I used to love this place but I feel the quality had changed and the environment is cold. The man at the desk made weird comments about my hair and nail color selection. Felt uncomfortable. Will not be going back.

They were nice even tho communicating was lil hard to themIn general they did a clean job but it wasnt exactly what i wanted and i didn’t like the shape i showed them a pic and its really different to what i wanted the white french is so thick

The receptionist was a young man who really friendly and accommodating. However, the woman giving me a pedicure was rude/cold and did not make me feel comfortable at all. The paint job was fine (just asked for regular nail polish) and I still tipped her 10$ - which she did not even thank me for. So because of the service, I will not be returning.

Kim is the best.Im sure all the other technicians are fine.. but her attention to detail is unmatched.A pivotal moment was when I sat getting a pedicure whilst the persons water got cold besides me and KIM had the wherewithal to add some more hot water to my pedicure bath for my comfort.Its the details for me.She is unmatched.I have been hesitant to leave a review for very selfish reasons. But after 10 months of seeing exclusively her. Ive come to the realization that its not about me, its about HER. SHE should be celebrated.I even have to call ahead rather than book online because she takes longer.20/10My advice is to book an appointment in the afternoon when the man (sorry, dont know his name but he is a vibe) is working because the am is chaotic and they are grasping at straws to get organized with your booking.

I’m so Happy with this place. It’s always really fast and efficient. The shellac stays for 2-3 weeks. They also have really good rates.

Im currently visiting MTL and needed my nails filled. I read the reviews and THOUGHT this place was perfect. Worst mistake and fill of my nail journey. This salon didnt even gave me the decency of letting one technician finish my nails. Im actually disgusted. Never go here! The worst EVER. Id rather fly to Toronto to get my nails done properly. I literally feel like that psychic lady from long Island medium. Gross.

Ive been twice so far for acrylic refill + gel manicure. Both times, the service was absolutely great, the prices are very affordable and their colour selection is endless. The staff is very professional and welcoming, and the quality of work is great. Needless to say, Ive found my new nail place. They do tend to get very busy, so I recommend making an appointment in advance. Highly recommend!

I had a pedicure done by Anne, who helped me select the perfect polish color, based on the desired look I was going for. Kim was my manicurist, whom I highly recommend. Asked for a nail dipping and gave me acrylic nails WITH nail dipping... lack of training and experience, a good nail technician should know that you either do nail dipping OR acrylic. My nails were uneven and 2 broke within 5 days. You can see how my nails are super thick and both are very different from one another.

My pedicure was standard and pretty good. Nothing very different than other places and the price was fair.The issue was with my manicure. I had a gel manicure done, and when I sat down, the nail technician used a dirty towel and did not change it. There were fake nail clipping and nail dust all over it. This is gross in a normal time, let alone during covid. The areas didn’t seem to be getting sanitized between clients either.My gel mani started peeling after a week, and they say gel should last at minimum for two weeks (although when I go to other salons, my gel manis can last anywhere from 4-6 weeks with no chipping or peeling). The gel polish went over my cuticles, so when it grew out the gel was basically lifted.Needless to say, I didn’t go back. My boyfriend was pleased with his basic mani/pedi but the cleanliness was questionable... The price was good, but I’d much prefer to pay more and not have peeling gel polish after a week.

Nice exerience, my shellac manicure pasted 2 weeks even tho I have a VERY manual job that damages nails a lot. So these would probably last more than 2 weeks if you have a normal job. Also, very welcoming staff

Love this place! Clean, no harsh chemical smell, all the employees are so kind. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of work provided as well. Highly recommend for locals as your regular nail place and tourists if you just need your nails done on the spot. My go-to nail artist, her work is fantastic. Ive been here plenty of times before and had minor imperfections that I can live with (from afar not noticeable)But the last time I went last Friday, 8 days ago and already my set of acrylics have broken off. Ive never had this problem with Candy, who usually did my nails and they last forever. But the last time it was Fong and my experience at the shop wasnt as good as the other times. She would divide my time with other clients and I spent a total of an hour and a half in the chair.. good thing I didnt have to be anywhere. Im just disappointed in the quality of service and the job she did on me when Im used to always having excellent quality service at this salon

I used to go there regularly, but recently I am not happy with their service.I guess the top coat that they are using it is not good, so after 2,3 days you will have dark stains on your shellac.

I love MOD`S NAILS! The owner has truly grown over the years I have been a client. He now has several employees working for him that he is training to execute flawless nails! Having employees also allows his nail salon to take walk-ins daily. I have personally used all the other techs and they all are capable.I normally get an acrylic overlay on my natural nails or a hard gel overlay on my natural nails. Ive seen owner and his employees do everything from a simple polish to glow in the dark nails to real crystals on every nail! You can actually show them a picture and they will give whats on the picture, not just squiggly lines like some other nail shops.He cares about your nail health. I personally witness how aware he is with sanitizing his implements and keeping his salon clean. Give MOD`S NAILS a chance, you wont regret it!

Best and favorite nail salon! They always listen to my nail design ideas and try to do them as best as they can and they always achieve what i wanted. I like that they make it kind of a community style salon. Most salons have the nail techs taking in another language to each other completely ignoring the person they are working on, but at MOD`S NAILS they talk to everyone in the salon and customers talk to each other as well. I always send friends their way when they want a nice unique manicure/pedicure.I would definitely recommend this place. I will definitely be coming back!

It was a nice and relaxing environment to get my nails done. They are very accommodating and are willing to put in the extra efforts to make your nails look nice. My nail lady put on 3 coats of color to make it look better before I even ask. Great services and friendly staffs. I would really recommend you to try it out.

This was my first time going to MOD`S NAILS, and I had an AMAZING experience. The staff was friendly, the salon is very clean, and my services were great. I got a gel manicure and spa pedicure. I waited less than 5 minutes, and the nail techs were extremely attentive to my needs. Their work was meticulous. They prices are a bit higher than I am used to paying, but the service makes it worth the little extra. I will definitely return!

Just got a gel fill here and it was amazing. Ive never had someone pay so much attention to my nails and they are perfect. I brought my three kids with me and when my youngest started fussing, the staff went above and beyond to help. I love good customer service along with a great end result and I got both here.

I suspect this company is pursuing fraudulent activities. I went for a pedicure. I presented myself in the morning to book the appointment for the afternoon. I checked-in in the afternoon. Only when I came to pay after the manicure was I told the credit card machine was broken and I had to pay cash. The hostess was impressively rapid to describe to me all the banks in the area where I could withdraw cash and when I showed my surprise of this situation since I was never told the machine was broken earlier (and the situation was known, because many clients were coming back and forth with cash money when I arrived at my appointment. I, of course, only figured this out after the fact), the hostess became rude and insisted I leave my purse with her while I go withdraw some cash, because she does not know me and therefore cannot trust I will come back to pay. Being told I am the thief when they are most likely pursuing fraudulent activities by only accepting cash without warning their clients was a little unbelievable!!!Update: To the owner of Mods Nails, thank you for your reply and the explanation, I appreciate it. It really shed some light on my experience and I can now better make sense of what might have happened that day. I therefore apologize for my suspicion at the time.

Clean, upscale and excellent service! Everyone is extremely professional! The prices are a tad higher than Im used to but its worth every penny! HUGE color selection in both regular and gel polish. This is my happy place lol!

Absolutely amazing! The service here is amazing and the people are so nice. I got the sns dip nails, and Im blown away. I previously went to another nail salon and got dip nails as well, but they were cracked and bent. She is absolutely the best! She helped me pick out my colors and explained what she was doing and why while she worked. I realized that the previous salon left out two major steps. The price is great for dip nails and I cant tell you again how amazing the staff is. I highly recommend!! Cant wait to go in for my next set.

AWESOME! Theres no other way to describe this nail salon.From the moment I walked in, to the moment I left, the service was outstanding and I felt very comfortable. I was offered a drink at the beginning as well as when my nails were drying after my service was complete. I didnt get the womans name who did my nails, but every single person that worked in the salon greeted me even though I was not their client. I just moved to Westmount a couple of weeks ago and I am SO happy I found the perfect nail salon so quickly. I went in for a regular manicure with my mom the other day. We both had a gift certificate. When we entered and gave our gift certificate they brought us to a table where both of our technicians did not care to greet us. They began right away and would grab our hands and fingers without notifying us about what they were doing. They did not speak to us to ask us basic things such as if the water was an alright temperature, if we were comfortable, etc. Midway through, my technician got up and went to serve someone else without even speaking a word to me. My mother’s technician had to finish both of our manicures for us. We were then left to dry our nails and no one returned to let us know that we can leave. As we left, they did not acknowledge our departures. One of the technicians who had not even served us told us goodbye and thank you. My mom and I are not picky. We do not get manicures very often but have still gone to many different places in the past. I was not expecting to have a lengthy conversation with the technician, but our comfort was not at all regarded. This is a customer oriented service and I was not pleased.When it came to the actual manicure itself, the top coat was not even applied onto the whole part of my nail, and even worse, it had already chipped by the next morning. It is unfortunate that we had such a horrible experience because the reviews seemed to be good.The picture below was from the next morning(I did not do any rough work with my hands).

I have ALWAYS gotten my nails done here and LOVE it. They are very reasonably priced and do an amazing job. I have gone to others and described how I wanted my nails only to be disappointed. They may not be the fanciest shop in town but they do the best nail job!!

Great spot for a quick or last-minute manicure! They are always able to book me in a day before (great for someone with a busy schedule!). The service is quick and efficient and the nails last a few weeks (normal). Not sure what they use but this is the first time my nails havent been damaged from shellac (not in the slightest!). Ive been here a few times and have always had the greatest service! My most recent visit was for a gel manicure. Im happy to say (and a little ashamed of myself at the same time), that the gel polish stayed intact for the past 4 weeks, no chips or anything! So crazy because theyve never lasted me that long. Aside from all of my regrowth, they still look amazingly perfect. Dont worry, Im going back today for a fresh change.

The literal best nail salon. Super clean. Everything they use on you is new. I do dip and it could last forever! I redo them after 4 weeks. Dont go anywhere else! I was so happy after my visit here. She completely fixed my screwed up, painful nails and I am so grateful. I had gotten my nails done at another salon about 2 weeks prior, and that lady had really messed up my nails, so much so that my nails were breaking and ripping left and right. They were so thin that they hurt to touch anything and literally had ripped off and bled. Anyway, I came here and my tech (didnt get her name) understood my situation and was SO gentle and made sure nothing she did hurt me. I got a gel mani to hopefully keep my nails protected while they grew out and I love them. Also, the place is gorgeous inside. I dont live close to here, about 45 mins away, but I am considering coming back for every nail appointment it was so great. And Im still just so relieved she didnt hurt my nails.

I just moved to Westmount and have been trying to find a good nail place. Mods Nails is the second place I tried here and I loved it! I called and made an appointment same day. It was super affordable and the owner made me feel so comfortable! It will definitely be my regular nail place that Ill go to all the time.

I found another place that offers SNS nail treatment! They do it a bit differently here and they only have 5 colours though.I went on a sunday morning with my friend without appointment and we had to wait about 30 minutes before being served, which was fine.My nail technician was very careful which I really appreciated. My nails turned out great! The only thing that confused me is that they added a cured top coat on top of the powder so Im not sure how they plan on removing the polish once I switch my SNS colour in 3 weeks.I really like the SNS treatment because my real nails are getting stronger every time which will allow me to just get shellac in the future instead of the full treatment. My nail technician did mention they felt strong enough for me to just apply regular polish directly on the nail but I want to wait more to make absolutely sure they wont break. Ive been waiting so long for my nails to be this length for real.I always get them shortened as well and my nail technician was almost reluctant to do it because she loved the length they were at! SSeeing as this salon was in Westmount I expected the prices to be high. It was $55 with taxes and tip, not something Im willing to pay every time but since I really needed a refill, it was ok. Its also what I used to pay sometimes for salons downtown that did a worse job.

The technicians are great! My nails typically last at least three weeks if not longer. GIve them a try, I dont think youll be dissapointed.

Done to quick with no care of quailty job. I dont think they all GOT the papers WORK Shifty job on both my pedicure and my daughters nails were not dont properly.. asked round tip got point and one nail pointy.. not worth the money...

Ive been to several nail salons in the city but this one has a lot of good nail techThis nail salon has a ton of nail color selection with a variety of brands of nail polish from OPI, Essie, Deborah Shellac, to ones Ive never heard of. I received a pedicure all three times Ive been here and have never had a problem. I do have to say the last time I was here the person who did my nails took the time to make sure she evenly shaped my big toe even when I wasnt concerned about it. This place is pretty awesome totally worth it,They do a good job My nails still look great a week later. All the women working there were really nice

I always go there for my nails, whether its a regular manicure, SNS or shellac, and I get compliments for it, almost every time. I get it done with Sophie, shes quite experienced and meticulous. For my wedding, I got SNS done in the light pink shade and asked for almond-shaped nail extensions, and was quite pleased with the results. These last a good 2-3 weeks ;)

Went here bout a year ago. Nothing has ever compared. The person was detailed, careful, and made sure color was very well done, and nails were all the same size. The prices are the same in my area so its a good price for westmount. Worth travelling for.

I get my nails done every month and i just recently move to westmount so i was looking for somewhere closer to home and work. I called during my lunch hour to make an appointment for 5pm, the girl on the phone didnt even ask for my name or anything. I get there a bit before 5pm and i am yelled at from across the room asking what i am here for, so i tell the girl and she tells me to choose a color. There were no chairs to wait in at the front so i had to stumble through to find 4 chairs at the back. Its now 5pm and no one has helped me. 5:25pm the girl comes to take off my nail polish. Then i am seated at the front and a gentleman is starting my nails but every 2 minutes he is getting up to help people pay. Then a woman comes to do my nails. Then another girl comes to finish my nails. I had shown all 3 people a picture of what i wanted and the final result was nothing close to what i had asked. I assumed that if they were unable to do what i had asked for they would have told me in the beginning. I was so embarrassed by the way my nails looked that i just wanted to get out as fast as possible. I still cannot believe i paid 50$ for something that looks like a 15$ job. Maybe my standards are too high but i would never go back. Service and job 0/5. I would not and have not recommended this salon.

As an out of towner looking for a shellac mani & pedi ONGLES MODS NAILS.I routinely get shellac manis and pedis, and Im generally satisfied, but ONGLES MODS NAILS really raised the bar. This was, by far, one of the best experiences - girls helped me to select the perfect color, offered a complimentary hot stone massage, had great attention to detail and was friendly to boot! She took his time to ensure polish was applied precisely and correctly. I went here with my best friend to have a spa day (April 12, 2019 at 5pm) but the service is very bad for me because they only care about getting many customers and the service is very fast you dont experience a relaxing vibe in here and its very crowded as a first timer to visit the nail salon I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PEDICURE I HAD I KNOW ITS A REASONABLE PRICE BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR I DID NOT EXPERIENCE BEING PAMPERED IN THIS PLACE! Came here for a shellac mani and noticed that my nails are unevenly painted and there are lumps of excess polish. Not the cleanliest place either! There definitely better places out there for about the same price.

I came in during lunch hour for a mani pedi. This was my first visit and I was very happy with their customer service. I was served by 2 ladies simultaneously, one attended to my hands and the other to my feet. they were smiling throughout and seemed really passionate about servicing my hands and feet. I got a foot and hand massage. Following this, they applied my nail colour with extreme care. My nails look great! After my session, they carried my purse, shoes and coat to the drying area. Just as I was about to take off the paper sandals theyve provided, one of the ladies came running to help me. In addition, she wrapped my toenails with a plastic wrapper and put my shoes on for me. Nice!

The customer service was not great for my first time there. There wasnt a rush of people but instead of someone coming to see me and ask about my appointment, I got shouted at from a sitting lady to go sit somewhere -that I didnt understand- I felt clumsy and uncomfortable. The lady that took me wasnt rude per say but she wasnt friendly either. Cold. I went for a gel mani. My nails were nice and long except for 2 that had broken but were still of decent length. She chopped them all off... even though I told her not to. She just did it and said they would grow fast with the gel... Ok but they were already long. She kept pushing for other colors than the ones I wanted so much that I felt shy so I opted for her suggestion but wasnt comfortable with the end result.She did a good job for what it was, she was very good at applying and she was fast. She seemed annoyed when she was done and barely put cream on the second hand and said goodbye. We didnt have a conversation, she had said again that the nails were going to grow to witch I replied that I didnt understand because they were already long. I did not feel listened to nor made comfortable as a first time client. I might go back to see if the second time will be better.Good price, good job but so-so customer service.

I went back, they fixed it (but hey, its a pain to park there! I had a bunch of other things to do than going there again). And the day of my trip, 3 more nails fell off! Like, really?!?!? Now I need to go to have them fixed again! The chances that I go back are very low now. (Suggestion for the salon: Give your customer a free mani or pedi when something like that happens. That way you have less chance of losing a customer!)EDIT: I went back TWICE to fix my nails before my trip and they used their regular machines that time and my shellac gel manicure didnt even last two weeks so I ended up being on my trip with nails that were shipping. Went I went for the 2nd time, the receptionist wasnt even nice. So for all that crappy service, loosing another star PLUS wont go back. Sorry but there ARE better salons out there lol. Not because its on Green avenue that its the best.
