I’ve been cycling for decades but recently booked a bike fit session after a recommendation from other cyclists in the Wakefield Group. Whilst I’d been getting a lot right before, there were several important tweaks made that resulted in immediate gains in comfort, which will reduce pain and joint wear. Great experience. I discovered lots and the process was well worth it.

Great service by all the staff. They are always very helpful if my son has an issue with his bike. Would definitely recommend if anyone is looking for an independent cycle store.

Would like to say massive thank you to Dan and team for sorting my bike out in these difficult times 😉 if anyone is looking for a bike these days you know its hard to get your hands on the right model and right size. Great communication, good banter and everything sorted and ready as promised. Shop keeps in touch with customer via email and phone informing about status of the bike ordered. When came to collect, everything was ready with last checks to make sure its set up for my size. You also get aftercare included to make sure that bike stays in great shape after been used few times and might need some tweaks. Thank you again and will definitely be going back for an upgrade in future.

Took my trek bike here, was made to feel very uncomfortable like it was a heap of junk. Left my bike with the owner and asked him to do the following things, true my back wheel, service my front forks and put new seals on, and look at the headset because there was movement, I got told it would be at least 2 weeks. Two weeks later I rang up for an update to be told that the staff had no idea what to do with it, all they could make out is something to do with the rear seal! So I re-explained what needed doing to the staff he got on it immediately, I had to kept ringing to be updated .. wile trueing my back wheel they have some how smashed it! I had to buy a new rim! So a month later I got my bike back, costing me £200 all together. While having my bike some how my rear shock has been destroyed they except no blame for this!

These guys are great, knowledgeable and very helpful. Also with reasonable prices and right advices and tips they helped me to keep my expenses on repairs low which is very appreciated in current difficult times.Highly recommended.Many thanks.

Dan and his team are fantastic. Having worked in the cycle tour industry for over a decade, I can honestly say they are head and shoulders above the rest. Always cheerful, always willing, nothing is too much trouble for them, despite them being under tremendous pressure with the upturn in cycling since Covid hit. They know their stuff, they only fix what needs to be fixed and they will give good honest advice of what needs to happen in the future to keep things turning smoothly. My 3rd visit, all exemplary. Phoned to request a stubborn bottom bracket removal. Was able to take my bike the same day and had the bracket removed while I waited. Also got my derailleur hanger aligned and rethreaded. Was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Tidy, clean, efficient, friendly and very reasonably priced. Couldnt ask for more, thanks guys.

Absolutely over the moon with my bike buying experience at Cycle Technology. I have ended up with the perfect bike for me, and first class service throughout. Dan spent quality time with me on a unique bike fit, including saddle fit and change in handlebar width, and also turbo and training tips, which I really appreciated. All the tweaks were made by the guys in the shop while I waited, and I took home a bike that has been an absolute dream to ride. It has just had its first service back at Cycle Technology and rides like new, and Im still just as buzzing about my purchase. Love my bike and love this shop. Took my Orange clockwork evo to get new hanger fitted - great service & thanks to Andy for sorting.

Dont take your bike here took mine in 6 weeks ago with a snapped spoke. He gave me a load of BS about needing a new wheel. Lost my rotor and tried giving me an old one that didnt fit. All in all ended up costing me £380 for a new wheel and rotor he also kept the wheel he was supposed to be replacing through warranty and threw my bike onto the street ended up taking my bike elsewhere to get fixed the same day.

Horrible customer service from one member of staff, however his manager did greet me when I entered but he wasnt in any uniform and wore a hoodie so I couldnt identify him clearly as I thought he was another customer.The airhead of a assistant Im complaining about, stared at his phone doing nothing while I waited at the counter for help.Until his manager saw I had been waiting and told him to serve me, he continued to ignore me and his job, which made me feel excluded and unappreciated as a customer.He reluctantly got up and after asking him to show me what ebikes he had to offer and any information on them. He told that they sold e bikes and not escooters. Told me nothing about the bikes, nothing about price or specifications. Didnt bother to help me with my questions or purchase at all.I was ready to buy a ebike that day and because of this member of staffs coordination, I left feeling disappointed, frustrated and dishearten, that I got no information and with nothing to leave with. That young lad lost you a expensive sale.

The guys here are all genuine and care about what they do. No pressure sale persons when looking for a bike, but will give total professional advice when the customer may have seen the right bike.Iv been down to the shop a few times and then they are all personal level and welcoming.Iv asked for advice about bike maintenance, and to the point they’ve given small practical lessons.Again really genuine. Ordered a part online which was shown in stock but at supplier with delivery 2-4 days. 8 days later still not received and no update. I rang the shop and spoke to Neil. His attitude was pretty appalling, didnt know when he would receive it from the supplier, didnt offer to chase it up and clearly couldnt be bothered. The only part of the customer service that was any good was the prompt refund when I asked to cancel the order to source elsewhere. First time Ive ordered from this shop and will be the last

Dan and his team are always great they are knowledgeable and always give good sound advice rather than trying to sell you the most expensive thing. They are interested in what they do and are will try to keep you on the road and cycling even in the difficult times of a national pandemic. Called in on the off chance they could help me with a chain problem. The mechanic was very helpful and looked at my bike more or less straight away. In the end he was unable to sort the problem due to part not been available but he must have spent more than half an hour trying to resolve it. I was not charged for there time. I was very impressed with there professionalism and will be returning.

Took my bike here for a service which took him 4 weeks. When I eventually got it back the front brake was making a scraping sound out on a ride took it to another bike shop and the pads he used were cheap chinese junk that disintegrated in the wet after only a few miles. Will not be using cycle technology again

Great service! Called in after a snapped cable left me in singlespeed mode(!) and needed to get back on the road asap (I’m not local but work in Wakefield regularly).Despite a full workshop they made room for me and installed new cable/indexed while I waited.Just what you need in a local bike shop, will definitely be back again.

Neil stopped what he was doing to help me when I walked in with my poorly Pashley. Fixed my snapped brake whilst I waited and got me back on my cycle challenge for September! Halfords were useless, wish Id just gone straight to Cycle Challenge in the first place. 5 out of 5 from me. Thank you!

A really great all round experience. After first visit walked away as felt Dan was trying to sell me a Trek!! - having been to other shops in Wakefield and Leeds we returned realising that he and his team DO know what they are talking about and worth listening to. Sorted my wife out with a good Trek cycle and have given a lot of help re my bike and things to do (at low cost) to improve. Will keep using and suggest you pay them a visit.

Drawn in by smooth sell and got cycle scheme bike here, initially no complaints. After approx 6 months went for a service/repair after being promised a £30 charge instead of £40. Ended up with surprise £170 bill when I came to collect (that was due to a manufacturers faulty structural part according to assistant) Dan claimed I had not cleaned the bike properly!I felt obliged to pay in order to get my bike back but would not go back and advise avoiding at all cost. Youre made to feel looked after and valued at first then screwed over when the opportunity presents itself.

Just purchased a new Trek Powerfly 5 from the guys at Cycle Tech Wakefield I got a very good deal all the guys are very helpful and friendly👍Went out for the first time on a 10 mile ride it was a very cold day but I was well impressed with the bike it handles great and the riding position was comfortable no backache and the handlebar grips really comfortable it has lost of power on the hills and the EMTB mode is brilliant when I return home the battery was still showing 5 bars on the Display and it was so easy to clean as all brake lines and wires are in side the frame I can highly recommend this bike to the over 60s as I’m 67 years old and 5’6”in high and my bike is a 17.5 Frame with 29”wheels it’s perfect for me well done Trek and Bosh it’s lots of fun 🚴‍♂️💨👍

Dan and Neil provide a superb service, with indepth industry knowledge, and will give expert advice whenever it is asked of. The prices are good, the product range is massive, and other than parking its easy to get to.

Took my bike in a few months back after a road traffic incident. I only needed a repairs quote for insurance purpose. they didnt charge me a penny! I will certainly buy from here in the future. Spot on in every respect.
