Pretty good. Food was good brisket special was tasty but the peas were not wonderful tasted old and crunchy....

What an amazing place.Good food Vegan options.They only have about twelve indoor tables so come early to eat inside (though there are plenty of tables outside).The food is incredible! Everyone is friendly here. You have two large cases of ready made baked goods and lunch items to go. You also have a list of porridges, both savory and sweet. You have a perfectly curated list of breakfast/brunch plates. I highly suggest the vegan brunch, the mocha almond bread, the banana peanut bread, and the jams!You will definitely love this place.

Great place for a coffee on a cold morning. They do a great breakfast and brunch and you will get your moneys worth. The decor is great and the overall experience is phenomenal. Would highly recommend visiting even just for a cup of coffee.

The arty deco and style definitely triggered me to shoot the photos, as I always hunt the unique arty feature and creative characters of the Cafes during my all kinds of trip. Aro Cafe is the one I would like to sit and enjoy the cafe and the surroundings too.

Absolutely fantastic! I couldnt recommend this cafe more highly.I had the French toast (pics attached) it was cooked well and not too tough or doughy. It was sweet but not too sweet and the selection of fruit made the dish.The coffee was smooth and rich and tasted perfect.I wouldnt suggest coming here if you want a cheap eat but if you want a nice mid range lunch you should definitely give it a try.

If you’re looking for a great breakfast or brunch in Wellington you can’t go wrong with this lovely little cafe. Great service and an interesting menu... I ordered sage fried eggs with mushrooms and chilli spinach. Delicious!

Havent been for a while and I pulled out my coffee card. Despite buying food, they declined to honour my free coffee even though I had been loyal. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my scone and coffee but feel peeved at the attitude of the staff. It was very noisy in there and overall i wont be in a hurry to return.

Disappointed with my bacon and egg butty. Was basically bacon and egg between 2 pieces of bread, was expecting it in a roll like a butty should be.

Ordered scrambled eggs for brunch. Lovely golden eggs and the 5 grain toast on the side was delicious.

Third time I’ve been to Aro Cafe! Absolutely love this place! Amazing, food, drinks, dessert and above all, service!!! The staff here are so lovely and I always leave with a smile on my face! So genuine and down to earth! The prices are perfect for the quality of food and drink you receive :) - also the decor is so perfect!

Best place for the best eggs in my opinion. Beautiful fresh food all day, lovely evening meals and great wine selection. Always a good weekend buzz here. Superb local spot in Aro village only a hop from cuba street

A true hidden gem! Coffee is absolutely amazing plus they roast their own beans: I havent had a bad one yet. Friendly staff and high quality meals (pasta is homemade etc). Very reasonable price for the quality. Take a date to impress ❤️ Try the meatballs.

Nice cafe in Aro valley. Has outdoor seating which is great for watching the world go by with a nice coffee in hand, can be a bit cold but there is good seating inside too if the air is too fresh. Close to the bottom of Polhill reserve if youre into walking or biking.

Very noisy indeed from outside road men ripping up the footpath. Excruciating, and hot chocolate was milkwarm. Only the staff wertr good.

Came for a late lunch and most options were gone. But they baked fresh chicken and leek pies which were delicious. The chocolate cake was expensive but worth it. Good experience for our daughter with toys and a highchair. Worth a stop for a quick lunch.

New owners strike again!Sadly it has gone down hill. Today the cafe opened late and when we finally got inside they left the door open so it was freezing.It always strikes me as strange how you can break something like Aro Cafe that was working so well. All they had to do was “not change anything”....Fingers crossed they turn it around as the location is swell and it’s got a long history for many a Wellingtonian :)Two stars because they did an okay coffee and the guy with the beard was friendly.

Loved this place. Good food and open till late!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the meatballs and spaghetti. You need to ask for it as its not on the menu.

Local. AroCafe roasts their own coffee to a wonderful degree of perfection. Better still the staff really know how to brew it! Food is always fresh and tasty ( hearty portions) and now they just opened in the evenings. Italian style, as a vegetarian Im totally impressed with what they produce for my taste ❤️ and I hear meat lovers are as well. And finally - staff are always pretty much switched on, friendly and interactive in the best way possible.

What a wonderful sense of community there is here. Not a remote cafe but one for being part of ones life. My Scrambled chilli eggs was very nice indeed and despite the busy time of day was served quickly along with my very flavoursome espresso. Friendly attentive and prompt service. A great find.

Always busy when Ive gone, but its worth braving the crowd for the food, which has always been expertly done, delicious, the right balance between unique and familiar flavours, and served by nice staff. They also have highchairs if you ask.

I was visiting wellington for a short holiday and chose this place to eat at because of how convinent it was. However I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and great service. They had a large range of options for meals whether it be breakfast, brunch, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or dessert. Caters to dietary requirements very well, including gluten free, vegetarian. Only reason its not 5 stars is the fact that it was extremely loud which made it difficult to have a conversation with the person across from me and the food took a little longer than expected. But the delicious buttermilk pancakes with tamarillo made up for it. Lovely delicious combinations and at a fairly affordable price. Please support this local cafe with delicious food and drink and friendly staff.

The food is good but a bit greasy and small proportions. However they mix very interesting flavours together and the dishes are tasty and flavoursome!
