Whats wrong with this picture? Nothing! It shows a perfect variety of well-portioned, delicious Indian food. Its also Gajs lunch special C) and comes with a drink.Dont understand how people can rate this place anything below four stars. Clean (including the washroom!), quick and friendly service, and tasty everything. Love it.

Food is incredible. Pricey but the price represents well the quality of the food. They did not add an excessive amount of oil to my meal; I didnt have to scoop out the fat out. I also appreciated how little salt he added... wasnt too salty 👍I felt like it was made with love...

Stopped in for lunch. A very reasonably priced tray of Lamb, chicken leg, rice and vegetables. Comes with a fresh Nan bread and a canned soft-drink. The food was hot (temperature) and well seasoned. It was mild in terms of spices but great. I felt I made a good choice and would return. Friendly service as well.

Whats wrong with this picture? One piece of butter chicken and tandoori drumstick for 15$. I looked inside and thought someone ate part of the meal. It turns out the owners are just cheap. I understand trying to scrimp and save... too bad its a restaurant and they were trying to make an extra buck. I give 2 stars as I assume it might taste ok based on the 4 star review. Honestly, even the look does not seem appetizing. Losing customers is the owners way.

My husband and I ordered takeout from Gaj today and it was perfect! We ordered 2 chicken dishes/sauce, chana masala, chiken biryani and naan and everything was plentiful, fresh and delicious. Ive had Indian food in Montreal ( Park-Ex) and Toronto and Gaj is up there in taste and quality. Thank you Gaj and Keep up the good work!

I am giving 2 and am being generous, only because of the good taste, but the portion does not really deserve the price given, we ordered butter chicken, and biryani chicken. Butter chicken tasted very good but barely had any chicken, it felt like its a soup much more than chicken, had 4 small pieces of chicken, biryani is even worse, it came with a lot of spiced rice, also 4 or 5 SMALL pieces of chicken,(you can barely find the chicken) if they really calculate the chicken that they put it wont cost them 1 or 2 $ of chicken, yet i paid nearly 50$ with the nun bread, i wish they were not cheap with their costumers like that, never going back again.

If you are looking for some really good Indian food. This is the place. Their nans are great. My favorite is their lamb korma if you like it sweet. We have tried many different dishes and seriously everything is good. Prices are reasonable. Friendly staff. Service is fairly quick if the restaurant is not full. Lots of people get their food to go partly because the decor is just so so, I guess. You dont go there for the ambience (hence the 4 stars). Bring your own wine.

Best Indian food in the region. The price is good and you get a rebate if you pick up your order. If you plan to eat there, it is a being your own wine place. But I would not recommend to stay there since the ambiance is not incredible. When you call to pre-order, you will most likely have to order in English.Everything I tried was good! I love their mango chutney and the fried onions.

Nice little restaurant. Food was good and well spiced. The portions were generous. We took the Indian tea to finish it off and it was very good. The only down side was maybe the price. Maybe with the 10% off on takeout orders, we would have manage to keep it in a good price range...

This is the worst Indian restaurant ever, and does not even meet the minimum rating, i gave it a star just to allow me to post this review.I spend almost 35 dollars in this restaurant and the food is like garbage. I am frequent traveler and have never tasted an Indian food this bad.I will never return to this restaurant ever, being an Indian myself this restaurant is a disgrace to claim as an Indian restaurant.I would rate this restaurant as the worst in Montreal and could not figure out why people have voted 4 stars for this restaurant. In fact i called the restaurant and complain to the owner and he was not happy about my feedback.Folks go to Wendys next door where their food is 100 times better than this garbage.

Always a good meal. Tandoori anything is usually a great choice, the naan is great when warm, and the okra is really something special. Their shrimp are quite good in a variety of flavors, and although I have never tried any of their meat dishes, those i know who do partake in the eating of mammals in this establishment usually rather appreciate it! I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a very satisfying meal. Not to mention its a great place for takeout.

The food here is TERRIBLE and extremely over priced. I have tried their food on three different occasions and each time was worse than the last. The portion sizes are so small. We once ordered daal makhani and I can swear it was not more than 5 tablespoons. Ordered food for take out and it was just ok. The chicken tikka masala was moist but the sauce was bland and was missing spice. I also ordered the channa samosa which was a mistake because its obvious they dont care about take out. They added the channa to the samosa as well as the chutney and yogurt all in one container so by the time I got home it was just a container of hot mess. The chutney was way too sweet and ruined the channa and because they put it all together, the samosa basically disappeared into it, was very soggy. Also the chickpeas were undercooked so not really impressed with them. Honestly the best part of my meal was the rice. Even the naan bread was bland and very chewy. I give it the 3 stars because the person taking the order over the phone was very pleasant to talk to, otherwise I wouldve given it lower

Al
Review №58

Actually, I would give it 2.5 stars or 50%. Food is OK. Far from the best Indian food you will ever eat, but not the worst either. They are pretty much the only Indian food in the area so we dont have much of a choice.Their service is a little weird though. We ordered from them not long ago. They offered to deliver between 1 - 2 hours. We said fine. Then I forgot to ask for the total... Bad idea. Total was over 40$. But refering to my menu, the total shuld have been under 35$. The driver said they just changed the menu a few days ago and that it was more expensive on evenings. A little warning would have been nice, but fine.I then made a comment about how much more expensive the food was compared to where I used to order in Toronto (same order was 25$). His answer was well, thats because they only have one tax in Toronto...Bottom line, food is average, service is mediocre.

Ive eaten there twice now, the first time was ok but everything was overspiced and I love spice, even the dal soup was spicy? Dal soup samething, only thing I enjoyed was the nan bread.

I dont like to leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience at Gaj.I went there with my 3 year old to order for take-out. While I was ordering, the man that took my order kept trying to push me into buying other dishes, while I specified I only wanted butter chicken, a tandoori leg and naan. When I came back to pick-up, I had left my little one with her dad. The first question he asked me was: did you leave your daughter alone in the car? I did not appreciate his attitude at all. I took the food and paid 1-2$ extra per item compared to most of the indian restaurants that I have visited. They did not have Thumbs Up or Mirinda, or any other indian soft drink that you usually find in a restaurant like this one. I then proceeded to eating and it was such a big dissapointment! The butter chicken sauce was very watery and had so much sugar that I could barely swallow and was lacking salt completely. It was not flavourful and just didnt taste right. The tandoori leg was undercooked and extremely salty, I couldnt eat it because of that. The naan tasted good, but was paper thin. The gulab jamun that I took for dessert looked right, but inside it was al mushy and tasteless. This was a huge waste of money, time and nerves. Go somewhere else!

We ordered in recently and Im sad to say it was a disappointing meal. The portion sizes are greatly lacking given that theyre more expensive than other Indian restaurants throughout Vaudreuil. On top of that they dont come with a choice of rice/naan.The lamb curry was bland and watered down to the point that it separated and made a pool of clear liquid in the middle of my plate. The naan is also thinner than expected, though it was still enjoyable. The saving grace of our meal was the palak paneer, which we enjoyed thoroughly.I understand its been a tough year for restaurants but the quality of the food has been reduced too much for me to return.

First time we went there and we had a take out. We ordered Palek Paneer, Vegetarian Biryani, and Chicken Jalfrazi. The Palek Paneer was a total miss... a messy mixture of milk and spinach, hardly any spinach at all, it was quite undesirable. The rice Biryani was oily and loaded with overcooked green peas, the rice was not fluffy at all, too much oil, too much peas and other vegetables that were grated that gave the appearance of a slush of rice. The piece of tomato had rotten spots on it, so we can assume to a certain degree of certainty that the vegetables are not washed and carefully sorted. The chicken Jalfraizi was the only dish that I somewhat enjoyed, the red sauce was nicely spiced and there was REAL white chicken meat, the only negative point is the carrot slices, the dish could very well stand on its own, these carrot strips are just fillers. It was my first time and my last time, for 40.00 $ I expected more quality in the food and preparation as well.
