It has Naval artifacts, ship models & weapons display.Along with the museum there is an archeological museum also which has taxidermy, Giant portraits, weapons, coins, artifacts collections which is collated from different parts of India.

Worth visiting. The galleries in the first building is good with Maritime things like ship, catamaran and history on Navy and various types of ships earlier and now. The second building with architecture is not that great as not much to see. On the ground they have put lot of unused naval machines where u can click photos so as a whole it is exciting for kids as well as adults. The museum is really interesting with all details mentioned properly.

Collection isnt that great. But worst part is a very important artefact, a stone inscription noting the changing of the regions name to Kulotunga Cholapatnam in 11th century by a general under the Chola king Kulotunga has been left outside without any care. Apart from these there is some little collection, one can go without any expectations or when they havent visited any good museums.

This museum holds unique culture heritage and historical artifacts of the State of Andra Pradesh. The museum is housed at a old dutch house and inside there are several models of big ships and other things related to the marines. The history of 1971 war is also briefly described in here. On the other section of the house there are archaeological statues as well as models of lifestyles of several tribes. Overall if you want to know the history of Andra Pradesh and Vishakhapatnam you must make a visit in here. Entry fees is Rs. 10.

Vishakha museum was once the residence of the Dutch and Rajas of Daspalla.The maritime museum is very resourceful and got artefacts of INS Ghazi,Japanese missile that bombed vizagapatanam.Briefs more of maritime heritage of India .This block is very resourceful.The archeological block is bit rusty,got portraits of Raja of Vijayanagaram and Bobbili,the weapons they used and vintage photographs of Vizagpatanam.The most eye catching thing I encountered was the letter from Bill Clinton which was sighned by him.Finally,most important part of the museum is an inscription by Kulothunga the king of chola empire,the inscription tells us about the changing of name to Kulotungapatanam.There is no A/c facility and hot inside the museum .

There are two museum in same premise, one of naval museum and another one is heritage museum. Inside photography is not allowed. Beautiful miniature models of naval ships inside. You are free for photography outside of theses museums where different models are kept. Kids can enjoy these models.

The Vizag museum, with its Navy building and history block should be of interest to a whole range of people.The Navy part is housed in a wonderfully restored over a 150 year old Dutch Bungalow . It houses some of the most amazing large models of warships along with war trophies such as wreckage of PNS Ghazi. It has mannequins, busts, historical paintings of Naval flotilla from Anglo-Maratha times and posters carrying wonderful naval histories, along with many weapon systems like torpedoes and missiles showcased there.The historical artifacts are in a large three story building which is spacious and clean, but sparse in terms of collection, still there are some beautiful bronzes. Many stone statues and some miniature paintings.The most striking part of the collection is a large arms and armor collection on the 3rd floor complete with two medieval European suites of armor.In all, its a place where a rewarding 1-2 hours can be spent in very well managed environment.

The museum is under renovation so its not completely available for viewers, but the art gallery is a delight for art connoisseurs. They have different kinds of crafts from different periods.

Since photos were not allowed to take inside, so i was able to take this one shot.Inside u can see the mini models of real ships,war ships,submarines,and alot of ancient things. This has 2 more floors so dont miss them. Ur time runs so fast that u cant even think what happen. Juz keep skimming and share knowledge.When u come out, then u can see few designs of propellers, bombs and all following Social distance😅.HAPPY HOLIDAY CHAMSP.
