HistoryPonnani was a famous sea port in ancient times. It used to be under the control of the Namboothiri feudal lords. Later, power shifted to the hands of the Zamorins of Kozhikode.During the early decades of the 16th century, Ponnani witnessed terrible battles between Zamorins naval chief, Kunjali Marakkar and the Portuguese army. The place also witnessed invasion by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later by Hyder Ali of Mysore in the 18th century. It was with the fall of Tipu Sultan that Ponnani succumbed to the British during the last decade of the 18th century.Islamic InfluencePonnani, known as the small Mecca of Kerala, has many ancient mosques. The Islamic influence here began in ancient times, when Ponnani started trade with the Arabs. It is believed that Malik Ibn Dinar, the first Islamic missionary to Kerala, visited Ponnani.Historical records talk about Ponnanis rich past and bond with the Islam. The Ponnani Juma Masjid was built here in the 15th century by Zainuddin Ibn Bin Ahmed, the descendant of an Arab theologian who came here. William Logan, who had held the position of Collector of Malabar, in his Malabar Manual published in 1887, talks about the mosque as a learning centre of Islam with at least 400 students. Today, Mounathul Islam Sabha, a registered institution set up in the 1900s acts as the nerve centre of Islamic religion in the area. The influence of Islam and the Arab traders paved the way for a new calligraphic form for Arabic known as the Ponnani script. This unique script, also known as Arabi Malayalam, is still used by some families in Ponnani.

Its disgustingPolytheism in the name of Allah and Islam. (Astagfirullah)This is not islam ,In Islam, shirk (Arabic: شرك širk) is the sin of practicing idolatry or polytheism, i.e. the deification or worship of anyone or anything besides the singular God, i.e. Allah. Literally, it means ascribing or the establishment of partners placed beside God. It is the vice that is opposed to the virtue of Tawhid(monotheism).[1] Those who practice shirk are termed mushrikun.[2] Mushrikun (pl. of mushrik) are those who practice shirk, which literally means association and refers to accepting other gods and divinities alongside the god of the Muslims - Allah (as Gods associates).[3] In Islamic law shirk as a crime, can just be attributed to Muslims, since only a Muslim is legally responsible not to associate any partner to Allah.[4]Within Islam, shirk is an unforgivable crime if it remains unpardoned before death: Allah may forgive any sin if one dies in that state except for committing shirk.[1][5]The word širk comes from the Arabic root Š-R-K (ش ر ك), with the general meaning of to share.[6] In the context of the Quran, the particular sense of sharing as an equal partner is usually understood, so that polytheism means attributing a partner to Allah. In the Quran, shirk and the related word mušrikūn (مشركون)—those who commit shirk and plot against Islam—often refer to the enemies of Islam (as in verse 9.1–15).Islamic commentators on the Quran have emphasized that pre-Islamic Arabic idolatrymade a number of godlings (most memorably the three goddesses al-Manāt, al-lāt and ʻUzzā) equal associates of Allah (as the Quran discusses in the 53rd surat) and the word mushrikūn (singular: mushrik) is often translated into English as polytheists. The Quran and what the people of Nuhscommunity would say in an effort by the idolaters to ignore and mock Nuh. They (idolaters) have said: You shall not leave your gods nor shall you leave Wadd, nor Suwa, nor Yaghuth, nor Yauq nor Nasr. (Quran 71:23)Other forms of shirk include the worship of wealth and other material objects. This is pointed out in the Quran in one of the stories of the Children of Israel, when they took a calf made of gold for worship,[7] and for which Moses ordered them to repent.Another form of shirk mentioned in the Quran is to take scholars of religion, monks, divines, or religious lawyers as Lord(s) in practice by following their doctrines, and/or by following their rulings on what is lawful when it is at variance to the law or doctrines prescribed by Allahs revelation.[8][9]Polytheism is the belief that there are many gods. Breaking the word down, “poly” comes from the Greek word for “many,” and “theism” from the Greek word for “God.” Polytheism has perhaps been the dominant theistic view in human history. The best-known example of polytheism in ancient times is Greek/Roman mythology (Zeus, Apollo, Aphrodite, Poseidon, etc.). The clearest modern example of polytheism is Hinduism, which has over 300 million gods. Although Hinduism is, in essence, pantheistic, it does hold to beliefs in many gods. It is interesting to note that even in polytheistic religions, one god usually reigns supreme over the other gods, e.g., Zeus in Greek/Roman mythology and Brahman in Hinduism.
