Very beautiful monument and surroundings well maintained by ASI. Since it’s completed stone structure will suggest to go early morning or evening as even at 5 pm we were feeling the heat. In terms of artistic designs i will rate this better than Gol Gumbaz. Hats off to artists who sculpted on such a hard rock.

During our family tour to ‘Bijapur’ in Karnataka, we visited to ‘Ibrahim Rauza’ which is another famous and most stylish architectural example of the Adil Shahi style of architecture. It is located at 4 km away from famous ‘Gol Gumbaz’ & 2 km from ‘Bara Kaman’.It consists of two core constructions; a tomb and a mosque with several smaller structures. All the buildings are built within a square enclosure with an attractive garden in the front of it. Both the structures are built on a platform around a walled enclosure. In between there is an open yard, in which a decorative tank and a fountain is built. The interior of it has an arched verandah of row of pillars around the central chamber. The chamber room is a small square; but it is elegant because of the introduction of a charmingly carved ceiling. The Ibrahim Rauza has a well-executed plan of a building with amazing architecture. The wonderful gardens at the entrance enhance the beauty of this place. This is the best place for photography. It remains open from 8 am to 6 pm and entry ticket is Rs.25/- and Rs.25/- for camera and Rs.40/- for car parking.

Ibrahim Rauza was designed by a Persian architect and built under the able guidance of Ibrahim Adil Shah II in the 15th century. With the vision to maintain a harmonious relationship between Hindus and Muslims, this architectural masterpiece was initiated. Splashed with mesmerizing sculptures and beautiful adornments, the Ibrahim Rauza will grab your eyeballs from the first instant. The Rauza is a square-compound with a mosque and tomb separated from each other by a tank and fountain. The mosque is crowned with a bulbous dome with rows of petals at its base that renders it an amazing look. It is shaded by a chhajja and a slender minaret at each corner of its five arched-facade. The mosque has a rectangular prayer room along with several tunnels and passages that lead to various areas of the Rauza. The tomb too comprises of a central chamber, engulfed by a verandah along with a dome, capping the whole.Few fascinating facts:The mosque in Ibrahim Rauza was the influential factor behind the construction of the Taj Mahal.King Ibrahim Adil Shah II had a temple built in his palace-premises.As per his last wish, the tomb of the Persian architect lies beside that of his masters.Months from September to March are preferred for a travel to this wonderful place. It remains opened to public from morning 06:00am to evening 06:00pm.Entry fees: Indians and SAARC visitors- Rs.5Foreigners- Rs.100Children below 15 years- Free

His is also known as the Ibrahim Rauza which is the tomb complex where Ibrahim Adil Shah II is buried along with his wife queen Taj Sultana. It is one among the supreme achievements of the Adil Shahi’s which is remarkably considered and finely decorated. It was completed in the year 1627 by Ibrahim Adilshah –II, it is a square structure with twin buildings and delicate carvings. The building was designed by the Persian architect Malik Sandal with the sentence of Quraan are beautifully covered on the walls.Ibrahim Roza is the tomb of Ibrahim Adil Shah II with his two sons and his mother on the left and on the right side with a mosque set in a walled garden facing over an attractive pond. The tomb is in a chamber of 13 meters and has the ceiling divided into nine squares with curved sides. It is one of the splendid mosque and tomb of Bijapur, it is known for its graceful arches, halls, intricate designs with a large crowning onion dome. The dome is rising from a lotus petal base, it is said to be a creativeness of the Taj Mahal at Agra with 24 meters. The big fountain and reservoir divide the mosque from the tomb, it is counted one among the beautiful instances of Islamic architecture. This consists of the interconnected buildings, with the faultless domes topped with the crescent moons and surrounded on the four corners with the symmetrical minarets that manages the structural simplicity with intricate stonework with point arches that leads to cool high ceiling chambers and walls richly decorated with sculptures and hangings. The construction was between the 15th to 17th century of the Ibrahim Roza and the mosque built in the walled garden facing the ornamental pond. This was located at about 2 km from Bijapur on the western outskirts of the city. It has significant sculptural decorative work with intricate design works.

Utterly beautiful:It was built as a tomb for Ibrahim Adil Shah in Bijapur. There are two main buildings in the complex, one being the tomb and the other is a mosque. Both are placed in a perfect symmetry on a raised platform facing each other. There are intricate carvings in stone for generations to relish and praise the craftsmanship of the bygone era.It is a beautiful place just outside the walls of the city.Timings: 6 am to 6 pm.Entry fees:Indians is 25/- and 25/- for Camera.10/- for shoes and 40/- for car parking. But one thing for sure the architecture looks so good as in the forts of Rajasthan and it was very peaceful an cool within the building.

This a twin building complex with a tomb and a Maszid. Both buildings have amazing Hindu Islam architecture. The tomb building is also referred by locals as black Taj Mahal and was built before the Agra Taj Mahal. Though it is not as huge as Taj nor does it have independent minarets as in Agra Taj.The door ways in the tomb building are beautifully carved.

Problem is people visiting it, litter while enjoying picnic. Also, first time saw that cost of entry (₹25.00) is cheaper than parking (₹50.00). Known as the second most famous building in Vijaapura or Bijapur. Also known as Taj of South, though not as magnificent. Grounds are huge and beautiful. When we visited in Mar 2019, the entrance way was being done. It should already over by now. Beautiful from outside and inside, ample parking and not so crowded. We observed very mysterious circles on the floor of some arches, later to realuze that they were bird droppings marks. Got the circular ones due to circular domes above. No options for snacks and water etc, prepare before visit.Look out for some great symmetry and ornate windows.
