Ram Mohan library was very old library. Present this is not work properly. This library have good history. This is built by freedom fighter in 1911 year. This library build in minimum 1 acre land. This place easily to find from near to vijaya krishna super market in MG road, governerpet, VIJAYAWADA..

It is small library on roadside. All Telugu dailies and English dailies are available.

This place is abandoned I think so, because we cant find any one there. And now it is meant for parking bikes see them in pics

Very old library of Vijayawada, now body visits this place, except old loyal people. looks like deserted.

Ramamohan Library is a library in Vijayawada that has been providing knowledge for over a century. The Rammohan Library is a library that has provided shade and fighting spirit to many national leaders since before the independence struggle.Recognizing the need for a library, some literary enthusiasts in Vijayawada first started the Rammohan Library in 1903 in Satyanarayanapuram. The library building was relocated to its present location at Locks on Port Road in 1911 due to inadequate requirements. 2,197 sq. Ft. Land was purchased at auction at the municipality for Rs.3,324. Registered with the Library Association in 1913 and officially worked. Ayyadevara Kaleswara Rao, who thought that the library needed a permanent building and needed money for the construction of the building, gave a chance to his rival and donated Rs. The library, which was formed as a result of many such sacrifices, was built in 1914 as a large building. The Rammohan Library is still a symbol of the spirit of the freedom struggle of that time. The Andhra Pradesh Library Association was established on April 10, 1941 in this building.Gandhijis Library: The Patriarch Mahatma Gandhi visited the Rammohan Library twice. He first met with the freedom fighters on January 30, 1919, addressed them and stayed there that night. It was in this library that the first decision to launch the Quit India movement for complete independence was taken at the National Congress-Executive meeting held in Vijayawada in 1929 under the chairmanship of Gandhiji.Many leaders like Tanguturi Prakasham Panthulu, Neelam Sanjeevareddy, Acharya NG Ranga, Madapati Hanumantrao, Ayyadevara Kaleswararao, Dr. Pattabhi Sitaramaiah, Mutnuri Krishna Rao, Kashinadhuni Nageswararao, Gadicharla Harisarvottamarao came to this book and read the books.From then until 1960, the library was very popular. With government funding, nearly 18,000 books have been compiled. Some of these books are rare, not found in any other library in the state. From Amma stories to America are available here. Many books on general, linguistic, literary, technical, cultural, childrens, spiritual and personality development are available here. There is also a section specifically for competitive exams for students and a special section for women.
