This park is pretty standard as far as parks go. Its set a bit back from a river bank. It has a super fun splash pad that has buttons you push that run on timers. The splash pad offers a nice cool down after working out. Its fun for the whole family because there are firepits and pretty nice public restrooms to be found there as well. You can walk, run, bike, etc. On the trails and spend a nice day at Cameron Park. On the trail youll find cute statues of animals you can stop and take photos with.
Over the last few years a great thing has happened in our local Parks. Especially Cameron Park. The park is almost always clean of trash and debris. I can always tell that the staff goes the extra mile in keeping the park clean. Thus making a better experience for the hikers. Or children that play anywhere on park grounds. Thank you Cameron Park staff!! A big kudos to you
Nice park in the heart of downtown Waco. Good sized, although stretched kind of thin as it rums along the hanks of a couple of rivers. Still, plenty of walking and hiking trails. Good for mountain biking, and I saw a couple people riding horses there. I have no idea what regulations apply. Its a day use park, I didnt see any signs of camping.
We loved it! It was a beautiful day but the trails we hiked were fun for the whole family! Id love to come back with a Mt. bike to try full-tilt, Thor, and Babbler alone with going over and through the rocks by the river! The bathroom was pretty good for a park too. The girls loved the misting posts at the playground.
Enjoy visiting and taking my grandchildren. Has a kids park and water park. My only concern is the birds under the bridge where you park and their droppings. Also people allow their dogs to GO in the area ( dont scoop) which is for kids and also disturbing
Held our family reunion at the Redwood Shelter. Everyone had so much fun and really enjoyed hosting it outdoors this year. The weather couldnt have been more perfect! Definitely recommend renting/reserving this place with the city for your family events.
Park is bigger than it appears. Lots of great trails to hike or mountain bike.Theres a splash park for the kids. Lots of picnic areas along the river.Theres disc golf course for those into that.I like doing a family and friends bike ride from the marina section of the park all the way to the downtown and have a lunch break and then ride back.
Cool place in waco definitely something to see while in waco. The cliff is pretty cool. Seemed like the place to be and some/most looking for extra curricular activity. Everything from young and hot to men in their prime to the inevitable trolls. Very large park along the river and on the cliffs. Lots of cool things to see and do plenty of spots for picnics and bbqs lovely park right in the city of waco.
Loved Cameron park! Very scenic trails and not just flat walking, felt like actual hiking! The trail system is a little tricky and could be a bit better marked, ended up going in a circle twice on the hike. The trails we were on were all shaded. But theres many different aspects to the park we didnt get to. Will go back!
Beautiful park! The river is right there. It looked well kept and maintained.
Tons to do for all ages. If you want to walk, bike, play they have it all. Plenty of big shade trees to sit under as well. Restrooms and covered picnic areas available.
We didnt get to spend a lot of time at this park, but can easily see how a full day could be spent here. Lots of hiking trails, beautiful views of the river, and the roads and structures are all very nice. We had a picnic lunch here, and enjoyed a walk in the woods, amongst trees and bamboo. We are looking forward to coming back, so we can explore even more!
Such a nature gift to Wacoans, well kept, clean and family friendly, bathrooms always open and grass is always mowed
Incredibly diverse park that gives park-goers many unique landscapes and experiences. Simply a joy to follow the river trail or immerse oneself in one of the dozens of other winding, forested trails. Pay careful attention to trail names and colors as many trails offer moderate to heavy difficulty. Many other opportunities to bike, walk, or ride the trails or boat, kayak, or fish the rivers. There are several scenic points and rest areas as well as a playground, splashground, and small zoo.
There are so many trails and the wooded roads a very pleasant drive. There is a play area and splash pad.Lots and lots and lots of park. The Zoo is essentially there too.
Grew up there, always great things to do with the family
The trails are great. They range from easy to hard all with in a small area, and the way they loop on each other, you can get tons of distance. Great for easy walks, easy to strenuous hikes, trail running, and some gnarly mountain biking. Something for everybody. All right next to the Brazos. I have loved this place since I want to Baylor 16 years ago.
Fun trails and sights. The only complaint is that the gates to the fishing spots close too early and there isnt enough access to the water to fish. Other than that I love this park
Wonderful. Clean, safe, wonderful walking parks. Right by the lakes.
Nice places for 🚶🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️ or just a simple hike if you like the outdoors this place would do 😎🤙
A beautiful park! It was peaceful, with a great view of the Brazos River, great place for a BBQ picnic after the Zoo.
Cameron Park is huge. Playgrounds, hiking/ biking/ running trails are among the longest I have seen in Texas. They are clearly marked as Beginner/intermediate etc. There are bathrooms throughout the park as week, and they are kept very clean. You can also Canoe or bring your Kayak to the river that runs alongside the park.
Such an incredible park with beautiful trails to hike and bike. Ill definitely be back.
Beautiful . Theres other trails to explore. But, didnt get to explore them. I would love to go back to Cameron Park
A beautiful park along the Brazos river. It has scenic paths by the river, picnic areas and several playgrounds. Next to the local zoo.
Oh my goodness its so beautiful! A gorgeous drive, the little guy loved the splash pad even in the drizzle. Several parks to choose from several photo opportunities.
Lots of fun and tons of things to explore. Came mountain biking here, spent the whole morning. There are lots of steep and challenging climbs and seemingly endless trails to explore. I hope to come back and ride some more. Didn’t encounter too many people on the trails but they were all super nice.
I got married here on 4/20/21 at Miss Millies pretty place. Its beautiful
Beautiful park next to a flowing river. Our daughter had a great time on the playground and swings.
Beautiful park with a variety of hiking, cycling and nature trails, as well as having multiple different splash-pads and playgrounds for children. Also, the Cameron Park Zoo, a natural habitat zoo is located within the park.
Great place for riding and walking. The trails are easy enough for a 6 year old to make it on a bike. Its worth a drive from Austin to experience.
Cool place to chill out on a hot day.
Great nature trail with lots of trails that veer off the main river trail. Jacobs ladder was amazing if you like a self torture workout.
Really great trail. Perfect for the whole family. There are restrooms in between trails so you will have the ability to go if need be. Make sure you have enough water.
One of my favorite places to just get away and find some quiet.
Love going here to get a good workout, relax, or just plain sight seeing. Loads of trails to explore and you can never get lost for long as you well run into either the river or a major road. Also plenty of sight seeing places and spots to bbq and picnic.
Fun fun fun mountain bike trails. First timers plan your loops as its easy to get confused. We didnt plan but still had fun. Did a little over 8 miles and 750 foot of climbing.
Beautiful walking, biking, and running trails
Cameron Park has evolved over the years. The landscape is beautiful and the views are amazing ❤ There are several different points that you can go to and see different parts of the Brazos River. Jacobs Ladder is a really cool place to go. Its a tall stone stairway that takes you from the bottom of Cameron Park through the trees to the top. Be prepared to walk for a while and wear good shoes because the stairs vary in size. If youre a nature person there are several hiking trails where you can either walk or bike. I would definitely recommend Cameron Park for people of all ages.
Its always a beautiful place to either relax or workout. They have facilities for all ages and walks of life.
I love the amount of trails. Amazing and clean for an outdoor space, and so many places to go!
Love going for a walk on the different trails just be careful for snakes especially after rain other then that its such a beautiful scene!
Abundance of green space and walking trails laced with Sculptures of Wild Animals found in the Zoo. Worth the drive to Waco and adjacent to the zoo.
I mean, it is the second largest inner city park in the US behind Central Park. What else needs to be said? It has a ton of pavilions for gatherings, great hiking trails, world class mountain bike trails, and one of the most underrated disc golf courses in Texas. You MUST plan a day to see all this park has to offer.
Lovely walk with our daughter and son in law.
It has totally changed from back in the day and it is now a peaceful and pretty place to go
An absolutely beautiful natural Wonderland. Multiple Lookouts from The Cliffs over the Brazos & Bosque Rivers. Extensive Trails for mountain biking and hiking. Very clean Public restrooms with maps at each stop. Beautiful modern play areas for children. A true Photographers Paradise. Whether you want to tear up the trails with the mountain bike or just sit back and relax and take in The View, this park has something for everybody. And if your legs are in good shape check out Jacobs Ladder and climb one of the cliffs. Beautiful canopy tree covered access roads, and active and visible security. If you visit the Waco area and do not stop here you missed out on something very special. The park is directly next to the Cameron Park Zoo which is another beautiful stop. Nature lovers this is a park you do not want to miss.
Beautiful place every time I go I find something new
This was lovely place to visit. Going up Jacobs ladder was a workout but going down was scary! Some guy was going up and down as part of his exercise routine! Hats off to him...Its a gorgeous view!!! Was lucky to be able to take pictures
The hiking trails are great!!! Beautiful views!! Plenty of restrooms and trash cans to keep the park clean.
Lots of shade, pavilions, and some water features where you can cool off. Scenery is gorgeous; views along and above Brazos River are picture-worthy. Park employees patrol frequently, restrooms are clean, and people are friendly. Hiking, biking, and places to play are everywhere. Check out Lover’s Leap!
Very nice views and its like a maze there
BEAUTIFUL. I have found heaven in Waco. I was losing hope of finding that one place I can go to relax and unwind but I finally found it. There are so many things you can do at Cameron Park, or any of the other parks along the route. Hiking, camping, cookouts, bike riding, ect......
Very cool zoo animal statues everywhere.Cool place to take pictures
Its very beautiful and theres alot of trails to explore!
Great trail system
As always could use some cleaning on the trails and as always I love it there
This is a really beautiful park. There is a splash pad, swings, and two sets of playgrounds. The view of the rivers is amazing as well.
Trails trails trails! Take a nice walk or even bike through one of the many trails with great scenery. Rent a paddle boat, kayak, jet ski or fishing along the Brazos river. Many people are always out doing outdoor activities or just a nice spot to stop and have a picnic.
Great place to ride mountain bike. Easy along river - super difficult in the hills.
A fantastic gem of a park, right outside downtown Waco, Cameron Park offers a variety of trails for hikers, runners, and even bikers of all ages. With predictably-warm Texas weather, Cameron Park makes for a nice afternoon venture through its leafy boughs and up & down its - at worst - moderate hills.I highly recommend Cameron Park for runners; the looping trails offer a great respite from the featureless Midwestern plains of central Texas. Make sure to try nearby Jacob’s Ladder, a delightfully steep staircase that goes about 100 meters up - a perfect place for repeats!
This place is absolutely beautiful. I visit almost every time I make it to Waco. Please go. Lovers Leap is wonderful and the trails are so beautiful.
Enjoyed the hiking 🚶♀️ w my sister n love on Johnnie and powerline and my bruh introduced my teen daughter and me to mountain biking 🚵♂️ on Slinky and some of Kite, gorgeous and relaxing what a gr8 breeze in the shade. 😎
Awesome trails!!! So many different skill levels available. Amazing views as well.
The best place to get a serene and calm atmosphere in waco
It Was Cool I got to See Miss Grammer Lol
I hike here almost every weekend. Very well mapped, trails well maintained. Nice views, and beautiful wildflowers at Miss Nellies Pretty Place when the season is right. Very dog friendly. Plenty of spots to grill. Sometimes I see more trash than Id like, so keep the park clean, please! They have plenty of trash cans.
So beautiful! Lots of happy families having a wonderful day. I wish we had parks like this in South MS
Amazing place. Definitely recommend going through the nature trail after dark. Unfortunately it wasnt haunted like the stories we read, but was pretty thrilling.
It’s nice to be able to take the grandkids to a place nice to run and play that’s free.
Great park with great views and trails for biking and hiking.
Went last year with my 8yr old granddaughter. She loves going there. I thought it was very clean and the animals look like they were taken very good care for. Plan on taking her again in a month or two.
Great place for hiking, would 100% recommend couples, families and friends come and just walk through the trails. So many beautiful sights to see. Its kinda fun just to walk around till youre lost, then use a map from your phone to get out lol.
Awesome trails!Everything from easy to hard. Very well maintained.Do take a map; there are trails all over the place and its easy to get confused. The trails are well marked, but theres plenty more that are not marked.
Lots to see and do. Plenty of playscapes for kids to play on
Great views, free fun! Wonderful place to go for a long hike if you have the time.
Cameron Park Mountain Bike trails are a hidden gem! Not too far off of I-35 in Waco makes it hard not to stop here for some fun! You can run on these trails as well and the traffic runs both directions. There is a trail that they call the greenway that runs along the river that’s really pretty. Looks like you could Kayak there too. There were bathroom facilities with running water as well. Some of the trails are double black diamond rated, know your ability and when in doubt-walk it out.
