The station premises are clean and tidy. The train indicators are working properly. Water and eating facilities are located in proper places without hindering the incessant traffic flow. All well maintained place inside.Most of the Express trains and all other passenger trains have stop here. The best and the 4th largest railway station in India...Connecting the major routes Howrah-Chennai and Delhi-Chennai.Large station with 10 platforms and hygienic environment.There are lot of developments going on and this station is going to be the best in South Central Railway.

Platform Cleanliness is good. Platform edges and corners has to focused to clean and maintenance. Tea cost on platform #1 is ₹15/- but not even worthy of ₹3/- taste is worst, just hot color water. Also he is giving biscuit packet instead of ₹5/- change.

This is one of the largest railway stations in Asia. Trains are available round the clock two different railway stations from this railway station. Also parking facility is available round the clock. The station is crowded early in the morning and in the evening.maintenance and cleaning of the station is also good but not excellent when compared to other stations. It is one of the largest stations in India it is equipped with almost all the facilities you can find in any big station and also you can find lot of stalls in the station. Available round the clock and dormitories and retiring rooms are also available in the station.

It is an amazing station with many passengers crossing or coming to this station for connecting train journeys. There is a pre-paid auto stand outside the station and you may also reserve autos for going to your needed destinations.The platforms are clean and you also have paid and unpaod Waiting Rooms.There are a lot of food stalls on Platform 1 and they offer pretty decent food.

Almost all facilities available still there are many issues.U can c escalater but it doesnt work.There are many exits and entrances but most of them are shut which makes the open ways choked.

In 1889, the Nizams Guaranteed State Railway constructed a line between Secunderabad railway station and Vijayawada as an extension railway for Bezawada; the station subsequently became a junction of three lines from different directions.On 1 November 1899, the broad-gauge line was constructed between Vijayawada and Chennai, making rail journey between Chennai, Mumbai, Howrah, New Delhi and Hyderabad possible. In the following decades the Vijayawada railway station was developed into a junction until the nationalisation of all the independent railways in India occurred; following nationalisation, Indian Railways was formed under the Ministry of Railways in 1950 by the Government of India. The Vijayawada railway station, as the headquarters of Vijayawada Division, was assigned to the Southern Railway. In 1966, a new zone, South Central Railway, was formed, with Secunderabad as its headquarters; Vijayawada Division and Vijayawada Junction were merged with the new railway.In 1969, the Golconda Express was introduced between Vijayawada and Secunderabad as the express steam-hauled train in the country, with an average speed of 58 km/h.
