planes and buses.
An excellent day out for the whole family with so much to see and do. Make the most of the activity packs for children (and grown ups) to complete. Its a great way to navigate around the museum and exhibition! There are interactive stations to keep little people occupied and help their learning. The Concorde experience is well worth a visit and also get yourself on the driving experience around the old race circuit. Really good fun!We didnt go on the London bus tour but that also looked like funThe volunteers are enthusiastic and keen to talk about the exhibitions and answer any questions you have.We have purchased family membership as we would definitely visit a second time which makes the membership worth it.The events they have throughout the year look really interesting and suits needs to visitors.I honestly did not think we would spend longer than half the day however, we spent the whole day there. There is a coffee shop/canteen and toilet facilities are nice, clean and with easy accessSign up to the newsletter and see what they have in store to wet your appetite 😊
Fantastic day spent here, chatting with many knowledgeable people 😁👍
My family and I had a lovely day out at The Brooklands Museum. Theres a few carriers that were closed due to Covid but most of the facilities were open. We took an old timey bus ride on a vintage bus (70 yrs old) the ride lasted around 30 mins around Weybridge town the cost is £2 per adult £1 per child. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and we had a nice lunch at the Sunbeam Cafe. We spent around 4 hours here arrived at 10:30am lunch at 1pm then toilets and gift shop and exited around 2:30pm. You can stroll around the old race track. Theres also disabled parking and access. I would recommend as a day out for families.
Very nice day outing with a variety of activities and focus areas. It is a large historic area in which a private person has build a race track early 1900s. Up to the the 1930s races were held here which have been successfully and wellknown. It covered motorcycle races, those of cars, speed records and the like. The museum keep a large selection of exclusive historic racers.Thereafter Vickers started an industrial company and build the Vickers airplanes. Some of those models are restoref and on display. There is also a London transport museum with a range of older to new double-decker and other transport means. Conclusion we had a great time here and I would highly recommend Brooklands for an day outing.
Great day out. Very friendly knowledgeable staff, fantastic historical cars and aircrafts. Not forgetting the famous banked racing track. Lovely snacks available and plenty of benches to sit and eat. Great to see people bringing their own classic/vintage cars and showing them off. Many historically important displays both cars and planes. Lots for kids to do along with adults too.
Excellent day out, bikes, busses, planes, cars, everything in historic setting.Highly recommended.
Brilliant day out. Fantastic exhibits, enthusiastic and helpful volunteers to explain everything. Highlight was a flight on Concorde. Thoroughly recommend.
The place is nice, with enthusiastic volunteers, detailed guide tour! ALSO, CUTE BEARS!
Great museum lots of rare racing vehicles including planes and buses well worth a look
Fun day out for the family with exhibits from the earliest days of motoring right up to the vehicles of the future. Also has a collection of aeroplanes and buses.
Excellent museum, fantastic hospitality from Steve and the team. The food was fabulous and excellent quality. Thank you.
A great day out for all the family. Steeped in history, a lot of which I was completely unaware. I knew it was a historic race track but e.g. during the 2nd World War and the following years made more aircraft than any other factory in Europe, including Concorde.Plenty of variety with planes, old buses and numerous other exhibits in various buildings. Covid friendly and loads of inside and outside spaces. Hot lunches available and were very tasty and very reasonably priced. A lot of the upkeep is carried out by volunteers. It now has its own T.V. series.
What a wonderful day out! So much to see! Our first visit to this excellent Museum. Kind, helpful staff! One of our best days out ever! Nice restaurant for a welcome Pitstop during your visit! 👍10 out of 10 guys! Thank you!🙂
Plenty to do and see even if watered down due to COVID.Staff know their stuff and are very helpful and willing to spend time explaining.Cafe food ok but price of a can of drink is robbery at £2.60
What a great place. So much to see and learn, especially if you have see the TV program Secrets of the transport museum. We found it great value and all exhibits quite close to each other. The volunteers are so helpful. We loved our ride in a car up the hill climb and the short trip on the banking. A special thank you to Roger for the ride and his informative chat.
Always wanted to visit this as a kid, now 50 years later I actually get there.
Great variety of things to see and do especially with summer activities (weather permitting). Three under 10s were kept fully occupied for about 5 hours.Nice mix of static installations to explore (planes, cars and buses) and interactive exhibits. The plane design challenges were particularly popular.Activity booklet for children was good, sufficiently challenging to engage youngsters into finding out more and exploring the site.
Had fantastic time on Sunday 12 ,Stirling moss tribute day never been to brooklands before so much to see and do ,went on Concorde , brilliant! Can’t wait till auto Italia day ,hats off to all the staff who I believe some of them volunteer 👍👍👍
Spent a lovely few hours here. Lots to see but the site is manageable in size compared to say Duxford so you can see all of it in one visit. Has a nice friendly wartime vibe to the place and I loved walking on the famed (if rather crumbling) banked tarmac
Awesome find and really interesting bikes, cars & planes. Thanks all!!
Souch to see here, planes cars buses makes a great family day out.
Great day out if you are interested in cars, bikes, motorbikes, buses, planes, racing cars. Lots to see and do, the volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly and will happily talk to you about all things automotive! Exhibits are all well kept. Food in the cafe was pricey but picnic benches are available if you bring your picnic.
1 day is not enough.A surrey hidden gem. Any London resident that has not ben here is missing out on a stroll through aviation and motor history.
Wanted to come for years. Hasnt disappointed. All the staff around the exhibits are friendly and knowledgeable
We had a wonderful day at Brooklyn’s museum. My husband being a racing fan found much of this fascinating. The set up takes you back in time with buildings being sympathetically constructed or maintained to that of 1930’s. There is much to do for children with aircraft and buses that can be accessed. It is easy to miss things of interest so you do need a whole day to explore. It is ran by volunteer enthusiasts who are only too pleased to explain or take time to show you things - it’s not just a job to them. Thank you to Nigel for explains the “big door” and taking the time to show us around this section. Also thanks to Thomas who enthusiastically talked to us about aircraft.BONUS - parking is free!
Fantastic place well organised and lots of great informative staff.
Brilliant day out with loads to see and do. Concorde Experience brilliant. Sunbeam Cafe has nice homemade food but silly layout and chaotic counter service. very pleasant young people serving but with no visible management.
Was good bus mans holiday
Excellent. The London Bus Museum is especially well presented and undoubtedly the star attraction amongst other wonderful exhibits. A good day out for all the family.
Been a visitor for many years and always enjoyed my visits. Now my children are enjoying this great price of British history.
A nice place.Visited on the first open day.
Awesome family day out, bundles to see and do. Fairly extensive free car parking outside. Lots of historical motor racing stuff cars, bikes etc. A large collection of busses and aircraft outside which you climb aboard and sit in. The Wellington bomber that was found at Loch Ness on display. Endless fun. Concorde on display, an additional fee to have a guided tour. Very helpful staff. Lots of gifts to buy too.
Had a wonderful day at brooklands. Thanks to you all & for information knowledge from Diana(History), Tim( aircraft)Alan (bus museum)
Excellent! Concorde Experience worth doing, book online before your visit. London Transport museum is also on site, vintage buses run during the day, doing a half hour tour to the town and back, book on the day at the bus museum. Café was chaotic, apparently new signage has been ordered, the food was delicious. Knowledgeable volunteers and interesting displays made this a very good day out. Definitely worth a visit.
Amazing museum steeped in history I would recomend any body visit because its not just about racing and cars well worth every penny and the volunteers so helpful.
What a great day out .children will love this as much as the adults.
Brooklands Museum is situated west of London and is very modern and clean place for a visit, with many attractions and a good shop. And its free!A great place for a half day visit - or longer if youre in for a test drive, or virtual race/A wealth of Mercedes cars to view, helped by friendly staff.Regular film shows in a lovely small cinema.Even more to experience if youre a Lewis Hamilton fan.Highly recommended, and did I tell you? ITS FREE!
Really nice place to visit all. The staff are very friendly and informative
It is great to see racing cars, aircraft and a bus museum all on the same site. The remaining race track is amazing
My partner and I had a wonderful day at Brooklands. The staff and volunteers were so friendly and informative; they certainly made our visit even better. Shall look forward to a return visit soon.
There are many facets to this museum with a blend of motorsport and aviation.
Lovely exhibition of vintage vehicles, some also raced on the old Brooklands track
Great visit, quiet allowing lots of time to view exhibits, even got to see the Avro.
Quite a pleasant experience, easy access to all exhibitions, great day at the Brooklands Museum.
Fantastic place thoroughly recommend if you have even the remotest interest in cycle, car or motorbike racing. Oh and there are London buses and airplanes as well.Interactive things for the kids to do as well. Very atmospheric place
Wow. Awesome place. For big and small humans. Defo will be back. And cafe is very allergy friendly. Gluten free cake selection just top up the experience
My first time to Brookland museum and I urge everyone to go and see the fantastic collections they have. Cars, buses, planes, inside and out. Some gems to find and gawp at.Currently they have good social distancing measures as well as antibacterial in near enough every shed you go into. Each exhibit is manned by a volunteer and they are all super friendly.Only small interactive attractions are not available, otherwise is business as usual. Some one way systems in place too. As there is a limited number of people can enter the premises, it is quieter with less queues for food too.
Fantastic day out, have always wanted to go finally managed it it was a lovely day out. The volunteers were amazing a credit to the museum, the food and service in the Sunbeam Cafe was superb. You get to walk on the part of the track that remains (that was something for me personally). But I saved the best till last, the 40 min trip on one of the old Routemaster Buses that brought back some memories, plus couldnt believe how small inside the Routemaster was back in those days.
Shame that the planes are at the mercy of the elements and all the cars cosily tucked up indoors. There must be some way to protect the aircraft for posterity.
If you can, go outside of school holidays! It was wonderfully calm, plenty of space to see and read. Live vehicle demonstration was exciting and a chance to walk down part of the track. Aeroplanes outside have a brilliant display and allow you to get some real perspective of their size, including Concorde. Great day out, spent approx 4 hours in the museum.
An absolutely fantastic day out! So much to see and a lot of really interesting vehicular exhibits as well as the beautiful grounds and famous banked circuit.I would recommend a whole day to take everything in with enough time. The staff are also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and went over and above to help out in the event of a technical failure when trying to book tickets.
Great place to visit. Staff are ever so friendly and couldnt be more helpful and knowledgeable about the exhibits. Well organised displays. Some real markers of history here. Original buildings and the atmosphere really capture the right feelings and tug your heartstrings in the right places. Definitely worth a visit. Makes a good gift experience - and they do cream teas!
Yesteryear at its finest! A truly inspirational look into the past and present of engineering of cars/aircraft.. I highly recommend it!FYI... if money is a little tight, take a pack lunch as the cafe is expensive!
Great day out
A great day out for the whole family, my 5 year old son loved it just as much as his grandad. Will definitely go back & likely to get membership next time.
Fantastic day out ..so much to see and do, so allow a whole day. One of the many things that make this museum so great is that its run by lots of very friendly volunteers who are very welcoming and passionate about transort and keen to answer any questions.Sadly at the time of our visit the actual bus museum is temporarily closed but the trips round weybridge town on an old route master bus were still on offer (£8.00 extra for 3 adults and 2 children) and well worth it as this was a surprising treat for all of us and a great way to break up the day and rest some some little legs! There is everything here from a Penny Farthing bicycle to the latest Formula One car. Would definitely recommend booking well ahead as tickets for the Concorde experience sell out really fast but the other planes are still open to explore.Sunbeam restaurant offered good selection of food at reasonable prices. We are all going to return later in the summer
Really good vintage museum. Lots of vehicles to look at. Cars, bikes, aircraft and buses. Would definitely recommend looking at the old race track to get a perspective of the incline on the curve. Family friendly. Great for all ages.
