Outdoor seating at Indique on a summer night enjoying a glass of cabernet sauvignon with lamb chops watching people walking by with two of my dearest friends. It was a beautiful way to enjoy my last evening. Most menu items are priced under $20 and offer delicious value. I highly recommend you visit Indique...Indique offers unique flavors and exceptional values!
From the curated aesthetics to the dishes rich in presentation and flavor, I was transported to India from the moment I set foot in the space. The owner is very much involved in this restaurant and greets everyone with the same enthusiasm. Beyond him, everyone who worked there was kind, attentive, and ensured that we had the best experience. Their appetizers and various lassis are all amazing and after getting stuffed on them, we left with a bag full of mains to enjoy throughout the week. His son owns βRasaβ - a hip spot in Adamβs Morgan and if his fatherβs culinary talent is any indication, this spot will also become a favorite in time. Thank you ππΎ for giving me a proper Indian experience (coupled with cool uncles and aunties to overhear as we dined) as I live miles away from home.
Im giving a good review on Google. I usually dont but the food was better than many of my favorite places I dine at and Im a foodie. This was ordered through delivery and the food still came out amazingly out of this world. That was the best fish curry Ive ever had. You guys know how to pack complex flavors into all your foods. I ordered multiple things here. The rice quality is about average but below average for an Asian-American. You could improve the rice quality with more attention, love, and care when making the rice. The packages and containers were very clean. Great job
Everything about our experience was exceptional. The food, especially the two soups we began with, was incredible from start to finish. The cocktails were creative and delicious, and every member of the staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. Nothing but good things to say and we will definitely be back!
Just randomly found this spot - literally next to the Metro/Red line in Cleveland Park so super easy to find. I am accustomed to the more traditional Indian places so when I saw the menu, it was a bit confusing.Itβs like Indian βtapasβ - I went on the weekend and they had Sunday brunch. I LOVED every one I tried - just WOW!Super friendly staff and the plates came out super quick.Great service!!!
I had lamb Roghan Josh, which was OK, and onion kulcha which was perfect. Also had the chutney sampler and bhel puri. The lamb wasnt as tender or seasoned as well as my favorite local spot, Amber Spice in Laurel MD. I had high hopes given its Michelin Plates status. The Roghan Josh isnt my go to dish (Lamb Saag which they dont offer) but Im still surprised the lamb wasnt more tender. My Bhel Puri should have come with π tomatoes but I had to add at home from the fridge. The tamarind and cilantro chutneys were tasty with the bhel puri and my tomatoes.Would I recommend or go back? Probably not, Ill keep trying new places to see if the Michelin ratings reveal a winner.
Good service: staff was friendly, polite and quick to serve our orders.Taste/flavor: Average; curries were very low in spice and salt. Breads were tasty though.Appetizers: Bhel puri was not very good at all. Samosa chaat was yummy. Portion sizes are a bit small.Cocktails were interesting and flavorful.
Love the keema nan. Also you canβt go wrong with butter chicken. We were seated next to a very loud group but they were able to move us to another area that is more quiet.
Food was great, service was great. Just disappointed that the restaurant changed the billing statement from the original 20% tip I left to a 40% tip after the fact. Make sure to check your receipts and statements after visiting.
Coming back after almost a year and a half due to covid....was happy to see that the restaurant has maintained their quality. . Started with gin and house tonicspiced with garam masala and followed by tamarind tales. Both were outstanding. Paired with samosa chat and yogurt chat. Had spinach cheese and butter chicken, both were well made , perfectly seasoned, not too spicy. . Good job, Indique, will be back soon.
Great food, quick service! We ate inside because of an oncoming rainstorm, plenty of distance between tables, and we got to see the kitchen hand making the naan. Nice music as well. I would definitely eat here again.
I often take my friends to this place with my highest recommendations. I visit this place often. This recommendation is always successful. The the food there is flavorable and the stuff is welcoming and cooperative. always when we eat in this place we enjoy a splendid evening. highly recommended.
Came here one night I had been avoiding carbs a few about a week and was DYING. I wanted rice and bread! What better place than Indian?!We didnt have to make a reservation for 2 even though they were pretty busy on this Sunday evening. We found front street parking, were seated immediately so I really wanted to be on a roll. Our server was very attentive, nice and helpful with the menu options. We ordered:SamosaBagara BainganLamb RoganjoshGarlic NaanI will say... everything was disappointing. The samosa should have been called Samosa Fiesta because it had minced onions, bell pepper, tomato and shredded cheddar cheese. Yes, you read me right. CHEDDAR cheese. The cheese didnt go with the flavors very well and the samosa was small, and wasnt even in one piece. The Bagara Baingan is not like the traditional Baingan Bharta that I love so much. This was like a peanut curry with baby eggplant - and the eggplants were very bitter and there were 3 total. The peanut curry wasnt very tasty and super bland. The Lamb Roganjosh was alright. The stew was tastier than the Bagara Baingan but so salty. The lamb was very bland and dry.The Garlic Naan was the top contender. But for naan, it was probably the most bland and basic Ive ever had at an Indian restaurant.Even the accompanying rice wasnt prepared well. And was just so bland. Needed a little more salt even.I didnt know what to expect it being my first time but the review definitely made me expect better. This restaurant is by far NOT authentic or traditional. Its overpriced and overrated. There are so many wonderful Indian restaurants in the DMV and this is definitely not one. I wouldnt come back.
This place was amazing! The garlic naan was *incredible*. The entree portions are generously sizeable: I had the Aloo Chole and it was spiced to perfection. My boyfriend had the Paneer Makhani and loved it. The appetizers are great too. The best Indian place Ive been to in DC!
I have been here for brunch and dinner multiple times(Pictures are from a recent brunch)Their service is always good but food can range from 2-5* depending on what you orderI wish they were more consistentSamosa chaat is delicious and so is the cookie butter dosaNot a big fan of their achari preparations
Delicious, excellent quality and management through the years. Frankly, I find this restaurants consistent quality more important than how good a restaurant is when new. Try the Baingan Bhartha. Its very yummy. It is as hot/spicy as you like. So ask for it.The restaurant consists of two floors. There is a distinct cozy bar area on the first floor. Tables can be combined for large parties.
Food is amazing and so fresh. Will definitely come back!!
Whenever my mom comes to town, I always bring her to my favorite restaurant in Cleveland Park, Indique. The service is always prompt and professional and the food is always consistently excellent. My favorite is the Lamb Vindaloo and the Garlic Naan. I would highly recommend you ask for the spicy vindaloo. If you dont mind sweating from your upper lip, its an excellent experience.
We recently dined here, travelled an hour each way before Christmas. It was not crowded as we wanted to avoid due to the Pandemic. Our daughter went for brunch and was raving about this place, as brunch was closed we wanted to try . It was amazing the food was exceptional, the quantity, presentation, twist , decor, warmth was incredible, Manager Sudhir Kumar was very nice and made us feel at home, Must visit. Canβt wait to try their brunch soon when they open in 2021.
Food was good but overpriced!
Great food, great drinks and great service. The chaat was fantastic and dishes were all top notch. Cant wait to come back to try the brunch.
The atmosphere is great and the food was fresh and amazing.
The food is DELICIOUS and FRESH with great service.
We came to this place for a meeting. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was very successful. the crew were so friendly and we felt excellent. The meal was fresh and delicious. We had a great time and we will visit this place again. Keep it up.
Great Indian food and ambience.
Very nice decor and setting. Food had great presentation and was good. Staff was attentive and very covid safe/mindful
Dinner was amazing. Drinks were ok. The service was perfect. Wish this place well during these BS covid times.
Indique has special food and people. The manager, Sudhir Kamar, is an exceedingly kind person who helped our family thoughtfully plan a COVID-safe rehearsal dinner. As you guessed from the name, this restaurant has a unique take on Indian food, which feels authentic and also modern. Highly recommend dining here, doing takeout, or planning an event.
The dal and curry chana and roti are very good.
At 5 pm, I ordered takeout tonight from Indiques website. Scheduled pickup for 6 pm. At 5:30, I got an email saying our order was ready. We picked up the order at 6 and confirmed that the order was sitting there for half an hour. The staff was not very apologetic. Doubt well order again any time soon.
Absolutely delicious and delightful food & service. Great neighborhood gem!
I meet with friends this nice place quite a bit! This is my favorite place to pass a nice evening. I go to this spot at least once a month. The food is great, the team is courteous and the charge is good. I like meeting in this place to have a rich supper.
By far the best curry I have ever had in my life. While the dishes may appear small in pictures, the food is very filling. I asked for my vindaloo to be extremely spicy and the chef did not hold back. Will definitely come back for more!
Iβve been eating here regularly for a couple years, and it is simply the best Indian food in DC. Absolutely fantastic cooking. Both modern takes on traditional dishes and the absolute classics. I highly highly recommend Indique!!
We had an awesome in this spot. We loved the nice vibes and the food. The staff members are very affable. Iβm content we ultimately decided to visit here.
I celebrated my graduation yesterday in this delicious restaurant. Well we enjoyed a awesome evening and the venue was certainly the reason for that happy evening. The stuff participated in a gorgeous style, the cuisine was great and my friends were extremely delighted. We shall no dout return for more events. Thank you very much.
Upscale neighborhood Indian restaurant. The artwork and atmosphere inside the restaurant transport you to another country. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional food plus special dishes from the chefs hometown. Everything our group ate was delicious. The staff was attentive and offered wonderful suggestions on the menu. Its good for groups, but the upstairs balcony tables for two offer some of the most romantic dining spots in Northwest Washington.
This place is the best Indian restaurant in DC and the staff are great!
This is one of my favorite brunch spots in the city. Indique offers a bottomless (and delicious) small plate food program at decent price. For a little more $, bottomless cocktails can be included in the deal. The food comes out when ready so sharing is practical. My advise is to take is slow, ask for recommendations and dont over order. Oh, and try the cookie butter dosa.
Just ordered from here. Got the tandoori chicken .. omg. This food is amazing and the sauces are great! To be honest this is one of the best spots for Indian food. Gluten free friendly for those of us with allergies.
This spot is worth trying. They have large portions for affordable rates. Constantly well organized and with great mood. Will come back again.
Amazing brunch!!! We went for the unlimited brunch plates, which is definitely the best option. There are SO MANY delicious small plates to choose from, we almost ordered one of everything. Every single dish was extremely delicious and an interesting twist on an Indian classic. I loved everything I ate here!
The food was delicious and our server was great! He was so thoughtful and attentive.
Fast but high quality especially when youβre not 100% sober. Great little place that fits nicely within the neighborhood. Have dined in and had takeout from here and it never disappoints. Definitely not an upscale spot but if youβre looking for good food youβve come to the right spot.
Im impressed with the presentation of the dishes here at Indique. Come for the weekend brunch special. All you can eat for only $25 per person, but its not a buffet. Instead, each plate you order is served in an exquisite and impeccable presentation which is a delight for your tongue as much as it is for your eyes. Would definitely come here again.
Food was good, service was pretty good too until all the wait staff started ignoring us half way through the meal. Is this your not-so-subtle way of pushing people out before we eat enough to break even with the brunch price? Bit difficult to enjoy an unlimited brunch when no one will take your order.
Always a fun place for a tasty meal. Great Cleveland Park location, next to Metro. Food is all the Indian classics you would expect but often served in an innovative way. Good drinks. Excellent brunch worth spending some time at but make a reservation in advance.
They said they have happy hour for cocktails advertised in the website and board outside the restaurant. However, we realized when we got home that they charged us full price. Also, quantity of food is really small
Exceptional and delicious food, I loved the vibes the place has, and the employees were very nice. Will definitely visit here when Iβm around.
Awsome experience of fusion Indian food. Never ever could I imagined that kind of awesomeness can be done with Indian fusion. Tastes lovely n delicious. Each and every dish is unique in taste and full of beautiful fusion unique flavours. Surprised to see even the ice cream, never have I thought there could be a mustard ice cream with such mouth watering taste. The ambiance is nice and the service is good too. The price is a bit on the higher side but trust me itβs worth every penny you spend. I had the opportunity to try out 2 appetizers, 4 different main courses and 3 different ice cream flavours. Everything was super duper good and felt like eating more and more.
Excellent food with lots of options for people with dietary restrictions. Beautiful ambience with indoor & outdoor, tables and bar seating available. The Cabernet was quite good.
Excellent food. Top notch staff. 50 feet from the Metro. This isnt standard Indian food. Its Indian food with a modern twist and a bit of flair. Prices were reasonable for what you get and where you get it.
This place is so pretty and the food is delicious. Everyone on staff is so friendly and polite. I hope to make coming here a tradition.
Tapas style Indian cuisine, well labeled gluten free options and many of them. Lovely two floor layout, excellent service. We were there for brunch, so I expect the dinner menu might be a little different. Every thing we ordered was delicious. Highly recommemd.
Wow oh wowThis place is amazing. The service is spectacular and the food simply amazing. A wonderful place for a date night.
The BEST spot in the DMV for hair. Iβve been shopping here for over four years. Diamond helped me find exactly what I needed.
This is my go to Indian restaurant in the area!Iβve only had great experiences here.Itβs good for large parties or just a couple on a date. Theyβll accommodate whatever you need. The cauliflower chili fries are definite must have item. The chicken tikka masala is a safe option. It taste great and the portion is more than enough food!
Delicious, well- crafted, unique variety of brunch dishes. Perfect to share with a group of friends, quick attentive service, and a very reasonable bottomless price of food and drinks. Reset my brunch standard and will be a favorite for each DC visit!
Attentive service and great food! The decor and artwork is lovely. This is a hidden find, very unassuming from the street but definitely worth a trip.
This place is great! Has great brunch food with little plates and lots of good options! Their brunch special is dangerous, you wont want to stop eating lol. Great presentation and amazing food. The place will get crowded, so service can be a bit slow but that doesnt warrant a bad rating just because they are popular. Try eating earlier during the day and it should be less waiting. Great place!!
This place is awesome!! One of my go to spots for brunch - the food is always great and the drinks are poured perfectly (mimosas are always on point and your glass is never empty if you go bottomless). The brunch menu is bottomless and has a wide range of different plates to try and you wont be disappointed by any of them. Every dish has a unique flavour you wont find any where else. The owners are always involved and take time walking around to check on every table (which has always been a sign of a great restaurant in my experience). Cant recommend this place enough, go now!
We went for bottomless brunch and were very happy about the service/ quality of drinks. Food was above average however it did not stand out as amazing. It may have been the fact that it was endless. However I would recommend this place to anyone. Great deal!
Indique is great. I highly recommend it to any one looking for a good time and good food. Its a busy place, and for good reason, so I recommend making reservations. While my party and I waited for our table we sat at the bar and tried a couple of their house cocktails and appetizers. The drinks were delicious not too sweet and not too strong. The Shrimp Puchka Shots were a fun tasty treat. When our table was ready we easily transferred our orders upstairs. Despite a very busy kitchen our food came out in a timely fashion and the orders were all correct. Everything was delicious. My favorite was cauliflower chili fry. When you go you have to get an order. The overall experience was great. The restaurant has a great vibe. Great place to take your family, host a dinner party, or stop for a couple of drinks. Another bonus to Indique is that its super accessible. They are right off the Cleveland Park metro.Try Indique you wont regret it!
One of the best brunches in DC, delicious, aromatic, creative Indian brunch dishes - unlimited food for $25 and bottomless drinks for an additional $12. Absolutely worth a visit. The cookie butter dosa is a personal recommendation - solid way to end your meal.
Several outstanding dishes, and some that didnt quite hit the mark. Went for brunch and the place wasnt a very crowded. The service is where things got... weird. Everyone was polite and attentive, but the manager (I presume) seemed to be hovering over his waitstaff in an almost uncomfortable way. Like they were scared to make a mistake so kept smiles plastered to their face. Would try again, as this may have been an off day.
Indique is one of those restaurants that exceeds expectations for any type of event. Whether its a family dinner or a date night out, this place will impress. The food and custom cocktails are both imaginative and comforting. There are a lot of familiar tastes along with some outside the box thinking that leaves a ton of options for everyone. I highly recommend it.
Indique is absolutely the best Indian food in the DC area. If you add that to the decor and service, its one of my favorite spots for a group friends or a date.Heres a tip: go for the outdoor seating on the balcony if you can get it. On a nice night its a beautiful way to find!
Two words-food coma! Interesting fusion Indian food.Very authentic flavors.. definitely new favorite! Service is quick too.
One of the best Indian places Ive been to! Having eaten my share of Indian food, I am always a little bit more skeptical trying out new Indian places but Indique does not compromise on any of the unique flavors of authentic Indian food while combining it with their own authentic touches to make every dish delicious. The service and ambiance add to the experience. The managers and ownership are always around to make the dining experience a pleasant one.Highly recommend!!
A lot spicy, claiming to be Indian food. But the Kerala foods are not spicy like this and actual kerala foods are lot much tastier and less spicy
Sloooooooooow!!! The service is the absolute worst! I literally had to call the restaurant to ask my waiter to come back to the table, to refill my drinks. The food is decent but prepare to wait for food and drinks. Dont order bottomless drinks. I was only able to order 2. Wont come back
Amazing food and very friendly staff.I have been here twice now, the second being today for brunch. We were a group of 12, and had bottomless brunch. The drinks are great: do try the rum mango lassi!Reservations are recommended.
Food was awseome, we got samosas and the lamb pot pie. The manager was very kind and generous. Had a wonderful time here.
Great food, drinks and service!
Amazing food. Good service. High class.
Great dinner. Real Indian food. Lovely place. Nice people.
Great food and fantastic service. Our waitress was delightful! Our food was running late because a large party ordered at the same time. Our waitress gave us a free appetizer without us saying a thing.
The all you can eat/drink brunch was incredible! The food is delicious and service was great.
Went on Valentines day, the prix fixe menu was so good. I chose seafood options my girlfriend chose veg options, everything was packed with flavor and SO DELICIOUS! Service was perfect, great experience.
Good food. Great service. Some dishes could use stronger flavors.
Went here for brunch and it was awesome! $20 for all you can eat dishes which are delicious and very unique. For a little more you can add all you can drink. Overall great experience and location (right outside from cleavland park metro). Highly recommend!!
Absolutely amazing restaurant, one of the best Indian food Ive ever tried!A great service and ambiance are just adding to the fabulous experience. Definitely planning on visiting this place many more times. Highly recommend!
The all-you-can-eat-in-2-hours Sunday Brunch special is amazing. For an extra fee, you can drink as much as you want as well, and when I say drink, I do mean alcohol. However, be prepared to try new things here. You wont find any American classics on this menu.
Very attentive staff and great vegan options
I would rate it zero if possible, with worst of the service. The food is served after waiting for 40 minutes, you have to let them know that they have to provide dinner plates to be able to eat and then the bill has the added gratuity of 20% and further they expect you to tip them on top of that. Having said the taste of the food is no way Indian.
Came in for the brunch last Sunday, and so happy we decided to give it a try. Bottomless drinks and Indian brunch...yes, please! Dishes + drinks (mimosas) were delicious, and it was really affordable too. Will definitely be coming back here again with friends soon.
I would go here every day if I could. The food is spectacular and they have some great house cocktails. It also has a nice atmosphere.
I absolutely adore Indian food, and this is my absolute go-to spot in the city. One of the few places that has authentic Indian cooking, and they do a really neat combo of dishes from both North and South India, as well as some dishes you dont usually see at Indian restaurants. My favorites are the Masala Grilled Cod, and the Veggie Samosa. Oh, and the Mango Flan for dessert is bomb.Love the cozy little bar area, and would recommend grabbing a table in there. Bottom line - If youre looking for an awesome Indian meal at a reasonable price, Indique is the move.
Unlimited food and drinks is the right move for brunch. I like that there are multiple drinks at brunch, the rum lassi is quite good and their Mary has a good kick.
Nice place and good food.. not many choices in the menu if you are looking for authentic Indian food. Serving size is pretty less.. service is a little slow. They do not have good drinks menu and quantity of a single drink is also less.
Great service! Host very generously replaced a dish we didnβt love initially, and it was much better after. Otherwise, the kulcha with pecorino and masala veggie burger were standouts on the menu. Will be back.
I dont usually write reviews, but we loved this place. The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the shrimp puchka shots, but everything was great!
