Typical order at the cashier and wait for your food to be brought to the counter bbq place. It very tasty BBQ but I’m not sure if the AC was too strong or the food just wasn’t that warm.If the food could have been warmer it would have earned a solid 4 stars. The selection of sauces at the tables was really really good. Sweet, Smokey, bitter and even a little spicy bbq sauces.We had the pork, brisket, chicken, Mac n cheese, and various sides. The pork was delicious, nice and tender, juicy. The brisket had a good smoke ring around it. It was soft and juicy, I had them leave a little of the fat to really get the flavor. The sides were good, but not great, the corn bread was hard and the Mac n cheese was a little light on flavor.We plan on coming back, maybe doing do some take out and try to warm it up at home. Again, I think it’s a four star BBQ place but the food was just too cold.
Ive had fairly large carryout orders from here every few months for the past several years, weve purchased the holiday prime rib, and have had catering for about 100 people. The food has been great every time, and staff is always professional and courteous. Were definitely going to keep coming back; I hope this place does really well and is around for a long time.
UPDATE:I just visited this location again today after having received a phone call from Mission BBQ leadership apologizing for my experience. I ordered almost the same exact meal and did not mention anything about my previous review. This time I got about 3x more food! The meat alone was a significantly larger portion than before. It was all delicious. I hope my experience from original review was just an isolated incident. I definitely plan on coming back for some more BBQ!ORIGINAL REVIEW:My daughter and I have come here a few times now and usually it is very good. As a US Navy Veteran myself, I definitely appreciate the atmosphere. I even considered bringing in some my old uniform patches and challenge coins to donate for decorations.However, the last time we went was very bad. This picture was my $13 plate of food. My daughters kids meal had more food than mine. I understand portion control and the need to ensure consistency, but this is crazy. I was done in about 5 bites. I would have brought it up to the manager at the time, but it was insanely busy and I didnt want to be the one to hold everyone else up due to my dissatisfaction.Before this visit, I would have given 5 stars. This last visit was very disappointing.
Food is always on point, customer service is always top notch and the place is always clean. Not to mention their over all mission is perfection! Quick Tip: spend the little extra for the bigger cup! It helps!!
Very good bbq. $20 got me more food than I could eat. Chicken and ribs were very good. You also have 6 different sauces to try. This place honors, celebrates and supports our veterans, active duty and first responders. If you are going to support a company with your hard earned money, better to support a company with some AMERICAN principals then these woke anti-america corporations. 🍗🍖🇺🇸

Mission BBQ, I am totally impressed with this location in Northville, MI. Great tasting BBQ and hands down much higher quality eatery than my Dickies experiences. Excellent service in a unique environment. They have also given millions of dollars to military family and veterans organizations and even offer discounts to active duty and veterans. Gotta check this place out. I intend to come back after my first visit today!
Good food at a fair price. The regular combo will leave you full, but not uncomforable. Well run restaurant.

Only been once but had great service and delicious pulled chicken. It was super tender, moist, and well seasoned. Like a great BBQ place the meat is served plain and you can choose your sauce from six different flavors. We had fries and potato salad as sides, they were both good and fresh.
I love the theme - military/police - feels good to eat in a place that supports freedom & patriotism! The BBQ pork was excellent even without the tasty sauce! I opted for green beans & baked beans. Came with corn bread. Thanks for letting me fill my own cup at the soda fountain - feels good to stop the ridiculousness. The workers were great, too!And thanks for your Service - GO NAVY
I love this place. The theme, the food and the staff. The workers have always been very nice and patient even when I take my time deciding. I cant think of anything to improve. The food is really good. Im a Barbeque lover and the brisket is delicious. The sides very good as well. I love the green beans but do have a little spice to them which I like. Yesterday I stopped by just to get some barbecue sauces for a small get together I was attending. One of my favorites are smoky mountain my friend loves the st Louis red. Paired with a meat you cant go wrong. If you love barbecue I highly recommend this place.
Usually not a fan of anything turkey, they do it well. The moist brisket is spot on. Testing the sauces is fun.Im not really the nationalist type, but its not forced.The food is great, reasonably priced.

Came highly recommended. Food was delicious, they gave lots of sauces and even a free little cherry cheesecake! They were super pleasant and helpful. All by the cornbread is gluten free and thats really appreciated. My only gripe is the amount of fries I got. Disappointed that for this much food I got about one serving of fries.
Had Mission cater my daughters 1st birthday party at our home this past weekend. The food was INCREDIBLE. Scheduling was pretty easy, and it was delivered on time with plenty of extra nice touches like plates, wrapped silverware, etc. Would love to have them cater again sometime. Everything was delicious!
Did not realize this was kind of a fast food place where you order at the counter and pick up your own food when its ready. The food was good and the service was fast. The decor with all the service patches and statements about serving brought a tear or two.

Good but not great. We tried here on a recommendation from a friend. We got brisket, and while it was good, it just didnt hit out the park like we were anticipating. The sauces were okay. The corn was dry and over seasoned. My wife was not a fan of the and mac and cheese. Im not normally one to complain but it just wasnt what were expecting.

I have to say not only is the food great, but the customer service is exceptional! We recently placed a large carryout order -- I had ordered online which was super easy to do, and my husband picked it up. When he got home, I realized they didnt include the gallon of sweet tea I ordered. I called up there right away and they immediately put me on with the manager who apologized sincerely, took it off our credit card since I wasnt up for driving back out there and called me to confirm it had been processed after. After unpacking the rest of our food, I noticed a couple of other small things that were missed. When the manager called to confirm he had removed the tea off of our bill, I informed him just as a courtesy so that they could make sure other things were missed for other people. He again sincerely apologized and went above and beyond to make things right. That is top notch customer service. The food was wonderful -- and I totally respect people who do business this way. We are all human - mistakes will always be made - things will be missed - but kindness and understanding goes a long way. We will definitely be returning to Mission BBQ. We had ordered a variety of BBQ items, but the pulled pork was my favorite! Keep up the great work!!

Im a relatively new customer and each time Ive eaten there the food has been great except the last couple of times. Someone needs to take the Salt away from whomever is mixing your rubs and flavorings for the greens and beans. Almost to salty to eat!!!

The staff was excellent.I got the meat market two meats pulled pork and I had the chop brisket with baked beans and fries.Pulled pork was dried out the brisket was tough both meats were cold and so were the fries.This is my first visit to this establishment I will definitely give it another try.I know Mission barbecue is an excellent place to eat I eat at the one in my hometown weekly.
As a veteran, found this place to be a treasure and food & service were excellent. Dont live in area, but will definitely visit location closer to home (VA)

I love it it’s always good I usually get the 2 meat platter and I get pulled chicken and pork. It’s really good! I also love the 6 bbq sauces they have my favorite is smoky mountain. All in all if your looking for a good meal come here, you won’t regret it.
Food was good and the one staff member seemed friendly; the others did not. It was rather uncomfortable being there since I was the only person of color in the restaurant and the other patrons kept looking at me like I was from outer space lol. I’d definitely eat food there again, but I’d order and take it to go.

I’ve been to a growing number of BBQ places around the metro Detroit area and Mission BBQ is the perfect combination of quality and value, without the high prices found at more higher end places. A perfect place for both carry out and dine in. Service is excellent and shows in the quality of their employees. One of the few chain restaurants that maintains a community atmosphere.High points are the brisket, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, and the peach cobbler!
The food is delicious. I didnt care for the green beans, but the greens, potato salad, and baked beans, ribs, and brisket are consistently delicious!
Overall great food gotta get there pretty early they run out of ribs quickly also got carryout but didnt double check before leaving ordered pulled pork sandwich with slaw on it and green beans and mac and cheese they gave me pulled pork only not a sandwich just pulled pork so if you get carry out double check your order.

The smell when you walk in 🤤🥰🤤 Oh. My. Goodness. The food is ALWAYS AMAZING!! My husband & I enjoyed the beef brisket, pulled pork, turkey, mac & cheese, collard greens. They usually feature one dessert (currently its peach cobbler). Its nice being surrounded by military memorabilia & browsing while your food is being prepared. The wait isnt too long. Every day they say the Pledge of Allegiance @ noon. Chances are the staff present will be veterans or first responders. Please dont forget to thank them for their service.
We ordered carryout for 7 people yesterday, and 5 of us have had digestive issues to put it kindly. 3 of which were forced to stay home from work/school today. Its unfortunate because its the last day of school and our 13 year old wont get to see his classmates before summer break begins. This was our second carry out from Mission, but the first time weve experienced this issue. 50% failure rate is more than we care to bear, and will not be back. Food tasted and looked good, but something was obviously not right.

The staff was very friendly and helpful since it was our first visit. We had high hopes but were disappointed. The pulled pork sandwich was extremely dry and the juicy lucy burger was also extremely dry. It was almost like the left over meat from Sunday warmed in a roaster. The sides were ok but nothing we havent had better at other bbq places.

My husband greatly recommended me this place after having it 2 years ago.... It was my first time tonight and it was not great at all. I ordered pulled pork sandwich and it was so cold. We were fortunate enough to have someone replace our cold pulled pork to warm; not hot but it was warm. The corn bread was dry.....the pulled pork was so salty that I didnt taste the seasoning, the table and sauce containers were all dirty and sticky.My husband even mentioned that it wasnt as good as he remembered it like last time.Im giving it 2 stars because Brianna was very friendly.

Always fun trying to decide which is the best.The staff is great as well, all super friendly. In particular Marissa was fantastic. When we said it was our first time there, she explained how the restaurant works and made great recommendations.Finally, it is fantastic to support a place that stands behind our veterans and our law enforcement!

This is was by far one of our best dining experiences! Marisa welcomed us and was more than happy to explain how the menu worked! She was incredibly kind to my 7 year old daughter that hasn’t dined in a restaurant since the pandemic started. She made her day! This pace came highly recommended. Being out of state we looked for good local restaurants so we gave this pace a try. First thing we notice when walked in was the smokey and meaty smell. They staffs were super helpful. They will let you sample anything to help you decide what to order.We tried the basic selections of brisket, pull pork, pull chicken and bbb ribs. The brisket was super tender and smokey. The pull pork was slightly dry but the pulled chicken was surprisingly tender. And the bbb ribs were juicy .The sauces are fantastic addition to the deciduous meats.So good we went there again the next day.

First off as a veteran I love that they have veteran parking. Second off the food was amazing and the service was fantastic. My friend who is a marine brought his service dog inside and they didnt say anything at all. Makes me feel welcome to bring mine next time. I highly recommend this place.

Great friendly service and the food is consistently good. Their desserts are always tasty and the portions are large. We typically order by phone with food ready for pickup in 10 minutes. We eat here at least once a week. Highly recommend over other “Famous” BBQ places.
They have some of the best BBQ around. Portion sizes are good, as are prices. We love the different flavor sauces and recommend the moist brisket and pulled pork. Wait time is minimal and their coleslaw is really good. If you are on a Keto diet, you’ll get a good meal here.

A Good Experience! Typical fast casual dining like Panda Express and Chipotle only with BBQ. I tried the salmon this time, it had a nice smoky flavor, not fishy. Still, its a must to put sauce on it (part of the experience and fun is to explore and experiment with mixing the sauces). My sides were the smashed potatoes and green beans. The beans are my favorite! I did miss the local sauce selection. The location in Brandon, Florida has a (Florida) state sauce I really liked. I tried the chocolate brownie this time. I will give that a thumbs up as well.
The BBQ here is delicious, sampler is perfect if its your first time. The only suggestion I would make is dont get the lean, its a little dry. You get to choose from 7 different BBQ sauces that are on each table. Get a hometown heroes cup for $2 extra, this money is given to local police and firefighters!!
A friend told me that Mission BBQ is giving away free food to active duty and veterans all week. I went over got a free sandwich. Thank you guys at Mission BBQ. I showed my ID to the girl who came to my car to give me the sandwich and she said she doesnt need to and thank me for the service. A month ago a person told me that being a part of the US military I support killing of people across the world I was dumbfounded and then there are people like you guys who appreciate the US military- a global force for good.I AM A UNITED STATES SAILORI WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. OMG!!! I cant say enough. The food and service was awesome. I purchased the catering package (3 meat 3 sides split sliders and cornbread...3 bbq sauces) of a small gathering for my daughters Sweet 16th Birthday and it was the perfect component to the event. EVERYONE thought the food was amazing, and it even came with serving utensils and a table cloth. Everything was packed in a little neat Mission BBQ box. 💓I loved it, and will definitely booked them for my next event.

Will and his team were fantastic! They were polite and happy to be at work. Even over the phone their customer service was phenomenal. The ribs were smoked perfectly and fell right off the bone.
